1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker strategies on: September 13, 2023, 10:40:24 PM
You're quite correct; discussing ways to improve one's poker skills may be very advantageous for both players and the poker community as a whole. Openly exchanging information not only aids players in their development but also promotes a sense of community among poker lovers. Players can improve their skills collectively through these interactions, which makes the poker world more exciting and competitive. Consider joining debates where players may openly exchange knowledge and experiences in order to advance as a community of poker enthusiasts.
I'd love to hear from fellow game enthusiasts about cheating. Grin
While bluffing can be effective, it should be used sparingly and strategically. Overuse of bluffing can lead to losses.
I believe bluffing is a kind of strategy and it doesn't guarantee winning especially if your opponent is aware of it, which is fair I guess. Also, its efficiency depends on the player who does it which is why I cannot see it as cheating, 'coz if it is, it should be applicable to anyone who would do it on the actual game.
To improve poker game. One must know the basics of how to play poker game. Study poker strategies, different hands in poker, probabilities. Practice reading opponents.
I agree with everything you said. Reading your opponents and how they react but this is hard when you're playing poker online but when you do this offline and you're in front of each other, you'll have to do the art of reading their reactions and faces as it will help you decide.

Alot of patience and clamness. It involves both skills psychological and risk management.
Together with reading them, you have to be patient and calm so that's right as well. You'll need to be patient as you wait for how they move and as you observe them whether they're like a bluff guy or a risk taker or just folds when they don't have a strong card.
Improving your poker habits doesn't only mean knowing rhe game more but also improvising what you have saw in it. Perhaps with poker, it was originally just being played as is but as time goe by card reading, bluffing, reading your opponents' reaction and such, were now being used to dominate opponents in this game.
1002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big capital, small risk or small capital big risk - which is best approach? on: September 13, 2023, 04:33:48 PM
Always go with the lesser risk. No matter how big or small your capital is, as long as your margin of risk is high, it would be gone in an instant especially if you won't be lucky at that moment you gamble.
I don't feel if I'm a gambler when I use big capital to take small risk, this is why I prefer to bet small capital to take big risk. When you're win by taking small risk, you're already expecting you will win and it's not fun. The bookie, other gambler, fans and everyone else know if the favorite will win.

But when the underdog is win, you will feel excited and satisfied if you're have a good skill to predict.
In some instances, it indeed works to other gamblers as well. Rhey put small amount and engage to big risk 'coz for them if it lose then they won't have any problem with it however if things would be caught off guard, then those small amounts would be huge by repitition. It won't be called with high risk if the chance of winning is more likely to happen, right? Anyway, we should work on our gambling styles for things to work better on this indusrry, including players.
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Friendly wagers in Bitcointalk on: September 12, 2023, 06:29:54 PM
We call this on my area as peer or mutual betting/gambling wherein you'd bet against your friend's guess. As far as I know this would work only if your opponent bettor would be trustworthy enough to pay when he/she looses. This would be hard to imply with virtual platform but  we just don't have that much of 'power' to force them to pay whether they like it or not as a consequence of their losing bet. If you would be able to find a good midman, then that would be better.
Yeahhhh, this is actually a Normal thing between folks yunno... sometimes, you really wanna prove the fact that one person is usually bluffing over his statements all the time, and that you're always right about it; most especially to some of your peeps that enjoys arguing incessantly... I remember the good old days my older cousins would just have to gamble, topple Thier adversaries, get 'em cash and shop lollipops, chewing gums, biscuits, Burgers etc...for everyone ( including the original owners of the money) lol....it was that interesting though.
P/s; encountered moments where the owner would feel like getting rebellious, but that ain't happening... This people are way more stronger and dominant...lol

Sandra 🧑‍🦰
Indeed, midman could also become a problem so better choose the best ones you can trust. Even if he/she is the platform owner, we cannot disregard the negative chance of being ran off with your money.
1004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling beginners must not joke with casino announcement on: September 12, 2023, 05:48:01 PM
A quick warning to all gambling beginners, the most attractive ways that scam gambling websites get to you is bonuses and undeniable offers, I can see some new online casinos coming up with attracting bonuses to make you deposit some money and gamble, while they still have no reputation build yet but the offers are too good to the eye that you want to try it out, be cautious.

New casinos also comes with baggages likes

1. Experiencing several issues like game loading or lagging.

2. Experiencing errors when trying to deposit or make withdrawal.

3. Lower withdrawal limits.

4. Limited currencies accepted, most prefer Fiat still.

5. Lack of games collection due to limited software providers.

6. Lack of online reviews about them, some even have their ways with fake reviews.

If you want try them out then make sure that they have an announcement thread opened on the Bitcointalk forum, few new casinos made it to the forum and still turn scam, they are been dealt with by raising an alarm and red tagging their account, This spreads information all over the forum and outside the forum, at least many are saved from becoming the next victim.

Compare this to if the new casino has no Bitcointalk ANN, it will take time before many people know that the casino is already scamming their users, on the long run, the casino must have made a handful of money from scamming their customers.

Information is very vital when dealing with new online casinos this days.
I still don't get the idea of making fun of announcements in gambling sites and getting scammed by those site. Bur if you are talking about how gambling sites are promoting their platform (*take note that there are many gambling sites that are surfacing the webs already), which also means these sites would make things possible by offering discounts and convincing advertismenta to have an edge over established ones in this industry. Unfortunately, it would be hard determining legit ones to fraud unless they actually show it to their users or not until many players become victims already.
I thought you're talking about gambling addiction and stuff, but nope.

Actually this kind problem is happen in every centralized exchange that related with money, it's no matter what's the business or service is. Centralized exchange, robot trading, cloud mining, investment company, P2P lending, casino etc are always the scam related to ponzi scheme or pyramid scheme.
By just reading the title, I know that it wasn't about gambling addiction, but as the title says it was about a casino announcement. It might be common but there are still users who can't seem to behave well. They still keep making a joke about it, and that is why they got in trouble. What's crazy is they put the blame to the casino themselves.

By the way we are talking about gambling site here not exchange but no doubt that an exchange do also have their own announcement. It's important. This is where we know if there is a change or new additions in the platform that we are using. Being centralized does not automatically mean that they are now a scam, but among the activities that you said it was cloud mining is the one that are shady.
Making a joke is different from not paying attention. They have their own reasons in the first place so the only thing we could do is to share information to them and it depends on thwm whether to take it seriously or just ignore those warnings.
1005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You Manage Your Adrenaline Rush In Gambling? on: September 12, 2023, 05:15:52 PM
In that kind of situation, I will move my main funds to somewhere else and gamble with only the amount I've got from my profits. Also, I'll make sure not to overdo it. Because when you are in an adrenaline rush, your mind won't work the same. Setting a budget and not going over it helps too. And it's all about diverting your mind from one thing to another.

Dopamine detox is a thing. You can search that up on the internet and learn how to do it. I've learned from my research that splashing your face with ice-cold water does the same thing and gives you a rush. It's the same feeling that you get after using cocaine. (I haven't tried any drugs so can't tell the feelings). It quickly boosts the dopamine release and cools down fast. So you get the rush but not for long. This helps to focus your brain on something else. One good thing that I have is ADHD. So I keep something that I need to do later. If there is any situation in which I need to redirect my mind, I look around and try to focus my mind on something else. This helps too LOL.
Cold water indeed works but on my end, I am just turning off my device and just doing other things to calm me down. I never experienced an increase in andrenaline and ending up with huge win 'coz most of the time whenever emotions are taking over your gambling habits, you'd be too eager and frustrated to win, pushing you to your limits and disregarding how huge your losses already. I often play basketball just to keep me away from my PC (where I gamble) or cook something to divert my attention. I regret before winning the jackpot and having a 'rush' which just burnt all of those winnings. This is something we cannot simply control but starting little by little would help you or us to be more mindful of gambling  habits and player's limitation.
1006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does an online Foodbetting site sound? on: September 12, 2023, 04:36:08 PM
This is possible as long as it would get enough popularity and community to sustain its existence in this industry. Keep in mind that anything could be gambled of; presidency or election, gender of a baby (?), or even dates of significant events. As long as there's a contrast with perspectives and as long as both sides are open for reward and consequences. So I guess this foodbetting type of gambling could possibly be offered in the future; especially if there would be a tournament to the 'players' who would participate with this game. Just afraid that results could be easily manipulated 'coz this would depend on individual's capacity of food intake whoch I think is something that should be cleared first to audiences if there will be serious individuals who would want to put this in reality.
1007  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take your eyes off from the fall in price on: September 11, 2023, 06:17:02 PM
Remember; you'd only lose once you choose to sell or cur rhe losses. Unfortunately ir is strugglinf at $25k market value due to many possible reasons affecting the market. On my end ofcourse I am happy with this opportunity to invest but also worried with my existing holdings only to when will rge market price recover. However, I'd choose holding until recovery take over this market which is possible this month. As we can see, the market price of it is down for more rhan a month already and buying pressure forms below $25k. Some are saying that its value could fall as low as $20k due to the cme gap around that price point. But bottomline is no one has the assurance so better to juat take a position you could endure whatever will happen in this market.
1008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hope is all I have left on: September 11, 2023, 06:00:39 PM
The fact that you have plans of investing already is something to consider in the long run. We are just pressured of other investors but in reality, there's really no required amount to invest. If you have an ambition and have enough determination then you should leave 'hoping' and turn it to 'doing'. Investinf once in a while is better than just putting your money in the bank. You may engage to extra jobs and tasks which could give you additional resources to continue with what you are wanting to happen unless you'd just seek for an easy way such as to just hope for help, then expect a long period of time before such thing happens.

On the other hand, hoping for a huge dump as 1sat to 1cent won't be beneficial as well. Imagine how lonf will it take for recovery to happen. There are other options if you cannot affors what's in front of you, just look around.
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token Promotion on: September 11, 2023, 05:34:41 PM
When you see topics like this one, where some project owners/managers are hurrying to get their coin/token listed run away. It's most likely a scam, and as soon as it gets listed you can expect a "big dump" from those who have bags of that coin/token.

Listing on some exchange is a big step for all new projects out there, but never forget that coins/tokens can be delisted as well.
Yes quite fishy that OP have generated a coin and still wanders how to promote it and its listing. A plan althroughout the project or roadmap is necessary for a coin to be promising 'coz if it will just be just to say that you  are running a project for your own ego, then that would be a bad thing. Others already have mentioned about bounty projects to answer the concern with regards to promotion of a coin. 2nd with listing, for sure it won't be in an instant especially with centralized platforms or exchanges which might require things. Also, to gauge the risk; if it would be listed, will it have enough popularity and demand for people to buy it? 'coz as we all know, if it won't meet such feat, then expect an instant drop.
1010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do we benefit in lies in forum on: September 11, 2023, 04:58:40 PM
I also think some of them are false stories and achievements, and they get more merits in a single post than many of good contributors to this forum .
maybe they are only some people making multiple accounts and sharing stories like this to earn merit faster or rank up fast and join signature campaigns with multiple accounts and can earn with multiple accounts by signature campaigns .
In a virtual platform, you could be anything or anyone you would want to and that includes creating false images and statements. Now, how could we prevent it? Unfortunately there's no way 'coz we won't be able to easily check if something is true in this forum or not. Best thing to do is to avoid relying with other's statement especially if it is far from the reality or if no proof on those claims. It is okay to consider their thoughts especially those which could be of any help in your end but to completely rely and regret it eventually is something we should avoid. Yes ofcourse they could make up stories depending on their purpose but if it is to get merits, I quite cannot blame them from doing so. Fortunately, those who gives in this forum, are also strict with the quality so it won't always get through with that kind of goal.
1011  Economy / Economics / Re: Is market manipulation a common occurrence everywhere? on: September 11, 2023, 04:00:29 PM
I'd say yes; there will always be bigger competitors in any field wherein manipulation happen especially with things wherein demand is a factor to consider. This is more visible with sales industry and fields of investment. But if the question is whether it is a fair thing or not, then I'd say fair still. Big investors just have the power to manipulate and they just make use of that capability. They won't adjust to small investors simply because you are all competitors.
Quote from: |MINER|

Manipulation exists everywhere, especially in the economy or business.  Manipulation is inextricably linked with business. In every sector, those who are big in terms of authority try to manipulate the system.  Market manipulation is done by those who will benefit from it.  I think cryptocurrency is not out of the question.  Besides, there are big whales to manipulate the market from time to time.  But I think even if you manipulate the market it will go back to its own pace later it may be only for short time.
This is true, manipulation can happen anywhere and have different effects. Market manipulation, for example, can have a good effect on others but can also have a negative effect on some. Moreover, market manipulation can be big or small depending on how much changes it may cause. And yes, cryptocurrency can be manipulated in some ways as well.
Yes cryptocurrency is really prone to market manipulation simply because there are "whales" who could trigger big "waves" in market prices. It would be a disadvantage if you'd choose to go against their manipulation but could be an advantage if you'd go along with it.
1012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What type of advice is worth giving such people? on: September 11, 2023, 03:04:47 PM
Rule is simple; you won't be hacked if you won't give them the slightest chance to have access into your investments. If it is that important then you should take extra precautionary measures on it. If you are using hardware wallets then put it into a safe place as well as its private keys. If you are using online wallets, then avoid engaging to sites which are sketchy or unsecured. And with your device, avoid downloading things from the internet which might contain malwares. These are common solutions but it saved me from the risk of getting hacked for years of being in this industry. I never want to blame rhe victims but if you don't want to experience such problem, then start it with yourself.

For sure you'd get the same response with people who are here for years as well.
1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins that you will be hold till next Bull Run on: September 11, 2023, 02:22:21 PM
as of now, I only have BNB to hold. although there is quite a lot of FUD being spread, and I am trying to brush it all aside and focus on collecting it little by little until the bull market arrives, and hope that the BNB price will rise high. Apart from that, I plan to put ETH back in my portfolio, but maybe I will focus on collecting it when my BNB has reached a certain amount
BNB is a good choice by the way and also, issues in particular with exchanges are long being disregard given that Binance has proven its credibility to users.

On my end, I am hitting with XRP, BCH, and other major coins 'coz for me these coins performed well with the previous bullrun which for me a valid reason although it does not promote assurance. But major coins are simply ones having large market cap and blockchains which definitely woupd sustain demand for a long period of time unlike with new coins which are pumping and dumping in an instant. Also, with memecoins which are considered by other investors.
1014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto or Real estate on: September 11, 2023, 01:35:28 PM
I prefer real state. i mean its real and its aged old legit and most proved business and it will be most profitable business in the future too.
just because of the word stands on it? REAL? Grin Grin

i don't know real estate so i chose crypto specially bitcoin mate.

or better to invest in both ? half / half? or 30/70 depend on your trust  .
He really took it literally. But yes, most of the real estate investments are tangible unlike with this industry. I'd also agree that it has a better security (Imagine this industry being restricted by governments for their own reason). Which one is better? That would depend on you as an investor; we all have our own preferences whether to a higher risk with high chances for returns or the other way around.  Volatility, principle of demand and supply; these are things we should know as bare minimum before our actual engagement. As with preferences asking between the two will just give you subjective opinions on which they are currently into with. The decision is on you when choosing an investment and I hope you'd prepare and gain knowledge first to avoid losing all of it in an instant.
1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My first sell with cypto after some months of introducing crypto as a payment on: September 09, 2023, 07:41:34 PM
Recently, a customer made a purchase with USDT.
When you say that you accept BTC as a medium of exchange for your trades, I think that this will result in higher prices for your customers than they should. Likewise with Bitcoin's volatility. I want to explain that but when you say that you have done transactions with USDT, I think that is the right thing that you did. In the future, if you want to transact with crypto, I suggest you use stable coins such as USDT or USDC. It's more profitable for you and your customers.
Indeed, we cannot jist force things out. As much as we want Bitcoin to be used as a mode of payment, that seems can't be especially with its current 'state'. Fees are still high and market price is still volatile and these factors would make you hesitate to do so, and that's just normal. For now stablecoins would be better with daily transactions if circumstances won't prohibit you in your area. Bitcoin and orher decentralized cryptos are being used with huge transactions 'coz in such way, paying extra would be fine in exchange for anonymity and avoidance with taxes. Many people are aware of this industry already but not everyone would be too eager to face losses and some disadvantages in exchange for vision for this industry. It will all take time so let us be patient.
1016  Economy / Economics / Re: Building wealth it's not just one time Luck on: September 09, 2023, 05:40:42 PM
More as well as a not a single night journey. It'll be a long way establishing wealth. Indeed you could be lucky as proven by people who won lotteries but if we think of it, not all people who have huge amount of wealth also won from lotteries. Given that not all of us would be lucky enough then what's our choice? It would be better to start walking until you meet that luvk and opportunity than to wait for things to happen on its own. It would be a win-win situation: starting on your own would put you to a place farther than where you came from and if luck would take place then it would be a better outcome and if luck won't happen atleast you already have your own progress.

Problem is people who solely depend on luck in order to achieve better things in life. They often disregard the amount of time they are wasting until something which has no assurance on its occurence, happen.
1017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Common Bitcoin ideas on: September 09, 2023, 04:54:50 PM

This brought me into thinking how do we make people understand Bitcoin properly in order to prevent them from being scammed and end up disliking the crypto space. Is introducing them into Bitcoin talk enough ? If no what else more can we do easily to make them actually get the idea of Bitcoin.
Help them have the right mindset. What pulls them towards fraud and profit loss is their impression of Bitcoin as an investment; easy and instant profit. They're only seeing how huge the profit was earned from the previous pumps but not the risk endured due to sudden price changes and wrong entry and exit points. Investment is simple; invest at the right price and sell it for a higher price. But why do people still lose money not only in this industry? 'coz of lack in planning and right execution of actions. It is easy to tell the good sides or advantages of Bitcoin but it would be difficult doing the right things because of circumstances and different vision towards this technology.

Some are expecting instant profit and once they encounter a loss, panic will take place and will eventually push them to sell early. Sometimes the simplest things are the ones we often forgot in this field of investment.
1018  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: September 08, 2023, 07:22:21 PM
Most of us are affected for sure it is just salary varies in each country which lessen and strengthen how we would be affected by it.
You know it’s odd to see basic necessities if they have been decreasing their prices, surely their prices are bound to increase especially that inflation may be here for good. And food prices are certainly the most concern of the citizens today most particularly in my country where rice price has been extremely rising so bad. Good thing news came out lately that our head of the country has ordered a minimum price set for well-milled rice. Hopefully this will not be the last price adjustment for our food price.

I really hope that there will be more price adjustments. There is already food shortage to deal with, with the price of necessities going up I don't know how below minimum wage workers will be able to survive. I work an above minimum wage job but I still struggle to keep up with my budget and is barely saving any for my future and for investments. Hopefully, if more price adjustments happen we can all find a way to adjust and make most of our income.
I though I was the only one thibking that the number of population has something to do with the increase in marketable goods. There is now a shortage with resources simply because population keeps on growing, not to mention capitalism, corruption, and regulations in world trade industry, which adds with the burden. Agricultural resources may indeed be supported to lower the ceiling of our daily needs but problem is with regulation; both producers and consumers are struggling which is an obvioys proof that there is something wrong happening especially with third world countries.
1019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank vs Crypto: Are they opposites? on: September 08, 2023, 06:36:20 PM
Not totally, but has different characteristics; govenment acknowledgement, decentralization, security, volatility, and more. Both are financial systems (individual vs institutional).
Banks and cryptocurrencies will be used together, central banks and banks or generally governments won't be able to stop it. People have their voice and power so governments can not prohibit their citizens to use cryptocurrencies in all nations globally. Simply, they can not do it in nations where power is not centralized in dictators and dictatorship.

Banks will follow central banks that are going to create more CBDCs that will be used by citizens. Citizens have other options, Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and if they feel unsafe with CBDCs or any cryptocurrency deployed by banks, they will choose Bitcoin.

CBDC tracker with information about CBDC developments globally.

With my firm conviction, I believe in the coexistence and development of both.  But saying that the government cannot ban us from using bitcoin is not entirely correct, they are still the ones who make all the decisions. If we really have a voice and power, why can't anyone fight for bitcoin to become a currency? Meanwhile, the government only accepts bitcoin as a commodity and they will never allow bitcoin to become a currency and we will have no right to demand that from them. CBDC will be what they force us to use and we do not have the right to choose bitcoin as an alternative payment method to CBDC.
They clearly have the power to do so as evident with countries such as China. Governments want to regulate this industry which would be difficult given its nature. The only way possible is thru third party wallets and system but it would make a huge difference if ever things would be totally regulated. Interest towards this industry might negatively change simply because the concept itself will be changed. I do hope that co-existence to happen than with full restriction.
1020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't wait for the bottom without buying in the Dip. on: September 08, 2023, 05:47:46 PM
If you could go there to the speculations board to see how people were giving their own various opinions about bitcoin market sentiment for the next coming months and how there's a very vital achievement investing now on bitcoin that it's dip, such period like this could doubtlessly renders us opportunity for the investment we made before the market begins to rise back as always expected, very soon i know that we are getting closer to $68,000 before we landed at another all time high after halving next year, this will make us to understand more that we are still on dip till this present moment.
Waiting for its actual bottom is a punch to the moon. Once there is a huge volume, the price gets more volatile to both pump and dump. Catching the "tail'" of the price action will never be advisable 'coz it could push through. Much better to pick a price wherein you would be able to endure both upward and downward motion. In such way you won't also worry that you'd miss your desired market price.

Indeed, right now there's a mix of speculations. Some are saying that its market value would fall down 'til $20k but what if it don't? For me entering at $24k-25k would be fair enough for long term hold until bullrun occurs.
