About the proposals: A calculator is.. hard to do. As many people still mine solo it would be hard to get a somewhat useful value from a calculator.. i can only give you odds, nothing better.
Isn't that what every calculator for bitcoin gives you anyway? Then at least you can get a general idea of how much of a chance you have at solving a block. |

Nobody going to help me test my pool for tonight? I know at least payouts are working, I have already found two blocks. I just need to make sure pushpool will run fine under some load and make sure nothing fucks up in one night. Its PPLNS.

What cards? And the guide, when it comes down to configurating the cards, works the same way. I'm just explaining how to use --shaders. The guide won't have sureset settings for every card guys. Wow if I had that kinda time... no it explains how to set up cgminer, and it gives some insight as to finding the best settings. |

The guide is pretty much done, but the pool isn't exactly ready yet so I'm not releasing the link. Should be done sometime late tomorrow. Please do, my 7770 pulls 20kh/s max on cgminer. I tried playing with it for an hour and gave up. Reaper gets 140kh/s, which also kind of sucks. Mining BTC I get 200MH/s easy.
I don't know individual settings, I'm just simply using the --shaders command in the example and telling people how to use it (mostly hoping it is updated with more witchcraft). Maybe I'll set up a spreadsheet so people can submit to me settings to add by a google docs/drive form. See, me hoping for witchcraft: --shaders #### - This tries to choose the best settings for mining scrypt on your graphics cards. It does mathy witchcraft stuff to chooses the best settings for your gpu based on your shaders. To find the best number for this, look at the table in this post, find your gpu and set this setting as the number of shaders your card has. |

Hate to bump an old thread, but I'm setting up a pool and I have everything working. My shares are being counted an all, but the only problem is my hashrate isn't being reported on the site at all. Any help?
Do you mean it is reported as zero? Bitcoin frontends usually display hash rates in MH/s, so that may be the cause. No no I fixed it with nushor's help, I had share history with pushpool screwed up. |

Okay I've experimented some more and
export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
will obviously cause a problem, but it gives me massive scope for trying different tc, etc since I can theoretically allocate 3GB on a 7970. However the code would try to allocate the largest buffer by default which is not right with this value now, so I've committed a change (to git) that will find the nearest buffer size that is a power of 2 between the thread concurrency buffer requirement and the maximum allocable ram.
Playing some more with my 7970s I found the values it was already running were pretty close to optimal. The only thing I found useful with the increased ram available was that I am now able to increase threads a little more (5 instead of 4) which afforded another 5kh per device.
The good news is that this should be what the 5x/6x miners were looking for on linux. I suggest you download the latest changes from git and start experimenting with TCs that are a multiple of your shader count after setting the above variable to 100%.
Should I rebuild it now or are you going to commit more right now? |
