Denominated coins is a good idea.

ANy info on how you would encourage adoption in West Africa?

Within West Africa, what languages are used? Are these languages supported by Android? Will the wallet eventually be translated into these languages to facilitate uptake?

@semajjames, there's enough people running wallets now that over time your wallet should get it's 8 connections. Sometimes those connections don't have enough connections themselves and your message of having a block doesn't get propagated as well as another wallet that's trying to stake or a wallet announcing a miner found a block. To improve this you can try to improve you connection and make sure you get 8 connections. If you have all 8, next time you shut the wallet down, you may want to delete the peers.dat file, to basically try again next time to get better peers. It's a race to who wins the block, the more conflicts you have just means you're losing the race a lot.

good job on the update, android and ios wallet would be awsome, so the coin can be used what it's designed for. any eta?

edit: looking at this marketcap, its current position is so low, its surrounded by abandoned coins in the marketcap list, this along with the still active dev makes this one of the best investments atm. only way is up
At the moment KOBO trades are not really involving the main users. Once the android wallet is finally released there will be more demand.

The 2 main trading languages are French and English. We won't be supporting local languages because there are just too many. Also, a lot of people can speak their mother tongue, but can't/don't read or write in it.

Since launch we've made a lot of progress on social media making people aware of the brand. It's been very positive so far (check out @kobocoindev's twitter followers). I think we already have a groundswell in progress, but we'll have to wait (Angry) for the android wallet to see if translates to wallet downloads and funded addresses.

Why price is so low?

Too many miners unloading at once would be my guess.

At this rate the best hope is for the start of PoS.

The issues are normal hair-pulling IT issues. A server is needed. A server is provided. Incompatible OS. Go back 3 steps. Look in the mirror. Decide how to report to the community. Take deep breath... and exhale.....

We'll get there.

There seems to be a bug in the windows client. Twice now it has it has stopped at a block never to continue. I think it might have to do with when I switch on a vpn connection and then back off. Other wallets have no issue with this. I will try to further see what causes it next time it happens.

I am a bit concerned about the rich list:

There is one address:
FKt8vwoWburnEDLiZ6PmS9Nq1qSa3aXQgV holding 3910275.30299133 KOBO which is 20.3 % of the total supply

The top three:
FKt8vwoWburnEDLiZ6PmS9Nq1qSa3aXQgV holding 3910275.30299133 KOBO
FMGXA8MyNqu4EuoA5TYjZRB96aPpXRSXWe holding 2654106.03134412 KOBO
FFmRa8SLtjVkXg1eb3Dm6YGhMEdPYJiNk2 holding 2484166.00000000 KOBO

Which is 47% of the total supply

Is this not a danger? Who is holding this and what if they decide to dump or otherwise affect the price?

Soooooooon...............

It's a bit crazy that one address has "burn" in it. People that horde coins believe in them, it's a very positive sign as I'm concerned. This coin could have a very bright future, people could be betting on that. The even better thing is so many blocks are being mined via POS, this brings up the cost of mining POW, so they should either want more money for the coins and there's a smaller amount of blocks wanting to sell quick. It's a prime time to buy now, if you believe in this coin. As there is only 43,200 possible POW blocks, which POS blocks have really ate into, and there's only less than 10,000 blocks of that left, this coin won't have it's max number for a long long time.

19,282,825 current coins, plus maybe another 4,500,000 for these last POW blocks added, and some for interest, means this coins total volume is tiny. Then over time it only grows with interest, meaning people have to hold them. All good signs. Might not be this low again.

I've been playing around with QT Designer. Got the denominations sorted.

KOBO

MANILLA

COWRIE

The updated desktop wallets will be officially released once all 3 desktop versions are built and tested. If you'd like to play with the Linux version I'm using it can be downloaded from the following URL:

https://mega.co.nz/#!rVYzFZCZ!CKJS6_79OFiqoSaDOV5TxCSqN6j66qwqgDByoWmixr0

Revisions: 22nd February, 2015
1. Removed white border from startup splash image
2. Modified currency denominations to reflect KOBO, MANILLA, COWRIE

I'll make sure that all revision history is part of the ever-growing(!) OP
Please virus check before testing and make sure you backup your wallet.dat before doing anything

(btw, we now have the correct server and OS to get moving ahead with the Android wallet - fingers crossed!)

According to current trends, you have about 68 more hours to mine this coin via X15. And currently POW blocks are less than half the blocks minted. After that, I think blocks will finally stabilize to an average of that 60 second mark with just POS mining.
