Surely for 300 bitcoins you should have been able to take some time off work to write your whitepaper, and hire programmers to help you finish your code, and maybe even pay whatever fees or deposits the card networks want for accepting your card on their network?

Why is there a need to collect bitcoins over a course of 3 months. I am sure 50 btc is sufficient to create an excellent coin and we are already at around 16 btc. 3 months seems like a very long time to collect investments.

Visacoin’s only purpose is to achieve the format necessary for a simple and easy BTC transaction with the use of a card or smartphone. Buy what you want with no waiting, no matter when, no matter where.

It's funny people are comparing this to MSC and NXT. Do your research, both of those were much more solid than this, albeit still risky. I won't bother pointing out all the red flags, but the OP hasn't shared any real technical details and his writing comes across as very vague. Plus creating things like an empty github to make it seem more legit to people that might not know any better. This has scam written all over it...

Why would you believe it? Have they stolen any identities yet or is it just sockpuppets so far or even just anyonymous bitcoin-balances?

There are suckers all over through so really that is all they need, until all the suckers run out of money and new suckers stop being born they likely camke good money running scams like this all over the internet. This might be far from the only such scam they have running.

My guess is that topic starter has a simple plan:

Why do we need Visacoin?

Most of the time a dollar is in your wallet in the morning and in the afternoon it’s in the Starbuck’s register. We rarely keep the same dollars in our pocket for more than days at a time, no matter how rich or poor we might be. My experience in the bank industry has taught me if there is no circulation, the dollar is just a piece of paper. Conversely, if that same dollar circulates, its value will be doubled. Take a look at your BTC, how long have you kept your bitcoin in your personal wallets? From the moment you get them, they often do not move outside of the confines of your wallet addresses.

The scam accusations are getting ridiculous every second from trolls, Visacoin should close the IPO immediately and concentrate fully on the coin development and brand awareness. Additional funding can be raised from the people that already invested in initial IPO.

Sending your BTC to Visacoin is the equivalent of burning money or throwing it in the sea, in other words: no, the possibility of legal consequences are very low due to the anonymity. Any BTC thrown at this is gone with the wind.

There's enough money into this project now to make a protocol that's beyond great. It's just a matter of Visacoin's competence and whether or not he can hire on the right talent for the job. For starters, I highly recommend a dev with strong English writing ability. The OP might very well be a smart guy in his native language, but to outsiders it comes off as childish and a tad shady. A lot of the requests OP has received he has responded to, but his ability to communicate and ensure strangers' trust is lacking.

You all realize that you're not supposed to get your donations back in a fundraiser IPO, right? That's not how it works.

I think you need to change the distribution of the coins. At the moment you are giving a huge windfall to the first 50 people at the expense of the others who are basically taking the same chance as the first 50. Why not just make it an even, gradual, sliding scale for everyone who contributes until the IPO closes. How does the guy at place 51 feel now? Pissed off, and he supported you just as much. Just make it one sliding scale for ALL IPO contributors.

As for whether this is a scam or not, it sounds as ridiculous as NXT did, and that has made millionaires. It's a bet on an unknown, just like NXT was. The obvious difference is with the language barrier for the Visacoin guy using english. His brain might be just as interesting as BCNext's.

The original NXT client BCNext showed was some sort of selling point, but it definitely didn't scream coinmarketcap top 10 in a couple of weeks.

Anyone who missed out on the NXT genesis block and believes the NXT stakeholders are greedy or undeserving should send this guy 1 bitcoin now. If not, they should accept that their tolerance for gambling is lower than those who did. You can't have it both ways. NXT and Visacoin smell the same at the same stage (i.e. COULD be a giant scam)

1) IPO starter (team) self deanonymization - real name, contacts, profiles, etc. (may be, it's not needed - if escrow or warranties preferred)
