I was wondering if any of the admins for Monero are here frequently?  I have some suggestions for future implementation that will allow Monero to gain market domininance.

I heard that there is an effort to make the Monero GUI also contain a private vpn so that the person who logs in cannot be tracked by ip in much the same way Monero transaction provide you with anonymity.  I am assuming, and I am no coding guy, that this would mean that communication over the monero network would then be private and secure.  IF this is the case, then I suggest the implementation of private encrypted chat over the Monero GUI which could lead to a Monero GUI-based social network that would allow monero users to communicate directly over the secured GUI.

Future capability would include the implementation of a Monero market directly in GUI to facilitate selling and buying of products around the world and completeley circumvent the traditional DNM market structure.  Monero would then be creating its own market and helping to aid in capitalization by taking its growth into it's own hands!

This implementation would allow Monero to overtake other currencies by leaps and bounds and help with user increases as the Monero GUI would become the goto for completely anonymous purchases, communications, and security.

Imagine a Monero Android or Apple app that had these capabilities.  This would inevitably have people using exchanging and normalizing monero transactions locally between a huge growing number of users.

Are there any admins here to hear me out?

is there any public useful Monero testnet out there? I am trying to add Monero to a service I am developing and I can't find any useful links to any testnet, faucet, explorer... it is making my job really hard, I don't want to play with actual XMRs and risk doing something stupid.

the closest thing I found to a testnet requires me deploying a private chain and mining.

Here's a testnet blockchain explorer: https://testnet.xmrchain.com/
It's quite fast to download the testnet blockchain since it's small (~2GB).
It's also super easy to get the testnet coins by just solo mining because the hashrate is so low (250H/s).
I will test.
Thank you

wallet was syncing but i saw fatal errors in, not sure what happened. stack exchanges just end. Would like to resolve and sign up or Monero Mining at https://www.genesis-mining.com/a/992654    Discount Code n15cJU

I'm afraid I just have to wait until wallet is sync before I use an address out of wallet for payout. Please advise. I'm not sure what to do with all the log stuff??? Pretty powerful wallet, it drains my CPU!

How do I start this thing manually?
Was no access to slack???

I successfully submitted a signed transaction/key images online which subsequently updated the balance of the corresponding GUI view-only wallet. However, on CLI wallet (using a separate CLI node/database), the same view-only wallet is still showing the original balance before the transaction. I suppose the signed transaction/key images needs to be applied to my CLI setup as well. How do I do that so it also reflects the correct/updated balance? Otherwise, I'd be happy to double-spend the same amount/transaction on the CLI set up. Grin

Your best bet is to join #monero-dev channel on IRC server freenode and ask there. Here is a clearnet link. Just use "monero-dev" and enter your nick for the channel.

Is this a bug then? After successfully submitting/broadcasting a signed transaction/keyImages in GUI which consequently adjusted the GUI view-only wallet balance, why would such new updated balance not show up in CLI for the same view-only wallet (as if the transaction never occurred) ?

Did you start a thread on it and get the hacked account neg trust? Or is this someone impersonating elrippo just saying that his account is hacked?

I have been trying to mine with my CPU on testnet for hours now (4 threads, not sure how fast it is though).... can someone please send me some testnet XMR to this address: A1nkzGGcssBcp48BsPLJmYeALs8CLXRNDNRYXZoDxa3PBucB4e8xVG5aJ7TNoEbtnNPP7xx6errUDZD uuqyTHXJaGycR2h6

thanks.

Are you sure that address is correct.  It is my understanding that testnet addresses start with a 9  Wink

also the hr on testnet is low so you should have no problem mining some rather quickly.

Well, this is the address I got on testnet, otherwise, it seems that I had a few hours of bad luck, then blocks started coming in.
