1  Bitcoin / Armory / importing casascius coin private key on: February 18, 2019, 05:50:15 AM
Is Armory still a good wallet for importing casascious coin private keys?

Is there a recent writeup for the proper procedure to do this?

...Anyone can join our discord and also participate in our voting...
Yeah, no. It's routinely private invite only and the links routinely don't work; e.g.:

What had happened to safecoin's discord?

In some ridiculous attempt to keep someone who had no intention in coming back after he was banned from coming back, it was closed to everyone that wasn't already there.

At some point, one would assume that maybe you'd start typing only facts (instead of random things you made up or heard) in your delusionally motivated hypocrisy to vainly attempt to make me look bad.

You or anyone else can join Discord right now if you want. It has always been that way except for a very short period of time when we were getting quite a bit of spam posts.

https://discord.gg/Uq3DY
(We have 675 members and growing.)

This is going to be the last time I respond to your posts. I urge the rest of the community to do the same.

Make that 674 as your leader just banned  MarkHanna.   Why is it, when your discord community is so strong, that you quickly ban anyone with a dissenting voice?   One person brings up concerns that your coin is forked,  and boom  he is out of there.  Your community need protection from 1 person saying something that could scare away your miners?  That's not a sign of strength.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SAFE][POW] Safecoin - Komodo Fork - zCash Privacy on: April 15, 2018, 05:13:35 PM
What's wrong with the new wallet ? It's up to date (latest block) and yet still using all of my bandwith all the time for apparently no reason. Both safecoind.exe and safewallet.exe are downloading non stop.

I think one problem is the Safecoin devs didn't code the wallet, and are not fully aware of how it works.
It's a shame they don't fully understand the interest mechanism, and ignored concerns about problems with their implementation of the wallet.  Enjoy working though your fork.

I would stick with a coin that pays interest.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][unSAFE] Safecoin - Komodo Fork - zCash Privacy non-Secured by Bitcoin on: March 25, 2018, 07:25:44 PM
The equivalent hashpower of over 128,000 1080 ti's (700 Sol/s each) were pointed at the SafeCoin network during the attack. The overall network speed was driven from 300 KSol/s to 90 MSol/s.

One notary pubkey CPU mining your unSafe chain was all that happened.   Your dev didn't even bother to look at the dPOW code, and obviously doesn't have the first clue about it.

You can try it on the original SafeCoin chain     ./safecoind -daemon -gen -pubkey={KMDGENESISNOTARYPUBKEY}

For several days now, Dev has not commented on this page any more, and should respond to the accusations and doubts that other users are raising, in particular jl777B and BTC-BTC-BTC.

now administrators and menedgers are very active in giving you answers in telegramm.
there you can always communicate with someone and in a short time have  a answer on your questions
Where do you answer faster? Telegram is the best way to ask?

Assuming you don't ask them about dPOW or when they will address their fraudulent statements.  If you ask those questions you will be attacked and then kicked off telegram.  They don't have room for any dissent in their scam channel.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN][unSAFE] Safecoin - halfKomodo Fork - zCash Privacy Not Secured by Bitcoin on: March 25, 2018, 06:18:03 PM
...while the dev works on recovering from the attack jl777B did on the chain.
It wasn't an "attack", the chain had a mechanism to mine it and that mechanism was utilized. It's, literally, that simple. Calling it an "attack" is, as I pointed out earlier, the same as saying that a miner with 40 1080TIs is "attacking" the network because you only have an RX 480.  Undecided

You guys keep making the same argument. "If the code allowed us to do something then it is perfectly acceptable". This might be the ethical standard you CHOOSE to live by but I will hold JL777 and the KMD team to a higher standard, as should your community, investors, and the entire cryptocurrency community.

You know as well as I do that this involved MUCH more than simply pointing "40 1080ti's" at the network. It was an organized, calculated attack intended to do harm to Safecoin. There are good people all over the cryptocurrency industry working very hard to show the entire world that this is an honest and safe community. The lack of integrity, character, and professionalism displayed by the people involved in this act is unacceptable.

And the fraud listed at the top of every message is somehow acceptable?

[ANN][SAFE][dPOW] Safecoin  - Komodo Fork - zCash Privacy Secured by Bitcoin <------  Fraud !!!
your coin is not Secured by anything other than minimal mining.     If you are honest, answer when your coin will be secured?

How many months from now?

Every message in this thread perpetuates this inept fallacy.  I fixed that for you with this message.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: March 24, 2018, 03:40:50 PM
I notice your sign didn't say: "Please steal out money"
I think that "mining coins" != "steal money", if previous version of SAFE allowed GPU miners and notaries mining with low diff - it can be mined both ways. And if somebody found a way how to mine it easier - this is not a reason to blame him.

When the KMD dev sees a flaw in our code and chooses to exploit it, it's a problem. Do you think we intended for Komodo genesis notaries to be able to mine free coins? Was that our mistake, hell yes it was and it was a damn bad one because it turns out the KMD devs are not to be trusted.

All coins go through a development phase where certain features are not yet activated. This coin is less than 6 weeks old. Are we expected to have a perfect code base and all infrastructure developed from day one? An ethical dev would have notified us of the problem, not hatched a scheme to stealth mine as many coins as possible just in case they're worth something one day. Now when caught he continues to blame us and call us the scammers when the only verified scammers in this idiocy are him and his merry band of cohorts. Pondsea was really quite excited by the prospects, it's a sight to behold. This is really indefensible behavior. Greed is a hell of a drug.

YOU DON'T GET IT.   It isn't a flaw or bug in the code.  It is fundamental for dPOW, notaries secure the chains. SafeCoin copied komodo code, as is, without comprehension nor consultation, and invited people to mine it.   SafeCoin DEV claimed SAFE is dPOW, just like Komodo.  If you put a coin out for real use, and keep a massive premine, and expect people to attach value to it because it is like Komodo, when it isn't anything of the sort, that is unethical and reeks of scam.

It is not ethical to announce your coin as being protected by BTC when it isn't.  That is fraud.

The evidence of this is plain to see in the coins thread title :

Re: [ANN][SAFE][dPOW] Safecoin - Komodo Fork - zCash Privacy Secured by Bitcoin

Until this blatant lie is removed or fixed by dPOWing to BTC,  SafeCoin dev is lying to and cheating the SAFE community and is reflecting badly on komodo causing harm to both.  You are pissed off at the wrong people.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SAFE][dPOW] Safecoin - Komodo Fork - zCash Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: March 23, 2018, 07:12:53 PM
So what now? Project dead? Huh

Too early to tell, but doesn't look very good when Safe dev team don't understand details of Komodo notaries and their purpose for delayed PoW. It's like you guys are attempting to clone a Tesla car but don't understand the whole technology requires batteries to work, and when Elon pointed this out and offered to help you spat the dummy, at Elon!

You guys need to drop the 'we were attacked' alternative facts Trump routine and concentrate on explaining how Safe works without notaries, what adjustments have you made to compensate?
Comparison with the Tesla is not appropriate. If you are not allowed to understand the essence of things - do not judge everyone by your standard.
Komodo developers so much afraid of open competition that decided to make a circus? Penny they cost. Laughs best who laughs last.
Let's talk about it a year later?

What do you want the comparison to be with? This forked coin devs doesn't even understand how Komodo works. I wonder if they have any dev knowledge, let alone crypto.
Komodo code is open source, open for all who can read and understand. Look like the SAFE devs are not capable of understanding the code at all, they even brag about improved code.
Laugh all your day. That will be very beneficial only for you. You will get some amusement from that. In other words, your time wasted.
Try to do something meaningful with your life, something that can benefit you and if possible others.

A blind blind guide. This is fork, and you showed the inconsistency of your own code.
Your statements are unsubstantiated. It looks like a fart in a puddle. Show me where it is claimed that the original Komodo soursce code is improved?
On the contrary, if you understood the essence of the project then you would know that the development team combines all the best and do not reinvent the wheel where there is already a good solution.
Because of these actions, the Komodo project will lose much more in the future.
Do not worry about me, better watch your actions. And yes - try  to do things in a meaningful way with your life, something that can benefit you and if possible others, rather than engage in measuring the length of the penis.
Do not bother to answer me - I do not need ill-mannered arrogant interlocutors.

How about letting your own community know if you are doing dPOW or not?  If you are how will it be funded?  SafeCoin seems to want to have it both ways.  You need funds (which komodo investors supplied in the ICO) to dPOW to BTC blockchain.  Your ANN has it listed right there [dPOW].   Your coin has nothing running of the sort.  We are calling you out.

When dPOW  SafeCoin?   Without this part of the code running you are half baked.

We will be making a notarization based VOTE2018 bounty for NN candidates, it is after all what being a NN is all about.
Idea with testnet for NN seems very good, it allows candidates confirm their skills and learn something new about NN work, dPOW and other things. But idea with bounty for NN, if i'm understood it correctly (VOTE2018 bounty for notarizations counts in testnet, right?) - seems not so good. For example, my server declared in proposal is ready, but it will be transferred to DC in first days of April. So, now to take part pursuit for the bounty i'll need to deploy test NN in VM insfrastructure at home.

2SHossainKMD: Thx for your guides for NN testnet, i hope it will help candidates to learn the basics. Good work!

While the timing for your server is unfortunate.  I encourage you to demonstrate your proficiency with a VM,  there are participants in the testnet already notarizing beer and pizza coin.  Connection to the testnet can be slow (one node has 500 ping).  You will be at a disadvantage if you can not claim to have notarized already.  Good luck, and I hope to see your node soon.

Being a notary you have one job: to notarize.  It is essential to be proficient before joining the NN operators on the mainnet.
We have great need for dedicated and proficient operators.  Our network is being carried by only a handful of our current lot of 62 nodes, you can see evidence of this in two places:  slack's notary-nodes alarms channel (which is perpetually full of 20+ nodes failing at their job) and an assetchain notarizations counts spreadsheet which has recent sampling of notarizations showing alarming lack of participation of many nodes in what should be their ONE JOB.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1x7oNlZXyRDahesnsD1qWsaqC1LlVmEuXNIVDOVfEiHU/edit?usp=sharing

Please forgive us for incentivising our candidate future operators to prove themselves at doing precisely what we expect them to do before we actually elect them.  I believe it to be a much better method of evaluation than pretty proposals and noble promises.

Good luck to all of the candidates!! Smiley

The testnet is up for testing out your servers.  If you are running and have a server that isn't already in the mainnet please join the testnet to demonstrate your proficiency.  I will be casting a good percentage of my VOTE2018 to the top 10 Notary candidates of the testnet in terms of notarization counts.  I have asked other fellow notaries to join me in this bounty / reward to go to those candidates who prove themselves and their servers to be top notch and worthy of running our network.  Good luck to all of our testnet notaries!

Komodo is at its rallying point right now . It ups around 30% and it is really a good indication. Somehow I can't verify my total stake due to the unavailability of blockchain explorer.

Try one of the two alternatives.

regarding the statement  "All 30 notaries still get ~1500 KMD" :

This is false,  notary mining is dependent on several things.  If the operator is inattentive the node will go down and you will get 0 KMD for how ever long the node is down.  I check on network health at least weekly,  often there are nodes that are offline.
You will do better backing a dedicated operator who is focused on maximizing uptime, and server located at a reliable FAST connection.

But in a perfect world with perfect NN operators, you are right, pick the node with the least amount of votes and get a bigger slice of the pie.

the '~' symbol means approximately bro, obviously if an operator falls asleep for a week and his node dies he'll earn less, but the system jl777 designed means every notary should earn "approx 1500 KMD" per month from here on, otherwise they wont get voted in a second time. Notary vigilance is definitely important at the margins, but it's not enough to give any one notary a significant advantage. I'm assuming the potential rewards from here on will mean the vast majority of nodes will have similar specs and be managed pretty well, and the pools will punish operators who run unreliable nodes. Too much money on the table now!

Some interesting game theory ahead, best strategy will be to spread votes around to even out the payouts.

I will flesh out your ~   with some actual numbers.

You can check out node mining with a CLI command that provides number of blocks the 64 nodes have mined out of the last 2000 mined.  I do this a lot.
Over November and December I logged the mining figures 25 times:

KMD / mth         blocks/ ave month     blocks/ 2000 blocks
899.8199951   299.9399984            14.04166667            min
1829.010969   609.6703231            28.54166667           max
1536.719663   512.2                    23.98046875           ave
1574.017469   524.7                    24.5625                   median
195.99           65.33                      3.06                   stddev

You would want to back a NN operator like the one that runs node 41.
I have checked hundreds of times, it is how I check to see if my node is running well.
Node 41 has only been below average 3x that I saw ever, and only 1 time with komodo down.  Mining is only one part of this job, and not really as important to NN operators as you may think.  KMD mining is nice to log, but notarization stats are paramount.  You have one job as an operator: notarization.  If you pick the right operator, they will be the one to focus on that.

Let's not discuss the min node, however you may back one of the minimum nodes if you assume we all average 1500.
Also vigilance will keep an operator's node out of elections, period,  I would call that a critical advantage.  I am vigilant, trust me you want vigilant.

Is the election first past the post, or preferential?

All 30 notaries still get ~1500 KMD per month, and obviously the best payout will be for notary 30. who divides his profit only for 0.5% of KMD, whereas position 1. shares his profit with a much bigger VOTER base of 6.50%.

It isn't preferential.  You get 1 VOTE per 1 KMD that you control the keys to, you send these VOTE tokens to one notary candidate address in each region.
