Looks like he's grasping at straws to find something newsworthy.
He's not grasping at straws. It's deliberate to generate as much attention as possible. Doesn't matter whether that attention is hope or antagonism. It all amounts to the same thing according to Guerbuez's MO.
The only way someone would be hyping significant inside information is if:
[1] - it was genuine and he had been contracted to do so as part of the 'pre-launch PR' so to speak
[2] - it was part of some personal agenda that had nothing to do with the overall interests of the industry
[3] - there was some genuine leak but he's blowing it out of all proportion and it ends up in anti-climax for everybody
ALL the hype-merchant chatter in this sector to date is of type [2] or [3]. If it was (to use the cliche) Amazon announcing they were accepting Bitcoin or something, they would not use this approach because it's too seedy for a serious commercial enterprise.
Just sayin - don't expect any fireworks from this (apart from maybe a bit of red mist on the part of investors).
