What sort of camera were you taking the selfies with? Someone else had the same problem and solved it by paying a professional photographer to take a picture with top of the range equipment.

Thanks for replying.

I am also seeing the future of Doge Coin is bright at present this coin is at $0.017. In the next one year it mat go upto $1.

It has a 300 sat ATH and I'm speculating it might go that high again during 2018.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RIP ripple Ethereum is Taking back to moon on: January 08, 2018, 06:51:48 AM
Ripple is doing a correction, most likely will go up again, i would wait to declare it dead.

It's done moves like that before. After a pump it crashes, then starts pumping even higher. You can never predict when the real crash will happen.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Cryptopia Exchange Safe and Legit? on: January 08, 2018, 06:11:00 AM
personally, I think cryptopia is safe and legit and I was surprised to know that they have a big trader inside that site. I think it is normal if they shut down the registration because maybe they cannot handle a new customer that is bigger than they thought. but I hope that in one day, they will open new registrations for people so other people can try to trade on their site. I have good experiences too with them and now I still trade with them besides use poloniex and bittrex.

I guess a lot of other traders switched from poloniex and bittrex to cryptopia. Poloniex and bittrex's new verification rules and bad service probably gave traders little choice but to go to cryptopia, and now cryptopa is starting to struggle supporting so many users.
85  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 08, 2018, 05:46:14 AM
Bitcoin is holding nice and steady at $15k+
I am still very content and am mostly surprised about big altcoins losing this morning (but scattered throughout the market) and little alts flying.

The markets are changing...

Bitcoin's testing $16000 again. Now the weekend's over, it's Monday afternoon in Korea, and bitcoin might start pumping again.

Is there a date for the new fork yet?
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin in 2018 will see the clues on: January 08, 2018, 05:27:08 AM
bitcoin has stabilized from last month and some have decreased. for the year it will probably explode, but instead of exploding to go down, I think it exploded to pump hard and could reach 20k - 25k usd.

It's not mainstream yet, but it's starting the journey towards it. If it does go mainstream it could reach a million dollars a coin. I doubt it will reach that price in 2018, but it might go higher than most people expect.

Hi. I have been browsing coinmarketcap and see some good looking coins that are listed on Cryptopia. But, are they safe to use? I am in the United States and wonder if they follow all of the regulations and rules? Just wondering if anyone in the USA has any experience bitcoin trading on this exchanger? Thanks Smiley

Level 2 verification is pending for a quite a while. They are very slow and absolutely no customer support, which sucks!

They can't cope with the sheer number of new registrations. They say it had reached half a million new registrations a month before they stopped accepting new users, This is a letter the founders posted in their news section to explain the reason for the poor service and apologise.

Letter From The Founders
My name is Rob Dawson, or probably better known as "Hex", and I am one of the two Co-Founders of Cryptopia. Adam ("sa_ddam213") and I started Cryptopia as a hobby, largely due to our own negative experiences with other exchanges and a desire to build the website that we ourselves wanted to use. 6 months into development we founded and incorporated Cryptopia as a company, and after 12 months of development the site went live into production for the first time in December 2014. For the first 2 years the company consisted soley of Adam and myself, working our regular full times jobs and dedicating our spare time and income to Cryptopia, and while we were proud of our growth and what we were achieving it was not even a drop compared to what we've experienced in the last 6 months, let lone the last week. Roughly this time last year Adam and I being well into having quit our jobs to work on Cryptopia full time and running low on savings and resources had a very real conversation about whether or not we should shut Cryptopia down, we had a modest 30,000 users, with an average of 2,000 concurrent user sessions at any given time, and averaged about 300 BTC in trade volume a day; we were proud of what we had achieved, but at the time it simply wasn't sustainable with our dwindling resources.

Obviously we didn't shut down Cryptopia in January 2017, thanks to an investment we were able to keep pushing through. By the 1st of December we hit 500,000 users. On the 31st of December we hit 1,000,000 users. By the 3rd of January we hit 1,100,000 users. By the 4th of January even with registrations disabled for 3 hours, we hit 1,200,000 users. With registrations paused again we're now sitting at 1,400,000 users. We've gone from just 2 people to over 50 people including contractors and consultants and we're looking to at the very least double that as soon as we can, but that also brings with it its own set of hurdles. I mention all of this only to give context as I would like to acknowledge the complaints and concerns about our level of service. We are aware that our level of service has been suffering, but that is not due to any complacency on our part, rest assured that we are hiring people, and developing the processes to manage those people to grow with the demand we're facing and scale as best as we can. Please bear with us, as we know how frustrating it can be for users involved in issues impacting their ability to transact freely, but we're in an unprecedented time with adoption and interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain surging and Cryptopia is dedicated to being a quality service provider in this evolving landscape.

Thank you for supporting Cryptopia and being a part of our community.

Novaexchange is briefly closing down, then reopening under new ownership. The owners have stopped new registrations because they are selling it to someone else.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DASH out of Top10 CoinMarketCap and Why i Think CMC is Funny! on: January 08, 2018, 04:55:59 AM
The volume is just as important as the market cap. If a coin jumps to the top of coinmarketcap on extremely low volume it won't stay at the top for long. I noticed a few coins briefly reach the top and almost instantly crash back down to the bottom. Market cap alone is a dubious measure of success, but combined with volume it's more useful.

total supply of coins? And I did not find the highlights of it

Hi! Constellation will have 7 billion coins.

Are all those coins premined like in nxt, or will they be mined like in bitcoin?
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARCBLOCK this coin is Great? on: January 08, 2018, 04:27:54 AM
what is this shit? no information?

The OP should have posted this link to its announcement thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2699379

It's only three pages long so far, and there's not much information in it yet.
94  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken Withdrawal Issues on: January 08, 2018, 03:56:51 AM
Kraken and Coinbase both have degraded services as a result of so much traffic using their services.  This has been going on since late December.  They both say they are working to upgrade their respective services and that should be accomplished shortly but who knows in reality how long it's going to be?  It's a frustrating situation.

The kraken was trying to do a major system upgrade while the OP was trying to withdraw. The upgrade didn't work and was postponed for a few more days.

Perhaps if the OP cancels his withdrawal and tries to make another it will work the second time. Bearing in mind that by all accounts every button click on the kraken can take hours to get processed.

Note: In the process of performing final checks ahead of rollout, we discovered a problem in one of the system components. We have been unable to resolve the issue in the last 24 hours and expect to make another attempt after the issue has been resolved, in the next few days. We will make another announcement when we are ready.
95  Economy / Exchanges / Re: YoBit BTC deposit on: January 08, 2018, 03:39:55 AM
so i made a BTC deposit on yobit and according to the transaction id the transaction is completed and confirmed

https://blockchain.info/tx/1df7630e617e507f462fdfa03cb0b54e456f2ae2662db009b6945af3e968482e

but it's not showing in my YoBit wallet
On the website there is even a "pending deposit" box which content says "You have no incoming deposits"

so i am really worying right now, because the BTC wallet on Yobit says the following, when i press on the deposit button

even tho my account is comletely new (since today), was i supposed to hit "obtain new adress" button, because i didn't do that
but that would not makes sense, because i just created the account and it should give me correct "new BTC adress" right away...

can anyone help me?

The coins haven't moved out of the yobit address you sent them to. Perhaps the yobit bitcoin wallet is out of sync with the network.

That warning from yobit is probably for people who haven't accessed their account in a long time. They often send coins to an exchange address they made a note of years ago, only to find out it was compromised afterwards.

After bitstamp was hacked it issued a similar warning about not depositing to old addresses because a hacker could access them.

Hopefully your deposit should show in your yobit account later today when they have fixed whatever problem they have.

This might mean nothing, but I searched for a few of those addresses from the OP in walletexplorer, which is a site that guesses which service owns an address. It probably uses taint analysis.

It said a few of those addresses were part of a wallet it calls MtGoxAndOthers. These are three such addresses.

I don't know how reliable walletexplorer's guesses are, and I'm only speculating it uses taint analysis to make its guesses. Walletexplorer couldn't guess where most of the small fraction of addresses I checked from the OP came from, it only guessed those three.

However, I only checked a small fraction of the list, I don't have time to check them all. Also the coins sent to all three addresses were sent after February 2014 when Mt. Gox had closed and filed for bankruptcy protection.

I don't understand how walletexplorer guessed that an address unused before Mt. Gox closed could belong to "MtGoxAndOthers" based on a transaction sent after its closure. Maybe it's because "MtGoxAndOthers" is a very vague name.

97  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Security Issue with Electrum Wallet on: January 08, 2018, 02:30:59 AM
no need to be complicated just use Electrum 304 which is fixed...

Thank you very much for your reply!

It's now version 3.0.5 you need to upgrade to. They rushed version 3.0.4 then a day later discovered the bug wasn't completely fixed in it.
98  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Locked out of electrum 2.5.1 on: January 08, 2018, 01:23:23 AM
Thanks for the recommendation! As I said, it's my understanding that odds are that nothing can be done in this situation but I can only hope that maybe I can recover my coins and pay off my student loans Smiley

Can you remember anything about the password like if it used English words, or numbers, or how long it was? A few details like that is all the guy that runs the service needs.

There's no hope if you used software to generate a 50 character password that included special characters and was completely random.

Sorry folks, I tired to talk her up. The Bitcorn, she don't listen to me no more. Embarrassed

She's teasing you, she keeps going up above $16k, then back down again.

You might consider asking the guy who started this thread for help.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=240779.0

He runs a business cracking forgotten wallet passwords using sophisticated hardware and software. Read the feedback he has been given and make up your own mind if you are prepared to trust him with your wallet file.

He can't crack extremely strong long random passwords, but if your password was fairly simple he might be able to crack it.
