1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best Crypto Wallet on: May 23, 2024, 02:51:17 PM
Bitcoin core is a bad choice for many beginners, I said this because OP stated that he is not even holding a lot of Bitcoin, but he planned to hold for the future, I doing someone like him can afford to run Bitcoin core and download that massive data.

It costs me $30 to get 300MB in my country every damn month and Bitcoin core requests over 500MB right now, that will cost a lot, since this is even Bitcoin we are talking about there are many good Bitcoin wallets out there now compare to alt crypto wallets.

I recommend Unstoppable wallet, everything OP asked for is present in this open source non-custodial Bitcoin wallet, Electrum is also a good choice but I can't recommend the Mobile version, it is too buggy, Unless OP has a laptop PC, but Unstoppable is available on mobile phones, the best ever for anyone looking for a Bitcoin wallet for mobile phones.

2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: May 23, 2024, 08:27:51 AM
Many people don't check their lotto results because every day is like a normal day where they don't always win so they get used to it.

Claiming your reward the same day is great and a day after is also great but if it takes too long something else might happen.

I read somewhere online that there is a timing to how long you can delay your jackpot from lotto, I think it's up to a month or so. I can't remember but even if you keep losing every time don't ever stop checking.

The longer it takes to claim your rewards the harder it will get to verify and pass all the necessary checkups and documents, always check, every winner has their days, and you never know when yours will be.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: May 23, 2024, 06:43:06 AM
I am not one to judge but every gambling addict I have meant are encountering trust issues in their relationships. It has affected them so much that they do not mind deceiving others just to be able to gamble. You see them sitting quiet and sober whenever they lose. They avoid all forms of human interactions and it affects their social and support networks. I think that anyone who is willing to speak up and intentionally seek for help will have someone running to save them.
People who are addicted to gambling will never think twice about cheating people to gain money. Gambling addicts will never think twice about cheating on their family members what they would cheat on others. I have a neighbor here who is so addicted to gambling that he doesn't earn any cash but the family is constantly taking money from his parents and wasting money by gambling.  When his parents say something, he gets angry. Constantly takes money from his mother if his mother doesn't give him money he even lays his hand on his mother.  After seeing how gambling is really harmful to a person or gambling turns a healthy life into an unhealthy environment. Play for them. Of course, everyone should refrain from such gambling so that his family's happiness and peace will be maintained and he will be able to live a healthy life.
My neighbor was the same as what you said but ended up committing suicide because he was in accumulating debt playing gambling slots. starting from deceiving close people to stealing, large debts without the family knowing. ended tragically when the debtors asked for the money to be returned immediately in a very large amount but the family was unable to pay the debt. Unable to pay the debt, my neighbor became frustrated/destroyed and even hanged himself due to the effects of excessive gambling.

He is very stupid for taking his life, if he get arrested or charged to court and get locked up how will he pay the debt back? So they will have to come up with an agreement to start paying the money back.

I know someone who owe a lot of money too, he was arrested few times and they made him Pay the money slowly through is job, as he get paid every month some percentage is sent to the person he iowesand the rest is for his survival and also his family too.

Every country has its debts, even the rich have debts too, taking your life because of debt makes absolutely no sense, something he could have prevented if he only used money that belonged to him, he will now be punished for taking his own life in the afterlife, he can't escape this.

Financial losses are better, because you invested your money hoping to bring you rewards, but gambling is different, you want to hit the jackpot in a day, it will surely comes with emotions and mental issues if care is not taken.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How has big wins and jackpot stories affected your gambling habit? on: May 23, 2024, 05:58:58 AM
we know that apart from the fun that some gamblers enjoy while gambling, the majority of others gamble basically because they want to make money from gambling, and in doing this, I have come to notice that gambling stories play a great role in determining if a gambler will reduce his gambling, go more aggressive in terms of the amount used in gambling or even quite gambling momentarily.

I've read and watched stories of people who hit a big jackpot and from a first-person point of view, the first thing that comes to mind is that " I wish I was the lucky person" and the effect of such an experience has always been to keep trying with the hope that I might get lucky to win my jackpot.

I just want to know, How have jackpot stories affected your gambling routine?

Have you ever increased the amount you normally used in betting just because someone you know won big by betting with a greater amount?

To say the truth, I have wished to be a winner like someone else many times before, but I couldn't let go of the reality that this is gambling, also I strongly believe that someone else path can't be the same as mine, so I move on after the weird feeling and thoughts.

When it is my time to gamble I still go my old ways, using the same amount I have been risking on gambling and I stop once I run out of money, I don't do what others are doing even if they get more luckier than me, it makes no difference, I could embark on what they did and I will be the one to lose.

You can't always be as lucky as others, and this gambling thing is all about luck, so why would you wish for something you can't control? It is safer to protect yourself when it comes to gambling, you can copy others in something else but not in gambling.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concerns grow over online gambling among teens on: May 22, 2024, 01:52:51 PM
Come to think of this, it is a big problem if young people are not taught about gambling, I so agree with this idea of lecturing teens about gambling in schools but at the same time some teens don't get into gambling because of their environment, no one is doing it and they don't need to, if gambling lectures are brought to school it will be more eye-opening to everyone in these schools.

One the reasons why gamblers get addicted all started with how they start gambling from they one, they have no idea what they are about to do and they get lucky, it then becomes a part of them.

The world is turning into a more tasking place to be, it feels like the dead are the lucky ones, money is now a problem for everyone, including kids in schools, I wonder how many will focus on their educations if a part of them is worried about surviving, and since some gamblers are still getting lucky it makes these teen feel like they are the next on the line to make some good amount of money from gambling.

If you are a parent with teens at home, you should consider talking about gambling to them, you may never know who is into gambling already and hiding it from you all this while, don't wait until they are been thought in school, this is just an advice, it may never be implemented.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lunatic gamblers who says Airdrop rewards are free funds. on: May 22, 2024, 08:02:21 AM
I guess that's because the airdrop tasks required aren't hard enough for them to see it as a worthy way of earning money.

I know such people exists, not until they get tired from doing a harder job they won't see the likes of airdrops as tasking, to them it is still free money.

Still, this doesn't mean they should risk everything on gambling at once without a responsible strategy, mind you, airdrops don't pay all the time, from my own side of view it is still not that easy to make money from airdrops.

Or am I missing something? Do airdrops pay all the time? The last time I went all in on airdrops only 2 out of 20 pays as promised, they mostly don't care, you do all those tasks and you get nothing in the end.

Now think about wasting all the money from a airdrop that paid after so many airdrops failed to pay? It makes no sense.

I don't believe that anything is free, if you are getting something for free you should check yourself and your environment, you could probably be in danger to yourself or a threat to others.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seeing is no longer believing on: May 22, 2024, 06:22:52 AM
To be honest, these CEOs if they will have a webinar or going to take a call for someone who's a potential investor, they're going to do it with a group video call or with a scheduled one not just with them having someone on their back but also with other potential investors that they're selling their token/coin. There is also deep fake, an AI that's able to copy the face of the person they're imitating. This is rampant now and if it's about these messaging apps, I am already taking notice to them that I should be careful and always notice a red flag and don't trust anyone on the web quickly that you have just talked to. Anyone can pretend to be someone.

If CEOs and his team members will have a webinar call with you then you must be a developer, someone they are planning to have on the team or maybe you are a popular streamer and they want to talk about their projects and their updates so far.

These are reasonable, but it makes no sense for the CEO and his team member to have you on video live as an investor trying to confuse you to buy their tokens, even if this is real it is stupid, because it is either the project is not doing well or they lack good funding, it is better to avoid it anyways, but most importantly they are always scams.

I don't blame scammers, I blame the newer technology, because they made them available to everybody, both the evil ones and the good ones, there is no way this won't happen, the better the innovation is the more useful it will likely be for bad people.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Crypto investment is exhausting for some ? on: May 22, 2024, 04:42:21 AM
I am tired, I got out of crypto because of the constant vigilance that crypto requires from me, it is too exhausting.

You can't trust anyone, you can't trust anything, all you have to keep doing is keep verifying everything, but for how long?

To keep your crypto assets safer they said you need a hardware wallet, as if this is the end to the worry, only to start guiding your recovery seed again.

These words are not mine, but from someone who always bothered me about crypto lectures, I am surprised that he is giving up, some truth does present in what he said but ....

I guess he is just lazy? Or he want something different all along?

I think crypto isn't for everyone, some won't just be able to cope with crypto investment, maybe because they are lazy asses or they need to be elsewhere to make their money? What do you think about this?

Have you seen people giving up on crypto after they spent some time doing research on crypto and even investing?
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 21, 2024, 03:17:59 PM
That's a good piece of advice for all of us, but I don't think it would be applicable to a person with gambling problems particular to addiction.

There's no improvement that I see, it kepts recurring nothing happens and his debts is increasing so bad because of gambling.

Yes OP's post advice is practical however easier said than done. it's very easy to know what you should be doing before your session, but once your emotion arises, you forget all about those things about your rules. That's why it will always take you to much about your overall discipline following it. Otherwise, you will go in circles and getting back to your bad habits and addiction. You need to consciously end the cycle of you being a loser of the game and the only way to do that is to just do and follow your rules consistently. Discipline is not a magic handed to you. You must hone and develop it.

Actually, there's no easy ways to change a person especially when they're binded with addiction. However, if we felt a lot of failures because of that wrong decisions we made I guess it's our best chance to overcome certain habits instead of experiencing the same situation. Commiting the same mistakes, knowing that it caused you several circumstances no one will be blame but ourselves.

Unfortunately, common sense is not common.

If not, why would anyone borrow money all because of gambling? When it comes to risks you shouldn't be using money that's not yours, most times they will land you in trouble, I almost took a loan to invest, yeah you heard right, to invest in crypto some weeks back but I changed my mind, now the asset have dump like 20% more.

This is why DCA is the best, slowly accumulation rocks, back to the gambling discussion, the risk in gambling is even higher than investment, you can lose everything if luck isn't on your side for that day.

Even if the money is all yours, think about the hard work you put in before getting the money, people don't get it that luck doesn't happen always, and it is clearing that this is what brings money for the casinos, you won't always get lucky, and most times you will lose, do someone needs to tell you to thread carefully around gambling? No.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is boxing the worst sport to bet on? on: May 21, 2024, 08:21:39 AM
You really have to be someone who likes boxing to place bet on boxing, this game has some strict rules but is very entertaining if you like boxing, I do not like placing bets on boxing but I love watching the actions, but isn't boxing a game to consider fixed?

For many, boxing could be the worst sport of all to place bets on, I can see why but there are few boxing fans that do nothing else than gambling on boxers, sometimes there was some past fights that ends with unfair result and they are too complicated to judge.

It is always left for the referee or the judge to choose a winner, in this case I don't always like it, some fights have no winner and some are miscalculated and unfair but all in all, you get what you want, to be entertained, that's why you must be a responsible gambler to yourself.

Risk only what you can afford to lose.
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: Always consider security features of any device you're getting on: May 21, 2024, 07:22:47 AM
You can't even tell a difference until you use different smartphones yourself and the preinstalled OS on the phones is even closed source to me, and yet they claimed it is more secure, all I know is that these manufacturers have their ways of tracking and watching you if they want.

I have used Xiaomi several times and I have no issue with them, I have run crypto wallets on these phones and nothing bad happened, but I never intended to keep large amounts of assets on a mobile crypto wallet anyway, so there is no smartphone that I can't use right now, I have a hardware wallet.

@BitMaxz every Xiaomi devices that I used all supports Playstore by default, I don't know the type that you got though also what security features do you expect from Google? I would rather not have Google running on my phone, if you really want to be safe from possible spies and data breaches Google is a no, this is why till date I don't consider buying a Google Pixel phone.

Just get a Open-Source Android ROM running on your phone, a pal of mine will always install one on his every brand new phone, if you want real security on your phone this is the way or just get a hardware wallet and use your android phone as it is.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Religion. Beliefs or Choices? on: May 21, 2024, 06:19:13 AM
However, people still gamble for various reasons.
We can assume that the people who still gamble are not from the religion that prohibits it or if they are they are not very religious. In reality too, almost every religion is averse to gambling, Islam is the only one I know that expressly prohibits any form of riba which will include gambling and also investing in Bitcoin, but Christianity is not welcoming of gambling either or any other religion for that matter.
Gambling is forbidden in Quran. That is why you will see Muslim countries that are strict against gambling. But in Christianity, gambling is not forbidden in Bible. Although you can see Christian religious leaders forbidden it as they count it as a love for money which is the root of evil.

The reason was simple, religious people believed gambling is owned by devils. I don't know where you can find in the bible that states gambling is a sin
No where in the Bible that says gambling is a sin.

Many will say the same, but I guess it is because they aren't into Bible reading that deep, I understand but it is not true that there is no where in the Bible that says that gambling is a sin.

The first Timothy 6:9, 10 says the following..

Gambling even with the smallest amount can arouse a destructive love for money.

Isiah 65:11 says the following....

Gamblers often rely on superstitions or luck. However, God views such beliefs as a form of idolatry, which is incompatible with his worship.

When something isn't compatible with your God's worship that makes it a sin, some part sounds like protection of the people from destruction too but all saying the same thing.

Here is another, from the book of Galatians 5:26, it says

Gambling can arouse an unhealthy competitive spirit, which is disapproved in the Bible.

So now are we going to keep saying that there is nowhere in the Bible that says gambling is a sin?
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Runes are now worthless and have killed Ordinals too on: May 21, 2024, 05:34:00 AM
Runes and ordinals are the new meme coins, unfortunately some people are stupid enough to buy some and hold, thinking that if Bitcoin made a new all time high they will become rich, if I say that I am wondering who will buy from them it is a lie, when retailers start running back to the market they might start buying too because they are bunch of idiots, it was how we never believe that the past meme coins will gain attention but they did, some turn rich and some turned poor.

The way people are investing in these useless ideas is mind bothering, some people Soley care about meme coins only, since crypto is mostly about hype anything can happen, here is what I think, right now it is too early to say that runes and ordinals are done, some idiots will still come back and buy, but when this bear market is over many will end up with worthless inscriptions.

Let's see how things will go this time, I am expecting one more noise on runes and ordinals before they finally died and forgotten, it is a shame that many people will lose a ton of money because of this madness.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling: Modern entertainment or highly addictive game? on: May 20, 2024, 09:28:10 AM
~
I do believe that only a few would really be having that kind of real fun seeking activity or something that they could really be able to enjoy on playing gambling but sooner or later on the time that you would be experiencing those loses then that fun and interest would really be that become being desperate and becoming that revengeful on which this is something that most happen for gamblers and this is why they do end up on getting stressed and having that kind of disappointment due to those loses. ~

No, no, that's not what happens to most gamblers. Most gamblers lose money to gambling eventually, that's true, but they are not becoming desperate or revengeful because of that, they just move on, thinking that will try their luck again next day, next week or next year when it's a trip to Vegas. It's just an interesting experience for them, not a tragedy, when they lose their money. It's because they allocated for their gambling only what they could afford to lose.
The lower the amount they lose the easier it is for them to move on.

I am not addicted to gambling, I am addicted to a few other things that have nothing to do with money, and I love it, for example online gaming, like PlayStation and multiplayer games? I do this to get me on good mood.

I do this more than using money to gamble online, in fact I get more fun times playing video games than gambling, so having some great times doesn't have to do with money, I wonder how gamblers are getting totally wrecked in gambling.

It is a bad advice for many gamblers when you tell them not to gamble to make money, but this is just the truth, never ever use more than you can see lost when gambling, some amount are better stay the same than losing it all, build less expectations from gambling.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake curse strikes again, rapper loses on Fury, Usyk bet on: May 20, 2024, 08:16:07 AM
Shame on you all using the name curse on drake, a man losing what he can afford to lose, and sorry to say if that amount he lost got you good well it doesn't to him, get used to seeing millionaires losing millions in sports bets, this is normal, as long as they can afford to lose this amount it is fine by me.

I have lost most of my bets than drake as, but because he a popular figure people started taking this seriously, as if because of who he is he should not be losing money to gambling? Some are even saying it is ridiculous, that he is losing money to gambling? As a gambler that we all are, who is not losing money?

If I ask how many times gamblers have become lucky gradually this week alone I trust that the number will be from 0 to 1 as the max, this is gambling, if you are getting lucky know that it is pure luck and things will change soon.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are confident with your picks, do you win most of the time? on: May 20, 2024, 07:01:13 AM
Confidence and luck are not the same, many confidence on a game or sure bets still leads to losses, I don't want to choose a side, I would rather gamble with what I can afford to lose and enjoy the game instead, confidence in gambling is like you saying that you can see the air.

I know a brother who is into sports betting, he kept losing for a long period of time and is life changed after he choose basketball and abandoned football bets, I don't know how he pulled this off but man, this basketball games is very good to him, as if this was where he was supposed to be right from the beginning.

It is not a must to keep putting your head into football, you can try other sports just to see what happen, in your own case you want to win but in my own case I won't mind losing $5 on a game every week, like I make over 100s over dollars per week anyway, when the time is right luck will come looking for me.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you advise a friend in the same way? on: May 20, 2024, 06:04:07 AM
Never force your friend to invest in Bitcoin, you should only explain the benefits of Bitcoin to your friend, the risks and benefits of Bitcoin. Then let your friend decide independently, moreover, to invest in Bitcoin, you must first understand the basics of Bitcoin well. You tell your friend the basics of Bitcoin, like how to hold it, when it goes down and when it goes up, and what levels it might go to in the future. Let the decision be made her independently.

I don't see anything on that topic that look like forced, the friend asked for advice and OP delivered, OP wanted the best for this friend it is so obvious, what we can't know unless we ask OP is how familiar this friend is with Bitcoin, because people should not be investing in something they have no knowledge about.

To escape inflation, Bitcoin is a good calling, if the money is just sitting in a bank account for years there will be problems, things are getting more costly, even food is expensive, inflation is hitting very hard, what do you expect? It is only a cool that will keep Fiat in the bank for years now, a million in the bank today will be half a million in value in a year and a half or two, depending on the country's economy.

I don't even want to risk this, I would rather keep my money in Bitcoin, it is left for the friend to accept the advice or say no to the advice, maybe you should read the topic again, there is no single words that look like force to me.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 19, 2024, 03:17:04 PM
You are just wasting your strength, all gamblers know the rules but some of them are just born stubborn, their ways are "only one way to find out" if they don't fall at first they won't learn, how can I be advising adults about not taking a loan when starting to gamble? You don't have to tell anyone, they already know, even kids in my city knows that loan is a trap.

If any come asking if they can take a loan I won't advise them not to, normally what they expect is you telling them to proceed, and even if you tell them not to they will still do the same thing, everyone knows how unsafe loans can be but something they are special humans, they can find their ways through.

It is possible if you are lucky but gambling doesn't have a lot of room for luck, so don't go out there looking for one, instead focus on having a good time and risk a small amount of money, this is a practice that a responsible gambler will do instead of chasing the impossible.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chased loss, got it back and lost everything. on: May 19, 2024, 10:27:45 AM
Anyone here familiar with this kind of scenario on the title? Just recently saw a compulsive gambler diary which he manage to recover everything when he chased loss then later on he loss it all.

Reading this guy confession https://www.gamblingtherapy.org/forum/topic/compulsive-gambler-chased-loss-got-it-back-then-lost-everything-again/ sometimes remind me of myself when I’m still not that fully taking control my gambling habits. I’m sure other players can relate to the part that you still keep playing after recovering your losses for a hope to win a little bit before you leave.

I am not surprised, many gamblers don't really understand that taking breaks in gambling is the way, gambling is built in a way that you will find it hard to stop, that is even after you win.

No, this is a lame way of gambling, you are to force yourself to stop because believe me, what lies ahead is plans to take back all your money, you run out of funds you stop, you win some money you walk away.

Coming back another day is a great reset when gambling, doing this will make you on predictable for those casino games, trust me, I have better health and expectations when I put unexpected full stop to gambling.

Those games are meant to surprise you, but stopping out of nowhere is you surprising the casino back, learn to know what to stop and also learn to use money you are willing to lose, this won't make you chase some losses.
20  Economy / Gambling / Re: BC.Game asking for KYC before letting me Withdraw on: May 19, 2024, 09:31:17 AM
Just contact their customer support and request the procedure for you to provide the requested information.
He clearly mentioned that he contacted them after which they asked him for his passport which he doesn't have at the moment.

This was already a few weeks ago, and since the OP mentioned it takes about two weeks to renew their passport, it's possible he has already completed KYC verification with a valid document. We simply don't know yet because OP hasn't been active on the forum recently.

Actually I don't understand why it is necessary that a passport is needed to verify KYC. I think what they ask is too sensitive, why not just a simple valid ID to verify the account? And to think, OP has been playing for over 5 years already, he should have been treated like a real VIP, you know when you are a VIP you are treated special and should not be given a headache. Hopefully OP can make an update soon and don't just let this case hanging open.

If I am in his shoe and I escaped this, I might not use the platform anymore, because normally passport should be one of the few ways to pass verification, there should be national ID and also drivers license, I hate platforms that just ask for one, to me it is dubious.

They are going to check that Passport out the same way they will with Drivers license and National identity cards, so why not make all the three available for users convenience?

This is why passing KYC verification first is better than finding out later, we all know that things are changing fast in this space, and just because OP has been using the casino for five years would not write off KYC requirements some day, I accept that they did him dirty if truly he has been using the platform for that long, they should have recognized him as the old customer already.

Gamblers should stop trying to get passed KYC verification, there is no way your favourite online casinos won't wake up one day and start asking for verifications, it is not them, but the will of running the business, they must if they want to keep running thr business.
