101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 40594 funded addresses. 2,013,649 txs. 5 block explorers on: December 28, 2017, 05:35:51 PM
Rav3nPL is helping us with the optimization of his P2Pool-Code. But he needs miners on his node to check, what is going on.

So, if you can spare a miner, please point it to his P2Pool-node: http://91.235.254.37:9664/static/

See here, for more information: https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-rav/issues/105

Edit:
Here's how (example for cgminer):
cgminer --scrypt --queue 0 --expiry 1 --scan-time 1 -o stratum+tcp://91.235.254.37:9664 -u mooncoinaddress -p anything --RestOfCgminerOptions

Btw: no registration required on a P2Pool-node.

I am the receiver. This particular tx is from coinexchange to the 0.13.9 desktop client.
I got a bunch more of those txs and some poeple I know have the same issues. The strange this is that some of them were indeed confirming the past days.
All those txs are from coinexchange, to bluetrade or the desktop wallet.

What I find strange is, that these transactions don't show up in the "unconfirmed"-lists, like here: https://bchain.info/MOON/
Although they can be seen in the wallets mempools when using "getrawmempool".

You could try P2Pool with your miner, to help with the stuck transactions: http://5.45.105.66:9664/static/

News from the page:
"27.12.2017: Daemon restarted with option "-blockprioritysize=51000", as recommended by the Mooncoin-dev, in order to include stuck tx's with very low fees"
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 40594 funded addresses. 2,013,649 txs. 5 block explorers on: December 26, 2017, 02:51:22 PM
Thank you coinflow!

For clarification:
What you post is the mempool! There are all unconfirmed transactions.. those are not all stucks! just waiting in the queue for miner/pool!
Every transaction we made, goes there and broadcasting to all nodes!

No, that's what I meant. There are now also new, not stucking tx's in the list, but these are the minority by far. I've checked that even directly after a block was mined, so the tx's with high enough fees were out of the list. The list remains long.

So, Vassilis, please check the code of the wallet and correct it. We need a wallet, that has no problems even with NO fee. We are not bitcoin with 200000 and more unconfirmed tx's waiting. Even a transaction completely without any fee should be possible at this time. OR: The code should prohibit ANY fee below the minimum strictly, so that an exchange could not send a transaction with lower than minimum at all.

Could you also check the code and tell us, what timeframe is set until the tx is removed from the mempool, hence the Mooncoins going back to sender, if any? Thanks.

Edit:
As far as I know, the 0.1 minimum fee was first introduced to the bitcoin-wallet originally, right? In order to prevent spam-transactions. I assume, because Litecoin is based on bitcoin and Mooncoin now bases on Litecoin, this minimum fee is in effect for Mooncoin, too ...? The first Mooncoin-wallet had no minimum-fee. In fact, most of the tx's were sent without a fee altogether.

Merry Christmas everyone!

etr_bit_talk: Be patient with the transaction.. if you see remain stuck inform your exchanger.

I'm waiting confirmation from pools but until know no one reply's(its Christmas!). Soon, will respond!

Also, from last night the network almost doubled in hash rate power!
The last 2 days is impossible for my APU to give share in any pool!
We are growing!!

On bleutrade you dont even have buyorders at 1 satoshi.

Check the sell-orders. Was a long time over 30, yesterday over 20. Today ~15 BTC. The wall is falling; slowly.  Smiley

I've checked the mempool via command "mooncoin-cli getrawmempool" and saw your tx in the mempool. So it is definitely already broadcast to the network, but just not confirmed yet.

You could try to open the console in your own wallet and enter that command getrawmempool to see the same result.

I don't understand!
tx eb3418a1881c612bc6b5a8852b65485e7ab4bca410e6f7640e6888931e8c7e57 isn't in block explorer! https://chainz.cryptoid.info/moon/search.dws?q=eb3418a1881c612bc6b5a8852b65485e7ab4bca410e6f7640e6888931e8c7e57
Only in your own wallet!

My tx bd20c88d09e69a2fbc90702d64f432994f76be8eb726cc40f150cdb215710ac1 still pending; while confirmation completed on CoinExchange platform. 82 hours pending!!! Is it joke???  How long?

Vassilis said, he's working on it - it is a problem with low fees and he's in contact with the mining pools.
The tx you mentioned is not only in your own wallet. It is also in the mempool (to be confirmed) of all nodes.

These are the currently waiting transactions in the mempool:

So as long as your tx is in this list, it is not lost, but "only" stuck, because of the problem with tx-fees, on which Vassilis is working.

MoonCoin wallet does not work properly!
My MoonCoin balance is still pending.

A few posts above Vassilis said, he's working on a solution. The problem has to do with small tx-fees and the exchanges.
@Vassilis: I have looked at several tx's in the blockchain now. All of them have a fee of 0.1 MOON. Why? I assume, this is a preset of the old wallet from barrysty1e that will be abandoned/obsolete after the hardfork? Because normally a fee is not necessary at all when the chain is not overcrowded.

Good afternoon ! Merry Christmas my friends ! I believe that Vassilis will solve any problem which is releated with fee or anything else.  Smiley

Good afternoon ! Merry Christmas! thank you for your interesting  Smiley

I've checked the mempool via command "mooncoin-cli getrawmempool" and saw your tx in the mempool. So it is definitely already broadcast to the network, but just not confirmed yet.

All transaction by CoinExchange.io
I have withdrawn 50 MoonCoin transaction again with the same Mooncoin Address: 2a5M88ksFsADbJy3SUt9SFPNb3sp4EH4fi successfully after some time but the previous transaction eb3418a1881c612bc6b5a8852b65485e7ab4bca410e6f7640e6888931e8c7e57 is still pindenig in my MoonCoin wallet.  Smiley
Do you mean the transaction will be confirmed in the near future?

Let's wait for what Vassilis has to say, after he looked into the code further, did his tests and communicated with the exchangers regarding the fee.

Meanwhile check the constantly growing volume and rising price: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/mooncoin/#charts. Click the button Zoom 3m or 1m (months) above the chart, to get a better idea.

For the buyers, again: Keep an eye on the prices, so you don't buy too expensive: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/mooncoin/#markets

There are still cheap coins (e.g. Novaexchange), but at least on bleutrade the BTC-market is now the cheapest. Seems, as if it is only a matter of hours, until MOON enters the Satoshi-market again. Let's see what happens. Smiley

Hi,

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Nope, the principle is always the same the transactions which "stuck" are under 0.01 (and the most of them are ~0.001 fee) fee.
I found a bug, right now i'm making the changes in code and i will contact with pools to fix this.
Because miners decide if they will add the transaction or not!

Also, in middle time, from 21/12 i have adviced both exchangers to not send transactions under 0.01 fee.

Your money it's not possible to lost except if you send them in wrong address! Smiley

Please, be patient.. i do my best!

Thanks Vassilis.
At the moment it should not be necessary at all to set a tx-fee, because the tx-volume on the chain can easily be handled and no need to prioritize any tx. I'm pretty sure, no miner/pool will look at the fees now, since they simply mine every possible block at the moment, in order to increase their income.

Nice volume today: ~165000 USD
Please keep in mind, that it is still cheaper to buy in LTC-, DOGE- and ETH-markets. So always compare, before you buy, in order to get the best price: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/mooncoin/#markets

It's different way of priority calculation. now matters the amount of inputs, fee compare to amount and difficulty to confirm transaction.
And until will go to fork we will have this issue (because over 100 nodes still have the old wallet)

OK, so after the fork, when most have updated to wallet version 0.13.9, it will be solved?

Then here the links to the new wallet again: Smiley

Don't panic guys!

They sent from the new wallet with low fee the transactions. They will fix this soon! No transaction lost!

Wouldn't it be good, to warn users in the wallets, if they set a too low tx-fee?

Another thing to improve: the built-in miner on the new wallet seems to have "yourwallet"-address as a placeholder, right? The wallet should warn the user, if he does not overwrite this with a valid Mooncoin-address. Otherwise this placeholder shows up on the P2Pool's  "active miners"- tab and the users won't be rewarded if a block is found.

This is the 3nd time or 4th I think, that I said for the fee limits! But those transactions are not from users but from exchanger.

All the instructions I ever gave said to change the address from Miner tab. I understand the problem, but what else i can do? I will add the instructions in github 1st page(README.md).

The best would be, if the code checked the settings for the address automatically, before the mining starts. If no valid Mooncoin-address is set, a warning should appear.

Regarding the fees: At the moment no fee should be necessary at all, because of the relatively low tx-volume on the chain. But if the user sets one, the code should check, whether the amount could be a problem. Why is this a problem anyway? Is there a reason in the code for this?

thank you for good words!
Merry Christmas to everyone!

After we finish with fork, i will add features to wallets and to Mooncoin! We need cross-platform "ready to use" wallets, mobile wallet, online wallet, etc.
And also i will start to motivate an inner/outer economy for Mooncoin!
We will see.. just stay tuned! Wink

Mooncoin_Foundation mentioned, that you worked for/with Burstcoin before? Nice movement of price for BURST today, btw. ...
But the reason I'm asking is, that I've seen, that Burstcoin has Proof of Capacity built-in, right? Maybe we could add that to Mooncoin also? A long time ago I proposed in this thread, to add something like Proof of CPU, which would do kind of CPU-staking, based on the CPU you run. So if you have a mainboard with several server-CPU's your stake would be bigger, than with the ARM of a Raspi, for example.
Have you thought about this also? It could result in a kind of hybrid: the ones that have scrypt-ASICs can still mine with them, but all others could mine, respectively stake, also in a reasonable way. The problem with mining scrypt via CPU only is, that you cannot compete with ASICs.
Another option would be a Proof of Capacity based on the installed RAM.

Good afternoon ! I think that it will be a good idea to add something similar with Proof of Capacity, Proof of Stake or another algorithm. But the most important thing now is the hard fork... Smiley
When is the hard fork going to happen? Sorry, if it was answered before. I have the latest wallet though with segwit.

According to GitHub ( https://github.com/mooncoincore/wallet ) the hardfork will happen from block 1250000. We are now at 1178327 ( see https://moonchain.net/chain/Mooncoin or https://chainz.cryptoid.info/moon/ or https://bchain.info/MOON/ ).
The latest binaries can be found here: https://github.com/mooncoincore/wallet/releases
If you want to send coins from your wallet after the hardfork, this can only be done safely with version 0.13.9.

Proof of Capacity is very different thing of hashing! You dont hash anything. You do a "plot" with all hashes in begin when you add an hdd and that's it! After that no work needs! It's dif logic at all from hash coins!
I don't believe that Proof of CPU is something good..
Proof of Stake maybe..
But for now we have the fork! Smiley

I'm perfectly OK with Proof of Stake, too.
In fact, that is, what I was suggesting a veeerry long time ago (last year, or that before, don't know anymore and repeating several times ...  Wink  ). A PoW/PoS-hybrid Mooncoin would be very nice. Smiley

And also do a rebrand of name perhaps :-)

Not again this topic. We already have three different designs.
We really should focus on the essentials.

Yes, and regarding this the most important thing is, that everyone updates their wallet to the latest version, so the transition can happen as smoothly as possible.
