List known scam websites here (please leave out the http:// part so the forum doesn't parse them into clickable links).
Sanitize links like this: hxxp://scamwebsite[.]com That should keep links from being active as well. But your way is much easier.

Hey tomatocage, You put 999dice in the top of the list! I know you are a logical man! Can you explain how exactly is it a scam? Asking because I have seen players making 20 BTC from 0.05 and 1+ BTC from 0.0002! Thank you!

Read dooglus' reply! He said they could possibly scam by that method! But you can always make it on your side by not betting in the same pattern Edit: doog said you can win them if they try to cheat by breaking the betting pattern!

Read dooglus' reply! He said they could possibly scam by that method! But you can always make it on your side by not betting in the same pattern True, they could possibly scam by that method, but it seems pretty suspicious. For example, why the need to press a button every time you want to verify the seed? Also, 999dice has since changed their system.... And replaced it with another flawed one. (See this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=971447) They could easily look at another dice sites provably fair system (like just-dice) and copy their transparent system. I'm not accusing 999dice of anything, like you said, they might not be scamming at all, but it is fishy.

ALL free hosts and domains should be avoided. How the hell can you trust someone who won't bother to spend $2 - $3 on a domain and $10 monthly for some cheap hosting?

I was on Google a while ago and saw this: Curious, I decided to click it and the site looks exactly like Blockchain.info but the links are non-functional. There are no charts, no block explorer, just a page to log in and enter your details. Because of this, it's quite possible that the site is a phishing scam.

They usually get taken down pretty quick but keep popping back up. I guess adwords coupons are still easy to get at a very good discount or people are using stolen cards to pay for clicks.

It has many of these kinds of scamming sites out there on google.when you sear'skrill/neteller for bitcoin or wmz/PM' these kind of exchanges,it always bumps up those sites.I used to test on a site called payexim and got scammed 0.03 BTC,they never paid me back some neteller or skrill. And their phone listed on sites can never be connected when you call. So I sum up some experience that all these kinds of sites has a same feature is that they always advertings they got huge reserve on all virtual E-currencies like on skrill, neteller, webmoney, perfect money etc and with low exchange rates to lure people to get scammed. So beware.

TC, what do you think of developing a simple browser plug in that would alert users if the site they are visiting could be a scam? We could allow legendary members to contribute to the database. Of course this would only work if we could promote it in the B&H section...

I bet you can't fit all the scam sites in one post, there are SO many here and it is too hard to keep track of them. Right now what is popular is the HYIPs, and there is a thread which outlines all of the active ones and the risk level. The scams like exchanges can only be predicted since they haven't crashed or taken money yet.

Of course this would only work if we could promote it in the B&H section... This is a FANTASTIC idea. Have a form for suggesting scams, and then only TRUSTED users preselected are allowed modifying it, but the community can vote or explain how they got scammed. That would save people a lot of money. Especially warning people that "this site is a HYIP, click HERE to read info about it" < stuff like that could help people lose a lot less money
