1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia P106-090 6GB cards low hashrate on: March 07, 2020, 07:11:26 AM
I said the same thing to you in r/GPU mining... didn't want to listen.

not sure if this is the same thing, but nonetheless, I find it strange that not many people are complaining about these cards, a quick google search doesn't return much, this is why I am hoping that there is a solution to this issue out there.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia P106-090 6GB cards low hashrate on: March 06, 2020, 05:27:19 PM
This post may offer more clues to the decreasing hashrate...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5029601.0

Oh damn! what a waste of money, I always do my research, but this one was really tricky! is there any workaround to this issue? what causes the hashrate drop? I want to understand the technical cause behind this since it really doesn't make sense to me.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Nvidia P106-090 6GB cards low hashrate on: March 06, 2020, 03:55:58 PM
I just grabbed a few of these cards thinking I was getting a good deal on them, the seller did mention 22Mhs on Ethash in his listing, I did a quick research about the cards and I came across  this video of Bits be Trippin it clearly showed 22Mhs with great efficiency (the cards have a 75W TDP) and they run very cool.

After 2 days of playing around:

- I can't get the cards to hash at more than 14Mhs on Ethereum/Ethereum classic, I can, however, get 21MHs on expanse (lower epoch, smaller dag)
- I tried Linux and windows, with the same results, I tried drivers from 384 to 440
- On the site of Manli links to the drivers seem to be dead so not sure if I need these drivers specifically
- I came across this post mentioning the dag size issue so this is where it clicked for me
- These cards are 6GB cards, so they definitely still have enough room for the dag file at least for a couple more years.

My issue is that these cards are pretty much useless at everything except ethash, they have half of the computing units that of a normal GTX1060 6GB or a P106-100 cards (5 instead of 10), it seems like they were designed specifically for Ethash mining, I am hoping one of you out there have answers to how to resolve this.

Edit: At this point I know it is the DAG file size, I am trying to understand why is this happening when the card still has plenty of memory left? my hope is that someone has already figured out a solution since I can't find many people complaining about this card.

I argued the mere fact that Beam is not a shitcoin after someone mentioned that it was. Happy speculation, I will probably check in after another 3 years.

No one will use company/foundation/corporation/country/whatever owned coins. Specially with alternatives they have.

Data show otherwise, Beam average number of transactions daily is much more than Monero and definitely more than Zcash and Grin combined and it is growing daily, again I am not trying to convince you anything, just get your facts straight.

Someone asked me how come an OG like me is into altcoins, the truth is that I joined this space for 2 things: interesting tech and making profits, and after 7 years I am still looking at all kinds of tech and trying to make a living off it at the same time, so all I can say to you guys is don't be stuck in that echo chamber of maximalism, be a minimalist on maximalism because it is becoming a cult.

Ask yourself what is the goal behind your involvement in this space, then be agnostic about it.

Sad to see another legendary account sold/stolen and turned into a shitcoin shill. Angry

Nah I am legit:

I have called every bottom and top since 2012

I sold most around $9K bought back with some of my stash around $4500

Muahaha just for your info, $9k was not the top and $4.5k was not the bottom   Grin Grin Grin

I will probably check in after another 3 years

Please check in... never

I didn't phrase that accurately it was not the exact top and bottom, it is not like everyone catches the exact bottom and top, Buying back around $200 gave me 45X gains and I also bought Ethereum at around $0.85, I made a killing there as well.

Sorry if you understood me the wrong way, I am not trying to sell you anything, I did mention how I am diversifying my portfolio this time and why.

wow, this forum has gone downhill! no mods nowadays or what?

You are a fucking diptwat.

Last I heard from you was that you sold all your coins in the $600s in the 2014 time frame, and you were living happily ever after because bitcoin was going to go to zero (for sure).. and you knew it and you were smarter than the rest of us... blah blah blah.  You said a bunch of other dumbshit too, including that you weren't going to be coming back, except to tell us how dumb we were and to rub bitcoin in our face, yet for some strange reason bitocin is far exceeding 16x from the prices that you sold...

I can't imagine that you are actually smart about something, and I imagine you are coming back to tell us how wonderful your life is because you cashed out dollars - even though you could have been at least 16x more prosperous if you had hung onto your bitcoins.  Anyhow, whatever supposed smartness that you have is merely in your imaginary fantasy thinking rather than based on reality.

TLDR:  So what the fuck would you know about either bitcoin or this forum?

Go ahead point me to where I said that? I have called every bottom and top since 2012, and I have been working full time on Crypto related projects as a developer since 2014.

while you are still wasting your life arguing your nonsense on this thread...some people never change.

Oh... so you come back to tell us how smart you were including that posting on this thread is "wasting life?", and how you made a lot of money, too?

Perhaps your braggadocios presentation is part of the issue?

Exactly as I remember you, there has been no value from reading your posts and there is still no value... the dogs bark but the caravan moves on.

you are going into my ignore goodbye.

The Linux version is not working, it starts but it never hash or submits shares.

Edit: the performance on the windows version is worst than the previous one (GTX 1060 cards)

I have been trying to mine with my CPU on testnet for hours now (4 threads, not sure how fast it is though).... can someone please send me some testnet XMR to this address: A1nkzGGcssBcp48BsPLJmYeALs8CLXRNDNRYXZoDxa3PBucB4e8xVG5aJ7TNoEbtnNPP7xx6errUDZD uuqyTHXJaGycR2h6

thanks.

Are you sure that address is correct.  It is my understanding that testnet addresses start with a 9  Wink

also the hr on testnet is low so you should have no problem mining some rather quickly.

Well, this is the address I got on testnet, otherwise, it seems that I had a few hours of bad luck, then blocks started coming in.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: July 13, 2017, 10:15:56 AM
is there any public useful Monero testnet out there? I am trying to add Monero to a service I am developing and I can't find any useful links to any testnet, faucet, explorer... it is making my job really hard, I don't want to play with actual XMRs and risk doing something stupid.

the closest thing I found to a testnet requires me deploying a private chain and mining.

Here's a testnet blockchain explorer: https://testnet.xmrchain.com/
It's quite fast to download the testnet blockchain since it's small (~2GB).
It's also super easy to get the testnet coins by just solo mining because the hashrate is so low (250H/s).

so is this a public testnet? or should I be connecting to a special set of nodes for this?

Edit: OK I got it working, will try mining some coins to test. thank you.

Since my name and picture got on this without any approval and I didn't even know about this (someone pointed me), I have to clarify that I have no direct connection with this, I do work for 21mil which is going to do the blockchain for this, I personally do not know anything else about this project.

Even the info about me are not correct, I've never contributed directly to Copay, I am a DevOps engineer to be accurate and nothing else.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v1.1 on: November 06, 2016, 01:59:45 PM
@Claymore your miner is having a real strange behavior, I was experiencing a huge amount of duplicate shares, so we started some debugging to investigate what is happening, and I see this happening on all miners:
....

The Rig is running your v1.0

any idea why is this happening ?

v1.0 has problems with nonce after devfee mining until new main job is received. In v1.0 every hour after devfee mining nonce was reset to zero and miner checked same nonce range again until new job is received. So it could lose about 1-2% of shares. Fixed in v1.1, see history.txt or OP:

- fixed issue with rejected shares after devfee mining.

Thanks, Upgrading now.

@Claymore your miner is having a real strange behavior, I was experiencing a huge amount of duplicate shares, so we started some debugging to investigate what is happening, and I see this happening on all miners:

A valid share submitted from this Rig

Code:
2016/11/06 13:31:26 Valid share at height 5604 1.6139/191283.8180 from "Miners_X" [000000000000000000000000000000c5, ec0f0000000000000000000000000000, 0050041c]

Then the same Rig submits the same share again:

Code:
2016/11/06 13:34:01 Duplicate at height 5604 from "Miners_X" [000000000000000000000000000000c5, ec0f0000000000000000000000000000, 0050041c]

Code:
nonce, params[3], params[4][3:11]

The Rig is running your v1.0

any idea why is this happening ?
