1111111111111111111114oLvT2 (21 ones in a row, weird length)
Not a real address, it is literally just the number 0 encoded as a bitcoin address. It's nice that someone's sent some coins to it, though. If those coins ever go anywhere, it'll constitute absolute proof that the whole system is completely broken and we're all doomed. This: validateaddress 1111111111111111111114oLvT2Returns true It's valid but can't be used? 48 BTC gone for good by the look of it,

The solutions I found for 1koe1en3 were based on searching for two distinct types simultaneously with the -i and -k switches. I can add in to the mix - Unfortunately when you add the BTC suffix there is an error "duplicate search" (can't recall the exact phrase, but you can only search for 1koe1en3 or 1koe1en3btc but not both.

-snip- Thanks! I have used VanityGen Before but being not good with memory , i did not remember about l.. Can we used I instead ? So it would look like l ?
No, 1 is the closest to l in terms of looks. anything more than 1 day is alot to keep it running just for a address.. Can you make a case sensitive one ? More like 1koe1en3 My GPU is pretty neat.. How do u check my MKeys/s ? Maybe mine is faster and i will give it a try?
Just run oclvanitygen instead of vanitygen to use your GPU. Thanks , been busy over the week - will try it today...

I will look into the post by Shorena on how to do the half privkey and then if mine speed comes low... I will get one from you! Thanks both of you! Appreciate the time you put into it

How do i select the GPU ? You can try asking here: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22], I've had great help there to get it working. It doesn't ask me to choose a device, I have just one option I guess, so I can't tell you how to select it.

Im still not so sure how addresses work. I know their purpose, and i know how to use mine, but how are they generated? What decides things like length?

A scam will be a scam. It won't sustain in long run, cause they can't make $ for you at all, they don't have any business model or investment plans to make money grows. All they did is use other people's $ to pay other users, so those who earned $ is just from other victims... in short a vicious cycle. People KNEW, but they just dump their $ in hoping for a miracle.
Maybe I have to give another example for people who can't understand. It's like- Going down to dirty sewers looking for fresh air.

Tell me, does the address generation is subject to a difficulty that depends of the competition going on in the area like the Bitcoin network is ?

Within the context of this discussion thread it is quite similar. The more hashing power you have at your disposal to find an address the faster you will find it hence the more difficult it will be to enter the Rare Address Hall of Fame. We're not looking for bitcoins here though; we are looking for rare addresses.

No. Addresses can be generated offline and do not depend on blockchain difficulty.

... and we have a winner! : Over yonder: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1257817.0: 1yoona1 would take about six hours to reach the 50% mark - 888446610538 is close enough to | lottery248 | 1Paizuri | N | 873,388,193,410 | 0.0098 BTC |
: 1iefken1 would take about 14.6 days just to reach 50% and it's difficulty 51,529,903,411,245 puts it about here: | -example- | 1abcdefg | N | 51,529,903,411,245 | 0.495 BTC In both searches, it's assuming you want case sensitive.
