I've received a lot of orders - still have a bit of inventory but it's quickly dwindling. Any order received tonight will definitely ship tomorrow AM. Absolutely. I received a couple other PMs about this, allow me to explain (this was originally in my OP, but it seemed very lengthy and I edited it to be a bit more brief). I first ordered one from Canary last week, then upped it to two. Almost immediately after paying him, I decided I wanted more than that, and that I wanted to order directly from friedcat. I kept my order with Canary in the hopes that I might get a mix of colors (I'm trying to get all four!). If you read more into that thread, you'll actually see that, oddly enough, Canary has not even received that group buy yet (based on his tracking status, I expect him to receive it today). I received my order Friday and am ready to ship a lot of units. I assure you if that's your reason for not trusting me, it's unfounded; I have not received any units from Canary and the hardware in my pictures is from my own direct order. I'm keeping many for myself, and have been "testing the sales waters" by selling the remainder for immediate shipment. I was trying to determine if there was a demand for such a service and oh boy is there!

Let me be clear: I absolutely understand the concern with a low-rep member coming on here and saying "hey, buy this!". I do not blame anyone if they're scared off (I would absolutely not trust myself yet, but I'm a nervous guy), but I assure you all in a day or two when all of the users who have ordered from me start posting feedback to this thread and bitmit, hopefully you'll see that I'm in this to help the community by providing a good service WITHOUT pre-orders. That's the big reason why I've included my bitmit auction - look at my small but positive feedback there and, in addition, use their escrow service! I'll gladly pay the fee for your protection there!

Regarding pictures - my current picture was just to show the packing slip from friedcat and the color options that I have. As many have suggested, I will most definitely be taking a new picture today of all of these pretty miners in boxes, ready to ship. Hopefully at that point it will be clear that I'm legit. I'll likely sell out today but expect my inventory to be replenished by friedcat by mid-week.

I did ask friedcat to post in this thread saying that I did in fact just re-order from him, but he's, understandably, a busy guy and I'm not sure if he'll get around to it. I sent the request via email to the same address I've placed my two orders through.

When you receive the Avalon chips, at what price will you be selling the K16's for?

so the same price as a jalapeno, but 1/30th of the hashing power.

Also available now. The Jalapeno isn't. If you were to order from BFL now there is no telling when you would receive it, what the difficulty will be then, and what the break-even timeline looks like. You are comparing apples and oranges.

I made a sale on there today, completed my end of the transaction, and still haven't received any funds, which is a bit concerning. I'm hesitant to continue on that site until I hear some good feedback or I get my money! Support has not responded yet.

This! A million times - this! I don't want this thread to turn into a debate about profitability, preorder predictions, is BFL a scam, etc - the whole point is that if you want this product, I will ship it to you! What good is even discussing ASICs like the jalapeno if it hasn't shipped? I've had tens of thousands of dollars tied up in preorders (including jalapenos!) for now nearly a year - trust me, I'm just as frustrated. I could have used that money and invested in ASICM at the same time and be a millionaire right now. That's the whole reason this thread exists though, to cut through the bullshit and make a very straight offer - a real physical ASIC in your hands as early as tomorrow for a fair price.

And if you can put a batch of jalapenos in my hands to sell in the same manner, I'll put them in inventory and sell them too!

Am I not to respond to concerns in my own thread just because they reference other users?

I re-read my answer to GuiltySpark343 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=223916.msg2359431#msg2359431) and nowhere do I see an innuendo; it's a fact - DHL did not deliver the group buy to you on Friday! This was an important fact in establishing my case that the two miners pictured in my OP were not from your group buy. Someone else went out and did research, found out on a public forum that I had placed an order with you and simply inquired as to my legitimacy. I answered his question as clearly and concisely as possible, mentioning all relevant players and publicly visible facts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=217981.msg2331918#msg2331918).

I hope my thread is not being viewed by you or other group buyers as a threat - on the contrary - we serve two different types of buyers. You serve buyers who are not craving a product in their hands immediately and who are comfortable with a pre-order of sorts and, in exchange, get that product for a slight discount (as a reminder, I was such a buyer last week!). I, on the other hand, serve buyers who see value in having a product shipped within 24 hours of parting with their money, even if at a slight premium. There is reasoning and value behind both types of purchases.

If in the future, you have an issue with the way I'm conducting business on my own thread, I think a more professional approach would be to work it out via PM.

I don't think either one of us is making a killing doing these sales, we're both just doing it for the good of the community. I wish you success in serving your buyers and I appreciate you wishing me the same!

Woohoo! I'm so happy to read that! I had a feeling others were as frustrated with preorders as I was and put all of my savings on the line to do something about it. Will I significantly make a change to any of the big player's business practices? Likely not. But as long as I'm restoring faith in at least a handful of users, it's all worth it. Buying ASICs does not have to be so painful (nor should it be)!!

What's that one cliche saying - vote with your wallet? You guys definitely did that in the past 24 hours - thrilled to continue building up rep while serving such a great community! As proven by my interactions with people at the recent conference in San Jose, I truly believe bitcoin users are the friendliest, most critically sensible group of people I've had the pleasure to interact with.

Sorry, missed this at the bottom of page one. Predicting, especially with ASICs, has proven to be a losers game for me in the past year. Should I receive my K16's in a timely manner, I suppose the price will be what the market bears? No idea what that would be at present - I prefer to focus on hardware that I can touch!

There are companies that will re-ship for you. One I use is myus.com (I'm also in Australia) and have used them for getting stuff from Amazon sellers that only ship to the US.

We confirm that kosmokramer has successfully ordered another 50 USBs from us and they are shipped out.

He's sold out according to the thread subject but I wanted to confirm that, while I haven't received the actual item yet, I've received a tracking number. Looking good!

I just placed an order for one of the 3 that were remaining on BitMit.  BitMit shows the payment as incoming, and I'm currently waiting for their system to show the payment as confirmed on their end - I show 6 confirmations, but I'm not sure how many BitMit requires (this is my first time using them).

Yeah I hear ya, I am debating whether or not to pre order Avalon chips.
The problem I see is that "the market" sometimes has sick prices. Just take a look at what people sell there BFL miners for.
Would hate to pay several hundred bucks extra...

If you can figure out a way to offer credit card, your business would probably double (just from me ;). Maybe from Square (squareup.com)? I can only buy stuff as fast as I earn it. I wasted all my reserves on butterflylabs year-long pre-orders.

I realize there is always a risk of charge-backs, but I would like to +1 this comment.  I would be happy to slap down a credit card for these, and would even take time to verify my ID if need be.  I spent all my bitcoins on Avalon chips, but would love to but an erupter to have blinking around the house.

Given the difficulties to convert USD to BTC, you'd probably need to do a cash advance on your card and then bitinstant via moneygram to buy BTC. So it's doable. Just takes some effort.

I sincerely appreciate your feedback about payment methods. At this time, I can only consider bitcoin as it's the only thing my supplier (friedcat) accepts. Whoa - did I just type that? Yeah!! I would like to point out for others who may not know - for some reason, BitMinter (the client you see pictured there) is reporting twice the expected hashrate for these devices. Just don't want others to be disappointed when theirs is hashing at half (~330 mhash) of what's in the image above!

Interesting bug there. Also, I've seen a few of these notifications, is this normal?

OK, I just finished ordering 20 Miners from Kosmokramer!  I wanted them shipped next day air as I want them hashing ASAP.  Not only did he reply to PM's while he was running around from his phone.  But at one point we actually talked on the phone as he was trying to get my order sorted out.  He then went out of his way to get next day air shipping taken care of for me and even repacked the miners (I think, maybe they weren't packed yet) to make them fit into a smaller box so my shipping costs wouldn't be so much.  Kudos to you sir!  If you were thinking twice about using him to purchase one ... think again Kosmokramer is a stand up guy and as many have posted his stuff does ship and is packed well (my first order from him will be here Friday, yes I made another) and he goes out of his way to make it right.  So I tipped him... he didn't want to make anything off the shipping but DAMNIT HE DESERVED IT!  This is what the Bitcoin community is all about.  Tip the man just a few bitcents it won't hurt.... well done sir, well done.

Haha - not to be corny, but honestly the best tip is just getting orders from such kickass people. It was a pleasure talking with you on the phone earlier! You placed a sizable order and I could only imagine how badly you wanted to make sure they arrived this week, so I really didn't even think twice about it. Glad we got it worked out finally and were able to find a suitable shipping option for your bulk order. I'm still not convinced you don't live on a remote island though! haha

As I've said many times over so far, you guys are all great! My one complaint is escrow not being released on BitMit for orders that are reported as delivered (I need capital to order more!) but I'm trying to remain patient as I know they were just delivered today :)

I've been following the tracking status and I haven't seen an update since it received clearance in Hong Kong. The next stop is LA after that, but there is usually a whole host of status updates between HK and LA, none of which I'm seeing. This means either it missed its flight to LA tonight, or the previous tracking statuses don't update until it lands in LA (around 3am PST). I should know by tomorrow morning - if it made it to LA, it will likely be delivered, but if it's still in HK, it definitely won't arrive until Monday afternoon  :-\  Either way, I'll let you all know tomorrow morning what the outlook is.

I'm now in talks with friedcat about yet ANOTHER order which would be estimated to arrive mid next week, but I'm trying to get an idea of what the demand looks like. Would any of you care to chime in so me/friedcat can get an idea of the remaining demand in the US? I know there's demand, just trying to gauge how much hardware needs to be immediately available state-side to fill it!

linux mining is easy get cgminer 3.1.1 and a powered usb hub...

sudo ./cgminer-nogpu http://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u XXXXX -p password --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S /dev/ttysUSB0 (or 1 or 2 or 3 or whatever usb it ends up as being)  

version 3.2 and up are supposed to be auto detect but when I tried it they didn't work so you need -S  I think there is a new version but I haven't tested yet...

if ya have any more questions lemme know if I can help.. I have 3 going on linux right now and and 10 more scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Without turning this sales thread into hardware/software support, I'd just like to mention that if you're trying to get up and running ASAP, BitMinter mining pool (and their free java client) work with these things very well. You'll need to get these drivers  (http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx), create a BitMinter (http://bitminter.com) account, download their java client, and you should be all set.

For further advice/instructions, search for other threads specific to mining with ASICs or FPGAs.

Granted, I just discovered the "trust" tool a few days ago, but it's my understanding that trusted feedback is from members who are already in the elite pool of trust in this community. For example, OgNasty is one of the trusted members around here, and he made a comment that I served him well, so they separate his comment from yours because perhaps his carries more weight, as he's a very trusted user.

Untrusted feedback is still good, but it doesn't carry as much weight as trusted. I could get my family to create accounts here and say as many warm and fuzzy things as possible about me, but it would all, justifiably, go under the untrusted feedback section.

Ok, well that makes sense. When you look at someone's trust profile, they separate the feedback you're reading based on who's opinion YOU trust (or who's opinion they, be default, think you should trust) and who's opinion you may or may not trust (untrusted). So they suggest that you trust OgNasty's opinion of me and clearly you can trust your own opinion, so they both appear under "trusted".

It's the same with me - when I view your trust profile, my feedback for you appears under "trusted" - because (hopefully) I can trust my own opinion of you.

I've got some exciting news guys! I was able to work with BitMit support to change my weird user name (d500blahblahblah) to match my bitcointalk name! Less confusing - yay!
In addition, I provided them personal information, including my company's business license/articles of incorporation and I am now a verified BitMit seller! Pretty exciting!

I've been trying for some time now to work with BitPay to get my sales website up and running, but they are just ridiculous. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but they won't give me the time of day. Meanwhile, Joachim at BitMit is bending over backwards to help me clean-up my seller profile, change username to match BT, same-day verification, answer questions, etc .... although BitMit's fees are much higher than BitPay, I still prefer them due to outstanding customer service.

 BTCGuild is kinda huge :| I might recommend any pool other than BTCGuild just to spread the hashrate around a bit more. I used to mine there until they hit ~40% or so a while back and switched to another pool.

BitPay Approval Update: BitPay is going to try to work on my account approval, but they cannot continue until I buy and install an EV SSL Certificate even though I'm using their shopping cart and payment processing. Yes, you read that right, even though my website will be collecting no sensitive information or taking any orders in (remember, that's their back-end doing that on their servers), they are going to require that I buy and install one of the most expensive SSL certs ($500+ per YEAR) that exists. All because some of our business involves re-selling ASICs.

Ack - how am I supposed to afford a $500+ cert? Not to mention, it takes at least a couple weeks to acquire such certification. So silly.

I thought bitcoin was supposed to be the future of eCommerce - with low startup costs and minimal fees. Ha!

I haven't tried it, but BTC-E accepts deposits from a few places such as OKPay, which I did set up with a while ago. OKPay can accept from MoneyGram and Western Union. So maybe using OKPay instead of Bitinstant to get funds into BTC-E is the easiest option (or one of the others on BTC-E's own list.)

Dwolla works too but that's only bank ACH which take 3-4 days to deposit.

Hi Easy! I'm not sure what the new order format will look like quite yet - still ironing out the details. I had many users (you were an exception) that held onto escrow waaaay longer than I'm comfortable with (some are STILL holding onto it), so I'm considering eliminating escrow. I hopefully have enough trust on here at this point that lack of escrow is a non-issue.

I'm expecting a call from BitPay either today/tomorrow to work out the new account details (there were definitely some miscommunications re:my account, not pointing fingers, but it's getting resolved quickly with the right people). Here's what I'm thinking at the moment:

• Order qty < 5, place order through new BitPay account or BitMit depending on who gives me a better rate (price will likely be ~2.23 per unit + shipping)
• Order qty > 5, order directly through me, likely through Coinbase-generated invoice (price will likely be ~2.2 per unit + shipping, or less depending on qty you order)

How do you all feel about ordering hardware that is en route to me but not yet delivered? Part of me feels like that's still pre-order-ish, but another part says I'd be much more prepared for faster shipments by the time it actually does arrive (labels printed, boxes ready, etc). I'm indifferent, but just want to give you guys the best service at a level you're comfortable with.

Glad I found this, but sorry that I don't have the bitcoins available right now.  Being able to order knowing the item is in stock and ready to ship is just what I'm looking for, but having to figure out the USD to BTC transaction is something I'm trying to avoid.  (Especially since the options seem to change daily!)  Still, I'll take a look at bitinstant and maybe place an order soon.

Yes! I've reviewed my incoming shipments and I have plenty to cover more orders. I haven't counted it all up, but I'd say I'm 60-70% sold ... however, the pace isn't really slowing down. I've been sending quotes/invoices and collecting shipping data all morning, and am still far behind. Boy am I glad I started accepting orders before tomorrow - there's no way I would have had time to process all of these orders if I hadn't started accepting a bit early today!

I think keeping this thread in custom hardware is rather important to the community.  What better place to learn about the economy of custom bitcoin hardware than to see first hand the interest others have in purchasing ASICs?

Alright guys - lots of packages went out today! Thanks so much for placing orders far in advance yesterday - even still, two of us were up until about 6am opening, testing (two duds), re-packing, packaging, labeling, taping ... the whole works. Running on fumes now.

I may end up changing some of the shipping cutoff terms to make life bearable. Right now I'm moving the sun and stars trying to make sure your shipments go out same-day if at all possible, but as more and more orders go out every day, that's becoming harder to do.  I'd prefer to have everything ready for shipment the night before, say by 8pm, so I can do this all in assembly line format for a few hours and ship in the morning. Essentially, if you order within (slightly extended) business hours, your order ships out next day.

I'll try to settle on some new terms and update the OP in the next day or two. I do have a (pretty flexible) full-time job, so the only times I can hit it hard are evenings really. Doing my best to keep up and I feel so far I have! Keep coming back here with feedback.

After packing erupters until ~4am again, I've determined revised shipping terms:

Orders placed before 8pm (PST) will ship out the next business morning. Special exceptions may be made to this for larger orders or customers who tip :)

With a full-time job, it's quite difficult to receive an order at noon, process/pack it, and make a second trip to the post office just for that order. I just have to create a cutoff point at sometime and 8pm gives me time to process orders for a while and still get some rest before heading to the post office in the morning. Of course I'll still make an effort to ship everything out as soon as is possible, but these revised terms should help to set clear expectations for everyone.

Curious as to why my 1 Block Erupter is showing up at double the hashrate in BitMinter. Is this just a bug? It shows the same in both the stable and beta versions.

A BitMit update - I have yet to hear a single word from BitMit. Over the past few weeks, I've been in regular contact with Joachim @ BitMit but he's been entirely unresponsive since this scam listing popped up. Here's the series of events:

• Someone told me there was a scam listing
• I assume you guys emailed BitMit first, followed by my clearly worded email directly to Joachim about the concern
• I looked not long ago and see that both listings have been removed (wtf?!?)
• I sent another email to Joachim, but he is not responding, although he clearly knows there is an issue
• Waiting to hear back from Joachim so we can get this worked out and you guys can buy again

Inventory is very low at the moment. I have several users who are interested in "buying everything I have" and I'm dealing with them on a first come/first served basis. It's NOT going to the highest bidder - I don't work like that. I am going in the order that messages are received and that's that.

Please be patient with me (rather, BitMit) as these issues are worked out.

I would advise everyone not to make a single purchase on BitMit until we see how they handle this situation. I'm very concerned about how this is being handled.

I didn't have any others on my machine, so it shows 0-9.

I couldn't get it working with 3.2.1, so I'm using 3.1.1 successfully.

Then here's what I use for my miner command line.  Notice the need for sudo to access the devices.

I got everything worked out with Bitmit and my listing is back up! I am currently sold out though.

6 ASICMiner Erupter USB sticks got here in 3 days.

I am using a RPi running MinePeon-6-11-2013 and mining with CGMiner 3.2.1. I am using the DLink DUB-H7 powered usb 2.0 hub. I tried to using the Plugable usb 3.0 high power hub, but the RPi failed to recognize the AMU devices. I am mining with the 6 - AMU's, 1 - BFL Jalapeno, and 1 - BFL FPGA.

Actually, just so you don't feel so disappointed, if you look closer you will find that most of those are out of the US - many in the Netherlands shipping only to the Netherlands.  Those were part of a group buy from Augusto Croppo - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195540.0.  My sister bought some out of the group buy before she found you.  Now she only wants to buy from you since her group purchase of 15 of them ended up on a rather sour note, and we still don't have the units, but paid for them many weeks ago.

I'm supposed to ask - what are you selling now/next ?  She'll buy some...

Honestly I thought about buying some simply to resell. People who want to buy for USD and don't have access to easily convert to BTC will pay a markup. Didn't end up doing so in the end though. (Partially because I didn't have enough BTC myself. :) )

I'm waiting for a response from ASICMiner. I believe they are getting more of the USB block erupters manufactured, but I have not heard back yet about an ETA. If any of you urgently need hardware, I encourage you to look into group buys that may be close to ordering - they should all be very competitively priced at this point.

I've always respected the professionalism with which you conduct your sales (of which, I've participated in), but these last two posts are exactly why I feel like it's time to have some sort of re-seller agreements (not necessarily 'exclusive', but offer some order and protection for trustworthy sellers).

I am simply requesting some pricing protection as a trusted re-seller. It's hard to stay in business when the product you're selling changes in price so drastically. Details of my request have been emailed to ASICM, which seems appropriate since it is between me and them.

I would encourage anyone who has questions to just PM me (including you, Canary!). I'm a friendly guy, I just want to keep working and providing excellent service. I'm not as complicated and "scheming" as is being implied here!

Touché sir. It definitely appears to be associated with "one" and "single". TIL. I was under the impression that an "exclusive club" was open to a small group of people, not just one person. Hence, exclusive reseller - one of a small group in the US who has earned trust through hard work, dedication, and honesty.

Alas, the case I've been trying to make all along tonight is that I want to continue selling hardware and providing excellent service, but at present, the only way for me to do that is to buy inventory, cross my fingers, and *hope* I don't get undercut tomorrow with a price cut. I didn't start this to gamble, I started to provide a service (same-day shipping) that no one else appeared to be offering at a very fair price. I was under the impression that people enjoyed this service enough to support the transition to a dedicated reseller. I've been up night and day selling, working on a website, getting a BitPay account approved and setup, and all along I've had nothing but glowing feedback since I started. With ASICM's backing and support, I would be able to continue to offer such a service at prices similar to group buys (the best of both worlds), but I have yet to hear a response from them.  I'm simply asking for a little protection - that if I go through the trouble of gauging demand, placing an order, fulfilling orders, etc, they will make sure that I'm never forced to take losses on inventory ever again.

It's one thing to see my personally purchased hardware go on sale today, but it's entirely different to see business' inventory just lose half its value in one day - that seems like it's not conducive to a good reseller relationship and I feel like there must be something done to fix that.

I will continue patiently waiting for a response as I'm sure this has been a hectic day for them.

Based on feedback you've all provided me, I'm convinced customers crave a balance between fast shipping and low prices and one of the best ways to get there is to have a small pool of somewhat exclusive authorized re-sellers who have pricing and sales methods guided by manufacturer. I got pretty close previously as an In-Stock Non-Exclusive Re-Seller, but I just can't offer decent pricing or guaranteed inventory with fear of being undercut (look how wild my prices were at times and how unreliable my inventory was). I'm convinced that if ASICMiner moved to a somewhat exclusive In-Stock Re-Seller model, merchants would be more confident in offering same-day shipping at unbeatable prices and they would hold larger inventories. Of course, I'd love to help with that but only if that's what you guys desire! I have no interest in nudging you to purchase products in a format that you're not absolutely in love with. I don't want to take this the wrong way, but it kinda sounds like you favor a monopoly... which would be bad for customers.  Yeah, you'd be safe and protected, but wouldn't it be negative for all of the monopoly's customers in the end?  I have gotten this sense in multiples of your posts, not just the one I'm quoting.

For what it's worth I feel kosmo used a poor choice in terminology when he said 'exclusive', when I think that maybe 'authorized' would have been better.  Having said that he's been clear from the outset that he wants to offer sales of product from stock, and that's exactly what I want when I'm ready to buy.  He sees this as a somewhat unique niche to fill, but I can't comment on if others are doing it as well as I haven't bothered to look.  I don't think it's unreasonable for him to support this business model with some kind of agreement with friedcat/ASICMiner.  Neither is it unreasonable for him to negotiate better terms based on projected sales, his risk in holding stock, and the convenience it offers ASICMiner.  This is all just standard businesss practice.

I hate pre-orders, am wary of group buys, but am more than happy to buy from stock and have items shipped the next day.  Good luck to you ksomo.

I was going to say this as well, but you beat me to it. :) Although ASICMiner does seem to only have one authorized reseller per country/region so far. But that doesn't mean they aren't open to more than one, of course.

Certainly I see Kosmo's POV though. You don't want to lay out $5K USD to buy 50 miners only to have the sales price cut to half that the day after they arrive. I'm guessing the authorized resellers have some sort of pricing protection in place for unsold stock at the time of a price cut, so there's no carry risk. I'm only speculating though.

This makes the most sense for those who are supplying product and carrying inventory.  Otherwise kosmo would need to charge a hefty premium to cover this risk and the convenience.  As one who has purchased from kosmo, I appreciated the VERY quick delivery at a low markup.

As a burgeoning economy, bitcoin business needs to maintain ethical standards and practices if it hopes to gain widespread acceptance.  In particular, what sets apart virtuous businesses from subpar ventures is the degree of integrity, honesty, transparency, and trust that the entity cultivates from its customer-base.  These are not merely platitudes and they stand as pillars of solvent, successful businesses.  Bitcointalk forums are a testament to the importance of an established trust network for conducting equitable transactions.  

It is apparent that Kosmo has earned his customers' trust from his dedication and diligence over the past few weeks.  While some re-sellers tested the waters by risking their customers funds (e.g., group buys) Kosmo dared to be different and risked his own personal wealth to provide a well-needed service to the community -- selling only those devices that he currently holds in stock.  Time and time again, and to the chagrin of prospective buyers, he resisted temptation and refused to accept pre-orders.  His insistence on protecting the customer at the cost of his potential large gains speaks volumes to his integrity as a businessman.  

Through his steadfastness, tenacity, and self-sacrifice, Kosmo has demonstrated his virtuous nature.  He has tact and civility.  He is responsive and generous.  His remarks are thoughtful and honest.  These are the behaviors of good business practice and the qualities of ethical standards.  If he has one fault, it is that he is ambitious.  But this putative weakness fuels his service and is a benefit to his customers' satisfaction.  We are all challenged everyday, but don't we deserve to reap the fruits of our labor?  I certainly don't think Kosmo intends to monopolize hardware re-sales.  On the contrary, I think the intent behind "exclusivity" was to acknowledge that not all businesses are created equal, and those businesses that support their customers the best should be allowed to continue.  Thus, the exclusive right to re-sell is a privilege bestowed to those who earn it.  Kosmo's request to his customers to PM friedcat was apparently a way of demonstrating that he has earned the privilege to faithfully serve the bitcoin community.  If others are indeed deserving, then they should be honored with this privilege as well.  After all, re-sellers are themselves customers.  Do they not deserve to be treated as such?

Nevertheless, it would appear that ASICM may not be interested in establishing such relationships in the US at this time, as I have not heard a reply. As such, I cannot continue to carry their inventory until this is resolved.

Thank you kosmokramer for your vote of confidence.  I'm working hard to make sure BTC Guild keeps a solid reputation when it comes to handling ASIC delivery.  I just wish I had known that 800 units in stock would sell in under an hour.  Placing a new order for additional inventory now, while accepting additional orders through the BTC Guild store with adequate warning that any new orders are currently waiting for additional units to be delivered.

I've received many many PMs asking the same thing, and I really would prefer to move away from group buys. It's quite uncomfortable for me to hold onto (or give away) customer funds without shipping them a product same day.

I really do recommend BTC Guild (https://www.btcguild.com//index.php?page=store) for now - hoping they can get more in-stock soon!

BTC Guild is definitely a good way to go, they're handling it like pros.  Ordered mine in the first wave, they are arriving and will be mining today (< 72 hours turnround time for US order while he had stock).  Great option for future purchases.

Any chance AM has provided a tracking number so we have a delivery estimate?  Totally selfish reasons for asking, planning some time off in the next ~2 weeks and want to plan it around new hardware showing up so I can get it online before heading out to the country for some tech-free vacationing. :) :)

I've requested a tracking number from friedcat a couple times but have not received one yet. I assume it's shipped and will update the thread with status when/if he makes it available to me.

BTCGuild is good, but for California residence it charges a sale tax, making it less attractive to me.

It just won't get accepted by Win 7. Doesn't even recognize it.  Tried many ports and 2 differet computers that work fine with the others.  All others are hashing away beautifully.

Unfortunately, I don't have any updates beyond what I posted yesterday. friedcat has been paid (https://blockchain.info/tx/1aa6790ce17ac6fcc849c2497185fa7ed9af6b31910616713da9f815d403631d) for group buy #2, but has yet to provide me a tracking number or confirm whether or not the order has shipped. They're out of stock now, but I'd hope since we ordered last week we were well ahead of them running out of stock - hard to say without that tracking number.

While I appreciate a lot the efforts from kosmokramer, I am surprised that ASIC mining did not even reply your queries. Do they want the orders or not, they should at least acknowledge the reception of the order and give a status. Is there any formal way to get the status?

No, it's when friendcat responds.  I got clarification, the 10th is when more inventory is expected to be in-hand for AM, then shipping to fill orders.  Still wish we knew if our orders was showing up before that, *could* have had 20 running right now from a different source.  Yarg! :(

Looks like Eleuthria got hold of enough to fill all his current orders.... (According to what he posted on btc guild thread.) Maybe fried just got busy and looked this one over?   Seems that he has been still filling orders this week.... If so, you said he hasnt grabbed the coins yet, maybe he would be willing to cancel it so we could just send the coins to Eleuthria to fill the order?

I spoke with eleuthria and it seems like he ordered that 1,000 around the same time I paid for group buy #2 - he just got the tracking info for it and it is expected to arrive around Friday. I would imagine we're in a similar position.

He confirmed that communication is significantly delayed, which is consistent with what I'm experiencing. All I can say is hold tight and either wait for word from friedcat or word from me about an unannounced delivery.

Let's not get too worked up about any possible delays. The fact is KosmoKramer has done everything he can, he's been communicating with us clearly, and there's really nothing more we can do but sit tight. I'm secretly hoping that friedcat has run out of inventory, can't fulfill our order, and instead uses the proceeds from this group buy towards the alleged next-generation usb miner. We could either get them cheaper or with more hashing power. Isn't that a scenario to hope for? It'd be nice to get in on the last of these first generation usb miners. But it'd be even cooler to be among the first to hash on the next gen usb miners.

Unless Friendcat is planning to "AsicMiner" us like they did on the 2btc > 1btc price drop, nobody has word of any next gen, they just need to make more.  That's what the 10th is (per Eleuthria in irc a few minutes ago), when FriendCat estimates having inventory again. 

And I don't think anyone is being hard on Kosmo, quite frankly I wouldn't want to be in his shoes being the middle-man when an unexpected delay occurs.   But no sense in moving an order to the Guild, he's only getting enough to cover backorders still, nothing will be available to order > ship yet, best you can do is get in a queue for when he will get *another* order, by which time we'll all be mining on the sticks Kosmo sent to us. :)

I put them away, the cats were getting interested in all the wires.  Interesting though, since I decided to reinvest in things beyond trading (great move considering today, shiiiiiiiit), have shares in a KNC order, got involved in a BFL chip/hardware group buy, have 10 asic lights blinking at me like sexy dollar bills that wink every time they do something good, and got to know all the good folks on this thread while we wait semi-patiently for Friendy-Cat to update folks on inventory.

I think people get uppity because hardware is an arms race.  Like buying a car, before you sign the dotted line it has lost value.  So having it sooner than anyone else is always a win and any delay gets people called scammers, shills, bedwetters, etc.

Nothing hash on kosmo at all, I just don't understand why AsicM does not reply us, I'd expect they do business in a more professional way. Delay with clearly communications will be fine, but no communication is bad.

Sorry, didn't want to be negative. Kramer has been no doubt awesome..  The erupters were flowing out well and then silence from AM on this order. Just discouraging, thats all. From Eleuthria's post it seemed like he may have somehow gotten enough to fill his backorders plus maybe a little extra. Was just throwing out the suggestion and again have zero problems with anything Kramer has done. I have also been secretly hoping that we may see some of the first of a new line... But, must say Im discouraged by lack of response for our order.

I also have USB hubs just hanging out. Ordered my first raspberry pi this week, so I should be very efficient once it's all said and done! Anybody else hosting miners on a Pi? cgminer  or bfgminer for these erupters on linux (raspian wheezy)? Currently Im running cgminer with the icarus timing options getting 333 no problems off my last win 7 GPU miner..

I've tried to translate a bit, and while I do possibly see some people (customers?) talking about buying them for 0.1  BTC, I don't see friedcat talking on that thread at all. Is there any other proof of this claim?

Are they perhaps mis-interpreting this article (http://thegenesisblock.com/10000-bitcoin-asic-chips-arrive-in-switzerland-3-ths/) to imply that ASICMiner will be priced at 0.1 BTC? As far as I can tell, it's referencing raw Avalon chips with no PCB or assembly - quite different than what ASICMiner has been offering.

The fire sale on Amazon has already started, four vendors sub $100 now. 

Best case scenario, all transactions are recorded in group buy threads because all the organizers rock, so if there are going to be massive purchases it's basically give folks a window of X days to claim it, otherwise group buy leader can purchase their units at the low price. 

But this is all rumor. :D

Hello everyone - I was bombarded with PMs this weekend asking for block erupters at 0.1 BTC. I stopped selling these a while ago. I don't have any of these in-stock and have not seen any official public announcements yet about how to acquire the discounted units.

I've only seen rumors that state some users may be entitled to get discounted units (quantity equal to 1/3 of what you've ordered so far). Those same rumors seem to state that specific details won't be made available until August 5th ('The exact method of coupon distribution will be announced when coupon units arrive, which should be around August 5th.')

Hopefully you all trust that I'll continue to take care of you in every way that's in my power - my time is very limited at the moment and I can't afford to be shipping out hundreds of these miners for no profit. When the official announcement is made, I'll evaluate the price that is being offered, determine what I would need to earn in order to resume re-selling these products, and then make a public announcement myself if I decide to proceed. In addition, if there is any way to pass this coupon onto you in order to have you redeem for yourself, I'll be more than happy to do that. That would be ideal as I really am not keen on group buys and have little interest in resuming sales in that manner.

Please be patient for another week or so while more details roll out. Thanks.

Thanks a lot kosmo. Looking out for us as always. I don't think it would be fair for asicminer or friedcat to expect you to be a middle man for no gain. A simple confirmation from you on how many units each of us ordered so they know how many discounted units we are entitled. It shouldn't be that difficult to implement.

Quite frankly it would be nice if friendcat would make an announcement and we didn't have to get sporadic updates by different people opening up different sales at different times with different information regarding what the program will be (notice all the use of different?  we have no clue still).  I've yet to see a single ASIC vendor actually act like a business when it comes to dealing with customers and setting expectations.  Everyone is still a BFL, except they're (slowly) shipping.  AM has to get with the program before a more professional vendor blows them out of the water with professionalism and quick delivery.

Sadly enough AM is probably the most professional ASIC vendor currently in the market. I think AM specifically tried to stay out of the BFL model and they did a fairly good job. The USB eruptors are the first asic that any new or casual miner can afford. And while it may not be a consistent 1-2 week delivery time they are still pretty good about hitting estimates. But everybody wants to talk about AM's return on investment...and maybe its not that high. But you will make your money back you just wont get rich. But then again if it was that easy to get rich, AM would just build the machines and keep them lol.

If the ROI is too high, then AM is charging too little. So many people (not saying you are one of them) don't seem to realize AM is a for-profit business, not a charity.

It isn't even about ROI at this point, it's about communication.  Let them tell folks when product will be released and the pricing, that makes group buys fair.  People can make their own estimates based on network hashrate increases (can almost guarantee 15% plus per increase at this rate) just like people are choosing to buy or not buy these (or K1's).  But long periods of silence with the only information being A, B, C, D, and E reporting slightly different info from the source is pointless.  In any non-money printing box industry companies sink or swim on this kind of thing, the only reason any of these companies gets away with it is because BTC is still in an infancy stage and there is nobody professional in the vendor market to set the benchmark.

Again, hope we can't still have this conversation in Feb/2014, but not so sure. :/

As has been hinted by others above, I'm hesitating to really make any statements until I'm contacted with clear instructions from an official source (i.e. friedcat) about what the offer is. I have an email in to friedcat and will update this thread if/when he replies. I'm still hoping to hear a positive answer about allowing someone else to step in and fulfill these discounted orders for me. I would make an announcement asking you to contact me about ordering additional units, and if you qualify, I would pass that info on to the designated user who will fulfill these orders in a one-time large group buy. You would likely have a week or so to place those orders if this goes through.

Again, please wait until I hear from friedcat - assume if I'm not posting an update on this thread, he has yet to provide me with an update, and unfortunately I can't offer much without that!

Kosmo seems honest enough, where I truly believe that Friedcat hasn't got in contact with him yet. I'm sure we will all hear from him once that happens. Friedcat is a very busy man I imagine.

I just wish coupons were issued to all distributors at the same time, it is very amateurish of ASICMINER to be this disorganized when it comes to .10 vouchers. I am slightly frustrated at that situation (not with the group buy facilitators, but ASICMINER/Friedcat.)

I have sent two emails with no response. A few resellers were going to ask friedcat if they could sell on my behalf but I've heard no updates on that front.

I've got two other orders that I placed with the Guild and I have gotten Zero coupons for my orders there. I did post asking Eleuthria what the deal (considering that other resellers are claiming 100% coupons on previous orders.) He said that those vendors are not yet fulfilling those promises and that there are plans to extend the promotion....

Yeah from what I understand the promotion has not actually happened yet for anybody at all. Some re-sellers are offering the discounted units but none of them have actually shipped from AM yet and I'm not even sure the details of the coupon system have even been worked out yet. Otherwise I think they would have makd an announcement about it, or at least contacted somebody who would on their behalf.

BTC Guild has supplied the 1100 coupon units it received, almost all of them have already shipped (75 are not yet claimed).  This accounts for approximately 25% of the orders that were placed at the 1.05 BTC price.  I have heard from ASICMINER that they will be extending this coupon/promotion, but have not set any dates.

As far as I'm aware, all resellers are operating under the same situation;  They have 'X' units available to fill coupons already, and have distributed or are in the process of distributing them.  As of this time we're not able to order extra units to supply those coupons to the remaining orders.

Yes the major re sellers have been accounted for i.e. BTCGuild. But AM has made little attempt to give information to anybody else. As part of this smaller group buy I can't get the eruptors entitled to me and I can't get a coupon from BTCGuild or anywhere else so here I sit angry at AM yet again. They have the nerve to drop prices 50% TWICE in a matter of month and then promise discounted units, but so far only to select customers. Their business model is growing increasingly suspect and I'm losing respect for friedcat by the day

unless you got instructions from friedcat to the contrary, the coupon promo is intended to be 1:1.  you can't skip those who bought less than 3 units, people are already pissed about coupons, or lack thereof for 100% at the moment no need to upset smaller buyers further.  the 30% does not mean folks get 30% based on the order.
30% means that the newest 30% of purchasers get he coupon first.  70% will follow later for a grand total of everyone getting a coupon 1:1

so say you sold 1000 units and received 300 units for the coupons (this is an example only)... then you take the latest 300 ordered units from that 1000 and they get the 300 coupons 1:1.

it is designed to lessen the price drop "shocks" which effect mostly the latest buyers.

I was advised that I was eligible to receive a quantity of discounted units equal to 30% of my previous order volume.  I received guidelines, but none identical to what you stated. If that is how the larger re-sellers are fulfilling requests, then I will follow suit.

I will update my post accordingly so even recent customers who ordered as few as one can claim their discounted units. Essentially, at this point, you're only going to be eligible if you participated in one of my two group buys, which started on 6/25/2013. Orders prior to that are not eligible at this point. If you do not claim your discounted units within 7 days, you will forfeit them.

That's a good question; I should have clarified earlier.

Customers should eventually be eligible to receive 100% of previously ordered quantity at the newly discounted price. However, currently, I can only ship quantities that were ordered on or after 6/25/2013 (my most recent 30% of sales).

• If you only have orders from before 6/25, please wait until I make an announcement that all customers are eligible. You can make a request now and pay, but you will not receive anything until 100% of hardware is made available to me.
• If you have orders before and after 6/25, please only request (and pay for) discounted hardware that you ordered on or after 6/25.
• If you only have orders on or after 6/25, you're eligible to order 100% of your previous order quantity at the discounted price.

I believe so. I was in the second group buy you did after 6/25 (The actual date was the 27th I think). So I should be allowed to get 100% of that order but none from my previous orders on Bitmit...correct?

Correct. You're welcome to request and pay for any hardware you're entitled to at any time, but at this point, I can only fulfill the most recent 30% of orders. So likely, in your case, you will receive two separate shipments from me, assuming you want to claim it all.

What I'm about to tell you I cannot explain. I received (and funded) a payment address from friedcat less than 24 hours ago (closer to 12 hours ago) and he somehow got hardware to me today! I didn't know planes could fly from Hong Kong to the US in that amount of time, let alone a package that has all the stops and checkpoints.

Anyway, if you've paid, your order will ship out tomorrow. If you're eligible and haven't paid, the clock is ticking (~2 days) before you forever forfeit your discounted hardware. If you've already expressed desire to forfeit your hardware, it has been made available to those next in line who are willing to pay.

Pardon me for being blunt, but I don't really care for this proposition at all and find it to contradict the spirit of the promotion (which I interpret to be getting discounted hardware into the hands of previous customers at a price that compensates for sudden price drops).

In addition, at this point, friedcat has selected official resellers and I'd consider it to be unfair for me to take hardware that was given to me for a promotion and provide it to the public at a price which significantly undercuts his (now official) resellers. I suppose there's nothing stopping end-users doing this, but I'm a reseller and expect to be held to higher standards.

I respect your desire to make a profit and also share that profit with customers who may, otherwise, not take advantage of the offer, but I don't believe this is what friedcat intended when he initiated such a generous promotion and I rather enjoy my relationships with both him and other fellow resellers.

I didn't mean for this offer to be a bad thing in any way. I thought that with so many eligible buyers that were passing on the offer I would be doing people a favor here. If your buyers don't have the btc in hand in the next 48 hours (some people can't get coins that fast) I thought it would be nice to stiill be offered a chance to make a little btc. My offer for 0.25 btc for the ability to buy 10 sticks at a discount would give a broke buyer a chance to buy at least one more for free and pocket a few btc. Thats a win/win in my book.

I was more making this offer to help broke buyers who don't have the btc in hand than to undermine this discount process. I bought many at 0.55 from Canary right before the price drop to 0.31. I get no discount. Because of this I was not willing to pay 0.31 knowing that another drop was around the corner. At 0.22 Im interested again, but I doubt I'll make too much of a profit, if at all.

You stated that people were passing on the offer in large numbers and you didn't want to keep the extras for yourslelf. I was offering what I thought might be a good solution for consideration. I have not yet decided what will be done with future unclaimed inventory (for reference, I have none at this time). Once my previous customers are taken care of and satisfied (first priority), I feel like the appropriate thing to do is to introduce unclaimed units to the public at a fair market price (either through an official reseller or on my own). From the perspectives of both previous customers who had to "earn" that discount, and from that of other resellers who already have thin profit margins without being undercut, it seems like the only fair thing to do.

I don't want to put a whole lot of thought into that until the time comes, but suffice to say they will be "priced to move" as I have no interest in keeping inventory. Whatever happens, I will ensure that the offer is clear and you all have a fair chance.

I received word last night from our favorite feline friend that the remainder of our coupon units are en route to me. Due to US holiday, I expect delivery mid next week, but have no tracking number to back up that assumption.

There is a reason I got out of the reseller game; because this is a difficult position to be in (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=280961.msg3005137#msg3005137). How can I, in good conscious, continue to sell these units at ฿0.195 when they've been delayed and when you can get them from other group buys for ฿0.18 (plus shipping) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=283458.0)!? Beyond frustrated right now, but I'm hoping friedcat sees that and works with me on the cost of these final discounted units that have been significantly delayed so I can extend you last lot a little discount that you deserve. For units that already shipped, I think the previous price was fair (you'll have had those 2-3 weeks before others, which means a lot, considering the current difficulty outlook).

I'm going to take the initiative here and just discount the final batch further to a price I deem fair, considering the recently significantly reduced market price. I think 10% off of market price sounds fair for the time being, with the understanding that I may also reserve the right to ship via USPS First Class instead of the originally advertised Priority (BTCGuild ships at this level and eleuthria has observed that it's typically on par with Priority anyway). That results in this last batch being offered at ฿0.162 BTC with free USPS First Class or faster shipping; delivery is estimated to you by end of next week.
