Launch: 7:00 AM Monday, January 19, 2015 UTC

GeoCashing Website: http://geocoin.cash/
PoL GEO Drops Interface: https://geocoin.cash/pol

The goal of the GeoCoin project is to bring GIS & GeoTechnologies to the blockchain.  By developing our upcoming Mapbox GeoCashing interface, users will be able to 'mine' GEO through Proof-of-Location (PoL).  This process involves turning on your smartphone GPS and navigating to the location on the map to earn the GEO!

The total GeoCoin supply is capped at 4,000,000 GEO, and there are currently 3,170,551 GEO in circulation.  The end of the Proof of Work mining produced a total of 3,401,125 GEO by block #1,568,125.  The remaining 598,875 GEO will be used to drop onto the map, adding to the Circulating Supply at a rate of approximately 50,000 GEO per year.  Head on over to the GeoCashing website and register now to prepare for the upcoming launch.

Don't see any GEO nearby? No problem! Head to our new PoL GEO Drops Interface, pan and zoom into your local area and drop a magnet. This magnet will attract GEO to nearby places!

Specs

Platform: Ubiq
Token Standard: ERC20
Mining Algorithm: Proof-of-Location (PoL)
Circulating Supply: 3,170,551 GEO
Total Supply: 4,000,000 GEO
Inflation Rate: Approx. 50,000 GEO / year

Contracts > Watch Token: 0x500684ce0d4f04abedff3e54fcf8acc5e6cfc4bd

GeoCoin is an ERC20 Token on the Ubiq Network.  All the balances from our original POW blockchain were captured in block #1,568,125 in January 2018 and migrated over to the Ubiq Network.  The original POW blockchain is now considered developer abandoned.  Any coins mined on the original POW blockchain after block #1,568,125 will not be supported on the Ubiq Network.

Your geominer sounds really interesting. Do you have a time frame for these developments?

I will be mining.

I'm also very interested in the geominer as all the crypto I have mined to date seems like a ton of pointless calculation.  Thanks for the updated ANN. I will be mining.

Ok, just to be clear, you are launching with none of your features ready to go? Then what is the damn point? Why not have an ICO while you are at it?

This post sums up why all this bullshit is a scam

Why is the block reward so low? And also how will the premine be used? Will the premine address be made public for the community to see?

That's correct. Features will be developed following the release of the coin. They will be developed more or less in order shown in the road map. The point is to change the world and in doing so become a multi-million dollar market cap in a few years.

The block reward is high compared to what it will be in 10 months. The premine is mainly for developments and promotions and hopefully some more GIS professionals will come on board and can get paid a little amount for a lot of work. GIS people often like to work on open source projects for free though so it's good. The address can be made public.
