Should be rather something like "20".. If you do 34 its 14 * 8 times higher, so 4k diff is not 4k, it is 448 Million

That's the target limit. That is a bottom for the diff. 3000 diff corresponds to >> 44.

hmm.. but if you compare with every other sha256 coin:

That's a low diff for instamining. We can try it. I'll keep the starting diff at >> 44 and then put the target limit at >> 20. I doubt that will work, but OK.

The genesis or block 1 won't change because the diffs will be the same. They are essentially hardcoded.

But the sources are updated and here is a windows build (the version number stayed the same for expediency).

Nope, that CANNOT work, as expected, since your genesis block was already mined with the wrong diff:

fonziecoind: main.cpp:2654: bool LoadBlockIndex(bool): Assertion `block.GetHash() == (!fTestNet ? hashGenesisBlock : hashGenesisBlockTestNet)' failed.


You'll HAVE to recompile everything with the right diff and create a new genesis block.


I'd recommend the following steps:

1. Set a new countdown for the next 8-10 hours
2. Mine a new genesis
3. Test all the stuff
4. Launch flawlessly later...

Everything else is just "Fonzie" IMHO ;-)

IMHO 2 days for that minor issue is a bit long... but..  You're the dev..

And believe, that IS the problem, nothing else.. You'd just need a new genesis block now and you'd be good

It should just say waiting for work from available pools if your running cgminer or a variant, Once the wallet is back online the work will be picked up by your miner.


I've done this many times when my internet drop sometimes and i don't realise but it still stays open till it reconnects

Why not run with it now? Miners will just lose 1 hour of rental.
