101  Other / Meta / Re: Alternate crypto is huge on: January 02, 2014, 02:15:47 PM
It's not going to happen. The alt-coin section exists so there's a place to throw discussion about alt-coins, because otherwise it'd be spread out all over the board.
Fail! It happend.

well, they just divided thread by "spam type".
It's still the same mess and actually I expected a much stronger line from bitcointalk
102  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If I am selling BTC on localbitcoins is it safe to accept cash deposit? on: January 02, 2014, 02:12:41 PM
When I have to meet people I usually set the meeting inside my local branch, banks have so many cameras, if I feel I am still not secure enough I ask the guy to deposit the money in my bank account!
No way I can get scammed this way Tongue
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The SEC Shows Why Bitcoin is Doomed. on: January 02, 2014, 02:09:02 PM
Bitcoin's value is backed by all the infrastructure investments in mining operations, you can copy the source code, but you can never copy the hardware infrastructure

Since the essential of bitcoin is a consensus that people around the world using one currency with fixed limited money supply, any addition of other cryptocurrencies will just inflate the money supply and make that experiment more and more close to fiat money, which is not interesting. Majority of people will come back to bitcoin when they finally realize this

Litecoin could work as a backup in case the bitcoin failed, but since bitcoin is not unchangeable, when an extinction level event occur, miners around the world will agree to switch to a new protocol, so it is almost immortal

I disagree with you and I think you actually contradicted yourself.
We will never ever see Bitcoin changing from SHA256 to scrypt.
ASICs are the real value behind Bitcoin right?
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which now big altcoin is gonna fail in 2014? on: January 02, 2014, 01:55:56 PM
Which altcoins that are now big (Top 30 market cap) are gonna fail in 2014?

Please give reasons, if possible.

I start with:

- Ripple (reason scam)
- NxT (reason scam)
- MasterCoin (reason scam)
- Feathercoin (no traction, small community, no innovation)
- Worldcoin (no traction, never saw any thread/info about this coin anywhere)
- Novacoin (no traction, never saw any thread/info about this coin anywhere)

Remove Ripple, it's not an alt, it's a different system.
Add to the list:
doge
digitalcoin
franko
.
.
.
all coins created last year after April bubble

109  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Bitcoin be able to Kill the Bank-System ? on: December 30, 2013, 12:18:00 PM

110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When was "mining" term first used? on: December 30, 2013, 12:00:59 PM
From wikipedia:

The oldest known mine on archaeological record is the "Lion Cave" in Swaziland, which radiocarbon dating shows to be about 43,000 years old.

Do ypu think dinosaurs mined as well?
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will any alt coin reach 1000$? on: December 30, 2013, 11:57:34 AM
LTC is the only one capable or reaching $1000in a near-ish future.
If the btc trend applies it will happen in 1-2 years

115  Local / Mining (Italiano) / Re: pool o solo ? quale conviene? on: December 27, 2013, 01:16:41 PM
116  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is it possible to put everyone in a single large mining pool? on: December 27, 2013, 02:59:42 AM
Is it possible to put everyone in a single large mining pool, and share mining reward equally among miners based on hash power and shares.

Yes you can but you should also trust the mining pool owner
Why do you want to use a decentralized system in a centralized way? Think about it...
117  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Urgent 7950 on: December 26, 2013, 02:50:53 PM

118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin will be the best investment for 2014? (Newb Edition) on: December 25, 2013, 03:06:10 AM
I voted LTC because:
A) first scrypt dedicated mining solutions should arrive to the market
B) mt.gox will eventually add it
C) it's far behind its 0.25 LTC/BTC ideal ratio

WDC can grow much more (trend is actually down after announcement)
119  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin stolen from news anchor on live TV on: December 25, 2013, 02:56:42 AM
