I have troubles trying solo mining.

My OS is Ubuntu, so I had to build bbqcoin from source. I've grabbed the source from https://github.com/Cubox-/BBQCoin.git, installed required dependencies and have built the binary.

Here is my bbqcoin.conf:

server=1
testnet=0
daemon=1
gen=0
rpcuser=mi1
rpcpassword=87135c634ec8867f

bbqcoind successfully started and downloaded all the blocks.

When the miner connected, no matter what particular miner, I've tried cgminer, bfgminer and cpuminer, bbqcoind write this message to debug.log:

accepted connection 127.0.0.1:47143

PROCESSMESSAGE MESSAGESTART NOT FOUND

And some time later miner writes: "HTTP request failed: Operation timed out after 30001 milliseconds"

How to deal with the troubles?

You also have to set rpcport and rpcallowip

EDIT: wtf is up with that password? :O

Oh! Thank you so much! It works now.

This password is not the real password. Just string.

I think it'll look cooler if you combine the bqc one on the bottom with one of those on top. Looks better than then present logo though  Smiley

 Is there an online wallet? I hate downloading this much blocks and waiting for it.

 I have tried joining a pool but it seems like i have the 'minerd executable' problem , I can't seem to join any pool so far. I am going solo for now but if anyone is willing to help me direct to the right way of fixing this problem and help me join a pool , I would be very glad.

Just read this: "I asked neotrix if he is going have BQC on crypto-trade.com and he said that it is going to be supported "

Would be nice...
But the message was brought by a newbie with 3 posts.
Could be just pumping up the price.

I have sent a PM to Neotrix to ask about the exchange.

If it is going to support bbqcoin then I will have to make a few changes to my website.

It needs updating aswell, to add a lot more information.

If I take the number of outstanding blocks and multiply that by 42, I get a little over 16 million BQC that are outstanding.

Does the fact that this chain was attacked early on affect this number?

Just trying to figure out how many coins are probably out there floating around.  In addition, I would imagine a bunch were probably destroyed when most considered this to be dead early on.

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th.  The Attorney: I would advise you do that.  Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor?  The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law.

I agree and so does Cubox that a large portion of BBQcoin will have been lost mainly due to people mining for a while and then forgetting about it, deleting the client and wallet in the process. Cubox even told me that he had a wallet with 300,000 of them in a while back but lost the wallet.

BBQcoin has been a project that was forgotten about for a long time.

Until a few months ago.

I guess you could check the timestamps on the blocks to find out if there were any spans of time during which BBQcoin was "forgotten about",

My impression was that it was pretty much always running, even though probably most people who ran it just CPU-mined some number of coins they felt were enough of a stash to store away against some possible future time when the coin moved on from the early adopter CPU-mining stage to being dominated by GPU miners keeping the difficulty too high for CPUs.

Like Satoshi said, it makes no sense to ever delete a wallet, just stash them away in some dusty old repositories of backups in case some day they ever turn out to be useful. Since it is not old enough for even floppy disks people might have backed them up onto to have degraded from age it is pretty safe to say the vast majority of coins are surely safely stored in wallets in case they are ever worth the time it takes to go rummaging through your stashes of backup media looking for the disks or USBs or whatever that you happened to stash those particular files on.

I also know of lots of groups who have BBQcoins on their books at whatever nominal value they feel reasonable to list them at, as just another part of their inventory of assets.

I have not yet added the collated data to my historic tables and plots of asset values because I am still watching what values the collation routines obtain for that coin to get an idea of whether they seem sane before going to the trouble of pouring them into the archives of value and adding them to the scripts that build those web pages from the archival data, but for example right now I am being told the value is 0.96408952 DVC per BBQ.

That means I could probably pick up a few million - or maybe even several million - of them for that price, but I suspect as players start hearing about some outside the game exchange(s) offering better prices they are likely to start increasing their ideas of how much they are worth.

For comparison, the same cycle of value collation claims that GRouPcoins are worth 0.05756194 DVC each and I0Coins are worth 0.04324450 DVC each, so evidently BBQcoin are already imagined to be worth more than either GRouPcoins or I0Coins though not as much as DeVCoins.
