I have several workers that are connected to coinlab, and claim to be submitting shares......but are not listed on the worker page.

Any ideas what is going on?  More importantly, where are the shares going?

We solved this issue, but the underlying cause hasn't been fixed yet.  If anyone has a high number of workers and isn't seeing an estimated hashrate for one of their workers, let me know and we can fix it manually in the mean time. Fix should be out in the next week or two - we're nose to the grindstone on the HPC client now.

I have only 4 workers.  the site shows the right data for a second, then when the graph comes in, it reverts to an old dataset.

but the ?style=raw page is OK.   so much for the fancy css and graphs.

we're nose to the grindstone on the HPC client now.

Also, if you have linux machine(s) with NVIDIA cards, please send us a message telling us what models and how many you have. Our first HPC customer's current kernel (gene sequencing!) has a bug when run on AMDs.  We're going to try to get them to prioritize a fix on this, but we can get them online fastest if we can find 64 linux boxes with NVIDIA cards in them.  Thanks!

Just curious to know how many have contacted you about having nvidia linux settups.

I would be willing to set up a couple of rigs if i knew more information about the work and what it pays.

edit:
if we can find 64 linux boxes

do you mean 64 rigs?  or 64bitlinux?

I am curious, just went and looked at some nvidia's at newegg (for the first time ever Wink )

Chipset Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Core Clock: 980MHz
Boost Clock: 1058MHz
CUDA Cores: 1344
Model #: GV-N670OC-2GD

Are the CUDA cores similar to amd's stream processors?

I'm interested in a hardware mining comparison based on your client and Nvidia cards.

Hey Miners,

Fun announcement!  Today we start our Miner PPS Rate Elasticity Experiment.

For the next couple of weeks, we will be periodically changing the PPS rate without warning.  The PPS rate will always be at least 95%, but will occassionally spike up to as high as 200% PPS.

Why are we overpaying?
We want to learn how PPS rates affect miner behavior.  We want to know how much we'd need to pay to get a given number of machines on our pool and in what time-frame.  In order to do this, we'll be adjusting the PPS rate periodically, watching to see how our miners respond and how quickly.

These fluctuations in PPS rate will simulate how we anticipate HPC earnings rates will vary.  Sometimes there will be bursts of very high-paying work, sometimes there will be moderate-rate longer jobs, and sometimes we'll fall back on Bitcoin mining (the lowest rate).

We'll give up to 200% PPS for short periods (about an hour)
We'll give more moderate PPS bonuses (100-120% range) for longer periods (multiple hours)
EDIT: We've decided that it is better to announce rate changes as they happen.
We'll only announce bonus rates AFTER the fact - if you want to get the best rates, you'll have to check yourself.
If miners want to post in this thread when they notice a bonus is happening, that is totally fine, but CoinLab will not announce it.
Miners earning the 97% bonus will continue getting their bonus in addition to this rate bonus.

How do I check the current PPS rate?
We've added current PPS rate to the web stats interface here:
http://pool.coinlab.com/partners/protected

It might be above 95% at the time of this post...  Wink

My question would be, why do you have to 'get it there'  isn't it the same page without styling???

also what about the json stats are they right too??

I think we specifically included the elements that had data in them, so the new element containing the PPS rate was not included.

It looks like the JSON API is caching PPS Rate, so the new rate hasn't updated yet.  Sending this to the devs as well.

My bad, i thought it was the exact same page but without the style sheet included.

The first Bonus period is over!  We gave out 107% PPS for 3 hours.  Thanks for participating, and keep an eye out for the next bonus coming soon!

Also, payouts are going out now.

Yes, they should be. We should be able to get this fix done tomorrow, Wednesday at the latest, unless something big comes up.

Monday payouts have been sent out.

The Alpha client is nearing completion!  We're going to have a rough version for Windows miners to start testing by the end of the week if everything goes as planned.

Also, we just finished a half hour at 120%, as AmDD noted.  We were going to do 15 minutes at 180%, but our internal admin interface has a safety feature that prevents us from going above 120%!  We'll remove  this safety tomorrow, so expect even higher bonus rates.  Cheers!

request for info:

When  the difficulty changes in the middle of a week, we have a hard time knowing how many shares are at the old rate vs the new rate.

Now with even more uncertainty as to how much each share is worth, AND the upcoming work at who knows what rate. I for one would like to ask that a page be created that shows how much each worker makes at what exact pps.  I am not looking for anything pretty, just a dump to a table of workers, number of shares, and how much per share.

Is this possible?
