Doesn't have to be a bit coin auction site though. Those are ebay fees and how they make their money even if they accepted BTC it would still be the same.
Yup, ebay hosts the auction for you and makes their money off of FEES. Frankly, sometimes it is worth it seeing as how much time spent/lost on trying to sell local or on other websites. At least with ebay you can reach a larger audience and simply sell your item and not let the fee weigh down the time you saved. |

The site says 2x1200watt power supplies and it's drawing 1500w from the wall. But here is the kicker.. It says 3000w nominal power. So does this machine operate at 2400w or 3000w at any given time? Thanks
The machine will operate at 3000W. The PSUs can do 1200W, but they can be overclocked by 10% which would make them run at ~1320W. This is the power they feed to the chips. The power that they will draw will be 1500W per PSU. Thanks for clearing this up |

My experience - consumption:
3x S3 (218,75MHz) - PSU Corsair RM1000 230V 1000W (12V/83A) - on the wall 1020-1035W, so if efficiency 88%, it means on DC side only 905W (+/-)
2x S3 (218,75MHz) - PSU FSP AURUM PRO 850 230V 850W (12V/70A) - on the wall 670-676W
2x S3 (237,5MHz) - PSU FSP AURUM PRO 850 230V 850W (12V/70A) - on the wall 740-745W

This is just awesome... this is just the first two S3's. The others will be at my collo guys place Fri, gotta love UPS from china to the US. Nothing will be sitting in a warehouse over the weekend ! This assumes package two clears ok like the first seem below.
Either way, baring any unforseen issues, I should have two of my four S3's up and running in 12 - 16 hrs... 2am here now where I am in the US.

Looks like batch 5 just sold out.
Batch 1 sold out in hours. Batch 2 also sold out in hours. Batch 3 sold out in less than a day. Batch 4 sold out in about a day, maybe slightly more Batch 5 finally sold out tonight, after being open for what, a couple of weeks? Point being is the market saturated? batch 5 wasn't open for a couple of weeks. |

5 Hours in and they are still up. Stock clocks 442 gh/s each in the webui. Mining on WestHash.com (The North American version of NiceHash)
WestHash is showing 930 GH/s avg 5 min accepted speed. No rejects
Looking at the graphs on WestHash...and it looks like it running between 890 gh/s to 1000 gh/s

hey folks,
I've been looking around for a power supply suitable for overclocking a single unit. I will run the unit stock for a time, then oc it sometime later. I would like a power supply suitable for both modes of operation. So far, I find plenty of 2x pcie units, but very few 4x pcie units (ive been told oc'ing requires all 4 pcie cables to be connected.) Can someone please point me to a suitable product that has 4 pcie connectors for ocing (or point me to a unit that can do it with two cables)? It would be greatly appreciated, this has caused me a great deal of confusion. Pardon if this has been covered before.

I oc'ed one of my units using only 2 cables and is doing 500Gh/s happily. Others have reported issues with using 4 cables and the way I look at it is, the S1 only uses 2 cables and they draw more power so it should be a non-issue. The issue is what your wires handle. Using 2 seperate 6pins is different than using 1 cable with 2 6pins on the end. |

Just got my first two antminer s3 and just got them set up. So far they hashing at 450 gh/s avg with jumps to 500 gh/s with a avg on nicehash at 950 gh/s for both of them. It's only been 2 hours. I got them at stock clocks.
Nothing below 440 gh/s yet...looks like batch 5 is solid like a rock!

My B3 units are veritable lemons, I need to restart them every 1/2 hour to keep it over 400gh. My B5 units are all hashing 440gh at stock clocks after 4.5 hours.
How do you have batch 5 units already if they ship on August 7th!? |

Any chance you can share your experiences on UPS vs DHL shipping with the antminer s3? When will they stop accepting the orders for batch 5? Did you guys prefer DHL or UPS when it came to ordering from bitmaintech?
DHL is the way to go if you are in the USA. My Batch 5 shipped yesterday and its already in Cincinnati OH, and has passed customs I should have it Monday. Go DHL if you are in the USA! Really batch 5 or batch 4? 5 says it ships on the 7th! I'm a tad bit confused on how your shipment made it from China to Ohio in one day |

Is anybody running three S3's from a Corsair AX1200i without problems (not overclocked) ?
Just wondering if this will be OK, I have the offer of a cheap one from a friend.
Yes, i am running 2 x S3 on a 1200i. Pulls 1040 from the wall. No problem. Not overclocked? That seems wrong. These units pull ~366w stock frequency. |
