221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers👉Group Stage👉1/8 on: July 01, 2024, 06:56:05 AM
Watching England's performance against Slovakia was a pain in the a*s. I don't get why England's players are so slow and cowardly.
Bellingham saved them in the last minute and this goal broke the Slovakian team. It would be nice if the Slovakian player had punished Pickford's mistake and scored a second goal. I'm sure that England would have surrendered if the result was 0-2.
Spain-Georgia was pretty much expected to end 4-1. The only surprise was Georgia scoring the first goal, but Spain is definitely the better team. Spain-Germany is going to be a final before the final.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Milton Friedman predicts the inception of Bitcoin on: July 01, 2024, 05:59:04 AM
Maybe Satoshi got his inspiration from economists like Milton Friedman and Friedrich Hayek, but I definitely don't believe that Friedman had predicted the creation of digital currencies and Bitcoin in particular. Hayek also had an idea about "competing money", that are free from government monopoly and the most stable currencies become the most widely used by the power of a free market competition, not by the will of the government. However, this idea always seemed a bit unrealistic and utopian. It sounds good on theory, but is it going to work in reality?
Bitcoin and the altcoins seem to be a good example of this theory, but they aren't getting any big mainstream adoption as actual money for everyday use.

Well, i surfed the net to know his worth and discovered that he's worth about roughly $2.9m. You'll be wondering why a young and wealthy man of about 45 years, would decide to take his own life even after acquiring such wealth, i know many would think he's selfish he didn't consider his family, this and that but that's not the topic of the day, what I think is that one could have billions and several other assets but still find it difficult to have peace of mind.

If money could guarantee someone peace of mind, then the man in person would've spent half of what he's acquired to find peace but what we was going through was beyond his wealth, and he's a prove that one can have all the billions and still not get peace or happiness. I might be wrong though but what's your opinion?

The guy, who committed suicide was depressed and depression has nothing to do with wealth and social status. Even the wealthiest and most powerful people in the world can fall into depression. This is a serious psychic condition that should be treated seriously.
Nobody says that money "guarantees happiness", but money is extremely important for a healthy and comfortable lifestyle.
One person can be poor and happy, while another person can be rich and miserable. Happiness and fulfillment are a state of mind.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Was it a Gut's feeling a Mathematical calculation or a Coincident? on: June 30, 2024, 06:47:42 AM
I'm sure that thousands or even millions of gamblers and lottery players have a gut feeling that they are going to win, but eventually they lose. This guy is an exception, but I don't think that he is a fortune teller or something. He got lucky and his gut feeling was a coincidence.
I'm 100% sure that he won't win the jackpot, if he buys another scratch ticket while having a gut feeling. Grin
What if he's lying about "having a gut feeling"? Maybe he is a consistent scratch ticket buyer and he finally bought the winning scratch ticket.
I trust nobody when it comes to gambling and lottery games. Grin

1. Regulatory changes or bans in various countries.
2. Competition from other cryptocurrency or alternative technologies.
3. Security threats or 51% attacks on the network.
4. Loss of public interest or confidence.

1.A Bitcoin ban in certain countries cannot destroy the blockchain. It can only affect the BTC price.
2.The competition from altcoins cannot destroy the BTC blockchain. It can only affect the Bitcoin price.
3.Thie 51% attack been discussed way too many times on the forum. There's no need to repeat the same arguments over and over again.
4.Again, this affects the price, not the blockchain.
In summary, the Bitcoin blockchain will keep existing, even if the price drops to levels that were seen 10 years ago. Mining difficulty will be adjusted and mining will always be profitable in the long term(but it depends of the mining equipment).

This is the sportsbook that was offering a 0.5 BTC jackpot last season

And sponsored a Halving giveaway. But completely stopped other giveaways, even for players who lost a lot to them, like myself.

A book that offers -110 on MLB money lines, and starts offering prices 12 hours after Betonline etc. These are prices from 2005 Pinnacle lol

I would have major questions if I bet more than $10/game. Stay away...

So you are accusing a casino of turning into a potential scam just because they stopped their giveaways?
I don't understand the point of your previous statement. So you have lost a lot of money on Nitrogen.eu. Do you think that you are entitled to get money from the casino for free? You statement looks as if you are begging them for more giveaways. Something like "I've wasted a lot of money on your casino, please give them back to me via giveaways" or "I've spent a lot of money on your casino, please give me more giveaways so I could feed my gambling addiction and spend even more money on your casino". This sounds hilarious to me.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bank teller stole $28,000 from customers to feed her gambling addiction on: June 28, 2024, 06:08:38 AM
It's true that many hardcore gambling addicts are stealing money and scamming other people in order to feed their addiction. It's not just the gambling addicts, many drug addicts are doing this as well. This is a problem, which cannot be solved. The people with addictions will keep committing crimes.
It's ridiculous how her lawyer is using her gambling addiction as an excuse in the court. Being addicted doesn't take away the blame.
I guess that this woman was pretty stupid, since she got caught. Working as a bank teller and stealing money from bank accounts is so dumb.

228  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Silver undervalued? on: June 27, 2024, 11:20:30 AM
Rising geopolitical conflicts (wars) are having a positive effect over precious metals' prices. Particularly, Gold. However, things aren't looking too bright for Silver. The gray metal has been struggling to reach higher prices, staying within the $25 - $30 valuation of an ounce. Many experts predicted Silver would reach $50 an ounce, but that's far from becoming a reality anytime soon. Comparing Silver and Gold market performance, I'd say the latter has achieved substantial gains within such a short amount of time.

I'm beginning to think that Silver is extremely-undervalued. Do you concur? If not, why? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

There's a bigger global supply of silver and the utility of silver(the ability to be used as a raw material in different industries) is lower, compared to other precious metals. That's why silver is a relatively cheap precious metal and I don't think that silver is undervalued. The current price of silver is the fair price. However, the money printer in the US Federal Reserve is still working and I expect the prices of all precious metals to keep going up(mostly because the US dollar will keep losing value, not because the precious metals are increasing their value).
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers👉Group Stage on: June 27, 2024, 07:37:17 AM
The only interesting match from the 1/8 finals would probably be France-Belgium. I watched Belgium-Ukraine and I'm not impressed at all by the Belgian team. Why they didn't put some effort and win against Ukraine, so that they could get a better opponent in the elimination stage?
In all the other matches, the favorites would most likely win against the outsiders. Georgia won against Portugal 2-0 but this is probably because Portugal had already won their group. Anyway, the Euro 2024 is getting more and more boring to me. Maybe the teams will start playing for real in the next stage.
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your strategies of spreading bitcoin given to you to yield more. on: June 27, 2024, 07:08:15 AM
At this present economic inflation in some countries and you are given three (3 btc) bitcoin to be spend within period of three (3) months for other investment that will give you return of income that worth values of three bitcoin that has been given to you to spend within three months time...my question is that as a cryptocurrency investor and bitcoin investors what investment can you join differently that will give you more than the value of bitcoin given to you? Both in your country and any other countries you maybe?

If you love bitcoin don't ignore this thread.

Dude, are you using Google Translate or something?
I don't give investment advice or financial advice. There were thousands of forum threads about "If you had X amount of money, where would you invest them?" Just search for an old forum thread and don't spam the forum with low quality posts.
If you are looking for an investment opportunity with a ridiculously high ROI two things will happen:
1.You might get scammed, because the investment projects offering absurd ROI are scams.
2.You might lose your money, because higher ROI also means higher risk.
231  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taxation theft? on: June 26, 2024, 10:17:07 AM
Most public goods cannot be funded in an alternative way than taxes.
I'm talking about public goods like national security(your country having and army and intelligence), law enforcement(police and court system), etc. Infrastructure projects like roads and streets can be partially funded with a Toll system and/or vignettes, but that's more like an exception to the rule. The educational system and the healthcare system can be privatized, but most countries stay away from such right wing policies.
Everyone hates when the government is taking money from them, but what would your country look like, if there aren't any roads and highways and there's no army, police and courts, no schools and hospitals? It would look like total chaos.
232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers👉Group Stage on: June 26, 2024, 06:44:01 AM
I'm I wrong or France didn't have a central striker against Poland(until Giroud appeared as a substitute)? Deschamps is a coward.
I wasn't impressed by France against Poland. The French team will be in great trouble, if they face a stronger opponent at the eliminations stage. The penalty for Poland was also a little bit weird to me. This is the last Euro for Lewandowski and he will be remembered with one penalty goal, which is sad.
England-Slovenia and Denmark-Serbia were so brutally boring to watch. I didn't watch Austria-Netherlands, but based on the result, this probably was the most exciting game on the Euro 2024 so far.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For me, Bitcoin is just a financial Game. on: June 26, 2024, 06:04:09 AM
Firstly, despite Bitcoin's distinctiveness and its own complexity compared to other financial forms like fiat currency, gold, etc., its essence remains "money."
Secondly, the price volatility of Bitcoin is highly enticing; it constantly alters our psychology, which is why I refer to Bitcoin as a financial game.

Be mindful: if it's a game, there are rules to follow, risks involved, and winners and losers. Before you engage, research investment strategies, media influence, key influencers, benefits, risks, etc. Take charge of the game; don't let it control you.

Everything in life is a game(or maybe life is a game). You have to follow the rules, have a strategy/plan in place, constantly improve your skills, find partners, use different tips and tricks, etc. Trading on the financial markets is no different than any other activity.
I don't think that Bitcoin's price volatility "alters our psychology". You just get used to it after a while. When I was a crypto noob, I was always obsessed with the BTC price and I freaked out when there was a big price drop. Things are different now and I don't care that much about the price volatility of Bitcoin.
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is investing in cryptocurrency a risky game? 🚨 on: June 25, 2024, 12:05:02 PM

But it got me thinking, is investing in cryptocurrency really a risky game?

I mean, a lot of people are into it and we've all heard the horror stories about scams and hacks, but we've also seen the potential for huge gains.

So, is it worth the risk?

Have any of you had experiences that have made you more cautious or more confident in investing in crypto?  Please share I'd love to know

Your question seems pointless to me.
If investing in crypto wasn't worth the risk, then nobody around the world would be investing in crypto and the cryptocurrency prices would be close to zero.
Obviously, investing in crypto is worth the risk, but what exactly do you mean by "investing in crypto"? Do you mean altcoin day trading or buying BTC and HODLing them in your cold wallet for 5 years? There's a big difference. Some people think that crypto day trading is "investing", which far away from the truth.
So far I never had any horrible experiences with Bitcoin. I've never got hacked or scammed with a big amount of BTC(only one time I got scammed with 100 USD). Dealing with BTC and crypto in general isn't that risky, if you know what you are doing.
235  Economy / Economics / Re: Can BRICS topple US' economic power? on: June 25, 2024, 11:13:51 AM
Quote
They've announced their intentions of launching a digital currency of their own, in a bid to challenge the US' hegemony over the global economy.

Why the rumors about BRICS launching a digital currency keep popping out of nowhere? This is old fake news and it isn't backed by any facts.
The BRICS members will dump the US dollar and replace it with their national currencies, when trading between each other. There's nothing about "a BRICS digital or fiat currency". I've heard rumors about the creation of a BRICS payment infrastructure, which is going to be based on the usage of national currencies.  The name of the platform is supposed to be "M-bridge" or something. I don't remember it correctly.
The members of BRCIS will keep developing their economic and financial relations. The US economic power will be "toppled" by the enormous US national debt and the lesser usage of the US dollar as a global currency.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand to Legalize Gambling To combat Illegal gambling or.... on: June 25, 2024, 06:31:31 AM
Quote
I believe it is not to combat the illegal gambling but rather to take advantage of the gambling activities to get more taxes to fund the country's treasury.

A real battle against illegal gambling would be the police arresting all owners of illegal casinos and putting them in jail.
The problem is that such battle probably won't provide satisfying results in terms of money, that is confiscated by the government.
I guess that the government of Thailand had chosen a more liberal approach, that will bring better results in terms of tax revenue.
We should also know that many illegal casino owners are contributing to the corruption in the country, by paying bribes to the police, court system and the politicians. Legalizing gambling would mean that the level of corruption would be lowered(but corruption cannot be stopped completely).
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be a good investment over stocks in a recession period ? on: June 25, 2024, 05:50:20 AM
Can Bitcoin be a good investment over stocks in a recession period ? Also, explain why do you feel so ?

It depends of how long do you plan to HODL the Bitcoins.
If a recession starts and the cryptocurrency prices drop, will you panic sell or will you HODL? If you panic sell, then no, Bitcoin isn't a good investment for you. If you HODL, the markets will recover and Bitcoin will start another bull run, so your investment will pay off.
I don't know why do you have to compare Bitcoin to stocks in general. Some stocks are way better than others. NVIDIA stocks are great, as long as the demand for NVIDIA micro-chips is growing. Tesla stocks were overpriced and they will most likely keep dropping in value.
238  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do traders lose money in trading? on: June 24, 2024, 11:18:30 AM
Quote
1/ Lack of Discipline— a) Not sticking to one strategy, b) not respecting your trading rules, c) not sticking to your plan.

2/ Lack of knowledge—Inadequate understanding of the market, trading strategy, financial instruments, and fundamentals can lead to poor decision-making.

3/ Not having a mechanical trading system—This leads to emotional trading. Decisions driven by emotions like fear and greed rather than rational analysis result in significant losses.

4/ Overtrading—Taking many trades will affect your decision-making ability and lead to poor decisions.

What do you mean by "mechanical trading system"? Do you mean a trading bot? I can imagine how the financial markets would look like if all the traders were using automated trading bots. Grin
There's no way everyone on the market to make a profit and nobody to lose money. Somebody has to make poor decisions and somebody has to fail at timing the market. All the things you mentioned in your list are true, but so what? There will never be a situation on the market, where all traders are perfectly disciplined, perfectly competent and have a perfect strategy.
I don't consider overtrading to be a bad thing. The day traders are gaining experience by trading more, even if some of the trades aren't profitable.
239  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the only aim of devaluation, to help stimulate a countries economy? on: June 24, 2024, 10:26:15 AM
Quote
*could the acceptance of cryptocurrency help stimulate a countries economy besides devaluation?

*What other ways can a country stimulate her economy without devaluing its currency?

1.No. Cryptocurrencies are legal(which means that they are accepted) in most countries around the world. Does this stimulate their economies? There was no result whatsoever. I don't think that this had any impact over their economies.

2.Lowering taxes, removing dumb regulations and bureaucracy. Creating a better business environment. Those are the right wing policies.
The left wing policies are mostly about the government investing heavily in infrastructure, education and healthcare.

Devaluing the local currency is "the last resort" of any country's monetary policy(when all the other measures to stimulate the economy don't work).
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Soldiers using gambling to cope with stress. on: June 24, 2024, 06:33:24 AM
First, I don't understand the people, who are soldiers(their life is at risk) and they spend their time....gambling. I just don't get it. They could die or get injured at any moment. Can't they spend their time in a more productive way. There are productive and healthy methods to deal with stress, like meditation and reading books, for example. Does spending money in an online casino actually relieve stress? I don't think so.
Second, the soldiers are having many bad habits to cope with stress. What about those soldiers, who get addicted to drugs and alcohol?
Isn't that a problem as well? Nobody is talking about the war veterans and their addictions.
