He was serious about keeping his anonymity in tact so I honestly doubt you'll find much. Good luck though.
Yes, this might be correct, BUT, we are humans and make mistakes. We already have a couple places where eventually the providers could serve with sensitive information, most likely none of them will provide such information without a legal case. Anyways, i dont want to fill the thread with discussion, instead, only with facts. For discussion id suggest to open a different thread.

On a more positive note, I would like to offer a 50 DRK bounty for a step by step guide on setting up Masternodes, screenshots would be preferable. I went through LimLim's bounties and it seemed like a fair amount. I would also like for somebody like Tante, InternetApe, Chaositec or some other respectable member of the community to validate the guide that gets the bounty. I believe some clear directions and best practices for security would go a long way in encouraging people to set up master nodes.
As I understand the more master nodes on launch the better for Darksend. I understand the risks of setting up the nodes it has been discussed but I think we let each person worry about that, I am sure advice on how to setup and protect your node from DDOS,theft, etc would help. In my case I would have an IT professional that I trust implement the guide. Would somebody be interested in this project?
I would gladly do something like this for 50 DRK but you should specify what exactly you ask for because I think Evan's guide is enough as is. Well, at least I think because my masternode is technically still offline but it seems to be Evan's problem with his initial masternode (reminder: it's beta phase...). if one needs a tutorial its eventually a bad idea to host one unless you plan to fully outsource the management. Thank you thats my plan I have a high level IT professional that will do it, but he has no previous Crypto experience so a guide would go a long way. If hes high level tux he wont need any dummy guide, srsly, damn i have to go off for the day, cya guys.

Life isn't freakin fair.
I never grew taller than my sister.
My husband never became a millionaire.
My dad died when I was a girl.
I couldn't get the freakin miner to work on day one.
I had to buy dark to make my goal.
Too freakin bad, I got over it!
Hehe, i didnt mined fro mday one but could get some coin, also bought for roughly 2 btc. However, i find it sad if something that is really interesting, innovative and wit ha nice community has such flaws. Well we will see how this plays out, but this fade taste stays. I right now try to decide how much time and effort i should put into darkcoin related projects.

Agree, to outsiders this gives a very bad taste, i was annoyed with it in bitcoin already. The thing is, theres no valid reason im aware of to distribute 10, 20, 30, 40 or even more % of a coin within the first weeks, months or even years while theres no or barely an economy where such a distribution is needed. Its not benefiting the crypto currency image and as beeing sayd it does not benefit a coins image. Wish i could write different, but thats how i see it. Its not a darkcoin issue alone, bitcoin did it already.
The difference is, most of the coins have been redistributed long time ago - sold and given away, so it's not an issue. Oh rly? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=316297.0As i tried to line out, theres no valid reason im aware of (if oyu know one, please introduce me) why a coin has to be heavily distributed while there’s no economy around it.

why it's the best coin ?
Probably because he instamined it or bought too much. I love how mining at the beginning of the launch is now synonymous with instamining. Lots of sore miners showing up in here. It's synonymous with instamining because there is no other way to describe 50% of currently available coins being released in 24hrs. After block 4500 the reward dropped from 500 to 56, and the difficulty retarget was changed from 24hrs to 1hr. It's one the most terrible launches I've ever seen. I wish it had been done right in the start. It just looks bad, and the bad press will unfortunately open the door up for numerous "fairdark" clones. I'm not a "sore miner' as I was mining xcoin a few days after launch, although I didn't know about the instamine at the time. You could also argue that I benefited from buying at low prices, which I did, but it doesn't mean I don't care about the blatant instamine. Something like that will haunt a coin. People hate quark because of its "unfair" distribution. Agree, to outsiders this gives a very bad taste, i was annoyed with it in bitcoin already. Indeed, I mean sure I'm dissappointed that I didn't know about btc when it came out and missed that train. Now for every successful coin that comes out and people miss that train they decide it is an instamine coin. Come on people. Well, admittingly thats one thing where people are probably right to be annoyed. distribution of coins, including bitcoin and darkcoin could have been made way more fair by evening out the overproportional gains of the early blocks. Its really hard to ignore this pyramid scheme.

http://pastebin.com/Lgt8wVX5try this, no idea why but the connect function together with addnode and this list solved any connection probs for me. additionally you can try to change the port with "port=9999" in the conf file, got a vpn that blocks port 9999 by default. Thank you, I'll give that a try once the other thingy finishes, LOL 62.141.39.175 is my node , online 24/7. Thank you, I'll add it Edit, it's the first one on the list, LOL yep, list is from my local wallet xD

Ugh, I'm having the age old syncing problem. my windows 7 wallet is on beta 6 and doing fine. My Ubuntu wallet is on beta 6 and not syncing. I took the same info from my windows wallet and put it in my Ubuntu wallet, so it was then synced up until that point. at this time, it's like an hour behind, doesn't show any errors but does say I have 0 active connections and when I do a "getmininginfo" I'm behind in the block numbers.
I can't figure out why it won't sync when both wallets have the same internet connection, same nodes in their config files and I even brought over the peers.dat file from the functioning wallet.
Is there something wrong with the Ubuntu beta 6 wallet? Has anyone tried it yet? Please let me know, thanks !!
What do you have in darkcoin.conf for connection ? (example : addnode, connect, seednode ) This is what I have in both config files: rpcuser=Me rpcpassword=CrazyPassword server=1 addnode=54.80.16.112 addnode=23.23.186.131 addnode=50.16.206.102 addnode=50.19.116.123 addnode=98.165.130.67 addnode=54.242.50.205 addnode=50.17.98.53 addnode=54.225.43.37 http://pastebin.com/Lgt8wVX5try this, no idea why but the connect function together with addnode and this list solved any connection probs for me. additionally you can try to change the port with "port=9999" in the conf file, got a vpn that blocks port 9999 by default.

~1,000 drk a day. Man they are rich already.
yep, botmining is lucrative but in law terms its privacy intrusion and energy theft ^^.

As i understood the cost to run a masternode will be 1000 DRK .
1000 DRK is way too high, i understand you ambition but it would eventually prevent a healthy amount of masternodes.
I would host masternodes worth 2000 DRK, i even have the option to provide different IP geo locations, if one masternode costs 1000 DRK to run i can only host two with my budget. NSA can host thousands!!!!
Please consider that there indeed should be a monetary hurdle but it should be considered really, really carefully. Because probably the advantages outweight the disadvantages from lowering the monetary hurdle.
I really want to urge you to double think about that! 150 - 500 DRK should be much enough to host a masternode!
Best Regards,
