I'm gonna be honest with you all , i have been trading/investing since 2017.



I earned about 110.000 by trading and basically lost it all, i decided to sell the rest and just quit. I'm gonna explain why, this cryptocurrency market
is very manipulative and can easily be controlled and it will never stop. The icos/alts will always keep sucking all the btc cash so it will always be hard for btc to grow and
dominate.



This market is made to make money and profit from noobs it's like a bitconnect scheme. Every dollar that is made by someone, someone will lose money. Every dollar that
is made in this system will be sold to fiat and if there is low btc buy power it will mean that btc will only keep going down. This market is basically made to make
money from new users like a scheme. For example can you actually believe that if you would've put 10k usd into bitconnect you would have a monthly return of about 4500
every month by lending? This is unbelievably high which again means for every btc/dollar you lend out into this cryptocurrency system = someone will lose money that's
the main reason this market won't be there for long. Because it's basically a pyramid scheme.

Well since when in 2017 have you been trading then because I know this isn't a permanent drop. One year ago they predicted Bitcoin to be around 5k in 2018, so we're ahead of that anyways. It can't always go up. Selling everything now would only kill the market more.

you have a point when it comes to manipulation but still this would bounce back if you are quitting its better to wait till it bounces back at least to get some profit.

Ofcourse bitcoin will recover because of functional platforms like rsk/Ln etc. But the fact is bitcoin will always be massively manipulated to make money. Problem is these massive swings will scare away people specially when bitcoin is becoming famous and it had a huge money flow in it during the recent months.

Right now just image how many people will be stuck for months/years who bought ripple/trx/sc at the top for example. The more money flows in the  bigger the crash the harder it is to recover because older people will sell fast when it starts growing and there wont be any progress.

I don't think you should sell your bitcoins at this time. I think soon bitcoin will return to normal. It will be back to $15,000, which I think is very likely.

Don't think its a good idea.
At least wait a little and sell in a higher prices.

Sir you have been in crypto way to little to understand the movements of the market. Once you experience your first drop and manage to succesfully HODL, you loose your crypto-drop virginity and learn to wait for the market to go back up instead of selling everything.

In this moment of great bleeding, I'm going to BUY as much as I can because crypto technology is the future, not just a price on a graph.

I was here since january 2017, and i have held though many crashes. But these crashes were little compared to this one, like i've said though my experience of trading/investing for a very long time. I know and understand how this crypto system works

OP had a weak heart towards bitcoin, this happens to bitcoin back then, And it just sprung back up again, We are just experiencing resistance because of the negative news we had now, And FUD that are spreading all around the forum such as these, I really think there are many people such as yourself that is very negative now towards bitcoin, But if bitcoin momentum comes back you will not go catch up in the bullish run again.

No one can force you to buy it or sell it.
This is its most important property.

Having 15 millions bitcoin or having mine control doesn't mean manipulation. they need have a lot fiat money either.

I think selling everything  you have could just incur you a greater loss. I think it is better to hold it for a while until the price will get high so that you can earn profit and get back the amount you loss. We should know that bitcoin is not always going up, it is sometimes goes down that's why bitcoin is volatile, so you should be patient to be successful in trading and investing.

Pretty much everyone that is holding long term has had some great profits. So I don't see your story really clings home. Yes the market is manipulative and if you are trying to day trade and pick peaks/bottoms then you are going to get burned. But if you find good projects and go long then a lot of people have made some good money. Just don't panic sell and be calm. Then make sure that you don't invest what you don't feel you can loose.

I agree on you. What is happening in the crypto world. All coins are losing their values. The main coins really drops! I have to sell some of my coins too so that I can still have some money. I hope this wont last and cryptos will recover soon.

Just chill, time to keep clam and experience the red show. Its called a "correction" or due of spreading FUD all around. Prices crash this time of the year, that's why. Check stats for previous years, you may utilise.

Fact: right now fiat is best investment. Wait till it drops and then drops some more.... Then buy for the next rush. Bargains will be had. Hodlers will sweat.

Dont sell everything the price these days is very low. We should expect the market that full of unexpected event that it can drops very low or very high. We should see this maybe a corrections or atleast wait sometimes that price can recover.

It's your decision to quit anytime I think you do not have the nerve to do this stuff anymore, bitconnectcoin is very much different, it will eventually go down right now it's being hammered, but bitcoin is a technology, it's the limited supply that makes it a store of value scarcity makes the price go up.

So in short, you have only traded in a bull market.. where pretty much anyone can make money.. but also lose if you have no exit strategy..

you are right in a lot of sense, especially with market makers and market manipulation, and without a doubt bitconnect lol..

its a rollercoaster for sure... but sometimes you need to look at how the market is, during bull or bear, you need to implement a proper risk management and exit strategy... before throwing you $$ in.. taking profit at the right time is perhaps the most difficult, and sticking to your original plan... if you make a few 100% on a coin, you cash it out piece by piece.. instead of hoping for the next etheruem boom.

to lose 110k means you pretty much traded so emotionally, buying high and selling at a loss... when in fact (as you may have seen in previous years), the cycles continue.. those who hold and are patient win... day traders will eventually lose. no brainer there.

sorry for your loss, i also lost heavily shorting some crypto in mid 2016.. and never made the same mistake again.

again, the markets will recover.. and in due time you will find a lot of panic sellers rebuying their stock.. if you invested money that you can afford to lose, you would have no emotional attachment to those funds, so just shut off your accounts, or put your coins on a ledger and leave things for a year... :)

Just chill man, the market is getting some problems cause the reducing trust of investors but i think they will be back soon in the next couples days.

But we can't ignore that bitcoin and blockchain technology is useful. Especially for people who live in country which has problem with international transactions. And unbanked people as well.

I increased my portfolio in many time since the begining of 2017 year. Criptocurrency is not a kind of pyramid. It is new market that is very volatile at present

It's very poor for bitcoin that after gaining from it they will just convert it fiat then the supply of bitcoin will be higher than the number of demand which will lead to deflation, but it does not mean to sell all of your cryptocurrency its just because altcoins are quite profitable and has high demand because its price is lower than bitcoin and altcoins are getting numbers.

The price of all cryotocurrency is falling down and the main reason of this price fall is due to crypto currency banning from two countries so othe people country also selling their coins in panic as you doing.
But I am seeing this is an opportunity to buy bitcoin for lower price then before and I hope the condition will become normal when people understand the real situation.

You cannot compare the whole cryptocurrency with Bitconnect or anything lending/investing platform. I know bitconnect and what happened to them. You don't have an option or control unlike investing in cryptocurrency that you can do anything with your money.

Well, if you someday won a lot of money and then you lost it of course you´re in panic... but I don´t catch the hate. Crypto is always same: they say  BTC is going to fall, panic selling begins so they buy much more at a low price, and then the price rises again so "they" win a lot of money. Who? speculators, investors and co.

Sounds like you are conflating the Bitconnect situation with the general market of cryptos. If you been here since January 2017, than you know even at $10,000 BTC is up almost 10x since you first got in. Not too shabby I'd say.

Even as recently as early November 2017, $10k Bitcoin seemed like the moon. So really the market was overheated and $20k BTC came way too soon, I might even say $10k came too soon, it's fair current price, if there is such a thing, maybe only around $5-$8k or even less.

Anyway, Bitconnect was a Ponzi scheme from the get go and really had little to do with cryptocurrencies other than that is what is was basing the scheme off of. This would be like blaming the USD for Madoff's scheme a few years back.

So expect Bitcoin to correct to whatever it is going to correct to and then you can buy back in. If you have some coins left don't sell, but don't expect to recover your paper losses in the next few weeks either. Bitcoin and the other cryptos need some time to cool off and this will probably take a few months or more.

The last big correction in early 2014 lasted over 2 years, but I think this time it won't take as long simply because there is a lot more interest in the crypto space this time around and with the dip the big wall street money types who missed out the first time will surely be getting in.

The biggest problem I see is that less than 100 people control more than 40% of the bitcoins.

This opens the markets up to extreme manipulation. We see this with every major pump.  If you're in on the up pump... get out while you can. You'll make money but there is an inevitable fall back to reality. It's happened every single time. BTC will be far below the 7-8k a lot of you are thinking simply because of some buy support. Once it starts falling again, you will see a TON of people bailing. Sadly, this will be the end of them investing in the future of BTC. You can blame the pumpers for it's demise.

Its depend on the people being crypto trader more than year around 2017 jsnauary started i dint find any loss till the date yes some coins gone really low even i dint sell . Beauty of the crypto exchange you can keep your sell target price and keep as it is for long term may be year once it hit the profit point it will automatically sells . This pattern has been seen for years now that in December - January the market goes down. I bet you will look back in 2 years time and realise this was one of the biggest mistakes you ever made.

Basically you are new to trading ,You came in when the market was on a bull run and the bitcoin run extended for a year which was crazy and if you did not make money in that market situation it is better to sell your coins as trading is not all about bull market ,You need to play wise during bear run too. Some of the coins can be manipulated by whales ,You have to understand these things.

Holding and moving 300K into my exchange account to increase my holdings when we hit rock bottom.    And this time I think I'll go heavier ETH.

You will know things are bad if Coinbase goes down as they try to front-run trades or
Bitcoin miners block the exit doors and push fees back over $55 but i did try to warn

Well even if it doesn't recover for the next couple of months, it still hasn't even reached 1/5th of its full potential. You do realize the dotcom bubble was a period of 8 years collectively that the investments were approaching $6,000,000,000,000 worth? I agree with your opinion. The more you try to sell all the different brass altcoins you have, then you kill yourself. As far as I know everything will return to normal, the ups and downs of the currency is too normal. It can be called a cycle. Do not lose patience, but lose all, we must be alert to handle this problem.

I don't think selling is the best idea today, because of the price that keeps on going down?. Remember that when working to cryptocurrency you need to be patience, a lot of patience. You need to study the process and have knowledge to every details in cryptocurrency.

I am still a newbie with trading, I already lost a lot when I sold all my xlm, xrb and other altcoins before when their price were only cents. Now btc price is dropping and also most of altcoins now, I read somewhere that what is happening now is always normal every month of january. So Im planning to hold all my coins until it reaches again their ATH like what happened 2 weeks ago. I will just hold and still collect more coins and tokens.

Perfectly normal deep correction to wipe out lots of shitcoins and scam projects. Otherwise If bullish trend would continue we will sink in shitprojects and whole crypto ecosystem will be trashed and scammed.

Manipulation is there in every market, does not matter where you go. But one should wise enough to decide when to buy and when to sell.

I don't how you to the conclusion of selling all the coins and lose money, but this certainly is not a wise decision.

This is not the first time and definitely not the last time Bitcoin has been in this situation, but it is part of the industry and you should always be ready for this.

Don’t panic if you are holding great coins but if you are connected with these scam coins then you better assess your portfolio. A great buying opportunity now and If I have money to use for will invest all of it with bitcoins and will buy some good altcoins.

Thank you for your opinion Vladimir21. You know I've been trading/investing since 2012, and not this is the first bloodbath what I seen here, also I've seen similar opinions many, many times (basically after each massive price drop), but BTC still here and every year worth more and more.

Alts are around some time and kept sucking Bitcoins blood but as I see still BTC rules them all and in the meantime it keeps growing, while some of those bloodsuckers grown to things what might change banking and finance sometimes in the future.

i also agree that a lot of schemes exist nowadays with the primary intentions of stealing from other people especially your so called "noobs".
that is why it is advisable to everyone that whenever they engage in things relating to cryptocurrency they must first be able to conduct their own research about the coin or the project they wanted to join in.
always remember that no one can force you into joining anything if you dont want too.

It was 1152 max and dropped to 200 in 2013. I was on during those times, sold at 840. The climb back took really long if I remember it right.

Everyone has their own decision and with all you that you've said I think you are really determined to quit and sell everything then it is a good decision for yourself. No one is forcing somebody to buy or sell bitcoin afterall people have different experiences that affect their own decision since they got involved in bitcoin.

Selling everything is a tough decisions and when you enter in trading it requires really patience in order for you to gain profit. You're not being wise in this market and you have to be gain knowledge because in this market decision making is very important. Decision making that will lead to success and selling everything is not a good idea.

110k in unrealised profits should be the correct term here.. if you are better off selling everything for your mental health, as i've seen from the previous thread that your views on bitcoin correlate with price.. then that might just be the best option for you :P

Some people made money on way up, much more will lose on way down. There were lots of positive comments on social media during uptrend, now it will be opposite and dissatisfied people will be even more vocal. The press is too increasingly critical. There will be also more regulation, many favorable myths are bursting (that it cannot be manipulated, regulated, that it is usable as currency, that it is more just than current system etc.) and more exchanges will go down which will mean even more bad publicity. There will be swings (pump and dump) but I guess that general trend will be the price falling.

We will see more downfall as the media also making their own way to criticize the system, while whales are shaking the market panic holders are
moving behind and start cashing out thinking that it's better to have some loses than burning everything. I don't think that making another mistakes
will help traders to stand up with this certain things happening might be better to stay away and relaxed for a while than stressing ourselves with this
events.

Actually I think that panic selling, whatever the context, is the best thing that can be done if you want to kill bitcoin.

You say you have been trading since 2017... Sorry but to me, this does not sound as an extensive experience. Maybe, you are fed up because you don't manage to make outstanding profits. But this does not mean that bitcoin and the concept behind it is worthless...

Bitcoin is not merely about short-term profit.

My suggestion is to be patient and hold your coins, the crypto marketing continues to grow... of course sometimes some issues happened and lets us down, but I consider everything as a long term investment.

Selling everything now is a very bad idea.

what i think is that the pioneers (Whales) should get up and save the day.

I think I won’t belive or bother much about what you said. The reality is simple, if the crypto currency is manipulative then we should actually take the advantage of it and dive in to get some bucks. There are big traders in the world who use same manipulation to which you are fearing to earn millions. They know this manipulation creates lot of troughs and crest. They dive in into it and then come out at the right point. Anyway you have to be very focused to actually earn from crypto currency. By the way bitconnect is shutting down so no one cares about it.

And what prevents you from trading, but simply participate in interesting ICO, invest in a long. And sell their crypto currency when they do x2-x20? There are many examples, and this strategy does work.

Hey fella on the off chance that you are exchanging since 2017, you realized that the present value instability is the ideal time to purchase and not the consul time to offer. I am not a master merchant, but rather what would i be able to state is , in the event that I am you that will offer today, I have done it before this day come. Most broker purchase at low, and offer when they knew the cost is beginning to drop and not when it is as of now dropped. By the way if you exit in  trading, try mining, Moonlite is a good start. Good fortunes with your revenue!

I'm also planning to sell my bitcoins now but I don't think selling and cutting my loss would help a lot in my bitcoin profit adventures. So I'll pribably hold and buy some more bitcoins tomorrow once the price even crashes. I'll hold longer once I'm finished buying a lot of bitcoins.

Sell if u need fiat money badly if not just HODL. Bitcoin crash happens before every new lunar year. you can check last years jan 2017 price of bitcoin was around $1K then in the end it boomed n hit above $18K.

I believe this is one of its corrections and will surely bounce back after its done. I have also started trading early last year and think this is just temporary. Would still hold on to my coins especially bitcoin for long term because I still believe it has a great part in the future.

I do agree with you that trading tends to get money from noobs that is why we really need to study the market.  It is our responsibility to know what we are upto and what we are venturing. Do not point finger to other people if we lose because it is our own incompetent that lead us to wrong decision.  I have seen people earning and losing from trades, there is one thing that is common, those who do research and have patience often reap rewards, while those who lack patience and did not bother to do their assignment often ends up losing their capital.

I think its a mistake also to sell, BTC will come back for sure to its same price, probably higher.  IMO do some research on some alt coins that look promising for the next year, and invest your $100 in them, sit back and wait a year.  I've made over $3,000 just investing on alt coins from an initial investment of $150.  Maybe BTC isnt for your but you can make a lot on alt coins.

I have been watching the movements of the coins for some time now and I must say that I start to see a pattern, in the sense that it looks as if someone or a group is controlling things.

It can give big lose when going to sell everything for the price lower than you purchased it. When the coin has potential to grow, hold it strongly because the price will recover even how long it takes. Investing is taking risk and you have to face and pass it so that it gonna worth.

On some points I do see that you have the point. The idea of a see-saw is what seems to be a correct argument. Consider that while somebody gains profit after selling his coins, it could be that somebody loses value of his coins. As the coin is valued high due to new investors coming in, the ones who have bought at lower price will sell their coins thus giving them the chance to gain from what the new investors have just paid. But I do not see this as a scam rather it is just business and when you mean business it is eveything or anything that you can do or share for as long as you did gain profit.

Its ok to lose money but you learned from that mistake. But how can you try again if you sell everything? I suggest that invest what you can afford to lose, so that you will not get broke if you failed on your investments. Some people are careless and dont think of what will be the outcomes of their doings, and they're the people that will greatly regret if they failed.

I these people doesn't seem to understand what they're taking part of, because if you really have a proper knowledge on the crypto holdings you had you won't decide selling it everything. I supported what you said since the OP dont make the right action at the right time and what he/she can do now is wait till next year or better still next halving. I know op open this topic at the beggin of year. But right now i will not sell nothing. Why? Because now most of coins are so low and i think all will grow after ETF approval. Now the waiting is key of bought high and not want sell in low.

My point is that the OP recommendation to sell every bitcoin back on January was a good one. Anyone who adopted it and stayed out of the market made a good move.
And I might be wrong, but I think we haven't reach the bottom. And bitcoin market past suggests that when we do reach the bottom we'll stay there for months before a change on the trend and a real break up.

For a comfortable life with good earning sources and investment sources we always need to manage everything in order to keep things normal.
