Pool is not ready at the moment - still testing - hope to be ready @ launch !
Dos that mean that there is a chance the pool won't be ready at the leunch?

Yes - but i am positive to have everything working until then, currently cpu miners are a bit too slow to get accepted shares, gpu testing already works
Will the GPU miner be ready in less than 11 hours? Because I'll have left to go to school after that time. Sad

I dont know, i am just the pool guy Wink

djm34 is doing CUDA - but CUDA only runs on Nvidia devices, OpenCL runs on everything, so everyone who doesn't have an Nvidia device would be fucked, but thankfully, it's not faster than a CPU thus far.
Well that's good to know. Are you working on an OpenCL miner? And if so, will it be ready in 11 hours?

OpenCL runs like crap on Nvidia  Roll Eyes
I may do an opencl kernel for amd once I am done with the cuda version... but more donation to the address for gpu miners in the OP would be good too...

If a CUDA miner will be available at launch, is it worth it at all for miners with CPUs to mine? Will the GPUs not be raping the hash? Also, many miners have invested in AMD because it was superior at the time for GPU mining the other algos. Only a small section of miners will have Nvidia cards. Will it not be better to hold off on the GPU mining to give the normal guy in the street a chance to get some coins for a fair launch and only release the GPU miners when the diff is high in a few days or weeks?

It sort of defeats the purpose to create a CPU mineable coin and push that feature and then push hard for GPU miners to be available at launch even before CPU mining has started. Then the dev could just as well have skipped CPU mining completely and develop something for GPU miners only and release it when GPU miners are ready.

I guess it depends on what the purpose is of this test and if the data required can be obtained through CPU mining and if GPU mining is a necessity for getting the data. The only reason I can think of for pushing for GPU miners at launch, is to enable a few miners to outperform CPU miners to get most of the blocks when diff is low. I cannot think of a scientific reason why GPU mining is a necessity at launch that cannot be achieved later on in the process.

the test with the built-in miner gave me 3 blocks in 6 minutes.

is it normal?

yes but i perform test on the testnet. my "test" wallet is able to sync and i succesfully mine 3 blocks.
the problem is: only the built-in miner found me some blocks.

is wolf-pluckminer-generic64 able to find blocks on the tesnet?

I would agree with you if the algo wasn't memory hard (so that I could rape the coin alone  Grin... which is mostly what you are writing without knowing it), however the gpu aren't doing that well...
