1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is $84k the Peak for Bitcoin? on: Today at 10:18:26 AM
In the latest video analysis, Crypto Banter predicts that Bitcoin could potentially reach $84,000 within the next six weeks. This forecast is based on recent Bitcoin closing prices surpassing key levels, indicating a strong bullish trend.
Key technical indicators, such as the lower RSI levels, support the bullish sentiment for Bitcoin. Bitcoin has been consolidating for 82 days, and breaking above $74,000 would signify the beginning of a new uptrend phase. All indicators suggest that, with strong technical analysis and market dynamics, Bitcoin could potentially reach $84,000 within six weeks.

What do you mean by "the peak for Bitcoin"? The peak Bitcoin price for 2024 or the all time peak price of Bitcoin, which will never be reached again? If you are talking about the yearly peak price of Bitcoin, I really don't know if 84K USD is the goal. The BTC price might be above 84K by the end of 2024 or 84K might not be reached in 2024. I expect the market to calm down during the summer, so there's no reason for me to believe in such short term bullish predictions. It's more likely that the price will go back to 60-65K USD, rather than going up to 75-80K USD.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: Today at 06:47:57 AM
I guess that my concerns before the match were true(even though even I wasn't expecting this to happen).
Italian teams should never be underestimated and it was about damn time for the "51 games without a loss" record by Leverkusen to be broken.
Atalanta started the game in the best way possible, with two early goals, so they switched to a more defensive play with sharp counter attacks.
Bayer was not really concentrated in the first 30 minutes of the match, and they got punished. The German team had control over the ball, but their attacks weren't as dangerous as Atalanta's attacks. Congratulations to the Italian team.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If this is doable what will you add or remove? on: Today at 06:04:59 AM
Let's all pretend to be a developer for today, and I have a question for you all.

If you are to add 1 thing to Bitcoin what will it be? And also if you are to remove just one thing from Bitcoin what will it be?

Remove: Runes and Ordinals. This is the most obvious answer ever. Grin
Add: To be honest, I really don't know. Maybe adding something to the Bitcoin blockchain would make it congested again, just like with the Runes and Ordinals. Bitcoin is just fine the way it is and adding new features on the blockchain will ruin the experience and make the transaction fees higher. Adding more privacy features in the BTC blockchain and making BTC look more like a privacy coin could be a step in the wrong direction. The governments will become really hostile towards BTC and a mass ban might occur in the future.
I would just follow the saying "If it works, don't touch it."  Grin
4  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Im looking for passive ways to earn yield daily weekly ? on: May 22, 2024, 11:26:45 AM
Daily /weekly ?
What Are the risks and rewards what about NEXO it's safe enough to stake or earn yields there ?
any good places for usdt and usdc to earn what are the roi daily weekly ?
In otherwords Im looking ways to put my money on work.

Who the hell is going to pay you 5-10% daily or weekly interest rate for your investment?
5-10% daily/weekly is an absurdly high yearly interest rate. If somebody promises me 5-10% (or even 2-3%) daily or weekly interest rate,
I would be 99,99% sure that he is a scammer. If you want yearly interest rate, you could stake some altcoin like Solana or use Freebitco.in and leave some coins there for 4% per year. However, I do not recommend any crypto lending/staking services and this isn't a financial advice. Do your own research and invest your money at your own risk.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Luxury items stock will be good way to go on: May 22, 2024, 10:46:33 AM
I think Luxury items brands cucci Ferrari or some yacht companies Luxury resorts and hotels.
and even in recression those things always on high demand and when we look at geopolitical situation all over the world by all those issues at the end more and more wealth will go to hands who will consume luxury goods.
It's like bank robbery lol...let them rob bank and i'll get some % asweell without doing anything because the money end destination will be luxury brands:)
More poverty might mean that a lot money for few and it's good for luxury brands life is short off course they want taste touch and feel all the finest things in the world.

I agree that the number of millionaires and billionaires around the world is steadily growing(it will grow even if there's a global recession), so the rich people would always want to buy luxury items. However, I don't think that this growth will be huge and the stock prices of the companies producing luxury items won't be facing a major bull run. The best niches for stock investing are AI/microchip industry, green energy companies, electric vehicles and maybe the weapon industry. The luxury markets will stay stable, but they won't be facing major growth anytime soon.
I don't get your reference about bank robbery. Do you really think that all the rich people became rich by stealing money and scamming the people? Maybe your entire forum thread was just trolling. Grin
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lunatic gamblers who says Airdrop rewards are free funds. on: May 22, 2024, 07:24:10 AM
There is absolutely no Source of income that is free but some of my Bitcoin investors friends who are as much gamblers would not want to agree to that.
Currently, there had been several airdrops projects ongoing which participants are earning crypto coins without investing of money but executing some tasks.

So some of my friends says such funds are free money so they are delighted dedicating it to be spent on gambling and when they lost it all, it would be easier to let go because they did not stress to get the money.
Meanwhile... This usually comes a huge amount of money beyond their normal gambling budgets.

To me, they can utilize these so called free money by adding it up to their Bitcoin portfolio or even used it to spend on necessary things instead of dedicating to lavish it on gambling.

I don't understand the point of this forum thread.
Are you complaining about airdrops or you are complaining about your gambler friends spending airdropped coins on gambling?
Bitcoin back in 2009-2010 would also probably been viewed as some sort of "free money". You never know which airdrop project would become successful and which one would end up being scam/worthless. Most of those crypto projects end up in the trash.
When you get something for free, you just don't cherish it and you are more willing to waste it away. This is pretty normal mentality.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin backed loans on: May 22, 2024, 06:25:16 AM
Hey guys. I don't want to sell my btc, but I need some money for my family vacation. I looked around several DeFi platforms where I can lock wrapped BTC and get stablecoins, also looked to companies like SALT and Unchained. I don't like 2 things: high interest rate and liquidations. Anyone took BTC backed loans? What is your experience?

Bitcoin has a volatile price and it's not suitable for a collateral, even though some lenders might accept it as a collateral.
I've never tried borrowing crypto because I don't need loans. I'm pretty OK financially and I hate being in debt.
Nobody is going to give you low interest rates, when it comes to borrowing/lending cryptocurrencies. The risk is higher, so the interest rates are higher as well. I remember some BTC lending platforms from 5 years ago(Like BTCJam, if I remember the name correctly), but all of them disappeared. I assume that the crypto lending business model isn't sustainable in the long run.
Why don't you try to get fiat loan or a credit card?
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Disregard false religious teachings and invest for the future. on: May 21, 2024, 11:33:52 AM
Quote
I've overheard some false spiritual prophets mislead their audience, saying that Cryptocurrency is demonic and it's the money  created through the government to mislead people to hell and that according to the holybook a general currency would be created and used by those who have the mark of the beast bla bla bla, all these are just blind informations used to mislead people I believe there were people in the stone age or time when cowries were used who would never believe fiat money would be used in the future and would be very shocked right now if they were present, so why are people still shocked and confused as the money system is now evolving to digital currency which is Cryptocurrency, which has many assets for investment especially Bitcoin.

Which religion are you talking about? Christianity, Judaism or Islam? I don't know about Islam, but Judaism doesn't have a negative perception of money and wealth. I can assume that you are talking about Christianity, since you are referring to parts of the Holy Bible.
Early Christianity has a very negative view on money and wealth. The early Christians had to sell all their possessions and property, give the money to the poor and live a life in poverty. Not a lot of people would be willing to do such thing in the modern world.
Anyway, calling Bitcoin/crypto "demonic" is plain stupid. If Bitcoin is demonic then all the types of financial assets and currencies around the world are demonic as well.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is boxing the worst sport to bet on? on: May 21, 2024, 06:45:05 AM
Recently I read that a year ago the Olympic committee cut its ties with the International boxing federation due to corruption and unfair referee placement. It has been a year since and the boxing federation has still to fix these issues. Now boxing is threatened to be completely left off schedule from the Olympics for the first time in the history of modern Olympics!

It really makes you think, if the international body of boxing is so corrupt, can you imagine the corruption that would be going on individually promoted events and closed leagues as the liked of UFC? Makes me think that fighting promotions and especially boxing should be avoided if you want to make bets.

You can read a relevant article about the Olympic news here: https://www.kompas.id/baca/english/2024/04/04/en-tinju-terancam-didepak-dari-olimpiade

Corruption exists in every popular sport. Do you think that there's no corruption in football? If there's big money to be made, there will always be corruption. The bookies would never stop accepting bets for a certain sport, even if there are serious allegations against that particular sports federation or certain clubs and players. I totally do not care about the Olympics anymore. It doesn't matter if boxing is going to be removed from the Olympics. The Olympics are also filled with corruption and doping scandals. Almost every sport has been turned into a dirty business.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why use decentralized bitcoin in a centralized way? on: May 21, 2024, 05:56:50 AM
The people are using centralized crypto exchanges mostly because it's convenient. Actually the crypto day traders are the main customers of crypto exchanges. If you aren't a day trader, there's no point to use such service. I don't care about altcoins, so I haven't used a crypto exchange in the last 2 or 3 years.
If you have small amounts of BTC, just setup Electrum wallet on your PC. If you have big amounts of BTC, just buy Trezor or Ledger.
Nobody is forcing you to use centralized services, but buying BTC from a centralized crypto company is a little bit more convenient than dealing with strangers on the P2P crypto markets.

I don't think I'll put Pep and Klopp on the same level. No disrespect to Klopp though, he's a good manager, one of the best, but I believe Pep is ahead of him. Pep has won 6 premier league titles out of 7. It would have been 7 out of 7 if Klopp didn't win one.

Both Pep and Klopp are great managers, but you forget the "money" factor. Man City has more money and they could afford to pay for more high quality players on the transfer market. Man City always had really strong substitute players and I can't say the same thing about Liverpool. There was always a problem in Liverpool, when some of the important players got injured and was missing.
Maybe Pep Guardiola will be remembered as the best football manager of the 21st century(alongside Carlo Ancelotti). Jurgen Klopp achieved a lot in Liverpool and he will be remembered as the best Liverpool manager since 1990.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Idea of btc is genius the limited supply that's why i think it's safe heaven on: May 20, 2024, 11:29:49 AM
Limited supply so over the time there will be less coins so the idea of this are genius.
Even If the btc price will be 500k than many holders might sell some of the coins but always will buy when lower price and will hold some bitcoins.
No matter how high the price we weight btc value just with fiat currencies but it's deflationary against many other things like also to gold and If something is less then other things then off course it will have higher value.
The limited supply idea of something it's genius and good for long term holding to have something wich keep wealth safe.
Off course we can say that there is a lot of things less than other things weighted against them to compare their value but for example only btc now have the guaranteed mechanism of limited Supply and Halving.
So the btc are for those who want to be rich and stay rich.

Yes, having a limited supply is important for the whole concept of Bitcoin, but the scarcity/limited supply doesn't determine the price.
Demand is what determines the price. You could create an altcoin with even more limited supply than BTC, and the price of that altcoin would be close to zero. Zero demand means a zero price. Low demand means low price. Supply doesn't play such a big role here.
The demand for BTC is driven by the trust in Bitcoin and by the expectations of a higher future price.
There's nothing genius or ground breaking about the concept of limited supply. Some companies have limited supply of stocks, therefore their stock prices are kept at a high level. Satoshi Nakamoto didn't invent the wheel or fire. Grin
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jose Mourinho Next Job (Season 2024/2025) on: May 20, 2024, 06:31:04 AM

As a Mourinho believer, I still think he deserves to coach in the Premier League, preferably Newcastle. What do you think?

Chelsea was the only English team, where Mourinho was successful as a manager, and that happened many years ago(2005-2007 and 2015).
Mourinho failed as a manager in Manchester United and Tottenham, why would he succeed in Newcastle? Chelsea barely recovered after Mourinho's second period as a manager there. I think that it's over for Mourinho and he shouldn't lead a big club anymore.
I think that it would be a big mistake for any English team, if Mourinho gets hired. Maybe Saudi Arabia and Turkey are the best places for him.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (BTC Reputation Upgrades) Can This Be Done With Bitcoin Without Using Alcoins? on: May 20, 2024, 05:58:51 AM
Quote
* Starting Point = Bitcoin and the community has earned a horrible mainstream reputation with an endless flow of scandals, alleged hacks, and other major thefts.
* Many early Bitcoin users were idealists who wanted to actually help "the masses" have sound money.
* What if (for example) people could safely pool money (BTC) in a way that massively helps improve our reputation?
* Do you think (at least some) some of the super-rich, old-time idealists (and many other people) would be interested?

How did you come up with the conclusion, that Bitcoin has a horrible mainstream reputation? Did you conduct a survey/poll among the people or something? I think that Bitcoin has a somewhat neutral mainstream reputation. The people, who know a thing or two about BTC know the pros and cons, the advantages and disadvantages. Usually the people, who know nothing about Bitcoin call it a scam.
Do you really think that Super Bowl Ads could improve Bitcoin's reputation? This sounds like a dumb idea to me.
There are idealists and there are people, who simply want to make money. I think that the second group of people is way bigger than the first group.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is "Sell in May" really a good idea (in the case of Bitcoin)? on: May 19, 2024, 11:23:17 AM
There's no problem with selling BTC in May at 65K USD, since you have bought at 20-25K USD in May 2023(I don't even remember the BTC price back in May 2023). You could even HODL and don't sell in May. Even if the price does down in the summer, it will most likely go back up in the autumn or during the winter. I also agree with the theory that the Bitcoin market becomes a little bit boring and stagnant during the summer, but I don't see this as a major problem. A big price crash could happen in every season, it doesn't matter if it's summer or winter.
Timing the market is a mission impossible for more than 95% of the traders, so there's no point of overthinking and overanalyzing the seasonal  patterns of the Bitcoin price.
16  Economy / Economics / Re: The End of Credit/Debit Cards on: May 19, 2024, 10:44:04 AM
Have you ever wondered what the future of credit/debit cards will be once CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies) go public? People will no longer need to use a plastic card to pay for goods and/or services, as everything will be done through a mobile (or desktop) app. This means people will directly interact with the central bank for deposits and/or withdrawals. No need for middlemen like Visa or Mastercard. At least, that's what I think it will happen.

Do you think credit/debit cards will still be a thing after the launch of CBDCs? If not, why? Will payment processors like PayPal, Visa, and Mastercard survive? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

I can assume that several decades ago, there were people, who thought that plastic cards are the future and cash will become obsolete.
Well, that didn't happen. Maybe the adoption of CBDCs will lead to the same thing. Paper money, plastic cards and CBDCs will exist at the same time and the people will use them without any problem. I think that CBDCs will be used mostly between the central banks and commercial banks, before they get imposed as a means of payment to the entire population.
Your question applies to companies like Paypal as well. The people have plastic cards, why do they keep using Paypal? I guess that Paypal gives them another level of security and convenience for their online purchases.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake curse strikes again, rapper loses on Fury, Usyk bet on: May 19, 2024, 06:38:52 AM
"Drake curse"? Probably Kendrick Lamar cursed Drake in his last diss track. Grin Drake isn't the best sports bettor in the world, but he can afford to lose half a million. Wasn't the "Fury vs.Usyk" boxing match fixed? Maybe Fury just lost to Usyk in order to support Ukraine. Grin I'm joking, but I'm sure that many people will believe in this conspiracy theory. For some reason Fury refused to look Usyk in the eyes in the day before the match.

Just the previous day I was talking about Drake curse and other celebrities who lose in gambling. And here we are again with another drake's matter. Drake is a terrible gambler and he has to come to admit that that is what he is and he should just take a break from gambling for some time, get some coaching on it and return and try his hands while gambling again. I know he's a celebrity and these are monies that he can afford to lose because he has more than enough. Yet I am worried for his fans who has not as wealthy as he is and who he has a huge influence over.

The world is full of dumb people, who are getting influenced by other dumb people. There's no cure for human stupidity.
Drake isn't just a terrible gambler. He seems like a terrible person in general. Or maybe the excessive amount of money, women and fame had changed his personality.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you think is the right Name to use? on: May 19, 2024, 06:01:04 AM
Holla gentle men,

Before now, I have joined others to use the word "Bitcoiner" I checked and it is a dictionary word which best describe someone that invest, uses or have a professional knowledge of Bitcoin.

suffix is used to give a word a different meaning, adding the suffix "er" To Bitcoin gives a different meaning which sound cool. If you also add the suffix "ist" To Bitcoin, you will get another cool sounds but I can't see the word on dictionary.

My question is, between Bitcoin-er and Bitcoin-ist, which one sound better?

Another question is, what can we call the study of Bitcoin?  Huh

I'm not very fluent in English and I'm definitely not an expert when it comes to grammar, vocabulary and meanings of certain words.
I'm seen many people using the word "Bitcoiner" but so far I have never seen anyone in the crypto world using the term "Bitcoinist".
I understand that the term "Bitcoiner" is being used as a short form of the terms "Bitcoin enthusiast" or "Bitcoin supporter", but this seems kinda cringe to me. Bitcoin is just a currency/financial asset and I don't know why we should attach certain words to the investors/supporters of BTC. The people who invest in gold aren't called "Golders" or "Goldists". Why would the Bitcoin investors be called -ers or -ists?
I like the term "Bitcoin bro" or "Crypto bro", even though I don't use it. Grin
19  Economy / Gambling / Re: I would like to place a $1,000,000 bet on: May 17, 2024, 10:22:05 AM
I would like to place a $1,000,000 bet on an upcoming football (soccer) match. The match is in Sweden (Superettan) tomorrow and the odds I am looking to bet are 1.88. So I will win $880,000.

Where can I place this bet? Don’t say Stake because they already banned me.

I will assume that OP really has 1 million USD and he's willing to make a bet. Grin Because why not? Random millionaires are making posts on Bitcointalk.org asking where to bet their millions. This is completely normal. Grin
OP, you say that you will win 880K USD, but what if you lose 1 million? Are you 100% sure that your bet is going to win? Is the match fixed?
Stake banning a user, who is willing to make large bets? Seems like the opposite of what every normal online casino would do. Maybe OP can't prove the origin of those funds and maybe they are laundered money that were gathered via criminal activities. Who knows? Grin
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: May 17, 2024, 07:04:30 AM
Leverkusen winning the Europa League would be a glorious ending for the best season in Leverkusen's history.
However, the record of 49 games without a loss might come to an end in the most inappropriate time.
Atalanta was really weak against Juventus, but the Italian teams should never be underestimated.
To be honest, the Europa League final seems totally unpredictable and I cannot decide which team is going to win.
I would like to see a 120 minute game with many goals and a penalty shootout at the end.
