101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin | PoW to PoS v. 2.0 | Solar Proof of Generation (§1 = 1MWh) on: June 13, 2016, 02:53:08 AM
I asked the poloniex trollbox moderator about when solarcoin was going to be added he said he has no info about it being added.

Polo mods are not privy to information about which or when coins are added or delisted. But it would be good to know when SLR will be added.

On a side note - BTC is certainly on the rise and one reason why SLR reached $0.25 so soon. Any predictions when/if SLR will reach $0.50?
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin | PoW to PoS v. 2.0 | Solar Proof of Generation (§1 = 1MWh) on: June 11, 2016, 04:50:09 AM
THe last few months have been great. Solarcoin is expanding at a great rate. I would be happy if the price held at this level for a few months and built a base. If it keeps going up I'm concerned about a big drop. Would rather take the slow and steady approach where new investors do not get burned.

No one will ever get burned, it will just take investing more money after the drop. They can hedge their positions all the way down to a satoshi if needed and at that point they will be able to use their coin too at merchants and maybe even for solar with this kind of bitcoin on the buy side. Of course the volume could be fake but I feel it is real and people want to change out their Bitcoin for a green alternative, and then later SolarCoin can unhook from the BTCTow truck spewing black plumes of smoke as it speeds down the highway.

Good days ahead for SolarCoin if people hedge and prepare for these distribution (I won't call them Dumps anymore) events... Hedging is the only way to recover from this and if people are serious about investing they will hedge their positions. You should too, it will just prove out participation in the end since the hedge will show the median price point and then the swings will stabilize and create liquidity simultaneously since you can not sell above and must buy below so it locks you in as an investor if you want to eventually make money off your high buy after distribution occurs.

Example... 3 BTC at .0003 and you get 10,000 SLR. The price drops to .0001 so you buy 3 more BTC for 30,000. Now the price drops further and you hedge another 3 BTC at .00005 for 60,000 SLR. You now have 100K of SLR and your new break even point is not .0003 it is .00009. But you will be buying if no one else is buying and replicate this all the way down to a satoshi and you still have a viable coin to use and it is now stable at 1 satoshi, and you can own tons to hedge and if it jumps up to 2 satoshi you can double your money. So that is the hedge and you must think long term on this one, since there will be a point where distribution happens. If large coin holders participate and don't sell it will be smooth sailing to $120 per coin easily. These holders would be silly to crash the market knowing they could have the majority of coin for quite some time.

Good strategy indeed...but there is one major assumption you did not mention: liquidity (e.g. buyers). Hedging is great investing, as is dollar (BTC)-cost averaging to reduce risk. However if you get left with the bag as so many in crypto do who mistakenly buy at ATH thinking price will rise, you are "s@*t out of luck" and wind up holding a bag with no buyers. I'm not saying this will be the case with SLR as there remains so much value in the ultimate system, but only responding with a bit of criticism to your optimism. 😀😉

Anyone know any devs that want to take over QORA project? The community now appears very fragmented so doubt any funds could be raised. But maybe some devs might consider taking on the project as a hobby.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HOW HIGH IS WAY TOO HIGH on: June 05, 2016, 04:12:42 AM
The big concern for me is the $6 million dollars invested into the folks building a competing solar blockchain, as that kind of money will most certainly produce results quickly, that could expand around the globe (even though the focus seems to be in the US right now). Instead of being the only solar blockchain - SLR is now in a race/competition, that it could lose Sad
They have nothing, just an announcement.
There is only one real solar blockchain.
My concern is there is more and more FUD while the price rising and new people coming.

Um, guess my head's been in the dirt....link please?
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HOW HIGH IS WAY TOO HIGH on: June 04, 2016, 02:12:21 PM
Currently waaay to much volatility to day trade....The pump started a couple of days ago. Whales are creating this volitility and pump. I'm afraid they will dump millions of $$ worth when it hits polo (if hits polo - I have not see evidence from polo about this). Be careful.

edit: with this many rich wallets - https://chainz.cryptoid.info/slr/#!wallets - these high prices are not sustainable. Volume is too low even if one wallet "cashes out"

Yikes!

The rich wallets are reducing. As the price goes up the large holders are slowly selling coins. This always happens. Not too many people can hold everything after it's gone up 30x. I am speaking from experience in this case.

Same here. My stash is smaller than it used to be :p
I GOT 302,425.433 SLR AND GROWING DAILY
THIS IS THE FIRST COIN THAT IS PAYING INTEREST
WHEN I FIRST STARTED MINING SLR THE TALK WAS 10.00 USD BY 2020
AFTER ALL IT IS THE FIRST COIN TIED TO A COMMODITY

And

Easily see $1+ on Poloniex the first day in my opinion.
I was wondering the same thing. There are some good reasons why this could happen. If speculators do their research and look at SLR's long term charts its has very healthy long term growth. It often reminds me of bitcoin the the early days.

First, what the point of bragging about ones holdings?! Congrats to you but posting your stack total does nothing but make potential investors in SLR run for the hills frankly. Someone coming into SLR sees yours and so many fat SLR wallets together with so little liquidity on the exchange and it paints a picture of "doom and gloom" for the future SLR value. Basically with only about 60 BTC buy orders and 525 BTC worth of sell orders on the books at Bittrex, your stack alone would put a pretty good dent in the price! That is my concern in the coming months as SLR gains popularity...whale wallets cashing out. But markets will be markets and I'm only stating the obvious for those wanting to enter the SLR market. Frankly, I hope the price drops off and increases slowly instead of this pump we are seeing which will inevitably lead to a dump/correction.

Anyone suspect BTCD will ever reach its ATH of over $5 USD? If so, why and when? Thanks.

Why, coz BTCD is like selling 'shovels' to all the other blockchains, every blockchain based application  will need to use the middleware tech jl777 has created to stay competitive

When, I'd say another 6 months, jl777 is finishing everything first and not launching a half made product.

BTCD is for patient people who do research

This sounds reasonable, thanks for the feedback. I'm quite a big holder of BTCD. I remember the hype pre-BTCD becoming the middleware tech and scooped up as much as I could. I also believe BTCD can be at center-stage one day. Development takes time but hope the BTCD-vortex of all things crypto related does not get lost in the dust by new hyped tech that keeps pushing out. Software eats everything, including older software.

SolarCoin will be added [to poloniex] with the next release.

Any idea what "next release" means, particularly related to timeline?

What are the forecasts for the price Qora?

Qora will be trading above 49 sat by the end of the week. We seem to have formed strong support around 11-12 sat so the only way is up  Cool
When those waiting for the price drop to below 9 sat realise that it won't happen, the FOMO will start  Cheesy

Haha, yea 50 sat would be a big surprise Shocked

I'd dish out a couple of bitcoin if this were to happen!

but not holding my breath!  Undecided

I believe it was on its way back to 50 until bitcoin started pumping, let's wait and see  Grin

Would be great to see QORA stabilized between 50-60 at least. It easily deserves this price - it would be a market cap of about 2.5-3 million USD and in the top 30 of all cryptos.  Cool

Me?
As some of you have noticed, I still have my own plans.
I may clone Qora and start over ... or may not, I may trolling all day long ...or may not ... whatever.
It doesn't really matter anyway, right?

No we have not noticed. How can we know what you are doing if Vrotris last post was Nov 2015 and Renodura has only 1 post!? Those who know you from Qora I think respect you as a coder and one who took Qora to where it is. So why not just tell us what you are doing, you might be surprised.

@qora.team:

Please, is there anyway you could upload a newer data folder on http://qora.co.in ? It would save a lot of time starting up the new client.  Cheers!
