A market crash is surely bad news and you would hardly expect smiles from hodlers.

Not on Bitfinex. The lowest point there was 5862, which is above the 2018 low of 5755. All is fine if you ask me the bottom still holds.
I don't worry at all. Some people were saying that 5800 might not be the lowest point of this bear market and that there's a small chance of it going fo 4800 which would draw a perfect bottom according to fib lines, resistances and many other indicators. I don't think it will happen but most of us heard of this theory.

its really bad day for us but bitcoin is long term investment.i think bitcoin price will go up within 2 or 3 days.

If you are a holder and true believer you really don't have to worry anything at all but if you are adding more BTC to your portfolio and you don't have any buying power then you should start to worry as you are missing a good opportunity to buy. The one thing you shouldn't worry about is when you are holding it at a loss and is thinking of cutting your BTC loose as you might regret doing it in the future, remember if it is too late to jump out of the ship then it is better to sit tight with what you are holding.

No I didn't panic and it's normal bitcoin always bounce back. This time it took longer but all we can do now is wait and hope for the best.

If people just figure out a price they DONT want to see bitcoin fall to that would worry them, you never have to worry about the price.

Bitcoin is volatile. Dont get panic when you see the bitcoin price suddenly drops. In will increase maybe after a day or sometimes within an hour. We cannot predict the bitcoin's value. All we have to do is believe in bitcoin and wait for the another bull run.

I am not too worried about the value of bitcoin which is falling, I am still calm because basically bitcoin is indeed unstable and keeps changing in value, although it falls but bitcoin is still possible to increase its value again.

I would not bank on tether as a stable currency in any thing but name.
Bitcoin is of cause determined by market forces if demand and supply and such actions are influenced by a lot of factors.

I would not call this situation a massive crash but we are in territories we have not been in for a while.

Move their mining power to where? Even Bitcoin Cash is falling. Actually majority of the coins is going down so I doubt that's the main reason of another big dump today.

This is very sad news. I'm very disappointed with the crash crypto currency market. I've spent some money crypto in therescent. Now I do not understand what will happen.

yes many panic sell but in times like this you have to hedge to and put it in stablecoins so that we still have the total market cap intact. As well as listing down the good ones to go shopping spree when it calms.

Yes, there is nothing to worry about and its not like to say that bitcoin us falling because its value was stack and playing around 6000$ and I umderstand that there are many people moaning as they are buying btc during bullish market and currently btc value step down against there buying price, therefore holding is what we can do.

It's very surprising to see a high fall of btc cryptocurrency @ $5.6k which is one of the huge dips in  the btc market within the year. However, I am still optimistic that it can recover within the coming months and people should not worry too much for it will be back soon.

Am surprised at the sudden market crash. Nervelessness, I have always prepare my heart for the worst case scene, so as we write, am not worry about anything. I am not shocked, I saw Bitcoin falling from 19k$ to 6k$ thus, a decrease by 500$ won't affect me.

How many of these crashes have we seen this year already? I think most of us here are used to them by now as we have seen a few this year alone. I'm not really concerned about the price falling as I see BTC as a long term hold so I'm not going to panic sell here like so many people do.

Panicking can be considered quitting with bitcoin's company, and if we wanted to take this opportunity as a lesson for us then have patience. You're right mate we should panic and yet being strong and courageous is the best options to do for now. Many people we're really affected with the current situation, but that's not a taking so long because eventually market will have to recover faster due to volatile trend of btc.

I am personally not so surprised and worried, I saw before it seems the market will fall but do not know for sure, now after waking up I saw the market turn red and it seems like at the end of the year it's time for correction, so I never believe if at the end of the year it's time to soar, because so far I only remember if the end of the year is always a correction and I'm not surprised by this incident.

Yes I think we need to all panic right now, it is slowly falling and I think we need to take action for this. There is a lot of fakes news spreading that's why maybe Bitcoin is crashing because most of them are totally agreed with that fake news that's why the market is also affected.

Now the price of bitcoin is $ 5500 and I am more than sure that by the morning we will see$4500. But this is quite normal for the situation in which the market is now. It's pretty normal to me, no need to panic or whatsoever. If you are true believers then, no need to panic and keep holding. It's just a matter of days before bitcoin will rise up again. Only weak hands will be affected by this fall down and besides it's still bear market so no need to sell our assets, it will only make your loses make worst.

I am absolutely not worried about the situation. Even if there is a valid reason for this, then after a while Bitcoin will recover in value and continue to grow.

Wow. I see everyone is mentioning word "Panic sell". But it's actually profitable sell of BTC for buyer who bought for very cheaper price. Second important thing is US debit. Many users are getting involved by buying at current price but HOLD could take user towards risk with their equity. No one control crypto market is just concept but everything is managed. Whales who bought BTC at cheaper price can be easily manipulate market, and here is an example of centralization of BTC.

By next year 2020 halving is there. And generation of BTC with be again reduced by 50% of current block rewards, SO it will be hard for miner to keep and maintain their investment with lower ROI. And without miner, BTC is impossible to sustain on network. People are removing interest from BTC.

I am really shocked when I check the bitcoin price lately. Its so sad to see that bitcoin is really down today its so heart breaking to see the price but we need to look for a brightside that after this a very crash fall of bitcoin for me its a sign of increasing the price in the following days. I worry about people who will panic selling their coins because of this downfall. Lets be calm and hope for the increasing price.

That right dude. Bitcoin holders don't care anymore because of the almost one year of downhill trend. They already on hold few months ago. It doen't matter now, especially this recent sharp fall. Actually, for some this is another chance of buying bitcoin at a discounted price, then hold at least a year. So far, bitcoin is still the best bet for long-term investment.

Yes, Bitcoin is falling quite hard, this makes a panic sell. The reason maybe is because the hard fork of Bitcoin Cash so people sell their Bitcoin and buy Bitcoin Cash and it caused a panic sell. But, this will normal again and Bitcoin will go up again. We will see about it.

Hope it gets a little lower to get more fiat in there again... just under $5k would be amazing to buy at.

Hardly hard fork bitcoin cash, which is scheduled for today, was not the cause of this fall of bitcoin. They knew about the tough plug for a long time and hardly on the last day everybody started buying Bitcoin in cash. Although this could also play a role, there is no bad news about the cryptocurrency relation. This fall in the cryptocurrency market will play a bad role, it seems that the market stagnation will last for a long time.

I agree on that. I think this is still a normal thinh in crypto. Eveything may changr anytime due to the instable market demand or maybe volume of investors that invest into it. I think it will soon recover maybe after this very huge dip the price will rise up high so let us still hold for good.

Yes, many rumors say Bitcoin prices are falling now because of the occurrence of Hardfork BCH today which causes many people to sell Bitcoin for BCH, but this news still can't be validated correctly, but in my opinion Bitcoin prices are falling now because there are big people intentionally sell Bitcoin to make panic for new Investors.

I really fear that bitcoin will disappear, because in India, Korea and China the government has banned the use of bitcoin in that country, the fewer enthusiasts, the lower the price of bitcoin will be.

Am not surprised for the crash as it was due for long time but the big boys in the market wouldn't let go, btc as stable for a while now which to me is a kind of in house stuff, base on the EMA 20-50-200 on D1,W1,W2 and 1MONTH chart show we still have more dip to go but market never work in that direction as many don't want it and miners , CME don't also want it to be and I think there is nothing they could do and it can only be delay but should happen at last , but let us all watch and see where this will end.

There nothing to panic or worry simply because it is normal where we always face this situation like happen many years ago. As of now you can see the falling price of bitcoin but I think it will rise up again so all we need to do is bear this situation and just believe in bitcoin.

Today's BCH hard fork cannot be the cause of yesterday's fall of Bitcoin and another cryptocurrency. BCH itself has fallen much more than bitcoin, almost 18 percent. If they were buying BCH in large quantities now, it would grow in value, and not fall as it is now.

i know the price is falling , but it will increase to its true value, and become stable and more strong in the future.

$5700 is the mark that was predicted by many, as well as 4700 and even 4300. However, it depends on how sharply we will go down. The more stretched in time it gets, the lower the fall. Probably, the fall to 4700 will be the final one. 4300 is also possible, but again, depends on whether we will be able to get there pretty fast or not.

I think it'll be recovering soon. For all the time I'd prefer to look positive rather than pessimism. This market is not a simple market to disappear.

Why worry? Is this your first time to see Bitcoin's price falling down? I have seen it went down several number of times. And then a little later went back again flying so high leaving many weak hands with deep regret. I was a victim of worrying. But I learned my lessons already. A long red candle does not intimidate me anymore. That's just a call to buy.

There is no concern for me about the current decline in BTC prices, because I see it as a sign that prices will rise again, so the long wait since the beginning of 2018 will probably end soon, and we will be happy with the bitcoin price increase that I think will soon be happening at the end of this year. I am of the opinion that drops (even to 3k or 4k) may yet be expected before another price climb begins. This is the proportional reflection of the last price action, when bitcoin dropped from 1k highs to 200-300USD levels and then stayed there quite long, a few month is I remember well.

I'm used to the drastic decline in bitcoin prices like this time. The decline in the price of bitcoin began in January this year and continues until now, and at least this event has made me accustomed. Many people said when the bull run will come, the market will decline first then when the price reaches the lowest point every trader and investor will buy back a large amount so that it makes market recover, it is worth waiting what will happen next.

This is known as the black Wednesday as the support at $6k was broken by bitcoin and went down to $5640 this could be attributed to the spontaneous withdrawal from bitcoin to invest in the fork out coins of BCH which is BCHABC and BCHSV . The withdrawal was a big burden on the bitcoin and hence the cave in the price. Hope bitcoin will be able to find its way back in the market soon.

Bitcoin is not going to die easily. This is just a normal fall. I don't find anything to worry about. Yes it's a huge loss to some people but it doesn't mean that this is the end of it. Wait till the next year and I hope you will see the raise again. It's acting like a stock market now. It never dies. I am still unperturbed! Maybe if the price goes way below 4,000$ before I can become worried. But for now, I still see this price dips as normal for now but not necessary for people to fidget about it. The market will adjust itself over the weekend I believe.

Now the price is now $5500 and keep going down. In 36 hours it never stopped and seems to be not.. Everyone says that we should Hodl, yes we should hodl but the price keeps going down and ş believe that it will catch 5k line.. Just as binance said on the twitter page BTC price been stable makes market too boring and volatility will keep it alive... To relate that BTC falling is not totally bad after the long stability of more than a month, I am sure it is going to bounce back to the previous $6400.

Yes this is the nature of bitcoin which is fluctuating and this is the decline, no one needs to panic or worry just because it is normal. Where we always face a situation like this happened a few years ago. Until now you can see the current fall in the price of bitcoin. I have been into cryptos since last 1 year. Fall in the value is predictable as it depends on the supply and demand of the currency. But it will regain its value as multiple businesses are integrating BTC in their transaction models.

How can you be sure that it's the last falling? I believe no one knows what would happen, about price that being up and down, or about the price of bitcoin, or when the falling period come, because there's no rule or pattern about bitcoin that has unpredictable movement. Bitcoin is already stuck in a downward trend all year round and is dragging the entire cryptocurrency market with it. The BTC price has now dropped by more than 70% compared to its peak. The prices of other altcoins like Ripple and Ethereum are about 80% lower than the peak.

This is unusual because normally when bermonths  come there will have gradual change of crypto market from decrease into bull run. Now the market move in different way that seems no hope at all. Anyway the market will recover again because bitcoin is potential and strong enough to lead the crypto world into a better place. This is perfectly normal. Prices do rise and fall. On 2014, the year started with bitcoin's price at $758 and that same year ended at $320, a 58% declined. Afterwards from 2015-2017, end price of bitcoin flourished year after year.

This year 2018, bitcoin started at $13,860 and now currently (as of this writing) $5366, a 61% declined. However, I do believe bitcoin will be able to recover and its value will increase multiple times in the coming months and years. Patience is the key right now.

Basically i'm accepting the fact that btc is now at $5k and also when the situation comes and it comes, expected though, and for what i believe bitcoin is staying at the bottom and i hope it explode again and shock the world repeating it's shocking or even exceed it's price before.

well, the price of bitcoin is dropping, it's normal every year. for those who believe in the potential of bitcoin, maybe they will still hold back the assets they have. well, I myself will hold the bitcoin that I have, although I can say I have lost 10%.

Not much since this kind of price decrease is normal in cryptocurrency market.   Developers, supporters and merchants are still developing, supporting and using Bitcoin and its technology so I guess this is just a temporary set back for BTC.  We just need to wait for sometime to see the uptrend of price again.  There is still good news to come for Bitcoin so it is moronic to think that Bitcoin is done.

I'll agree the situation is bad but I don't think all hope is lost, I feel this bloodbath shall stop in few days and we'll see bitcoins back to 6k levels. I am not going to loose faith in bitcoins, sometimes it rises, sometimes it fall in fact I believe this period it's good to buy in, and get a nice average of buying prices. It's in history of bitcoins to shoot up after falling down, just hodl on we shall see upwards trends soon.

BTC is falling because bitcoin is very volatile and that's already its nature. There's nothing to complain or whine about it if in the first place you already know how risky bitcoin investment is.

As i know bitcoin has drop so much because someone sells bitcoin in amount over $19,5m and this caused this drop. I think bitcoin will recover, just have some patience and we should see a good grow if not this year, in Q1 2019. Inflation can come from many sources, its not just this one element.  Besides the base utility to value transferable over crypto there is a few different causes of inflation.   I believe one of them is monetary velocity which would roughly relate to the size of the population of users and also how often they exchange value between themselves, that can help to raise the value of the currency used in those transactions

I do agree there is inflation from leverage, its not natural to crypto because this is not operated on that fractional reserve base but it can come from outside the blockchain quite easily.    At some point we will have lost those leveraged participants who were mostly speculators, its reasonable to continue on a more stable but slower path then I think

In November 2016 bitcoin price was in between 4k$ to 5k$ but after the first 5th-6th day of December there was an increment of almost 2k$ in bitcoin's price so December of 2018 is coming after 11 days and bitcoin always start growing in December so don't lose hope and hold your coins till 2019's first quarter.

Btc is falling and the price is really worrying for many. It has been long that price has no changes until now. I am also hoping for the best in bitcoin to have a good news that will rise and can recover it’s price.

I remember when btc price was at 200$. An i thoight it was expensive back then not understanding how cryptocurrencies worked. Even so i bought half a btc back then (i should have bought way more). I bought more altcoins(when very very cheap) and btc later when it was at level 3600$\8000$. Still buying fractions now. It coupé stop falling at weekly 200 SMA approx at 3000$ . if it goes down more i will buy more (always fractions). I think if it goes below 1000$ is not a good sign and i would stop maybe buying for sure below that level  even if temptation would be high . maybe i would still buy lol. I believe in bitcoin for sure and i m sure it will skyrocket to big heights in the future

Panic at some point can make us more aware and alert of what are happening around us but if it's too much and is becoming unhealthy then it's another story. It can never help at all, it only worsen the situation. In every situation we must evaluate when to react and respond for us to be guided accordingly and not to lose track. The current state of price is at lower range, price correction can be very worrying to look at but we need to accept the reality that there are things in life that are out of control, and there's an advantage into it like buying low, hold,  and sell high when market get back on track. It's not going to be easy but never lose patience, determination, persistency, and focus.
