All 4 1/4 final games were played. If early quite high scoring (especially Canada - Slovakia which ended 6:3), then evening games were complete opposite. Stakes were high and teams didn't risked much.
For tournaments host Czech Republic 1 goal from power play was enough to beat USA. Another tournament that ends for USA so early and believe it or not, last time they won World Championships was in 1960.
Both Canada andSwitzerland won without much problems, what was probably expected.
Finland - Sweden game, we saw goals only in late minutes of 3rd period. Sweden scored 1st goal, but Finland managed to respond and send game to overtime. And in overtime Sweden won game by scoring goal from powerplay.

Semifinals will be played on Saturday

I was still considering the possibility for a comeback even while it was 2-0. Because I remember their comeback against Roma by scoring 2 goals in last 10 minutes. But Lookman just closed the door to them.  Grin  It was absolutely a huge performance by him. Atalanta really managed to counter Leverkusen by a big victory. By the way Xabi Alonso's choices made me surprised. He didn't start with his main goalkeeper and strikers. I wonder what he was thinking.  Tongue
Seems that most of us were waiting for Bayer comeback after they were down 2:0. After similar things already happened many times this season. They were in even more complicated situation, like against Qarabag (you can see full long list of their late goals there https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1cf1502/bayer_leverkusens_90_minute_goals_this_season/?rdt=64309). But this time it didn't happened.
It wasn't same Bayer as we saw all season long. Wouldn't say that Atalanta played phenomenal game, Lookman simply used every moment that he had, Atalanta fully deserved to win this trophy. Gasperini turned mediacore team into big force and finally his efforts were rewarded with a trophy.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are signature campaigns still a thing in bitcointalk.org? on: May 23, 2024, 07:24:56 PM
But the rates are not as high as they used to be a few years ago.
I wouldn't say that payment rates in most of campaigns changed much in recent years. But it's fact that now we don't have campaigns which are paying way above average

If I get you correctly what you mean is that individual company contacts a member of the forum by making him her a special offer to wear their signatures,  that is nit so popular here in the forum, but I am sure we still have some members of the  forum who have special offers to wear a signatures without any public signatures campaign to employ multiple others.
You always can start topic in Services board with an offer  to rent your signature. But you have to be quite well known member if you want to get individual offer.
5  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: I miss Faucets on: May 22, 2024, 07:51:22 PM
Were there faucets that paid 1BTC (or several bitcoins) at once, because I didn’t catch that profitable times?

Tell us in a little more detail, how much bitcoins was given on average per one-time action and per month?
Oh no, I started few years too late to get such generous rewards Smiley.
When I started with faucets rewards were like 500-1500 Satoshi with timer usually between 5 minutes to 1 hour. Maybe it doesn't looks impressive considering Bitcoin value back then. But there was so many faucets and claiming was so easy that it didn't took long to make some significant amount of BTC. Captchas were easy, there weren't many annoying ads - most of faucets were monetised with Google Adsense. Though, I remember already then people were calling it waste of time.
And when I started promoting my referral links, my earnings from faucets were higher than what I was getting from signature campaigns. Managed to get quite a lot referrals. And I can only imagine how much owners of most popular faucet lists were making from referrals because they had thousands of them.
6  Other / Meta / Re: Is this forum getting worse and worse? on: May 22, 2024, 07:37:40 PM
Wouldn't say that forums is getting worse, it's just getting boring. Wouldn't relate it with mixers ban because I noticed such trends long time before it. I only see ban of mixers as first signs of censorship.
Main reasons already mentioned. Most of things were already discussed already so many times that's difficult to find new topics to discuss. Technical things were already discussed a lot and it's thing not for everyone.
Many old time members who made this forum iconic already left forum for various reasons. Without them Bitcointalk isn't same. Another reason is Bitcoin and crypto turning into mainstream thing, previously lot of discussion were about how to introduce crypto to people and business.
I already miss old times when we have never ending drama in Reputation board or annoying trolls posting from alt accounts Smiley.

Why would they be?

It's not like they are doing anything wrong.
It'e easy to find reasons to ban casinos there. You probably know that most of them is registered in offshore countries like Curacao. They're not paying taxes in rest of countries where they're operating, they not always following all local regulations. Also, I guess fiat bookmakers also aren't very positive about their competition. If governments would start taking actions against them, theymos wouldn't have no other choice than banning casinos, same like he done with mixers.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | SFs on: May 22, 2024, 06:43:25 PM
They did it in Bundesliga so that alone equalled Arsenal's Invincibles so any doubts lingering were gone with that kind of performance. Beat Arsenal's points total, goals scored. What a team.

And now, just two cups away from perfection. I'm not even a Bayer fan but I'm dreaming already, what a memory to treasure.

No value in tonight's game though. 0-0 is also a distinct possibility if I understand the way the Italians will play Wink
That's even more incredible considering that there is less rounds in Bundesliga than EPL.
Not that I would be Leverkusen fan, but I will support them tonight and then DFB Pokal final. Really want to see them making something what it would be difficult to repeat.
Put some money on Bayer and also BTTS. Don't want to see 0:0 final at all, but wouldn't be against extra time and penalties Smiley.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IIHF Worlds Championship 2024 on: May 21, 2024, 08:47:52 PM
2024 World Championship groupstage is over and this is how standings looks:

Sweden is only team with perfect score, while Slovakia takes last spot in 1/4 finals, despite losing to Sweden. They got postive result from other game where USA won against Latvia. Great Britain and Poland relegates to lower division just after year in top.
This is how 1/4 finals looks like, all games will be played on Thursday.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 23/24 European basketball discussion: Euroleague/BBL/ACB/LegaA/LNB/TBL.. on: May 21, 2024, 07:57:58 PM
I'm very excited as there is Euroleague Final Four this week. I know that we aren't the favourite however my confidence in my team is quite high. As there are many Turkish people living in Berlin I expect Fenerbahçe to create an atmosphere like they are the hosts. I'm thinking of making a bet with some money on Fenerbahçe to win against Panathinaikos. If we lose against Ergin Ataman this would be an extra demoralizing factor for me.
Yeah, there is so many Turkish people living  in Germany that I already imagine how much support Fenerbahche will get. But I guess there will thousands of Olympiacos and Panathinaikos fans too, atmosphere should be amazing.
I see semifinal as 50/50 game, if it would be series, I guess we would need all 5 games. Personally, in BSFL I predicted that Real won't win trophy, it would be boring and Final 4 format doesn't works in favor of favorites. Will watch F4 as neutral spectator, but probably Fenerbahche would be my preferred team to win.
10  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: I miss Faucets on: May 21, 2024, 07:48:04 PM
Yeah, I miss these old good faucets, memories about it gives me nostalgia from my early years in Bitcoin. I not only got introduced to Bitcoin through faucets but also made really big money from it. It got my initial capital in such way and didn't had to put my own money into Bitcoin.

Faucet things are now " Good old days" type of thing now. At that time BTC was in early stage and have less users. So faucets offered new users some free sats and encourage them to use the network. Now you can see it came mainstream making it no need to promote plus high fee thing in transaction make faucet almost unconvenient.
It's not just about mainstream and introducing new users. Only few first faucets were about introfuction and weren't commercial. All other faucets was attempt for owner to make some money from ads. When revenue from ads didn't covered expenses, faucets died. Also, big factor is high Bitcoin value. In later years faucets started to pay something like less than 5 Satoshi and when they have 30k Satoshi payment treshold, it can take year to reach it. Doesn't sounds very attractive.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 23/24 European basketball discussion: Euroleague/BBL/ACB/LegaA/LNB/TBL.. on: May 20, 2024, 07:54:53 PM
I follow pretty much all the leagues in Europe, haha. I am a basketball fanatic honestly.

Well Milano lost a game in Italy and Virtus Bologna is even at 2:2 in their series.
In Austria you have the number 5 and number 7 seed in the final (yeah I also watch Austria) .

Bayern Munich (no1 seed) lost game 1 at home vs no 8 Ludwigsburg, huge upset.
I also follow 2nd devisions, for example in Germany, France, Italy and Spain and there have been upsets as well.
You wonder why I do this I guess. I also work part time as a scout.

There is a lot going on at the moment, you just have to follow everything, haha.

Yeah, seems that I missed some upsets. Today both Bayern and Ulm made series 1:1 with their opponents and did it comfortable. Tomorrow game between Virtus and Tortona, should be interesting. Tomorrow also Lithuanian league semifinals will begin. There were no big upsets in 1/4 finals, but series between Lietkabelis and Juventus was one of best 1/4 finals in our league for a while and last game was just crazy.
We have already one champion crowned in big league. Crvena Zvezda sweep Partizan 3:0 in series, such result is big surprise for me.
Following Austria or some 2nd divisions is hardcore. I thought you're doing it for bets, didn't expected that you're part time scout.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 20, 2024, 07:35:48 PM
Can the top ten places PM me their addresses and I'll get the payments sent out this week. Thanks.

Does anyone have an suggestions for a euro fee? I guess we could either go with 0.0005 (£26) or 0.001 (£52). I will have to ask jeremypwr/sportsbet if they want to sponsor it again. Maybe we can go with the cheaper fee if no sponsor or the higher one if we get one.
I prefer higher fee as it means bigger potential rewards. But if others will tell that's a bit too much, I'm ok with lower fee.

I am leaning more and more towards higher buy ins. Makes multi accounting much harder and while I used to believe it wasn't a problem in paid pools I am not so certain anymore. Just had a crisis in Fantasy pool which I would have much rather avoided.
Reading now what happened in FPL pool, didn't expected such thing. In smaller pools like La Liga or Bundesliga I'm sure that we didn't had such thing as almost all users is already well known. Not sure about EPL pool, because not all participant names is familiar for me.
But probably all kinds of cheating can be expected when there is big potential money involved.
13  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 20, 2024, 07:16:56 PM

There is no news about this war anymore unless Congress will once again need to send money to Zelenski. That's the only time this war will be flashed on TV. They keep praising Ukraine is winning but their lands were taken by Russians which if you are not as updated as getting all the channels that talk about this war, you wouldn't know who is winning.

So far the only confirmed information is that Russia is already taking Kharkiv. If a person thinks independently, this info already tells the Russians are winning.
I'm not really sure from where did you made this narrative that western media is praising Ukraine like they're winning. Probably you see what you want to see.
Russia is taking Kharkiv, really? I think there is big difference between taking Kharkiv and taking few villages in Kharkiv Oblast by the border with Russia.

I don't know but from what I see in world news no one cares more that much about this war and this has passed in 2nd page,in the front page of the news now there is Israeli war against Palestine which many claims they are bypassing every single limit in what is a war of defense, many are protesting yet the Israelis claims they have the right to defend the attack that happened in the 7 October and for many they are also right.I am neutral in such war but what I want to emphasize is that most people in the world now are more interested as what Israeli backed by US is doing rather than having again interest in a war longer than 2 years now in Ukraine which we don't know how will end.The world is becoming a very vomiting place as these wars has a clear intention both of them, ethnic cleansing and land claiming.
I actually would be surprised if whole world would be following  it like they did in first  weeks of war. Unfortunately, new about it become routine for most of people. Even Ukrainians are getting tired from this war

Congrats to Harkorede for winning the Round 38 Yellow Cap

What a round to come alive for me!

I have 10/10 for the game week and was also able to find my way into the top!

Great, Great, Great!!!

Congratulations to all winners, it's been one hell of a ride for 38 weeks, see you all next season Wink
Congrats, really impressive to get all 10 incomes right and get into Top 10 in such way.
Got 8 of 10 today, but probably it was only good round for me this season. If I would be doing things a bit more consistently, probably I wouldn't finish 37th. Season to forget for me.
I love Pep, but this City dominace is getting boring already...
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: May 19, 2024, 07:35:20 PM
I'd like to say "What a race!" but I can't. It was quite boring as we didn't see much change in top places. However the last moments of the race were really exciting. I don't know how but Verstappen started to lose a lot of pace and a new chance was born for Norris to go for his 2nd win in his career right after achieving the 1st one.  Smiley
Yeah, whole race wasn't most exciting, I was struggling not to fall asleep literally. There wasn't much action, but probably it was something expected, considering that Imola isn't easiest track for overtaking. But end when Norris gave some good pressure for Verstappen made it worth watching.
If Mclaren will manage to keep what they did today, they're capable to fight for wins in some races. While if Ferrari with upgrade expected to fight with Red Bull, now they will have to reach Mclaren somehow.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: May 19, 2024, 07:23:01 PM
9 from 10 games of 37th round was played at the same time and despite there isn't much things left to fight for, it was eventful round. Crazy game between Villarreal and Real 4:4. Real wasted 1:4 lead and we saw 4 goals scored by Sorloth. And such performance means that now he is Top scorer of league, one Dovbyk goal today wasn't enough to keep 1st place.
Who could have thought that Atletico will get destroyed at home by Osasuna 1:4. And it means that they will finish 4th and can't reach Girona in 3rd place.
Iker Munian said goodbye to San Mames in his last home game in style by scoring goal and then getting susbstituted.
And Cadiz 0;0 draw with Las Palmas means that Cadiz joins Almeria and Granada with relegation ticket.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IIHF Worlds Championship 2024 on: May 18, 2024, 08:14:14 PM
Things didn't looked bad for Latvia when in 2nd period they scored 2 goals in less than minute and made score 2:2 with Sweden. But it ended with another big loss 7:2, it could be much worse, considering how many times Sweden had power play in 3rd period. Now their chances to reach next round and repeat something what they did last year looks very complicated.
Canada - Finland was fun fun game which ended with hard Canada win. Finland is risking a bit to not reach next round, next their game against Denmark which is direct competitor, but I think it won't be difficult and then Swtzerland in last round.
P.S. Basically, there is just 2 of us discussing this tournament, a bit surprised about such low interest, in previous years there was a bit more activity.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 23/24 European basketball discussion: Euroleague/BBL/ACB/LegaA/LNB/TBL.. on: May 18, 2024, 07:58:03 PM
It's all about money. They only want big famous cities with a lot of money in the league, just like FIFA. It's a ll just a corrupt business.  Undecided
That's true. Since when Istarted following basketball almost 20 years ago almost every year I hear talks that Euroleague wants team in London and Paris and now there is talks about Dubai.

Playoffs in full effect.
Already saw plenty of surprises in some of the bigger league until now.

Tonight I won't get a lot of sleep since there are so many games now, haha. But hey, in some weeks the season is over so it is what it is.
Enjoy the games guys!
What leagues you're following. From what I saw, I wouldn't say that there is many upsets. Probably Ulm loss at home against Wurzburg is worth to mention or Valencia losing to Murcia. Paris lost game 1 against Cholet, but now they got confident win and regained home advanage.

Congrats to @morvillz7z with a win and also everyone who finished in Top 5. Same like last year I finished 5th and I'm really happy about my result. Seems that it will be only pool this season where I will end in prize spots.
Bayer made The Invincibles season, achievement that will be difficultto repeat anytime soon. Even Bayern didn't made in years of their domination.
Thanks to @4cygan for running this pool and Sportsbet for sponsorship. See you next season, guys!
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 17, 2024, 07:39:28 PM
In reality, they spend 100m weaponry to destroy 10m worth Russian stuff, so that UK propaganda
has something to write about to hide fact that Ukraine is losing
If you can buy ir make several jets or S-400 system for $10 million, then you must be living in alternative reality. And it's not just all about price - Russia isn't capable to produce as many jets or air defense systems as they wish, after all it's not simple stuff like armoured vehicle.
And yeah, Ukraine is destrying these targets just to hide fact that they're losing, interesting logic.
