101  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Life of Bitcoin Enthusiast on: May 20, 2024, 05:13:00 PM
No be lie. I remember reading online years back say bitcoin na bubble and e go soon burst, like scatter and disappear meaning any body wey get bitcoin go lose him money. Na this kind gist make some big players in world economics and investment like Warren Buffet no let person hear word that time. The journey no easy until some financial institution begin accept bitcoin and some other crypto as payment method before the awareness and popularity begin grow. Some companies like Microsoft self, PayPal follow up increase confidence in hodling bitcoin and since then the price don dey stable for up there. Bitcoin journey na wetin don give people hope not to lose hope as we see say las las bitcoin don dey sitted well now na to dey increase in price.
102  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I want law and order back on: May 20, 2024, 04:41:09 PM
I think I have heard of less corrupt practices in Canada. So a country that has lesser corruption going on their then there will also be minimal uprising, protest and all other vices that will lead to face off with law enforcement agencies so they won't need to be in the street as such. This is the reason that you may be witnessing that more serene habitation in Canada.

Orderliness is akin to obedience and tranquility. But a corrupt government leads people into distrust and nothing is believed when it comes to government policies and that is seen as disobedience and government would want to enforce orders. We have more of chaotic environment in countries where there is corruption because human being is sensible enough to know when they are being cheated and they have tendency of revolt against oppressors but if a country's government is sincere with the people, they don't have any cause for agitation and organized crime. So it is more difficult to implement laws than to enact them because of the resistance it will meet.
103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Os boxing the worst sport to get on? on: May 20, 2024, 03:15:37 PM
I know of the entertainment with WWF but not boxing and now news about the fun game and arranged fight is beginning to enclose that sport that looks like serious fighting sport. I don't know if we are still going to see that in kick boxing, rugby and other physical games. I have not bet on boxing but I sure like the fight because it looks serious and now that the corruption is getting into public space, it may begin to get discouraging.
104  Economy / Economics / Re: Idea of btc is genius the limited supply that's why i think it's safe heaven on: May 20, 2024, 01:37:30 PM

So the btc are for those who want to be rich and stay rich.

You don't stay rich with bitcoin but you have access to being rich with bitcoin if you are Hodling bitcoin. So the value is placed on the price and how many you have but once sold then such access is taken from you and transferred to another person who buys and hodl. That is the point and to say bitcoin can make someone rich is subjective depending on what the proceed is used for and that is same access to being rich that I was talking about.
105  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Telegram records millions of new users due to Crpto mining. on: May 20, 2024, 11:23:01 AM

Well the government might be against Cryptocurrency but currently the youths have totally embarrassed it cause lots of people are making profits from it therefore it would be quite difficult for the Nigerian government to totally ban Cryptocurrency cause Nigerians would always find a way to go about it. But then everyone needs to be careful cause there would lots of scam sites on telegram claiming to be mining projects and lots of ignorant people would lose funds to scammers

I don't know whether they will also dream of banning telegram too for this influx and say it is causing Naira to fall.

However like you talk about being careful, yes we need to dey careful with telegram mining now that notcoin has done a great job with it because some scam go begin come into it with other mining activities. This scam fit no be only money but dem fit begin steal people data through fake KYC requirements. The thing to watch out for na when them begin do different from wetin notcoin do then dat one should be red flag.
106  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Do Airdrop tel buy bitcon on: May 20, 2024, 09:21:12 AM

Also remember the risk wey dey Airdrop, use separate wallet for Airdrop, observe well before you do anyone bcos some na waste of time.

That waste of time na im be the thing wey dey discouraging and you no fit know the one wey go give you that cash out, that is the challenge for airdrops. Some dey stressful to the extent that you will get tired of dem because you go need to do different assignment, move from one wallet to the other which may be tiring and at the end that project fit no enter market, dem go just carry presale money waka.

Anyway, the thing about airdrops be say you no know the one wey you go take cash out on. Like dem dey talk for proverb say nobody sabi the womb wey go born king and that is why there is no harm in trying but e dey difficult to determine good project make I no lie.

Yes people don cash out better money from notcoin and ice as I hear say some too before dem this year. That notcoin be like it will do well as e get things and things with ton, e dey inside ton ecosystem.
107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are confident with your picks, do you win most of the time? on: May 20, 2024, 06:48:12 AM
I tried an experiment by just recording my picks and then betting the opposite of my analysis. Surprisingly, this resulted in profitable betting.

It happens sometimes that you get tired of losing and frustrated that you try out many options and this seem like one but it is not profitable all the time. If you get a right prediction and bet on it, it will fail.

But are we comfortable with betting against our own picks just for the sake of fading ourselves strategy?

Some gamblers also lost hope in their analysis and started betting against it and after winning few times, they started getting their analysis right and when they bet against it they started losing. You understand what that means?

It means you have not been getting your analysis right which is why you bet against it and get it correct. Check this then, what will make you bet wrongly and win? You can only bet rightly for you to win.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 19, 2024, 09:19:50 PM
For too many reasons it is foolish to borrow money to gamble. I don’t like borrow money and even when I do, I can’t risk it because you may try to be smart to double it and you end up giving the money to the casino like it’s charity and you will still have to pay up for money you never used to achieve anything meaningful. Gambling should be done out of your pocket and an amount you can afford to lose.

Such control takes alot of emotional balance before you can achieve this. OP didn't list emotion in his roll call in the list of those golden rule to gamble and emotion is important because if you lack emotional balance then most of the valid points listed won't be achieved.

Like this (3) DON'T SPEND MORE MONEY THAN YOU CAN AFFORD, it takes someone who is balanced emotionally not to chase back loses when they happen because I have seen instances where small loses led to huge loses as the gambler kept trying his luck while losing. So being emotionally balanced is also important in gambling.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What need to follow to play the stress free gambling game on: May 19, 2024, 06:04:11 PM

This was the first thing to avoid the stress after the loss, the second one was playing the gambling with less capital. If you get 500$ free money, use only the 100$ to the gambling,So use the remaining money for the trading on cryptocurrency and for your family expenses.

Well this can only work for gamblers who are not addict or regular players. Most addict will feel when they will that they can try more to multiply their winning. So the thought of keeping part for the family may look very small, they may want to increase it and that is where the regret will come. However, to diversify winning is a good gambling idea because to depend on just gambling winnings can be disastrous since there are lucky days and bad days for a gambler.

If it multiple it may goes to the value of 100$.But they hard forgot the biggest loss of 10$ in a single betting.Using that 10 dollars he can bet on the ten different bet using 10 times, the possibility of 1/10 and 10/10 had huge difference.Because the game with ten bets will allow you to multiple more than ten times.

Multiple bet is profitable when you win because of the numbers of games whose odds would be multiplied together and you get an increase potential unlike the single or few games but it also has it down side which is that it can easily go wrong than the single bet because of the numbers of the games in the bet.
110  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: My encounter using Bitcoin with a nearby farmer/trader in my area on: May 19, 2024, 04:23:50 PM

" She said that her son and daughter had taught her.

She must have been young mother and quite intelligent. She has an open mind and receptive to technology and that's why she allowed herself to be thought by the children. Not many mothers will allow themselves such learning process and this is actually a win for bitcoin because if older generation are already adopting it then the younger generation will have more numbers that will join the progress of bitcoin.

I believe we should always work to educate those around us about bitcoin so they are ready to defend themselves even against scammers.

Yes there is no limit to having the knowledge of bitcoin, the woman who is a farmer has shown example that it is the mind that will allow you go through the process of learning. There are some youths that fear to invest in bitcoin because they feel it is scam.
111  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial fact that the authorities would not want you to know. on: May 19, 2024, 07:18:44 AM
The point here is people should be proactive and not to be nonchalant. Of course to have a next of kin in your bank credit card or in the bank whatsoever should not just end there. If you start having some substantial amount in the bank, you should be able to plan for the inevitable and who gets what which is why some knowledgeable people write their will while alive. Writing of will, you would have also gone through your lawyer to facilitate all access to bearers while you are alive and at that point you would have also gone through the banks to know what to do not to encumber your next of kin.

The point is if you have money in bank then you should be able to be making enquiries. If you ask the banks what and what to do regarding your money when you die, they will tell you but when you keep quiet, you won't get such information.

Yes I watched the video and I also saw that if you make such enquiry, you would be given a POD form (payable on death). So you can facilitate all those while alive but the challenge is people keep indifferent about certain things.

112  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Social media account as KYC requirement? (2) on: May 19, 2024, 06:11:28 AM

today it's just Nigeria doing this. maybe there will be no resistance but by doing this in Europe or America, people will refuse to agree on this.

Those are more democratic countries that will listen to their people because they actually understand that they are there to do the wish and mandate of the people but here in Nigeria that those in government were forced on the people, they only do the bid of their people. They don't follow the rule of law and the people's right to protest against bad policies, rather when you disagree and protest, you risk losing your life. This is how it is here and so people will only swallow different hard pills coming from government.

To my bafflement, I don't see how all these stiffness will take the Nigerian economy to because they have left substance to be chasing shadow. The Naira that they they are protecting and banning Naira dollar P2P keep falling everyday. Now the exchange is at 1540 per $, but they are still chasing KYC that doesn't add up to economic growth.
113  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: invest for Capital preservation and capital appreciation: on: May 18, 2024, 07:16:37 PM

Let's talk about how your investment plan will look like if Bitcoin should revolve around $100k to $120k over a long period of time. Would you still continue buying for the purpose of preserving your capital for the long run or would a reduction in the upward volatility of Bitcoin cause you to reduce the pace of your DCA or stacking?

Usually not many investors will want to hodl their bitcoin after they observe say price don begin drop. Therefore, even DCA no go market again because most go want withdraw from investing at least initially when the price begin to drop because if price begin drop it may get to a very ridiculous price before it will regain stability and probably begin go up, nobody want make him investment begin drop. But if with time price stabilize over some time then people go enter again. So surely when there is reduction in price, investors go out of market and that is why price dey drop more at such times until it will pick again.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My favorite loser on: May 18, 2024, 06:33:53 PM
The strategy is good and not the first time that gamblers use that skill. When you talk about betting against favourite loser, you can also have it as favourite winner so anytime you see that winner in the game then you bet in his favour. Like if you look in soccer, the strategy also work when you consider clubs head to head, away or home and other options to see what options best fit for the stake. Some clubs are difficult to defeat at home and for certain clubs playing against them at home they have not lost, so that will be a better research and analysis before staking. Regards to having a best loser or winner, that is not in tennis but in soccer
115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price predictions gone silence since the DIP. on: May 18, 2024, 05:53:26 PM

Who has observed that the speculations and predictions  of Bitcoin price has gone silence since the market went DIP after the halving?

There is no reason to worry that the speculations have been silent, it is normal. If bull turns to bear and a slow steady market, it also usually slow the market sentiment and noise. Why you will see this noise settling down is because the bull came sometime before the halving and that hype has died down for now but definitely the price will raise above the current ATH even beyond our expectations.

One of the major reason that the price must raise is that, it is traditional for btc price to increase beyond existing ATH after halving, so that has not happened. The current ATH happened before halving and so we are about to see an ATH caused because of the phenomenon of halving which is block splitting and reward for miners. So it is not a ruse that price will increase before the next ATH in 4 years time.
116  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can democracy really work here in Africa on: May 18, 2024, 09:51:36 AM
Democracy is a form of government characterized by by majority role in which the power to choose their leaders is solely put in the hands of the masses . Democracy is characterized by some unique qualities like free and fair election with with duration of been in power and respect for rule of law

This is one key institution that makes the difference in democracy but it is obviously missing in African societies. First you need to have a genuine democratically elected government through the ballot. Even though no society is perfect and in the light of this, African governments are suppose to strive to get to the level of same democratic system that other countries have and then certain norma will be seen as an aberration to stand practice all over the world. There is no rule of law in all African society. Head of states in these countries are like gods that their words are order instead of constitution becoming the fundamentals of laws. And so these putrid abnormalities solidify corruption in all spheres of the economy by the cronies of government officials while social amenities become inachievable like because monies have been embezzled. It is a sad story in Africa, causing masses to escape to other countinent for job and good standard of living therefore increase braindrain becomes the tale of the African continent.
117  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What if an exchange refuse? on: May 18, 2024, 07:33:14 AM
What can do the government do?

No go think am. Centralised exchanges just be like social media na and business wey get identify, not like say ownership is hidden or not known like decentralised coin wey you no fit trace to one person. So their server will be hosted, that one alone go make dem lose other businesses for the country, plus dem go face litigation in and outside the country. The same thing wey happen with twitter (X) go happen to centralised exchanges, that is why them no get choice than to obey the government wey dem dey under. Government self go block all their ads through all the social media and even search engine like Google and many others operating in Nigeria go make every of their search or information unavailable, otherwise the government go also restrict that search engine if them too no comply. Government dey do strong thing. To be a sovereign nation mean say you get authority to control your territory and jurisdiction both from air, land or sea, that is why during war or certain conflict, a country can declare no fly (flight) zone for their airspace and if a plane on such restriction go against that military command, they will bring it down.
118  Economy / Economics / Re: The SELF and Development in the society. on: May 17, 2024, 09:48:41 PM
Are you actually saying there is a whole lot of displaced priority in the society? That people don't study into the profession that they want and desire that perhaps getting a wrong choice of course of study is one of the reason that the society is not properly shaped which also reflects into the economy. Most people really wait to study the profession of their frame of work. Yes it is important to study a course that you already have desire in, because it will be easier for you to understand and you will also be happy with yourself which will reflect in your contribution to the society.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you feel when you experience violence while gambling on: May 17, 2024, 03:00:51 PM

This idea gave me the impression that some people can be very dangerous as a result of lossing money while gambling And i aslo learnt My lessons today . However, i Dont know If you have actually experienced such things At the betting shops And If yes How do you feel or react At the situation? .

Of course it happens all the time with off line betting. Most P2P betting end up like that and that is why some mature mind don't like that kind of face betting, they rather bet directly with the
agent. Again mature gamblers avoid such embarrassment by going online where you don't have physical contact with anyone before betting. If you bet through P2P then there is possibility of having such experience. I have witnessed such but not involved in it.
120  Other / Off-topic / Re: In the EPL, vote against VAR. on: May 17, 2024, 11:40:22 AM
Technology is introduced to enhance performance and when that technology is now in doubt as to it performance or not then you will have divided opinion, this is what the status of VAR is today in football in general not just in EPL. However, EPL will be voting whether to continue using it by next season or not and clubs are going to be involved in this, fans are already against VAR telling their clubs to vote to scrap it out. It is in the news that Klopp has also said that it should be scrapped out. For me, I think VAR slows down the game and some referees too get biase about using it properly.
