101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can people still get the addictive nature through friendly games on: April 28, 2024, 12:39:38 PM
If this is indeed a friendly game then you must all be know that you are not fighting against each others instead you are just enjoying the game with bets or not.

But for me ? our friendly game requires no money but just to enjoy our day together that we have been doing for many years now at least once a month when we have time to consume.
The fact that this game creates a fight, then I don’t think it’s a friendly game anymore. No one fights for just a friendly game, and I don’t think friendly games may require some money betting to the extent that one may put hatred over another until it’ll end into misunderstanding and create a fight. Otherwise, you are not into a friendly game anymore, but a serious betting game.
And no one wants to lose their friends because of a friendly game. They will not risks that instead just search for the other games that will not harm their relationship. That will not makes them enjoy the games instead will creates a competition and in the end, that can triggers to a fight. A friendly games doesn't require money to enjoy the games but they can play that together with their friends such as playing football or other games without using money. That will helps them to fills their spare money without thinks about competition or else and only wants to enjoy the games together. They will not risks their money for just playing a friendly games because they knows that can gives a bad impact to them. So they will not doing that with their friends, especially if they are all their best friends.
Better not to involve money when doing this because that is right, it can lead to arguing even if they are friends. They won't enjoy but rather create misunderstanding which is why I prefer not to bet money for fairness of everyone. It is more fun having a game when you never think who gonna lose or who's gonna win. They won't take it seriously but rather make this game a bonding moment.
Honestly, not all games need money and not all games need to have tense moments. It is a different environment when you never think about competition, in fact, we are just friends.
102  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop paying money to learn trading when you can learn it yourself on: April 28, 2024, 03:39:58 AM
It is quite true that if one wants to jump into trading without adequate knowledge then he has to pay huge losses. Actually every business has low profit margin in the beginning but they can balance themselves well between losses and profits. Most of what they teach online about trading is theory but it is best if you can get training from a smart trader. But i have seen many people learn trading only by watching youTube videos and many people take training from different groups by paying money.
The wrong thought of many new traders, they all want to trade big time as if they are not beginners and they won't settle for a small amount of profit as they start. It's normal to trade with smaller amounts and wins at the start but you don't expect them to come because the typical thing about trading is that you're going to lose no matter what happens and every beginner is bound to get those losses because that's how it is going to be when you trade.
Losses are expected as we start trading and this is a part of learning. Having been aware of the situation, it was not difficult for us to accept in the time it came. If we want to trade, we also make sure that we are willing to work hard, get enough knowledge, and most of all, develop strategies that we think it will work effectively. Learning trading is easy, there are a lot of resources available but yes, what we have seen and read can be different in actual happening which is why we also need to learn to adapt to the changes.
More experience, more learning.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should only hold Bitcoin on: April 28, 2024, 02:29:23 AM
~
What I am ultimately getting at here in the theme of my post is that there is no other coin besides Bitcoin, which you can trust can be held over the long term. What are your thoughts?
I would agree that Bitcoin is a long-term investment but we can't just then think that all altcoins are not like Ethereum as I believe it is worth investing long-term together with Bitcoin. Putting 60-70% to Bitcoin and the left is for ETH, I think that is a fair investment plan IMO. It does not mean I have no total trust in Bitcoin but why I do this is because I also believe that ETH is promising and profitable among altcoins. I can't just ignore the chance it has shown and for many years have passed, ETH has still shown impressive performance which is convincing enough.

But of course, it is an individual preference and we choose an investment that we think is worthy.
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the number of new investors reduce? on: April 26, 2024, 02:36:33 PM
New investors come to enjoy the growing market and leave after having some benefits from the halving. Real investors keep on going and holding their Bitcoin while weak people are selling.

So what do we expect now? Despite the number of people leaving after selling their Bitcoin, some people will also open their doors to try to risk their money. Some investors left the market but some are also gaining interest. It means that the number of investors is continuously growing rather than thinking of reduction. Maybe if we talk about altcoin investors, that is somewhat possible but we are talking about Bitcoin.
105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 26, 2024, 12:33:16 PM
Maybe Austin Reaves is the only player that I think will remain with AD and Lebron. D'Lo 0 points in a must-win game is unacceptable unless he comes back in game 4 with a big offensive flow and help the team win.

True but it's too late for Lebron, they need another star player that is as good as Murray so Lebron and AD could continue doing their job. I don't know if the salary cap can still accomodate but if they really need to improve, they should trade DLO, actually they should have done that before the trade deadline, they could have a more reliable shooter now.
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 26, 2024, 11:52:52 AM
Since labor day is approaching, the PBA is going to distribute free tickets to all of the hardworking laborers out there. They've just announced it. So, next week's ticket on May 1 is going to be free as long as you present valid ID and other proofs that you're an employee or laborer.
That's great initiative, it's also a way of marketing so people's interest will grow on the PBA league. Because whether they admit it or not, it's pretty obvious that people are not watching PBA anymore. With this free tickets promo, we will see if they'll be able to bring people in the arena and judge from their if that strategy is working.
It was already reported few weeks back and it's true, PBA did the right thing as they need more attendance to make the league fun to watch. Although I just watch on my TV but seeing the bench looked empty that doesn't like a lively league.

Anyway, the first game was concluded, I lost my money because I bet on the wrong team, thinking that Meralco will loss and also got tempted with the odds of Phoenix, but they still loss, i got the ML by the way. I'm watching the 2nd game now, SMB vs Magnolia, looks like SMB is dominating again.
107  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why has bitcoin prices not increased just after halving ? on: April 26, 2024, 11:08:40 AM
Bitcoin mining fees has increased considerably today after halving but there are no effect on bitcoin prices. I suggested some friends to invest before and they are blaming me for the suggestion. I told them to wait for final effect as it can take some days for effect on prices but they are impatient.
We are all wrong about it because it is the fees that badly increase while the price drops. This is probably because the majority are selling their BTC causing a huge drop. But this does not say it will be like this until this year because I was still optimistic it would come soon and kept on waiting for the new ATH. Just like the previous halvings, it never pumps right after halving but just after a few weeks.

The market moves in a roller coaster, up and down -- and every pump happens, there is always a drop to follow, and vice versa.
Indeed, impatient people keep on complaining and too much expectation will somewhat affect our minds negatively.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 26, 2024, 06:33:32 AM
Meanwhile, it seems like Lebron is going to exit again with a 0-4 swept by the Nuggets. Just like the first 2 games, they starting strong but just couldn't finish strong.
Lakers even have a great performance in game 2 than in game 3. Nuggets are really dangerous, although the Lakers are one of the best but they just easily beat them. There's really a problem with the Lakers, their adjustments aren't working anymore, they badly need a good coach and fire Darvin Ham after their exit.

Last game, Russell was shooting well, this game he was 0-7, scoreless, and that really have impacted their game.

In fact, if we look at the stats, the Lakers are only 19% in 3 point area, although the Nuggets shooting FG are also low but they were able score inside.
109  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies take bitcoin as long term Choice to get the best out of bitcoin on: April 26, 2024, 05:29:43 AM
I choose Bitcoin for long-term and short-term, and I sell them without hesitation if ever the price hits my goal. To ask when to sell? There is no perfect answer when it depends on your target price. What is important is that we are certain of our goal and that is to make money, not to lose. If we follow this simple rule "Buy low and Sell high", the market can assure us that we can make money from it. But if we are too impatient, this is impossible, the results will only just hurt if we push through.

That is why a good market understanding is hereby required in the sense that this will guide us in good decision-making and strategies.
As we choose Bitcoin, therefore, we also help ourselves to become responsible and accept the fact that this is not a quick-rich scheme.
110  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading campaigns helps level up trading for traders on: April 26, 2024, 03:32:27 AM
Traders mostly enter the markets to make profits or accept losses. But these days, trading platforms incentivize traders with attractive rewards and events.
An example is this event which offers lucrative prizes like Louis Vuitton bags, Rolex watches, and even a Tesla car for achieving higher trading volumes.
It is quite interesting and tempting especially if you are new to trading. But I don't think this would gain interest from old traders, not in this case as it only is particular in Bitget. Well, of course, I support this kind of marketing strategy believing that Bitget can be trusted but in those suspicious platforms, I'd rather say NO.
Quote
So, even if traders incur losses, the prospect of earning substantial rewards can motivate them to keep trading. These kinds of campaigns make trading more engaging by providing tangible incentives beyond just monetary profits or losses. With the right strategy, dedicated traders can aim to accumulate trading volumes and secure coveted prizes while also making profits
They will be getting serious about this because traders are expecting something in return. Otherwise, this will be a reason for dragging down their reputation and that also ruin the entire crypto market. I hope this won't just be a sort of competition but a sort of making trader more realistic and careful with their actions.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: April 25, 2024, 11:47:52 PM
When we turn a profitable activity into a hobby, it becomes more pleasurable to do something we enjoy.
So, even when betting, it's recommended to enjoy it, but beware of addiction and never bet more than you should.

We should never go to the pot thirsty. When we do what we like, even our work becomes a hobby, something enjoyable to do.
Unfortunately, it never comes to that end because most gamblers find gambling not a hobby anymore but some sort of source.
Some gamblers are able to control themselves in their early days but gradually change from time to time as they are about to chase their losses. A hobby to addiction --this is what we usually see.

That is why I would agree that spending more time in gambling, the more possibly it leads to addiction. Therefore, don't make this gambling a hobby because this could also be a reason that compromises our finances.
112  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How possible can a forum memeber visiting foreign local board here? on: April 25, 2024, 10:33:00 PM
We can visit other local boards and can join their discussions if we fully understand their language but if we just use a translation tool, we better not do it. Not because it was not allowed or if there is a penalty but it is just like showing respect to them. Honestly, it was hard to keep using a translator board for the sake of communicating with other people.

I ask you a question, what is the main reason for doing this? Because I don't believe it is just to discuss with them about Bitcoin investment as it was already discussed in your local board as well.

Anyway, I hope that OP got the answer already.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone you introduced to BTC says the risks of her funds is on you on: April 25, 2024, 09:44:38 PM

You can imagine that she told me to give her my words that if anything happens to her funds if invested that I will have to refund her. 😏. That was silly and I felt mad at her.
And right then I clearly told her that I am not trying to introduce her to any of the Ponzi schemes so it is her choice to decide but all I can tell you(her) lastly about this is that your funds will be secured as long you (she) would stick to the terms I have explained to her after explaining the Pros and the Cons to her.
This is difficult when you are trying to convince people to buy but they don't have any idea what is all about. This will be going to happen when you talk to someone whose doubts are in their mind already and make them think you are a scammer because what they think about Bitcoin is a scam investment. If I were you, I wouldn't sacrifice myself and time to make them understand because close-minded people never learn fast.
Quote
Dear fellas, please I needed to know how you would feel if you were in my position basically where she said I would refund her if her funds gets lost becasue you recommended and introduced her to the system.
Don't make a deal with these people, they will blame you in the end and (might) ruin your reputation especially when they lose and tell everyone that you are a scammer and a liar.
114  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Leverage on: April 25, 2024, 09:13:45 PM
In life, leverage is good as it helps to help us accomplish a goal faster. But in trading, leverage in trading is clearly a bad deal. It messes things up for both the traders and the market. So my question is why do exchanges still offer them. They keep pushing it to traders like favourite snack?
That is how they attract new traders. This is business and leveraging ideas makes them more money. If you are a trader with only have small capital, you could really think this is the solution. Well, this also helps them to start but the exchange of such offer is quite not good especially if you lose them all. That is why if you are a beginner, this is highly discouraged in order not to face the huge consequences. It is better to just borrow money from your friends or from the locals rather than use this leverage feature of the exchange. Or the best thing is not to do any of these ways in order not to compromise our finances.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Jontay Porter receives lifetime ban from NBA for violating gambling rules" on: April 25, 2024, 02:10:31 PM
Morant was a different story. Flashing a gun has no victims, it's just bad for the "clean" image of the NBA and it's role model status. So he just got a short band, followed by another one, so he can learn from it.
Fixing games is bad for the league as a whole since it tarnishes it's reputation.

I agree with it, fixing games could really affect the NBA as a whole because it will loss its integrity if they'll not put an action to it. Just imagine how much the NBA loss when slowly people are leaving and will not be interested in watching the league because they think the league is a joke and games are rig.

No excitement, a loss of business opportunity, so they'll need to send a strong message that "game fixing" is not allowed and it's a mortal sin.

Ja Morant may not be a good role model but the NBA have made actions to it, and he came back strong and maybe a new man with a clear vision.
116  Economy / Economics / Re: Prioritizing strong foundation over quick gains on: April 25, 2024, 11:21:57 AM
Yes, as long as someone can perceive the risk and is willing to take the risk then they can invest. It cannot be denied that bitcoin is the safest currency and worth investing in in the long term, but we should not be too stubborn and ignore bigger opportunities. Bitcoin will no longer be able to bring x10, x100 or x1000 profits if we invest from now on. But with altcoins, this is possible and if someone is smart enough and confident in themselves, then why ignore such an opportunity when the bull season is approaching? Don't impose your thoughts on anyone.
You are not wrong, but at the same time how many people that invest in altcoins actually know what they are doing? If a person is an expert trader, without a doubt it would be a mistake to not take advantage of the opportunities they have right in front of them.

But the majority of those that invest in altcoins are not expert traders and instead they are noobs that cannot distinguish a scam from a good project, and people like that should concentrate on just finding the best coin they can and hold it for as long as they can.
This is the result of following influencers who encourage noobs to invest in the wrong project. Although some altcoins are still worth investing in but the majority are scam and shitcoins. This is too difficult to invest in crypto when we don't really have any idea what is all about, a lack of research nd understanding will certainly lead us to the wrong path. That is why I encourage newbies to consider studying the market as their top priority rather than looking for a gem because it is not difficult to choose a project to invest in when we have knowledge. And most importantly, we can't easily be fooled by scammers.
117  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gaming strategies on: April 25, 2024, 10:40:50 AM
Do you have favorite gaming strategies? Are there any effective approaches you know of that can be used in different games?
Different games, different strategies, and skills applications --of course, hoping for LUCK.
If you are gambling, you need to know on your own and find the best thing you can do because we can't say that if this particular strategy works on others, it will also work on you. No and the reason why is because it depends on the situation and your personal understanding.

If you are in card games --luck is what you need and less strategy
If you are in sports betting --just put your bets on your favorite team.
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 24, 2024, 01:29:54 PM

I don't see they are relying on Lebron too much, it's probably just the ball movement or the coach design, because if we look at the stats in game 2, their bench points are very low knowing they also have a good bench.

These players are not contributing with good numbers ...

 Prince 6 points
Vincent 0
Dinwiddie 0
Hayes 0

and even one of their starters Hachimura only scored    3 points in 37 minutes playing time.

And compared with the players of Nuggets where ball movement is really providing good touches for the players who are playing inside, they need to adjust and if possible to give those known players enough touches and good looks to shots and contribute for the game, not only for defensive purpose but also give them confidence taking those shots and not to just watch and wait for LeBron, Davis and DLo' if they will going to pass the ball and give them opportunities,

but instead rotate and show up to add threats to the opposing team, it will also create good space for those core players to make much easier shots and not to force and made an errors.

Nuggets have 5 players with double digit but the Lakers only have 3 (Lebron, AD, and Russell... What will happen if Russell will have a bad game as we all know his consistency is not reliable. I hope they'll find more scorers in game 3, maybe help Reaves improve his game too as he has been underperforming in the series so far.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proven many times holders won't regret on: April 24, 2024, 12:35:03 PM
~
However, until now I am also one of those people who cannot hold bitcoin for a long period of time. Even though I believe in promising profits, the economic situation is not yet supportive, I continue to use the investment money I have and always pass up this opportunity.
Holding without a good reason or goal, simply never works --it will be just an imagination.
Just like before, I really find it hard because of many temptations and sometimes I've been affected by my emotions and doubts. Because even in your mind you have trusted Bitcoin and believed that it would pump during the bull season but if never control your emotions, you still end up selling all your Bitcoin before ATH. And it was worse when doubts were still in your mind despite you see the potential of Bitcoin.
Quote
That's why altcoins are always my choice for short-term investing.
Be careful of your choice because not all altcoins are worth investing in.
120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lies told to cover up gambling habit on: April 24, 2024, 05:47:10 AM
A lie can be something good or naturally bad.
Sometimes we make some excuse and pretending of busy with something because of our gambling addiction. Sometimes we spend more time on this rather than having a good time with the family. Well, that was a few years back when our minds were in the box of imagining what would happen to us when we hit the jackpot.

It is probably most of us who are experiencing this one. Maybe some are telling their partners already while some do not and keep it secret.
But I don't suggest new gamblers to this especially if we have family already because this is also a reason why some couples separated. Must remain responsible and knows our priorities as well.
