Good work dev. As for the linux wallets it would be easier to let people compile from source off github.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Good work dev. As for the linux wallets it would be easier to let people compile from source off github.
Thanks. There's a bit of a dilemma with releasing the updated source code. Kobocoin is open source but I'm not sure the dev who developed the EM code would like me to make it freely available at this moment in time (I can see why and I don't blame him). I'd like to respect that.

It may mean that a number of Linux wallets need to be compiled. With the Linux wallet the main dependency issue is the libboost package. I've already built 2 Linux daemons and wallets.

1. kobocoin-qt v2.1 for libboost 1.54
2. kobocoin-qt v2.1 for libboost 1.55

I think most people are running one of these 2 versions of libboost (if at all). I could release them all and see how it goes for now. If you're a Linux user please goto /usr/share/doc and check what version of libboost-system1.xx.0 you're running.

I've released the kobocoin-qt for libboost 1.55 (and updated the update, and the OP). If anyone downloads the Linux wallet please let me know if you experience any issues.

UPDATE:

The www.kobocoin.com website has been updated. There's also a blue announcement bar on the front page. The website should be a bit easier to understand for new users.

Thanks. I also want to put stats near the blue bar on a ticker to show time, current price, market cap, (maybe daily crypto news as well) or maybe some other info. I'll think of something. The website has to look current and live. But that's for another time.

Right now it's full steam ahead in the pursuit of the Abe fix.

A coin will drop value with such a large ratio of sellers to buyers. If people would hold the coin and stake it, instead of leaving it on an exchange, the price would come back up. It just depends on people now, too many sellers, not enough buyers.

Yes, unfortunately I think the delays may also be a factor. All I can do is keep building the platform. As services come online confidence should grow.

FWIW, Firefox is fine with the download and, although my AV scanned the file on execution, it returned an all-clear.  Although it would be best if the download generated no warnings, it might also be a generic issue with downloading an .exe file, depending on your security settings....

Yes, it seems fine with firefox. When I tried with IE it gave a message. I'll see what method of distribution to use to get over that issue.

No issues downloading on chrome for me. And I uploaded to Jotti: http://virusscan.jotti.org/en/scanresult/9ed8a618ec453d1159537570fb11f20f64375982

It has one erroneous report, nothing else that would trigger a normal virus/malware scan

I've updated the website asking windows users to use Firefox to download the wallet. Best I can do for now. As usual, no cryptos are allowed on the windows store. That's probably the only way to guarantee acceptance by the browser. I'll try and find out how other developers have gotten over this.

Thanks. Funny thing is that when I used to build systems for a living I always said "Never install ANYTHING with a zero at the end of it". I was known for that statement.

I guess it still applies! Cheesy

Thanks for this. I'll make sure to have test results of this nature included in any future updates. Here's the result for v2.1.0.1. I'll find out what PUA.Spyware.XPCSpyPro is.

Virustotal gives the all clear. Lots of good info. The file mentioned by jotti is listed at the bottom of the 'Additional Info' tab (Windows .exe) but it doesn't cause a failure.

Could you also please provide a non-installer version? I'm sure some people would prefer it, including me. Thanks!
