thank you, i read: "Download the latest version of MetaMask for Chrome or Firefox. If you have not used MetaMask before, you will be required to set up a wallet and generate a recovery seed. This recovery seed is separate and is not part of your Trezor and is not necessary if you only intend to use MetaMask with your Trezor."
Since i use metamask years ago, i don't have to set up a wallet?
If it's already installed, and you have a wallet setup and everything then yes, you don't need to setup a wallet. You could just open your MetaMask, and click on "Account 1" dropdown (or whatever you named it) -> "Add account or hardware wallet" -> "Add hardware wallet".

That's correct, you shouldn't import your seedphrase. That defeats the whole purpose of using a hardware wallet. Here's a step-by-step guide from Trezor. It's a pretty straightforward process: https://trezor.io/learn/a/metamask-and-trezorIf you want to access your tokens on other EVM chains or L2s that are stored in your Trezor, then all you have to do is switch the network like you normally do.

For watching addresses? Bluewallet[1] is a good choice. You can either watch individual addresses, or a whole wallet using your xPub. If you also want to watch your exchange's wallet (that cannot be done by watching your receiving addresses) then you should probably look into Portfolio apps like Delta. What could be the reason behind people having to buy old wallets and could there be any risk attached?
It's usually because of airdrops. Some projects make airdrops for active addresses. The only risk I could think of is if your address is somehow attached to your identity (maybe you linked it by signing a message or something of that nature) then that could backfire.

It has nothing to do with your account and if it did, you would still be able to visit the website. It appears that a lot of people are facing trouble accessing the site (I can't either) if you check their latest post (6 hours ago) comments section: https://twitter.com/freebitco/status/1758445042904215902

As mentioned above, if you have a seedphrase or private keys, it probably doesn't matter which wallet you have been using.
So what do you need the list for? and which platform was it (PC or mobile)? That could help us.

So, it is very similar to Exodus wallet, as it has an integrated interface for making cryptocurrencies exchanges in addition to a wallet that enables you to obtain seeds, the only difference is that Rabbit is open source. I don't think it's worth trying, especially when there are better options.
Might be worst though. Because it might be open source, but at the same time is a web-based wallet. There's is nothing that guarantees that the version you're using on your browser is the same one hosted on GitHub unfortunately. Yes, i understand and know that it is a new wallet and for that reason, i posted here to find the reviews about it. My question was that since it is an open source, if there was any scam attempt in the code, it must have been discovered by now or maybe in the very near future. If nothing bad is discovered, will it be good to use?
It takes time to establish trust. It's not a matter of a couple of hundred people using the wallet and then you're good to go. As I have mentioned, you should probably stay away from it since when it doesn't offer anything unique.

-snip- This is Coinbase Twitter link: https://twitter.com/coinbaseI am not using the exchange, there should be a way you can also send email to their customer care representative or it can even be through live chat which is preferable. I use live chat on the exchanges that I am using after their bot is not able to answer my question as usual. This one is better, it's the official support account: https://twitter.com/coinbasesupportSending a complaint using the link you posted should be equal to sending an email. As for the live chat, apparently it's with a virtual assistant, probably won't be of too much help.

Am I correct is saying that this is a race against time? If the transaction is in limbo, does it disappear after three days (today, gulp..)?
Not really, no. I wouldn't say so because they didn't process the transaction to start with. But you are in a race against time for sure, because the deadline either passed or will be soon as I have mentioned above: https://localbitcoins.com/service_closure/
|
|
|
Does this provide any clues please and can you recommend anything?
Thanks
When did they send you an email saying you should withdraw? was it also on Saturday? The transaction details show that it's "pending" so it's possible they haven't processed it yet, and you should wait until they do. I suggest you try and reach out to them to accelerate things.

TXID = transaction ID That address definitely hasn't received any transactions as you can see here: https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/addresses/btc/bc1q3npdpvagw89w7ajq9qlva5k5sn6lamrewaqk4vxtstt9mvtkjfaqkjsmyvSo there is nothing wrong with your Electrum. Localbitcoins never sent the funds to start with. Now, according to Localbitcoins: We encourage all customers to withdraw their funds from LocalBitcoins and we ask you to proceed with withdrawing the Bitcoins from your LocalBitcoins wallet. You have 12 months to withdraw, however of course we encourage you to proceed withdrawing sooner.
Thank you for being a part of the LocalBitcoins family! It has been our honor and pleasure to serve you over the last decade.
Timeline for discontinuing the Bitcoin trading service: 2023-02-09 Suspension of new sign ups 2023-02-16 Suspension of trading on LocalBitcoins Suspension of using LocalBitcoins wallet (with exception of withdrawing one's funds) After 2023-02-17 LocalBitcoins customers will only be able to log-in to withdraw their Bitcoins. The trading and Wallet services will no longer be available at this point. We thank you for choosing LocalBitcoins for all these years and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
It's difficult to say whether the 12-month period starts from the 17th of February (meaning you still have time) or when they first wrong that message.

|
I'm guessing that Localbitcoins still allows withdrawals?
If the funds left the account as they're claiming, they should've provided you with a TXID.
You could also post your receiving address, so we can check if you actually received the funds, and this is just a display issue from Electrum or something else.

From my understanding (and someone corrects me if I'm wrong), this is not any different than Bitcoin's HD wallet. You can generate as many receiving addresses as you want and use them for as long as you want. The money should sit there, it won't be forwarded anywhere on its own, since this is a non custodial wallet.
|
|
|
Probably yes. Even if you manage to find another exchange, that has lower withdrawal limits, you would probably still need to pay for a withdrawal fee (possibly 1 USDT t). It's probably not worth it. You're better off finding someone who's willing to do this for you instead of using an exchange.

Drawbacks of close source?
You don't know what's happening behind the scenes and what the developers are doing. I'm not saying Exodus is doing that, but you can't know for sure that the team is not saving your seedphrase, or private keys without your knowledge, or if there's is backdoor. An example of something similar happening is Atomic wallet. Multiple user's wallets have been hacked recently when the wallet claimed to be "non-custodial", how could this have happened when there is no centralized server that holds the private keys like it is the case with exchanges?

About Electrum what step did you do why it only generate a legacy wallet? If you are using the latest version of Electrum it should generate a segwit address and then you can later able to export the private key by going to menu> walle> private keys> export to backup all segwit addresses in csv or json format you can print it if you want just make sure all these processes are offline.
"custom build address" I think what he wants to generate is vanity addresses, and not segwit addresses. @OP You don't need to pay, certainly not to generate a wallet. Be that a custom one, or a segwit/legacy address. Could you please give more information on what you're trying to achieve?
