Surely the sender (Bitmain) just provide a tracking number that one can use anonymously on the UPS website to track delivery progress?

I am very disappointed. I will never buy from them! That really stinks! Not really bitmains fault though... Call UPS. My batch 5 order was doing this for 3 days and I called UPS this morning. It's in Anchorage now and will be delivered tomorrow.

Jeez you would think with the prices you're paying, AMT would handle all these customs/shipping issues for you instead of making the customer call UPS to figure out what's going on. Again, just like BFL, these mining companies are not held to the same standard as "regular" companies.

anyone asked Bitmain to declare less value per unit to the custom ? I asked them to do so they said they can't do it. I pay 30 % TAX that would be very helpfull...

Just got five Batch 5's. Added wifi antennas to all. Configured exactly like S1s. Too early to give longer term stats, but...I have about 80% signal (@60 ft with 3 walls between miners and router - exactly the same as the S1's). One hour hash rate is ~440 - 450GH/s.
Wifi mod is less than 6 bucks a miner. I didn't drill any holes...just ran the pigtail through the same slot as front fan wires and propped the antenna on the top of the fan case/face of the miner (not great, but I hardly touch the miners once running properly so this should be fine...no need for switch or network cabling -- Just configure, plug 'em in and mine)...even with the mod, I had all 5 up and running in about an hour and a half.
I will update with longer term stats after a day or two. Only issue was one fan that had a pinched sensor wire (blue)...so the fan ran full blast...unpinched wire...all is good. The S3s are MUCH quieter than the S1s (at least at stock clock)
Once again, BITMAIN ROCKS!

I just set up a Batch 5 unit that was delivered today, and I could swear that the "Elapsed" time in the "Mining Status" page does not reset, after powering down a unit.
It's throwing off the average hash-rate number.
Read: If it's been up for an hour, and I turn it off, move it to another room, and turn it back on, it shows it's been up for an hour already. The "Uptime" field on the "Overview" page is accurate, however.
EDIT: sshing into the box and issuing a "reboot now" command resets the Elapsed time on the Mining Status page.

Bitmain wont expend any more overhead than they need to which is obvious for the lack of quality control and the handling of their shipping queue.
Maybe instead, you should rule with an iron grasp of sentence construction. Way to be polite there, but lets see how your sentences come together when your fuckin tired and have to run out the door but make a quick post first.

To be decided...

Really??? Why would Bitmain falsify records so that you can avoid paying taxes that you rightfully owe? Why don't you ask your neighbor if they will pay your income taxes for you, too? Note that I pay two or three times more in taxes than most people make in gross pay...I believe many countries' taxation systems are fundamentally broken, however I also believe if abiding by the law. If you don't like the law, be a catalyst for change.

I have a B1 that does that time to time from a power cycle but always clears with a reboot or save and apply. What a pain though.

So perhaps you should kindly stfu about how much you like paying taxes.

Batch 1 sold out in hours. Batch 2 also sold out in hours. Batch 3 sold out in less than a day. Batch 4 sold out in about a day, maybe slightly more Batch 5 finally sold out tonight, after being open for what, a couple of weeks? Point being is the market saturated?

Bitmain,
Could you let us know about the upgrade kits for S1s and S2s? When will these be available? I'd like to upgrade all of my S1s. Also, will the DC/DC component be fixed in these?
Why bother? What cost savings are you expecting to realize from reusing an aluminum frame and maybe the controller? $40? The benefit is not only coming from the $40 but the discount for upgrading blades.

I just got back from UPS to send my faulty board back to Bitmain. The guy at the counter was amazed that the label was for Express service, and he said that costs over $1000 to do that! If Bitmain would set up an advance replacement system (with a small BTC deposit for security against receiving the faulty unit), they could save that excessive cost in one direction of the warranty process.
I just sent them an email to that effect. It's a win/win - Bitmain could save a lot of money by only having to ship the replacement part on the expensive service, and use a regular (cheap) service to receive the faulty. The customer benefits by getting the replacement part first and won't have to shut down their mining hardware while waiting for the replacement (at least in cases unlike mine where they at least have a partially operable unit).
BITMAIN - PLEASE CONSIDER THIS! Not only is it pretty much standard practice for a lot of manufacturers, in this case it actually will SAVE YOU A SHIPLOAD OF MONEY. Add to that the side-effect of happy customers, I don't see how you can't implement this!
They never pay for $1000. Huge volume shippers get free return service from shipping companies. They are using their free slots of return, not to pay anything for that. You could ask them for the security deposit workaround and send them first.
