101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hacked Account - getting back? on: March 05, 2018, 01:13:23 PM
Post a signed message with the bitcoin address listed in that account's description, this will help the admins confirm that it's actually your account.

Yes this can be a good idea to confirm that you are the original owner of that account.

Else I think it's quite impossible for you to gain access back. Maybe you used the same credentials in multiple websites and you got phished somewhere on the internet..take care out there!

103  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Know more about Airdrop on: March 05, 2018, 12:55:50 PM
An airdrop is a free distribution of tokens of cryptocurrencies. Many of it have conditions of participation like doing social media campaigns such as retweet, follow and shares, join telegram channel and with minimum bitcointalk rank can be requested. Instructions are usually indicated in the registration form.

There are 2 types of airdrop:
1. By registration:
- Just register on the site that offers airdrop and validate or confirm your email address. Tokens will be available on your created account where you can later send to your wallet or to an exchange.

2. Distribution on wallet:
This time the toke will be sent to your wallet directly.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN AIRDROP?
To participate, you basically need the following:

1. A wallet like MyEtherWallet which will allow you to receive ERC20 tokens or Ethereum based tokens.
2. Of course, bitcointalk account
3. Telegram account
4. An active Facebook and Twitter account.

There you go! Once your tokens received, just wait for the listing of that token in an exchange to be able to trade them or hodl it.
Don't forget to check and do research of the airdrop you are participating if it's legit or scam.
Only your public wallet address should be provided during the registration.

Nice post, however more kinds of airdrop actually exists. In example #BitcoinEvo $XBTE airdrop is a coin-based (and not token based) cryptocurrency airdrop, you can check it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3038677.0
In example in this kind of airdrop you have to download official $XBTE wallet and then fill the airdrop form with all the informations requested and you receive the coins directly in your wallet while the network is up and running already!

You can claim XBTE also if you do not own Bitcoin already Wink

That's nice! Thank you for the information! Smiley

You are welcome, happy to help Wink

105  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BEST WALLET?? on: March 04, 2018, 06:58:36 PM
My advice is to use a wallet like Electrum (https://electrum.org) and save the seed in a safe place.
106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Types of wallets. Which one's the best? on: March 04, 2018, 06:50:01 PM
There are two main different kind of wallets. Core wallets and SPV wallet.
Core wallets (of every coin, not only for bitcoin) are the "original" client which hold the complete blockchain in its full size, this means that if you want i.e. use BitcoinQt wallet you will need to download and synch the whole existing blockchain before you can effectively send and receive transactions.
SPV wallets downloads only a small portion of the blockchain, the newest part of its blocks, connecting to "trusted" servers which provides the headers for the recent past blocks so that SPV wallet doesn't have to download the whole blockchain in order to get synced.

SPV wallets also includes hardware external wallets such Trezor and similar.

So basically if you are not an high end skilled user it's preferable that you use SPV wallets. Just remember to use all the precautions to avoid losses of you BTC, such strong passwords, safe storage, don't download untrusted software in your pc and much more.

Free coins? why not?  Cool Cool Grin Grin

Anyway I like the idea of xPoS and PoS in general, good way to bypass miners monopoly and fair distribution with airdrop. This sound nice, total coins amount is fine for me, hope this will last long!

It looks like "give us a month to hide your money"  vacation.

Well, they did announce before and let people withdraw their funds. It is very odd, yes but they gave everyone to withdraw their belongings.

C-cex exchange in on the scene since so many years now, Yuri is a honest and serious dev so please newbies calm down.
As stated in his post the "vacation limited time" will end on 20th of January.

Keep calm.

120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: An 8MB Block Found on the Bitcoin Cash on: December 14, 2017, 12:01:49 PM
Increasing block will only give temporary breath space for BTC network and feed the miners.
But in exchange it will bring much faster blockchain bloat to the network.  This will lead to much worse consequences much sooner when only a handful of services will be capable of hosting full node. That's not good.

Blocksize is not a solution.
True, this is not a way of solving the problem, just a workaround. However I think this could be a good way to expand the capacity of each block txs carrier and so to have the network less congested.
Anyway developers have to find a proper way to scale txs capacity without having to worry about the same problem few time later.
