This is another important season for PSG to reach the CL title. They have build a wonderful trio on the front with Neymar, Messi and Mbappe but still they haven't been able to win this title. It was related to Pochettino's vision as well I presume and we will see what Galtier will change in this team for achieving it. Galtier is actually a far more inexperienced manager and some of us still have doubts about him. I also have that to be honest but I'm still trying not to be prejudiced.

It is rumoured that Chelsea have started to be in talks with Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong again. They are very insistent about finishing up this transfer these days. Because Manchester United can't sign him Chelsea want to benefit from the chance as they have a big possibility to sign him as long as they agree terms. Barcelona were even thinking of demanding a pay cut from him so maybe this can be another factor that can help him decide to leave the team to join Chelsea.
103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 03, 2022, 07:57:02 AM

It is very difficult for Bayern Munich to dominate the Champions League like they do in the Bundesliga. Because it is a way tougher tournament and some of their opponents for the title are even stronger than them now. Or we can say some of them know better about how to eliminate bigger teams. Bayern Munich will need to adapt to the Champions League very well and figure out how they can win the title more often. Real Madrid have done this and we can call them as the dominator now actually.

I think that is why they are pinning Lewandowski from leaving the team, it is because they are readying to compete for the Championship League, but because of Robert Lewandowski leaving their future in winning for the Championship League just crumbles apart, and right now they are just now aiming the Bundesliga Championship again, I am very excited if Bayern Munich will still prevail on the Bundesliga or not, if they still dominate the Bundesliga without Lewandowski on the team, then they are really a monster for a team and they got their hands a good player for now, but if they do not make an impact in this season, then Lewandowski truly is a unique player to behold,

They are already a monster for me with or without Lewandowski in the Bundesliga.  Grin  Because their discipline and strategies don't change even though they lose an important player and this keeps the team still strong. The rest of the teams in the league also will need to improve their performances otherwise they wouldn't keep up with Bayern Munich as always. Teams like Dortmund, Leipzig and Leverkusen for example are the closest teams that might catch up with Bayern Munich but they need to step up.

It seems that not only Chelsea but also Manchester United are after Jamie Vardy now. Vardy has only one year left to go on his contract now and he is 35 years old as well. But he is still performing very well without caring about his age. I understand Chelsea but I don't know why Manchester United are interested also. Because they don't need another striker as long as they keep Martial in the team. However Chelsea are in need of a striker after Lukaku has joined Inter and Werner is likely to go also.

This season might be a really crucial season for Mbappe. I mean that PSG need to find a way to win the Champions League somehow. Otherwise maybe Mbappe would even think of leaving and joining Real Madrid this time even though he is making crazy money here now. It is just a prediction of course and I can't fully trust it though. Because his salary is too much that it would be hard for Mbappe to give up on that as long as Real Madrid don't offer a close amount to that.
Real madrid cannot be interested in Mbappe again, have you forgotten how hurt Madrid were when it looked so certain Mbappe was coming to their club, but at the last moment he changed his mind because of a few phone calls from prominent people and what psg offered him in terms of salary and other benefit.

Real madrid president openly criticized Mbappe saying he only remained in psg because of the money they gave to him, Mbappe is going to stay in psg, he can't leave with that kind of wages, no team will ever want to pay him that, only if he can agree to cut his pay down, but i am sure that he will stay, it doesn't matter if psg deliver the champions league or not, it is more about business and money now.

It might not be easy for Real Madrid to do so indeed. I mean that if they offer at least the same amount to him then he would surely leave PSG right away. But I doubt that Real Madrid would do that for now. It was really unacceptable for Real Madrid to see that happening by the way. He was almost joining them but he chose money. It isn't a very nice attitude to refuse your dream team like this. If your dream team is really Real Madrid then you should just go for it when you have the chance.

~snip~

It is surprising to see no one is voting for Chelsea, while there is 5 for Man United, 3 Arsenal, 2 Totenham and 1 for Newcastle.
Although I'm a fan of Man United but I'm not going to vote for them now as I havent seen significant progress under Ten Haag.
Seems that most people vote the team because they are fan of the team, not because the team has great chance to win due to some factors.

I agree with you about that. Chelsea shouldn't be underestimated for this season even though they are still likely to lose some of their players. We shouldn't forget that there is still a long time for the transfer window to be closed as well. I don't have big doubts about Chelsea to stay in top four for now.

By the way I see that Fulham have added Bernd Leno to the team. This is one of the great transfers for them right after promoting to the PL.

I think that Juventus need a left winger now as they don't have very good alternatives currently. They have Pjaca and Ake who is injured until October. They need to make a good addition to the team because of this situation. They are likely to add Frankfurt player Filip Kostic actually. West Ham have an interest in him at the same time but if they go for him both I think his choice would be Juventus. Kostic would easily become a starting eleven player there as long as he performs well.

Roma are a candidate to be one of the serious contenders for top four this season. It is hard to make a choice between them and Napoli for that now. But Roma are getting one step ahead with their transfer moves recently. It is important to start the season nicely and we will see which side will do it better. Aside from that consistency is the key factor. Roma were out of the top four race very early last season. They will need to improve their consistency level this time.

Roma are very close to finishing the signing of Andrea Belotti now. I wonder if Mourinho is thinking of a game plan that there are two forwards in. Because with this transfer they are going to have five forwards in the team. Maybe they can play with 3-5-2 formation. Belotti will be a really good addition btw. He is a very capable striker and can help the team become more effective in scoring goals. They are aiming high this season so this is one of the good moves for that.

No matter what Ferrari does, it can't get what it wants. They think they didn't make a strategic mistake. Leclerc was quite fast on the medium compound. This may be true, but even though they knew the importance of tire selection, they would have lost the race by choosing a hard tire, and it was. Ferrari is doing its best for Max Verstappen to win the title. After the wrong tire selection, the deficiencies in the vehicle performance were also noticeable. If we look at the result, Max Verstappen is at the top with 80 points.

Ferrari are just doing everything they can do make Verstappen champion one more time. I really didn't have any idea why they chose hard tyres and Leclerc shared the same thought as well. Isn't there really any proper strategist in the whole team? They had better make some changes in the team or these mistakes would continue and Leclerc's championship chance would decrease. I don't expect Leclerc to catch up with Verstappen at this point btw. It is just too hard.

But even so, Bayern Munich's achievements so far have only dominated the local competition. If Bayern Munich can also dominate the Champions League then it will be great, at least if Bayern Munich can be a consistent team in the Champions League also it proves their achievements are very strong. But so far, Bayern Munich has failed to compete stronger in the Champions League which means, the rival team in the Bundesliga is certainly a team that has no ambition to break Bayern Munich's dominance. because basically Bayern Munich itself has weaknesses that can be beaten by rival teams in the Bundesliga but unfortunately, competing teams in the Bundesliga are difficult to be consistent throughout the season and that makes it difficult for them to take over the Bundesliga title from Bayern Munich.

It is very difficult for Bayern Munich to dominate the Champions League like they do in the Bundesliga. Because it is a way tougher tournament and some of their opponents for the title are even stronger than them now. Or we can say some of them know better about how to eliminate bigger teams. The Community Shield match gave us an opportunity to observe the biggest favourites of this season. They both seemed quite solid also but Manchester City were just the unlucky side. Liverpool did a big job there by a 3-1 victory and it was good to see Nunez scoring already. Many people including me expected the same from Haaland too and he was nearly doing it in the last minutes. But anyway this is still not a problem for him and he already showed how much he was determined in this match.

Actually I don't see anything that can be linked between Pogba's absence and Juventus' defeat because AFAIK Pogba only made a difference when they met Guadalajara and they without Pogba had succeeded in holding Barcelona before so when they lost to Madrid I don't see any logical reason to be associated with it. Pogba.

Their formation against Madrid is a little different, usually their tactics put forward midfielders to explore further but when they meet Madrid they don't do that because their 3 midfielders have been locked by 3 Madrid midfielders so their strategy doesn't work.
When this happens I still feel they have to make a more suitable formation with 4 or even 5 midfielders like they did before.

I don't know what would happen if Pogba was able to play in this match and I don't care about it much too actually. Because it was just a friendly and the more important thing now is that the league is beginning in two weeks. Being deprived of him after the season starts would affect Juventus negatively surely. Because we have seen this for a long time when it comes to their midfield. Adding Pogba to the team was going to be like a medicine for it but he has got an unfortunate injury now.

Barcelona just want to be as competitive as possible in this season. Xavi has made significant transfers for doing this without looking at how much money they have spent so far. The team didn't want to prevent him from making any of these transfers even though they weren't good financially. After that poor run until Xavi came to the team, Barcelona need to make up for that season this time. I expect them to compete with Real Madrid at the same level in the standings unlike the last season.

Chelsea might be able to convince Barcelona to sign Frenkie de Jong but the deal would cost too much that's for sure. Frenkie de Jong doesn't have a special desire to leave the team at the moment so Chelsea will need to make an offer that can't be rejected by either the team or the player. About Bernardo Silva, Manchester City didn't even want to sell him to Barcelona a short time ago. They wouldn't even like to sell him to Chelsea now as they are in the same league and rival teams.

After seeing Neymar like that I'm now confident about his happiness at PSG. He played a big role in the 4-0 win against Nantes. Messi also started well by scoring a nice goal thanks to Neymar's beautiful pass. PSG seemed ready even though they didn't have Mbappe in this match. Nantes found some chances too but Donnarumma made really great saves. He was criticized by some people last season but this is a really good start for him now.

Marseille are going for Arsenal's unwanted left-back Nuno Tavares and Alexis Sanchez who is playing for Inter now. I don't think that they would have any problem with transferring Tavares but I'm not sure about Alexis. Because he actually played in so many matches in the Serie A last season. On the other hand Marseille still have a nice opportunity actually as Inter have signed Romelu Lukaku. Inter can be more eager to sell Alexis because of that.

Now the new rumours say that Manchester City might be likely to give up on the Cucurella transfer until next season. They can go for Alex Grimaldo or Borna Sosa instead. I don't know why they are backing up from signing Cucurella now. They don't have any money related problem and Cucurella is a much better player than the other candidates. I would expect them to go for him until finishing the deal.
