So I got an aorus 3060ti
running on simple mining
core = 10
memory = 1800
watts = 130
it gives me 58mh
any clocking suggestions for it?
Been running two MSIs at 100 core, 2200 mem and 115 watts getting 60 on smos. But I just added an ASUS 3060 ti and it is getting rejects at these settings. |

But for some reason you just can not imagine mining is can be profitable , but you need to understand what to sell when , what mining hardware to buy when ... I mined ETH from 2016 .. yes i sold some in the end of 2017 you can tell me i did not make any profit ... i know exactly what i made with mining , even with just a few GPU's in 2016 ... I wish i got into this when the same thing happened with bitcoin .. i started my bitcoin mining adventure when BTC was around 300$ ... Im still a believer ... and history repeating itself ... sold some coin again when ETH was over 600$ not to long ago ... Choice is always yours , but i dont like , and i dont think its right, when someone without any real mining experience trying to be way to smart and attacking someone with real mining experience ... the real question is how much eth could you have bought over the months when eth was $100 to - $150 instead of running your asics and rigs ? $8000 could have bought 800 eth lets say 700 x 600 thats $420k lol and im not even factoring in shipping. All hes trying to tell you is u think u make money making what $15k but just buying eth at the lows would have crushed what u made buying those asics x20 asics and gpus are a hobby thing now , the time and effort setting up monitoring shipping etc isn’t worth the reward like back in 2016 lol, math skills, 80 eth not 800. |

I'm always amused at if you bough x coin instead of mining arguments. GPU mining vs investing/trading are not comparable, its like trying to compare bonds to stocks. The risk is not the same, one generates income while on generates capital appreciation. GPUs act as a hedge for your mining income, mining becomes unprofitable turn them off and sell the gpu's. If you have been smart and bought decent gpus at msrp your loss will be small. I also hedge my mining income, if prices are high I sell a weeks worth of mining revenue, if prices continue falling I sell more and more until the market reverses. This way i collect the intrest on my short position and the risk being close to zero since I generate the funds to cover any advance in price.

If you can get a 3060 ti at mrsp then no contest. I have 60 RX 5700s and they can be a challenge to keep running without crashing. My NVIDIA rigs run and almost never crash they can run for months at a time and the only thing to take them down is a power outage. Resale value will also be higher for NVIDIA cards.

Nice to have a NVIDIA card more efficient then a 5700 and I bet a lot more stable.  |

I'm running a 3070 in SMOS, 58.5 MH/s at 120 watts. We will see how stable it is.

nvm nanominer , lolminer does 81 mh/s with 6800
Do you know the power usage? This might be very promising, might be better then a 3080 watts per hash. |

I've been mining since late 2016 with 145 gpus and the problem I see now is eth going POS. Once eth goes pos their will so much free mining power nothing will be profitable, if theirs not another large coin to replace it. I have 50 1070s I'd love to replace with 3080s but I'm not sure if its worth it. Good thing is if you buy decent gpus they will retain a good amount of value.
you can get 125 to 150 for 1070s sell five or six and buy a 3080. I think I will. Tempting to buy 5700s, but I hesitant from a resale perspective. I think 5700s will loose a higher percentage of value 1-2 years from now. I did buy an open box Power Color 5700 XT for $322 from microcenter yesterday. One of my least favorite 5700s I can't seem push them very hard when bios moded, right now its running 51.50 but at 99 watts, reading from SMOS. |

Every asus rog of any year i have owned has been good. I have had problems with asus dual gpus. I have the ASUS TUF. |

Picked up an ASUS 3080 at the Columbus Microcenter and its running well 94.81 mhs at 230 watts in SMOS. I have two weeks to return it if it starts losing hash. I've had bad luck with ASUS in the past.

Just got a notice from the IRS, I owe them $1.9 million dollars, lol. Coinbase assholes sent them a 1099-k saying I had 3.7 million in payment transactions. I wish it was 10% of that, talked to my accountant and we will send them docs to correct.
I felt that way last summer 2019 about my 2018 return. finally got it fixed. and I did my 2019 return last mont on an extension should around 3700 refund. yet to see my check. I guess the letter is a computer generated letter and our response should clear it up. My account said the IRS is a mess right now, I had to send in my 2019 tax payments 3 times and they never cashed the checks and keep sending letters then they cashed all 3 checks at once and sent a letter saying they owe me a refund, lol. What I do now is keep everything on Binance or in a wallet and send it once a month to cash out. Have as few transaction as possible. |

After eth 2.0 we better hope theirs a decent high market cap coin to mine that is unprofitable with the AMD rx 400 and rx 500 series cards. Theirs so much power mining eth right now all that power would crush the profitability of other coins. For example ETC is 1.35% of total ehash mining.

My EVGA 3080 mines at 97-99 all day long no problem and it looks like it has mixed caps.

I'm glad i didn't buy a bunch of 3080s, looks very promising, might be more efficient then an Eth ASIC.

@Philip, if you could pick and choose, which GPUs to buy right now, which ones would it be? I probably have free electricity for about 6 more months and after that would have to sell the cards. Right now, most of my rigs are 4GB cards, so thinking about selling those and the I have two options:
-upgrade to new gen cards - RTX 3080 for example
-upgrade to polaris 8GB for cheap
The first option would be more expensive, but the resale price would be better
The second option would give me a higher hashrate with less capital invested.
I am actually leaning towards the second option - or just holding on to the 4GGB cards and mining whatever is most profitable. But would love your opinion.
what cost are the nvidia. 700 to 800 usd get some. and keep some of what you have. try to sell some of what you have. if you can get 3080’s at proper prices 700 to 800 usd. sell one to me.😀 ie pretend you have 100 4gb cards. try to sell 50 of them cheaply and replace with 3080 cards. This is what I'm doing, replacing 1070s with 3080s when I can find them. If things be come unprofitable the 3080s should retain their value. Also nice having less cards. |

I would RMA its not worth the $700. I just got an evga and its 91-101 no problems.
