101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kaspersky marks cgminer 3.0 as a dangerous object and deletes it. on: May 12, 2013, 03:37:30 AM
I got it from Github.

: \

normally i wouldn't mention it but Kaspersky im my opinion the best anti malware out - is usally on the spot knowing what is and isn't malware?

fresh Win 7 install {not rig setup just PC} - only thing that has been loaded is Kaspersky - from disc, then put USB from other PC in.

It autodeletes it because people commonly use cgminer for botnets. Add it to exceptions.

mr_random cleaned up his thread title at last.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] YaCoin FUD Thread [Stop posting them and come here] on: May 11, 2013, 01:53:46 PM
Have to say that this is entertaining to watch. Is this the first cryptocoin fud?

Maybe one of the thousandth, search the keyword FUD, I bet you'll get a million or so results.

If you mean for altcoins, errr no there have been a few.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] YaCoin FUD Thread [Stop posting them and come here] on: May 11, 2013, 01:52:48 PM
YACOIN HAS STOLE $200 OF MY BITCOINS FUCK YOU YACOIN

You aren't helping for making a new thread by the way, your cluttering this section even more.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] YaCoin FUD Thread [Stop posting them and come here] on: May 11, 2013, 01:41:03 PM
My "guess" is that this is where the trojan.. if it even exits.. came from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=200147.0

Another guy in spam frenzy...

Please post proofs. I can't see any. (and your pc cant get infected reading a thread on bitcointalk man....)

Or are you accusing ali1234? I cant really understand you.

Did ali1234 release windows binaries for his miner? If he didn't, then I doubt it was him, we would have seen it in the source. Seems like everyone is saying this happened on windows.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STOP THE YACOIN FUD AND ANSWER QUESTIONS FIRST on: May 11, 2013, 01:26:04 PM
We need screenshots of Wireshark, Process Monitor or Firewall warnings. I can't replicate the issue at all. I've been trying to make it steal my (empty) bitcoin wallet.dat in a VMware, but I'm not succeeding.

To my understanding, the way people are describing it is that the coins were sent in waves, not right when it detects your wallet (If it even does)

111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] YaCoin FUD Thread [Stop posting them and come here] on: May 11, 2013, 01:18:52 PM
This can serve as the discussion thread, since nobody has made a good thread for such yet. People are claiming that their bitcoins were sent from their bitcoin wallet to another place. People are pointing fingers at YaCoin, but before we can do that we need these questions answered:

1. What OS are you on?
2. Where did those who lost coins download their client?
3. Did anyone loose coins from a client they built directly from the source, as opposed to released by the dev or someone else?
3a. If so, which source?
4. Where were your coins sent to?
5. WE NEED PICTURES, SCREENSHOTS, ETC

Also:

Has anyone considered it could have been the cpuminer that was released for it later on?
Maybe not the developer of it, but someone who built windows binaries for everyone might have stuck a wallet stealer in it before building.

Someone confirm, right now all I see is FUD. Bitcoin-ticker.net could also be a node, mind you.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][BOT] Automatic escrow service [beta coming soon] on: May 11, 2013, 05:45:29 AM
I was thinking about the exact same thing yesterday, a website or some sort of irc bot that does escrow for you. Good work!
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Consolidated Litecoin Mining Guide for 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx GPUs on: May 11, 2013, 05:41:20 AM
Have you taken a look at this? And tried the settings for the 5770's listed?
https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/wiki/Mining-hardware-comparison

Also, I use CCC 13.5 Beta 2, with my 5850's, which I think is basically the same as the 13.4 driver, but the 13.5 beta 2 works flawlessly with the supplied sdk. Most likely a setting rather your sdk, maybe?

I did look there. There are only 2 5770 recordings, and one is for Reaper. The other one I already tried, same result.

Here is my settings for my 5770:
Code:
--thread-concurrency 4000 --gpu-engine 850 --gpu-memclock 1200 --intensity 15 --worksize 256 -g 1

I also tried concurrency 3200, 4000, 4800, and 7680. They don't change more then 1kh/s.
Worksize 128 and 64 lower it by about 5kh/s
GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT changes nothing as well.

Here are the default values guiminer scrypt gives for a 5770 on Windows. Should perform almost the same in Linux imo?
thread concurrency: 3200
worksize: 256
intensity: 18
That gets me 200 khash/s. With intensity 11 I get 153kH, good for desktop use.

I'm using my exact same windows settings. I'd pull 200kh/s with my settings mentioned above on windows. I only pull 140kh/s on linux.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Consolidated Litecoin Mining Guide for 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx GPUs on: May 11, 2013, 02:19:40 AM
No matter what I try I can't achieve over 140kh/s on my 5770 on linux. Any help? I've tried many concurrencys.

Linux Mint 14
Catalyst 13.4
6850 and 5770

I thought that maybe it was my SDK version, since my 6850 is fine but my 5770 isn't. Any version recommended?

117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do anyone know how to set the value of pushpool configure file? on: May 11, 2013, 12:09:17 AM
"rpc.target.bits" lets you choose what difficulty you want the shares to be. The difficulty isn't actually difficulty 20 or 21. Example, 32bits is difficulty 1, what most bitcoin pools use.

Since most miners around here are GPU miners, you should probably set it to 20 or 21.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQ is a joke, and here's why you should buy it anyway on: May 11, 2013, 12:00:57 AM
BBQCoin isn't really a joke anymore.
