I just witnessed on Gox a single massive 1.4 K sell at once at 430 dropping all the way down to 405. Damn.
It's good to see how bitcoin isn't affected by this kind of things any more.  Smiley

and yet it bounced RIGHT back up to 430.

I don't have the numbers off hand to back this up, but it seems like the April-May rise would have been seriously affected by such a sell even for a few hours.  This time around it's almost like these dumps don't happen.

Am I crazy for feeling this to be the case?

no this is indeed the case.

the "bubble pop" happened on very little volume, everyone let that knife fall. no one is letting the kinfe fall today... ( might be because the chinese promiss to buy ALL the bitcoin for mtgox price +10%  Tongue )

Now, the question is is there any possible scenario where we don't just keep climbing until we get to 0 volume again whether it's at $450, $500, $1000, ect?

I like to think that simply not being able to be Goxxed this time around is the key ingredient, but I'd like to hear other opinions.

Bitstamp is closing in to the price of Mtgox. This means CRASH!

Does it?? Because I posted about a convergence on Nov 7th ITT and guess what, BOOOOOM.

AM I seeing things? Gox and Stamp nearly equal in price.

When you're a bear, everything means CRASH!

If I could have just one bitcoin wish (besides to have more bitcoin), I'd wish that all this action would happen while I WASN'T at work.

Which action - up or down?

Well, preferably up but still, action while not at work > action at work

Wouldn't be a bitcoin rally without same lame bears trying to counter dump Cheesy  They forget we are living in a post Goxxing world.

So Stamp looks like its hung up at 398-399...time to sell my 1.5BTC and call it a day?

Only if you want to know what regret feels like.

For people who only read this thread, this story has the potential to have long term consequences: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1qk8yl/bitcoinism_is_it_time_to_boycott_all_us_bitcoin/

For fucks sake  Undecided
How in the world is this even remotely being considered? This is a terrible idea.

what i want to know is wtf these 3 "bitcoiners" were thinking!?
this kind of black listed coins idea is a well known slippery slope that destroys bitcoins usefulness.
I am strongly outraged, and will participate in the boycott.

These guys are stupid beyond belief, but free market, yea?  That's how the libertarian free market rolls.

so everyones seen the ask depth once we hit 500 right?  will more asks come in as we get closer? if not we are just going to flyyy

The ask depth looked similar to when we were about to hit 100, and then looked the same at 200, then 300....ect

Looks like there was a huge USD spike on Gox a bit ago. New ATH in USD by far.
111  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 13, 2013, 08:41:14 PM
Comeon stampers, break that $400 wall!
112  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 13, 2013, 06:37:17 PM
We are close to having a new ATH in terms of amount of USD on the books @ Gox.

I just have to post in a thread with such an epically bad OP.
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 13, 2013, 03:59:17 PM
That seems like a really awful way to dump.

Right in the middle of a rally and creating $20 slippage in doing so?  Just terrible...
115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 13, 2013, 01:04:14 AM
It's little strange... Stamp an Btc-e are going crazy, but BtcChina (ok the did before stamp) and Gox aren't moving alot.

It is strange to see BTChina not react a lot. Not sure if good news or bad news.
116  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 13, 2013, 01:00:37 AM
Stamp is all like CHOO CHOO MUTHA TRUCKERS

And Gox all be like "Duuuuuur wut?"

117  Economy / Speculation / Re: please tell me i've done good? on: November 13, 2013, 12:28:05 AM
so, i'm not that old, about 13, i don't have a job and i don't have a lot of savings to invest.......

after a huge amount of research, and in a moment of madness i withdraw from my college fund, which is technically mine although its my parents who pay into into it.

i've managed to buy 12 bitcoins. i'll be holding these indefinitely, even if the btc price drops 90%. no trading, although i may sell x amount to cover my expenses if things go well.

please reassure me i've done good?

and is 12 btc a good position?

and no lectures.

thanks

At least you didn't buy a $12000 wizard hat.

But jebus, I wish I had a college fund worth that much when I was 13.

The bear trap is closing!

When bitcoin is stable, everyone complains. When bitcoin is volatile everyone else complains. :-)

i'm happy at $350. Let it sink in. Marinate in it. Get used to the idea of it being the bottom. :-)

I hate to break it to ya, but people on the Internet just like to complain in general.
120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 12, 2013, 10:26:29 PM
I'm speculating that we'll be in the 360s area on stamp in a matter of hours (4-5).

As far this board goes, that prediction is so reasonable as to be unreasonable!
