101  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet virus on: January 08, 2018, 12:58:10 AM
Very strange Electrum 3.04 seems a phising link for me...They say to update but i can't read nothing on electrum official website.

This warning is written at the top of the electrum website home page. I don't know how you missed it.

https://electrum.org/#home

Quote
Security Notice: A vulnerability has been found in Electrum, and patched in version 3.0.5. Please update your software if you are running an earlier version

The release notes on the electrum github explain that version 3.0.4 didn't completely fix the vulnerability, so version 3.0.5 was quickly released a day later.

# Release 3.0.5 : (Security update)

This is a follow-up to the 3.0.4 release, which did not completely fix
issue #3374. Users should upgrade to 3.0.5.

102  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex Support? on: January 08, 2018, 12:49:15 AM
how to act?

- the account was frozen 3 weeks ago, the question was answered on the next day, the point is that IP was used compromised (I use the VPN), but after the first answer, the answer ceased

Poloniex says a VPN service might change your IP address in short intervals, which its website is programmed to recognise as malicious. All you can do is contact support and wait.

https://poloniex.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/1000244845-i-keep-getting-logged-out-why-is-this-happening-

You will be logged out if your IP address changes mid-session or if you login from another browser/computer. If you are using a VPN service, it is not uncommon for VPN providers to change your IP address in short intervals, causing you to disconnect.

You might also try asking what to do in the poloniex announcement thread.

Well 28 hours I guess isn't so bad. I have been waiting for over a week.

What coin are you waiting for to get refunded? Have you made a refund request through a support ticket?
104  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange with USD EUR GBP JPY CAD BTC LTC XRP NMC XDG STR ETH on: January 07, 2018, 09:15:43 PM
Hi Everyone! Please have a read about the new trading engine on our blog!!

We sincerely appreciate your patience. The wait is finally coming to an end.

So it was called off?

The live updating to the trade screen is still broken.  Is that the new state of things?  We went from things suck to things suck even more?

It seems like it. Their blog says they will make another attempt in the next few days, and the status page says the website still has degraded performance.

Quote
Note: In the process of performing final checks ahead of rollout, we discovered a problem in one of the system components. We have been unable to resolve the issue in the last 24 hours and expect to make another attempt after the issue has been resolved, in the next few days. We will make another announcement when we are ready.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Paymon - blockchain platform (start ICO 02.02.18) on: January 07, 2018, 08:51:20 PM
How to get Paymon? Is my first post in bitcointalk.

You can check the paymon website for information about bounties, or wait until 08 January for information about them to get posted here.

3. A topic with information about subscription company for bounty will be appear at 08 January 2018 . At the moment you can already participate in the bounty-company, all the information is on the site.

106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: January 07, 2018, 08:38:31 PM
I haven't kept updated on this coin. There was a problem with a fork a few years ago. Has it been resolved now?

Check the TIPS Hardfork FAQ from the OP.

HTH

Does the fork mean bter might still have a substantial number of fedoracoins that are spendable on both chains? Although bter said it would return all deposits before it closed it couldn't return fedoracoins to the new fork because it wasn't supporting it.

Cutting it close there, Bitcorn...
Remember, we want it _above_ $16k
Thanks dawg!

There's only 33 14 10 21 bitcorns holding it above $16k on bearstamp. Will the wall hold?
109  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum popup + current vulnerability coincedence? on: January 07, 2018, 08:03:19 PM
What exchange did you send to? Was it a well known one or a small one. Your browser window appears to show there's only one tab open. Did your browser redirect from your exchange page to that scam page?

Electrum has never shown me web popup ads.

Where did you download your electrum wallet from, and did you pgp verify it was the authentic wallet installer and not a fake?

If you still have the installer try scanning it using this website to check if it's clean.

A coin designed for B2B payments called B2B Coin launched on August 17, 2017. What makes TraDove B2B superior to it?

This is the B2B Coin announcement thread.

Doesn't China's crackdown on cryptocurrencies affect this coin?

Bitcoin is losing ground for good.

Get the fuck out of here.

114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.10.0 on: January 07, 2018, 06:54:01 PM
Now that DOGE coin is massive and not a joke anymore does anyone know if the developers are taking the advancement of DOGE seriously? I.E. do they have plans to take the coin mainstream and compete with the bigger coins?

Only reason Im asking because if they are working behind the scenes to take the coin seriously the price can skyrocket if they go main stream

Dogecoin was created as a joke, and always mean't to be a joke. It was bigger during its ATH at 300 sats than it is now, but it was still a joke. I hope it's never taken too seriously even if it goes main stream.
115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2018, 06:29:08 PM
Is there a chart that shows the amount of fiat moving into crypto?

It's not a chart, but this is the closest thing I know of.

The cryptopia wallet is online, and it's no surprise that yobit's is offline. Wallets are often offline at yobit.

119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2018, 05:57:52 PM
Dear Bitcorn,

Hi! I know, we don't talk much anymore. I'm semi-retired, and you're big time now. But listen.

We would all be really tickled if you'd stay above $16k.

Don't want to seem ungrateful, but like jojo says, we have mouths to feed. Food for thought.

Seems like it is doing the same pattern it did starting in Jan, maybe there is hope Tongue

Well it's dropped below $16000, but maybe it will start the upwards climb again after the weekend dump.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electrum Litecoin wallet vulnerability on: January 07, 2018, 04:43:07 PM
This is serious. I wonder what other vulnerabilities lurk in all those source codes of the various altcoin forks. I keep my stuff on separate VMs already to mitigate some attack surface.

Keeping an Electrum Litecoin wallet on a VM won't mitigate this vulnerability. The only 100% safe way to mitigate it is to keep your wallet offline until you can upgrade to an updated version.
