2  Economy / Economics / Re: This what poor people need on: December 14, 2021, 08:46:15 AM
I am not sure whom you are defining as poor. In my country, poor people don't have the money or knowledge to invest in an IPO. They bearly live with their life by hand to mouth.

As an investor, I am also aware of the necessity of money management skills. But it doesn't mean you have to hire a fund manager for that. If you spend some time then you will also be able to learn the key factor and acquire knowledge about money management. Getting lucky with Shiba Inu doesn't mean you have good money management. Money management means risk distribution which is not so hard to learn if you can control your greed and emotions.

I agree with you. The poor would hardly bother with IPOs and whatnot because they're too busy trying to make ends meet and feed one another. To be able to learn about money management and finances is a privilege.

You have to get out of your high chairs and realize that the system is flawed and its not the less fortunate's fault to be in their situation. Everything is a lot harder because you have less access to almost anything as compared to the privileged. Having privilege truly does play a part in making it in society.
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the market going to dump like that 2018? on: December 14, 2021, 08:06:18 AM
If you're fazed by the current dump then maybe you should re-visit your investing strategy, maybe you have overinvested too much. Personally, I like keeping a bit of liquidity for occasions like this. Its a very good opportunity to average down your holdings. My advise is to 1) keep your emotions in check. 2) take the time to learn basic chart reading or indicators. Even if you don't day trade, its going to be useful to you during days like this when you're not sure of where the market's going. If the market is ranging/choppy, its best to just step aside. If you have high conviction on your investments, you shouldn't get too worried then.

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC seems to be fading out and loosing popularity. on: March 21, 2021, 02:32:00 PM
Quite the opposite IMO. What you mean to say I think is BTC seems to no longer be in hype, but its still quite popular. While there are still undoubtedly a vast majority of people who don't know bitcoin, I think that its even more popular today as compared to the past years plus its reputation is even better as compared during the time when ICOs were booming. Because of many ICO scams back in 2017, it has tainted the image of Bitcoin and was momentarily blocked in various parts of the internet (facebook, youtube) but now you can see that they are slowly warming up to bitcoin (recent addition of crypto tab on Google Finance). This current bull run has added to Bitcoin's popularity as well, as institutions are slowly adopting. Have you even been reading the news lately?
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you have a Bitcoin exit strategy? on: March 21, 2021, 02:22:36 PM
Hi, this is my 1st post and not sure if I can ask this here.
But my question is,  how do I find out the least expensive way to sell BTC back into US fiat.
I have Coinbase and Binance.us that I can easily use but are there alternatives? And how much should I expect to pay?
I realize volatility factors in. Is there a place to track fees?
I guess this fits in with the exit strategy question, but not sure. And I'm not sure I am asking the right question.

In Binance, I think there's an option for you to put up sell ads in P2P trading allowing you to sell your BTC back into fiat to other binance users and they can pay you thru your preferred payment method or directly to your bank account. You can also set your own rate, so you can sell it for a higher price (assuming that buyers will take it). For me, this is the best option without having to go thru fees or taxes and whatnot and since you can have it transferred directly to your bank.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: $5 Worth of LTC & $5 Worth of USDT - Binance - What to do? on: March 21, 2021, 02:09:59 PM
Can you convert the rest of the $5 to LTC so that you can sell all of them altogether? But I wouldn't recommend that because you might run the risk of LTC price dropping before you can sell then have about $9.90 worth of LTC which you can't trade... another option is you can deposit more just so you can buy more LTC then sell them. Or you can convert all of them into BNB as mentioned by the others. It can be selected once you view your wallet. Other than that, I guess you can only leave it there for now.
9  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Php High Rates on Binance? on: March 21, 2021, 01:48:59 PM
Pero recently, naexperience ko ang delay since ako yung bumili sa P2P, and option ko is GCASH pero yung accoung ng seller is na meet na yung limit sa gcash nya so he asked me to pay thru banks or paymaya, ako naman sumunod nalang sa kanya at nagtransafer sa paymaya account nya.

Is it gcash to union bank account thru instapay?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Assassin's Creed Publisher Is Making The Next Generation Of NFT Games on: March 21, 2021, 01:43:43 PM
Gaming giant Ubisoft continues to explore the possibilities of blockchain gaming, from NFTs you can share between games to token taxes for charity.
So that means you can rent share and purchase second hand games with the help of blockchain or you can own in game things and then you can trade them later. I am yet to understand how it will succeed but i have heard about in games sales for huge amounts and the NFT can help them in that aspect and these gaming companies can develop things that can be interesting.

I think it would make it possible for them to incorporate blockchain items across multiple games, from my understanding, then you may trade and sell these on the marketplace. Currently its already being done by Enjin and Axie Infinity but if Ubisoft is able to develop it more then that would be really great. NFTs have very big potential and I hope that more developers jump into this and just doesn't become hype that will eventually die down. As of now, its pretty trendy with the risk of bubbling out.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robin Hood plans to expand its crypto currency services on: March 21, 2021, 12:35:19 PM
I'm not so familiar with Robinhood so I'm not so sure, but are you able to buy the actual coin? Or is it similar to Etoro where you can't actually transfer it to wallets because you're not actually buying the coins? Its only speculative, like stocks. Its nice to see that there are many interested users however Robinhood had some issues during the GME fiasco a while back so if you plan on buying crypto, then Robinhood may not be your best bet. I guess many traders want in to cryptocurrency because of the current bull market but are not actually keen on owning it.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Power consumption propaganda? on: March 20, 2021, 03:47:58 PM
Obviously, the ones saying that Bitcoin consumes too much electricity don't even know what they're saying. I don't understand why they're so quick to point their fingers when there's literally so much other industries that kills the environment. Why not shift their focus to that, huh? You would think that they have turned out to be environmentalists all of a sudden. You can't deny the fact the Bitcoin really does consume a lot of energy but the propaganda exaggerates it too much to show a negative side of Bitcoin.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have a relatives who ask advise to invest, what should I do? on: March 20, 2021, 03:17:18 PM
Is there any other reason why he's currently FOMO-ing? Is he in need of immediate money or is it because of the bull run?

Expecting instant returns is just a spell for trouble. He's just going to get emotional and once he experiences a market dip, he won't be ready for it and might make him choose bad decisions. He might be better of on investing on something else, like investing on himself.
Personally, if I were in your position I would give him the tools to check out what coins have good potential. I teach them what are the indicators to check out, what red flags to watch out for and give them my sources. I too have a lot of friends asking for this kind of advise and I'm very cautious of what I say. In the end, its their money not mine.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to start as a beginner? on: March 20, 2021, 03:02:46 PM
I find this guide very useful especially for those who want to begin and have no idea where to start. Its a good read since there's not that much technical terms so its very beginner friendly. It's basically a condensation of all the basics of Bitcoin, Crypto and Blockchain which I think should really be the first thing to learn especially for you to be more familiar on terminology. Jump from one board to another, you can learn a lot here just by reading from the threads in a day.  Cheesy
15  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Php High Rates on Binance? on: March 20, 2021, 01:38:54 PM
While yung una naman, since may  completion rate siguro tutuo.

Pwede kang mag appeal sa Binance tapos malolock yata yung account or suspended from trading from what I heard (someone correct me nalang if I'm wrong) kaso yun nga lang kung narelease mo na yung bayad parang hindi na din marereverse ng Binance yun. This is why always make sure na lang to check your balance first or ask for proof.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt Coins to buy with 200$ on: March 20, 2021, 01:28:23 PM
Would you really take advise from strangers from the internet? You're already in this forum which can provide you with so much information plus there's the internet. Since you mentioned that you don't know really much about crypto then I really suggest you DYOR first instead of asking randos what to buy. Never buy into anything that you don't understand for yourself. You can drop by the beginners and help board. You also have to assess your risk appetite. Take note that if you're buying alts, the risk is potentially higher.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's information insurgency on: March 20, 2021, 01:23:00 PM
Loved the laser eye memes. Saw it everywhere on twitter for a period of time. Not many realize the impact of memes, especially for the younger generation. While its mostly just for laughs, it definitely has a deeper message than most realize. Its a collective effort. I agree with Pomp and its only just a matter of time. Each day I see articles from various traditional banks (Morgan Stanley, Bank of American then Deutsche just the other day) all expressing their thoughts about Bitcoin and I think its because they too realize that they can't just keep on avoiding Bitcoin even if they don't want to.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is now "too important to ignore", says Deutsche Bank [Today!] on: March 19, 2021, 03:53:00 PM
Is this really an indication that the Big banks will be more accepting towards Bitcoin?

I think they have resigned to the fact that there will be increasing demand for Bitcoin. With Paypal, Mastercard and Visa plus surveys showing that many retail investors are interested in buying bitcoin, even wanting to use up their stimulus checks on crypto. This is something they can't avoid and they'll just be run over if they keep on evading. Demand is coming and adoption is slowly creeping in. It's only a matter of time when their consumers will start demand for bitcoin or crypto products otherwise they'll just venture elsewhere.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The higher BTC goes, the bigger the risk/reward ratio and the less buyers enter on: March 19, 2021, 03:39:21 PM
Funnily enough, I think its quite the opposite and probably even more buyers will enter once the price gets higher. Once it hits $100k people will think, what's this asset? And why is it valued as such? I find that most people will get in once price is high, and not when its still low because it has been established that there is value once price is high. Even amongst traders this is common as there are those who would chase the highs. If people believe that Bitcoin is worth that value, then there will still be buyers.
20  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bagong Crypto Trading Platform sa Pinas - BloomXapp on: March 19, 2021, 01:42:50 PM
