There are a number of geocaching facebook pages, including

https://www.facebook.com/groups/287679991282216/ which seems to focus on physical coins

https://www.facebook.com/geocoincrypto/ which hasn't posted since Dec '16. Is this the site of somebody on this thread?

https://www.facebook.com/geocoin.cash/ likewise February 2016 last post?

https://www.facebook.com/gc4all/ physical caching coins again

https://www.facebook.com/PublicTrackableDiscoverList/ not sure what this is

and others

Is there an official Facebook site for this coin?

*

By Google trends, search interest in geocaching seems to have peaked in 2006 https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=geocoin,geocache but follows a clear cyclical pattern with the last trough in December '16.

A person who studies charts might look at the short term peak in July '16, higher than the previous peak in Aug 15, and the first 'double peak' that very distinctively favors the second peak, and say the trend is ready to turn up.

It would be interesting if geocoin were to coincide with this upturn.

*

I have never tried geocaching, nor tried to use the wallet and have no idea if the technology is real. And if it is real, and the wallet works, I have no idea if there is or isn't some other terminal flaw in this project. Everything looks good, and the coin does look cheap, but a person should research and test the project to the best of their ability/interest. It seems odd that the coin is so cheap and there may be some reason for that.

GEO deserves 100 million market cap. I'm glad to see it coming along
Geo should accept segwit and then 20-30 million reach will be easy
And by the way I always believe in GEO even when it has been delisted from polo

hmmm yeah maybe segwit is a good idea for GEO
Yes I'm intrigued by the segwit idea as well, we'll have to investigate this idea further.

Tested some browser compatibility last night on my mobile device, as a result I will tweak a few parameters for the camera perspective controls to help adjust the camera settings easier on mobile.

Very honestly, it looks like a great coin. If it works, and I believe it does, then it should be very successful.

But could one of the developers clarify any connection it might have with dubaicoin? The similarities defy chance and it would be better to clarify if there was some connection between the two coins.

I strongly support geo, own a fair amount, and hope it does well if it is a decent coin. The dubaicoin overlap is either clarifiable or it is something that needs to be covered up?

Looking at the post above the only similarities I see between GEO and Dubaicoin is blocks numbered 2-100 for (instamine protection).  All the other coin settings seem to differ in terms of mining algorithm, numbers of blocks, block reward and even the decrease in block reward over time.

If you look back, GEO was originally planned to be an X11 algorithm based coin, but after some constructive feedback from the community it was decided to switch to the Qubit mining algorithm.  Since launch the GeoCoin project has developed and delivered the Google Maps GeoCashing interface and we are very close to launching the new and improved MapBox interface shortly.

Hope that helps clear some things up!

Last night I was able to customize the physical trackables popups.  I also cleaned up a few remaining bugs with the Camera Perspective Controls and 3D Buildings.

Both suprnova and miningpoolhub are creating blocks like crazy, all orphans.

Someone is attacking the network with huge hashrate, invalidating / rejecting all other blocks from the pools... And due to the miners spread on so many pools, no one can compete.

You may have to implement a change to prevent this attacks to retarhet difficulty. :/
