Although it hasn't happened with this coin, there have been a few coins that had sudden jumps in supply, and it turned out somebody had found a way to make extra coins. It's good to watch the blockchain, and most importantly to try and be diversified enough that you do not get wiped out if one coin goes belly up. Always diversify.
Very true. Likewise, it appears that the blockchain was misunderstood by me. It represents both purchases and transfers and also the mining of coins. The miners are usually receiving 1 coin, not the 72,000 that I saw. Whoever has that amount, I guarantee you, they are wealthy beyond measure if they keep it for the next 6 months. The really big addresses usually belong to exchanges. Bittrex and Cryptopia probably each have the biggest wallets on the blockchain, and Poloniex probably still has a large wallet. The devs and people who work hardest on the coin usually have a lot of coins to motivate them. This coin looks like it should do well. the idea behind it is exactly the kind of thing that becomes a fad. Wake up one morning and there is mention of it on a tv show, then a few hours later the network is so flooded with new people that nothing works. Then of course the government will step in and fix it and it will really be broken. Wait and see.

I have all my funds stuck on other coins and want to buy more geo. Should I wait to buy more or sell some of my other coins and buy more geo now? Do I have time, is pretty much what I'm asking all the geo enthusiasts who have been here since day 1

So what is the limit for GeoCoins? What is the total amount of GeoCoins that can be available?
I think you should check the first page Hey, first page does not say. When is the app coming out? When is the bata test over?

I can't seem to figure out how to mine this coin. What is the mining software that I should use? And what is the script that I should write? I have never used a GPU miner. Please help. Thank you.

Yeah, I tried using it.... but for some reason, my .bat file is not loading. You just download the GPU miner from GitHub and create a new TXT file, then import the information it states on SuperNova and change the user.miner and then password. Right? Then change the TXT file for a BAT file and run. But whenever I run the file, it does not run. It just opens for a split second and automatically closes.

Instead of using a bat file you can use command line to run the individual commands. Then you should receive any error messages that occur without the window closing. Hope it helps figure out which command is not working properly. Here's what I've been using, note it says -k qubitcoin, see if that helps setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 sgminer -k qubitcoin -o stratum+tcp://geo.suprnova.cc:6009 -u Weblogin.WorkerName -p WorkerPassword -I 16 -g 4 -w 128 --difficulty-multiplier 256

Can you please post a download to the one that you use? I just simply downloaded one and created a new TXT document and pasted the information you provided and only changed the weblogin.workername and password. I also keep -k qubitcoin in there.

Well, I just downloaded the SGMiner 5.3.1 for Windows 64 bit, and it seems to be working.... but I often get errors. I get some accepted messages and errors. So far I have not mined anything.... :/

You will need to do your research for your mining hardware to find the right settings, a lot of testing may be required to find the balance. Glad you got a new miner working

The blockchain is used to track all the mining and transactions similar to other cryptocoins. Please read the OP for more on the GeoCoin specs. The current block reward is 1 GEO per block.

We are currently working through some issues with the backend that have been identified during our ongoing beta testing. I plan to update our home landing page shortly to use the new MapBox interface. We've also been brainstorming for more exciting future developments for the GeoCoin project.

The first page a stranger lands on leaves them confused and wondering what all those colors are about. First should be a page for the simplest non crypto types. Less than 500 words in big print with no word over two syllables.

Pictures are much more descriptive than words.
