Inflation averages approx 3%.

Funds stored with lower than 3% yield means your cash is devaluing.

A 1% interest yield means your savings devalues 2% each year = 20% loss in value over a 10 year period.

A 3-4% bond is close to breaking even but there are risks involved.

If btc loans could sustain 10% - 20% returns averaging near to 17% above inflation with insurance that would be an attractive offer to many.

Even 8% - 10% would be attractive.

.
Are you talking about weekly, monthly, or yearly?

The .5%-1% in the OP is weekly mind you. With mining investments, loans, and other investments 1% weekly is the highest sustainable but the risks are enormous. .25%-.5% weekly is MUCH safer, so that is why I'm asking if people would still deposit at .25-.5% weekly. I KNOW I can make .25%-.5% but I feel insecure about 1%.

Current bitcoin deposits go from 1-3% weekly, and if they aren't scams then I praise them for their business expertise.

Hi everyone-

GLBSE closing is unfortunate and frustrating to all of us.  That being said, I truly believe the Bitcoin community deserves a better marketplace than what Nefario was providing.  This could be an opportunity to create a far better exchange that will help to catalyze adoption and growth of Bitcoin.

That being said, I am evaluating alternatives that we can use in the interim. Even if we need to transact directly in the interim I am open to that.  As far as I am concerned, there is no change to BITBOND.  Once I can get bond ownership info, I'll proceed with weekly payouts. Until then, the payouts will be banked.  As bondholders you will receive the payouts you are entitled to.

Regarding the ASIC upgrade.  I have revised the upgrade path quite extensively (e.g. there is only a free and paid upgrade - no small, medium, mega, etc.).  I intended to release the upgrade info today (bad timing!).  If current or prospective bondholders are chomping at the bit to know the upgrade plan, I can share it.  Otherwise, I'll focus on where to take BITBOND after GLBSE.

Cryptostocks?

449  Economy / Lending / Re: Few questions for depositors. on: October 07, 2012, 03:02:12 AM
It's sort of remarkable that you ask if an interest rate of .5 or 1% is reasonable. Only a few years ago, savings accounts returned 6 to 8% interest.

I guess remarkable would be the right word. Maybe those people who offered 6-8% found some amazing investments, but I haven't been lucky enough to find them.
450  Economy / Lending / Few questions for depositors. on: October 07, 2012, 02:42:38 AM
Depositors:
1. What sort of interest rate would you look for from a deposit account? .5%? 1%?

2. Your interest, would you rather have it based on how much of a profit the business/bank makes (You'd make more some weeks & less others) or a fixed interest rate?

3. Would you rather have your deposits in for a fixed amount of time, or until you like to pull out?

If I think of anymore I'll put them up (I know there is more I meant to ask but I've blanked out).

Are you argue with me?

We or i`m not a 12 years old kid, i like to create/build not to debate something... So please calm down , i`m confident that will be non-exploitable u need 100% answer?

Miners , answer only for "organofcorti": YES will be non-exploitable.

Please again let the miners decide that after will be live.

Thank you.

Hate to argue with you but, miners could just connect right when it records your hashrate, then disconnect after its recorded. Then reconnect 10 minutes later, then disconnect... etc etc. Full payout while only mining say 1 minute every 10.

Well actually, that depends on if your using the average hashrate over the last 10 minutes, or if you are using instantaneous hashrate.

I'm not so sure not that I have a bit more information.

Quote
hoppers receive significantly less BTC if a block long before they leave the server. This difference is distributed to users who are non-stop on the server.

sounds more like to kind of hopper tax btcpool has. If you manage to find out more details, can you post them?

Hmm... there is a ratio for block data on the site now too.

457  Other / Archival / Re: Mining pools list on: September 30, 2012, 02:33:17 PM
Thanks Tittiez - you sure they're using slush's score? I'm having trouble following what's written on the website using Google translate:

Quote
Payment system is based on proportional representation with coefficient P2LS.
Quote
PPS is currently inactive and it is necessary to switch the miners PROP system.

It sounds like slush's score (which is a proportional payment system) but I'm not certain - do you have any details?

http://www.bitcoinbalkan.com/forum/pool/4468-novi-sistem-isplate-p2ls

Translated OP (Thanks Google):

Quote
We introduce a new payment system on the server. So far, only briefly, later I'll throw more detail:
Basically this system, hoppers receive significantly less BTC if a block long before they leave the server. This difference is distributed to users who are non-stop on the server. Also, users who come to the end of the block can get much more BTC, so the net loss now if someone involved in a long block.
system is still good for hopovanje in very short blocks for inclusion in the second half of the block (just needs estimate when the other half).

Those are the clues which lead me to believe its score now.

This is great! A wiki of pool features is a much better idea than trying to lump them all into the OP, since anyone can edit changes as they occur. Hope you don't mind if I add a link in the OP.

Its been there forever, I cleaned it up and made it how your OP looked, split by reward types, but luke reverted it all and said discuss big revisions first.

Oh well. I'll start a discussion about it.
459  Other / MultiBit / Re: MultiBit on: September 30, 2012, 05:40:30 AM
I think this is one of those "1 in a thousand" failures so I expect most people will never encounter it.
It will appear in the next live and test releases.

You had to get the private keys out of my corrupted file when the same thing happened to me a few months ago (I think that was what happened, or something similar).

You inspired me...

Hows it look? I used seperate tables for the payouts like you did in the OP. The wiki page needed a revamp BAD anyway. Smiley
