Deep celeron, sign your earliest address so OP can put it in there for longest vanity so far.

The most remarkable / cool addresses (*) found in the blockchain will be listed below.

It's in the blockchain, he just hasn't "found" it...

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

The text that I was signing was "Gadman2 owns this signature"

I don't know much about it either way. I just found it interesting to see how hardcore I could pump my gtx into it. Saw that the current record to OP was only 9 letters, and figured I'd give it a shot to attempt to break or tie it. deepceleron has it beat by a letter, now I should attempt a 11 letter word Cheesy

"1bitcoin" was wasted on the bitcoineater, but I nabbed firstbits "1bitcoins". Somebody had to get it.
I could have waited until I found a better looking address, but it took long enough to find this:

Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin\daemon
#bitcoind importprivkey 5JXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 1bitcoins

C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin\daemon
#bitcoind signmessage 1BiTCoinSNU2BMzf2cN2TK4yzPUA6CnTAd deepceleron
HL5QyzfI9Gp3owXa+d91xVN1zzW8p1XMU+Hn8IvKdifEFcdRcoYZQqfTECS4OypRnetwVs9x+k1fKeIFmAsw6n8=

I like this one a lot. Congrats. I don't know if OP is still around, but this one should be added IMHO.

I've added 1Executable to the list. Will review the others later.

I've also added a new category for palindromic addresses (with symmetrical first and last characters)
The current record (123XjDj2ZQwgogCBZkYDrvUQBCR14ZJ321) shouldn't be too hard to beat...

And another new category for the longest pronounceable prefix (doesn't have to be a real English word)

1otohotohMoQoxHuxLBveQiZcV3Pji3Tc

What about this address?

Awesome! Wink though actually only an 8 char after the 1 addie, but sorta neat how it carries on the -o- theme nicely & I like the Hux bit too.

Very glad that you liked it Smiley

Here's perhaps a new type to add to THoF, the shortest address as in with least number of characters, like these 32 char addresses:

11111PXVCnuZsHwrHTn3ukmsadDEfzxs
111114YNgH3Pkj8dgZ3zP7DLC4jHzNQz
11111enRSTZqB4Y77sa9rWMKzANNxbCw

According to this post (& the replies to it) the limit gets for between 34 & 27 chars apparently, with 34 being by far the most common & the shorter it is then the rarer it would be.

Another category could be perhaps, the shortest address - because it had the most narrow type chars, ie: 1jjjjjjjj... (I haven't experimented yet to see which other chars if any may make for a tighter address.

and only one digit.  I am impressed.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

Ten letters, initial cap:

Address: 1BoyishnessfwHq3wSkCkJ7iafUdjhghfU
Message: ryanc has the private key for this address
Signature: HNXprtkKxbjNzUEXJk/B+8z4MbyXnVrdZ+n+ZsmIHMTWm7DywDsXR9HymjMZYnHHrhBUxVVhwNM8l12A0GBLXCU=

bitcoind verifymessage 1BoyishnessfwHq3wSkCkJ7iafUdjhghfU HNXprtkKxbjNzUEXJk/B+8z4MbyXnVrdZ+n+ZsmIHMTWm7DywDsXR9HymjMZYnHHrhBUxVVhwNM8l12A0GBLXCU= 'ryanc has the private key for this address'

In the block chain:

Also, 1Methioninejxahkk89KXoTjDXX8MbQ74G is in that transaction.

is this cool?

1ABCDEFGhSGyyACty7gXC4PvKwjjMEsdVq

You didn't even put that in the block chain.

and someone already has this one https://blockchain.info/address/1ABCDEFGHTs4DtPSNch45cmp3BsDdQP8SV

All upper case, and a-h, and that is the one that has first bits.

If you want to beat that, go a-i and get it in the block chain.

check it out.
https://blockchain.info/address/1ABCDEFGhSGyyACty7gXC4PvKwjjMEsdVq
just made a transacation and put it in the chain, don't want to beat anyone, just feel it kinda cool, thanks for letting me know someone's good job.

Your first bits are http://blockchain.info/fb/1abcdefghs

Not too cool, and the one I mentioned is A-H all caps, not a small h...

1ABCDEFGHTs4DtPSNch45cmp3BsDdQP8SV with FirstBits: 1abcdefgh is pool generated & owned by me just for the record.

1 to 9 consecutive digits-only prefix van addie from: https://vanitypool.appspot.com/

123456789rceSbLWwKFY6v3T1TVnq5zWmA

Owner: Otoh

btw the hall of fame-ers: 1otohotohMoQoxHuxLBveQiZcV3Pji3Tc & 1ELiZABETHdzGTuQeg2RnCcWBMVo3ySfTz are also both pool generated & owned by me (the 1ELiZ addie will be a gift for my neice in the future).

Edit to add, as you were also looking for 'cool addresses' - I own this one, also pool generated: 1Duuuude1jup761HS2yjjoJgrfZaQFb9u5 Cool

What constitutes a rare address?

Would a 1Remember be one?

133ToRyyqtacUw1A89uBBpEQn6UknGx4ts

Me too, but with extra leet speak of a 7 for the T.
I got these two from Casascius:

1337qbfsHGxvzN6wrckdFoBniMdTRyt9qE

1337YWoEf5PP4V9sbP8gXTHmt621pZgyCu

Edit: re what constitutes a rare address, see OP & some of this thread for more info, 1Remember is nice but not exceptionally rare, 1Remembers would be impressive having 9 chars with proper case after the initial 1, there have only having been a couple of these so far (they didn't have Initial capital letter followed by only small case either which may be rarer or a new category for the hall of fame) & 1Remembered would be unique to date in having 10 proper case chars after the 1.
