Also on the main pool, I'm getting: [2015-02-06 20:06:58] Stratum connection timed out [2015-02-06 20:06:58] Stratum connection interrupted [2015-02-06 20:06:58] Stratum detected new block
Over and over, though my stats seem to show up, they're much lower than the local miner shows. Anything going on? There were some overload issues with the pool and it hasn't been as efficient as it could be. I tweaked the settings and it should be better now. Let me know in about a day if the stats still don't line up.

If that was implemented, this coin would be great! I'm just curious, how did you find out about Spreadcoin?

If that was implemented, this coin would be great! I'm just curious, how did you find out about Spreadcoin? every once in a while (whn my "show new replies to your post" turns up nothing), I click on "show unread posts since your last visit". Because the description of the coin (pool resistant whatever) is in the title of the thread, I was interested and clicked on it. I ultimately didn't put too much effort into the coin. Is it built on cryptonote too? Just saw that it uses tsivs ccminer, so I assume it is. it'd be sweet if these two devs made a coin baby.

But the algo is different to make it pool resistant. Holy Sh*t price is on 4849 sats!!!

Pending balance and payments seem to be staying the same now however. Is there a way to setup a simple private pool using just the daemon for example? Then have miners point to the daemon to mine? I tried using my normal method, but seems the pebblecoin.conf values are much different.

Pending balance also only updates once the block is mature - the pool waits for 60 blocks until considering a block is mature. I am not sure. I haven't looked into this. If it worked with other cryptonote coins it should work with pebblecoin too.

I think pools are helpful to encourage more people to mine. If pool operator starts to double-spend it will be found out and people will not use them to mine any more. Also as with bitcoin the community is sensitive to how much hashrate a pool has and will avoid putting too much in one pool.

Well, I made 0.025 off this coin. I'm sticking around. I'll probably invest again once if the price drops.

Pebblecoin.conf doesn't seem to accept the values needed to be used as a private pool that you can mine to. For instance, I have the daemon and wallet running on one server without enough RAM, then have 2 computers with enough RAM mining to that wallet. I'm unable to find any method for making this work. I must be missing something custom with pebblecoin and being able to set private miner/rpc settings.

Also as with bitcoin the community is sensitive to how much hashrate a pool has and will avoid putting too much in one pool. This is the fallacy of the actively aware community. If cryptocurrency is to become as ubiquitous as we hope, your average user isn't going to put that much time into the underpinnings of the technology. No one really looks into the security of the bank / credit card they use. No one knows how money currently moves around the banking system. They just sign up for whatever offers the best deal. but I guess if I learned enough code, i could make the coin baby......

Pool hasn't sent a payout in 4 and a half hours, might want to look into it.

Not quite, but still, it's the only way. Eh, I seem to get an extra 3-5% hash rate from the reported speed in pebblecoind as opposed to the pool miner. And whoops, meant pebblecoind above^

sweet. So the coin might be pool proof (at least for now), because of the ridonculous system load?
