XT drama is just another attempt to make Bitcoin move forward. It all depends on Bitcoin.

once or twice a year something like this happens and the prices drop hard. i see it as a great opportunity to buy where others very much panic and sell all their coins.

So with each step downwards in the price of BTC, you buy a bunch more, and then lose a bunch more money with the next step downwards?

fart factory
If people paid attention to mam lambpup when this happened back in January they'd still be freaked out at this point. Price has strengthened today after yesterday's dog show in the gutter. If you believe in bitcoin and what it will offer you always find solace and buy the dip. Otherwise, you bail and leave cause you want no part in this realm. Big money is accumulating at these ranges while the nervous nennies fold and run. If you want to achieve what bitcoin can offer, you have to stomach the downturns w/ a smile. Or, sell, turn tail & U-turn and miss out when the parabolic begins. The halving is coming later next year so you do the math. This drama over the blockchain expansion won't be in the mix by then. So, call it like you see it or let the infamous troll lead you to the door.

You would've nearly doubled your money with the 166 moment a few weeks later. Just as a dump is near inevitable these days, so is a reasonable rise. Maybe it'll stay in the $2-300 range until 2140 when only descendants of the original manipulators are still trading with each other to honour them.
Not a chance, that won't happen nor stay in that range for that long of a period. I'm surprised at you coming in like that. This crap will blow over and the recovery will begin. Some of you feel despair and dejection really hard. The move up will happen at some point in the near to medium future, that's all. No one can tell you a moon date.

Rand Paul: 'How Do You Out-Trump the Irrational?'

CAP-HAITIEN, HAITI — Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul says it's only a matter of time until the country wakes up to Donald Trump's insincere message, but he's worried that some Americans are blinded by his "celebrity."

In a series of interviews between performing pro-bono eye surgeries in Haiti with the University of Utah's Moran Eye Center, the Kentucky senator was relaxed in scrubs, dismissive of Trump and critical of the media's role in Trump's rise.

"How do you out-Trump the irrational?" he asked.

It's a question he and the other Republican candidates are puzzling over. Paul said the reason "people have gone gaga" over the billionaire real estate mogul is that he's tapped into anti-establishment conservative anger.

In many ways, it's not dissimilar from the anti-Washington sentiment that helped Paul rise to his own political fame. But in the case of Trump, Paul believes there's no substance at all behind the frustration.

"I've likened it to 'The emperor has no clothes.' He's saying things that are completely vapid, things that are completely vulgar and completely a non sequitur."

And Paul is confident that the Trump show can't last.

"There's no way the voters in the country will nominate him. Absolutely not," Paul said.
...
In the interview with NBC News, Paul took particular aim at Trump's recently released immigration proposal, which he said made "no sense" and is "bizarre."

"Even the people who think they might like him, when they hear what his bone-headed plan is, you think they might have second thoughts," he said.

Still, one element of Trump's immigration plan that Paul won't push back on is his proposal to end birthright citizenship.

Back in 2011, Paul co-sponsored a constitutional amendment to put an end to the right that allows everybody born on U.S. soil to be a citizen. He told NBC News that today's circumstances still warrant that move.

"What I would say is, if you have an open border you can't have birthright citizenship," he said.

He also said his preference is to fix the border, adding that "no Republican or Democrat president" since 1986 has properly enforced America's immigration laws.

Rand Paul: a humanitarian in Haiti, a pit bull in 2016

CAP-HAITIEN, Haiti (AP) — Even while fighting blindness in the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere this week, Republican presidential contender Rand Paul intensified political attacks against rivals in both parties, vowing to continue pressing billionaire businessman Donald Trump in particular as the Kentucky senator embraces the role as the GOP's leading pit bull.

An ophthalmologist by training, Paul left Haiti on Wednesday afternoon after spending four days on a humanitarian mission to the island nation. From a small urban clinic guarded by a team of armed police, Paul joined six eye surgeons who restored vision to dozens of impoverished Haitians, many living for years in blindness because of ailments such as cataracts that are easily treated in the United States.

The trip offered the tea party firebrand a brief respite from a presidential campaign in which his standing has slipped substantially in recent weeks. Yet the 2016 election — especially Trump — was a regular topic of conversation when Paul wasn't in the operating room.

Hillary Clinton Is Rooting for Jeb Bush

Thhere is an obvious subtext to the panicked effort to purge the GOP of Donald Trump: to allow the party’s true hero to emerge to vanquish Hillary Clinton and restore peace and justice throughout the land. To most GOP elites, of course, the savior is Jeb Bush, complete with the Clark Kent glasses and aw-shucks good guy demeanor. The Chamber of Commerce crowd is so convinced that Jeb is the man that it (so far) has placed a bet of more than $100 million on that proposition.
There’s just one problem—the Clintons want Jeb Bush to be the GOP nominee, too.

It was Trump himself who picked up on this fact when Hillary Clinton singled out Bush for criticism over his remark that “I’m not sure we need a half a billion dollars for women’s health issues.” Bush later said he “misspoke.” (This is supposed to be the safe, gaffe-free candidate, right?) By going after Jeb directly, and far from the first time, the Clintons want to “elevate” him, Trump charged, because they know they can beat him.

Here’s something you don’t hear, well, ever, in Washington: Donald Trump is right.

Regardless of whether Clinton survives her primary battle with a growing list of potential foes—that before long may include Joe Biden, blast-from-the-past Al Gore and heck, at this rate, maybe even Michael Dukakis—Republicans ought to think hard about the reasons why Bush might be the easiest of the serious GOP contenders for the Clintons to beat. And it’s not just because they’ve done it before.

I’m a Hillary Clinton fan. But I hope she bows out with grace

Hillary Clinton has a fundraising pot that is overflowing. She appears to be cruising to the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination: and then, if the stars align in her favour, on to a well-deserved place in history as the first female president of the United States.

Her supporters have wished it for so long, it seems almost impossible that it might not come to pass. And I would count myself among those supporters, ever since – as a Washington-based correspondent – I watched the lobbyists gang up to defeat her health plan, and observed how she toughed out the sordid revelations about her husband and “that woman, Miss Lewinsky”.

We now have four red candles in a row on the weekly chart. That hasn't happened since the crash last winter.

interestingly, we're still down less than 50% for the last twelve months which means we're STILL out performing WTI crude. Is oil dead?

Comparing bitcoin to crude is meaningless. Sorry, but it's true.
I doubt the comparison has anything to do w/ the dynamics behind these commodities but rather the volatility in relation to each in the eyes of institutional investors. As he mentioned before, bitcoin is becoming a more respected asset class when you factor in the disaster that is oil the last year.

Stand with Rand Meet and Greet with Thomas Massie - Dubuque, IA

Congressman Thomas Massie, a conservative leader in the US House of Representatives, is supporting Rand Paul. Join us in Dubuque on Saturday, August 22, and hear why he is standing with Rand.

"Rand Paul is the most principled conservative in the Senate and is a fierce advocate for personal liberty, economic freedom, and fiscal responsibility. The United States needs a President who will first and foremost defend the Constitution, and Rand is the only candidate that has proven time and again that he will do just that. - Thomas Massie"

Rand Paul vows to foot bill for switch to caucus in Ky
The change would allow the GOP senator to be on the ballot for Senate and president at once.

Rand Paul, trying to head off a rebellion back home, promised Monday to fully pay for changes to his state’s presidential nominating process that would allow him to seek two different offices in 2016.

The Kentucky GOP freshman is trying to convince his state’s central GOP committee to change Kentucky’s presidential primary to a caucus system instead. By holding a caucus, in which voters organize by local precinct and choose their preferred candidate, Paul believes he can circumvent the state’s prohibition that candidates cannot appear on the ballot for two offices at the same time. The senator is running for reelection to his Senate seat in 2016, as well.

The Rand camp and volunteers/donors are feeling down atm but I would hope many of them would rise to the next occasion and be ready for the next fight. There is so much left to come our way that we should all be powerful happy about what he's attempting so stay happy and ready to him go up in the polls from this early on.

The Young Turks Predict Rand to Win the Nomination

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-J7VER5MuMw

They're lefties but this is an interesting take on the situation.

Heh, I need more drinking buddies like Cenk.  We (mostly) agree on the goals, but can have lots of fun bickering about the best means to accomplish them.   Cool
Funny you should mention that as I was at my cousin's wedding last night and his dad is firmly on the Bernie train but I did mention Cenk and The Young Turks and their recent video of speculating that Rand will win the GOP nomination and he was totally liking me bringing up the TYT folks but had nothing else to say as a school teacher here in MI. Thanks for your input.

not 500 man. Would be cool if we could just hit like 300 and stay above, but current prices are good as well Smiley
You tagged a troll which is a no-no in this thread but your latter point could be legit depending on how things turn out. I would agree that the next leg could be up to that range once again but we all know that time will call the shots. Most noobs that are ridiculous are the same person fyi.
1038  Economy / Speculation / Re: So when is the next Spike ? on: August 16, 2015, 04:27:17 AM
Just keep collecting your coins.
I think that next spike will be near the time of halving in July 2016.
Till then, I don't think that any spike can take place.

that's the thing. people don't have the patience to wait for the block halving to take place. they want profit right now, and not next year.

Why it will raise only in july 2016? any strong reason?

I think it will move up only when more businesses will start accepting bitcoin as a payment option.
When more well known businesses accept it, it will be a good talking point for us but unless they offer discounts for paying w/ bitcoin then there won't be much traction for it. Whatever creates demand for bitooin will add more life to it - especially more legit and secured trading exchanges for institutional investors as well as the Winks' ETF that will allow hedge funds and other brokers to allow their clients decent exposure to it w/ security at a premium in the deal. Heck, I talked to a trader on the Chicago exchange tonight and he had no clue how to even get bitcoins tonight to which I gave him several options. Professional people have heard of the coin in a seed form so this is what we hope to sow and grow going forward. Once the real bull market begins, these types w/ money will be tripping over each other to get their feet wet and then some, especially when other markets are spiraling into the abyss.
1039  Economy / Speculation / Re: Direction is NNE (north northeast) - MOON TIME on: August 16, 2015, 04:21:27 AM
Was at my cousin's wedding tonight and I talked to a lot of people about bitcoin as in a follow up from the last time I saw many of these people. The cousin is going to Stanford for his surgeon training, his bro works for Apple out in Cali and has done some reading up on the coin in recent times, plus some other lawyers and market traders out of the Chicago market that heard my spiel that hadn't gotten the proper intro to the coin yet tho many of them are into the likes of Rand Paul so they definitely won't forget my mini lectures during happy hour and the food line. That was my activism for the evening which is built upon some past convos as well as letting some newer faces in on it as a seed planting episode that may or may not pay off. And this all happened before the heavy drinking started so perhaps they'll marinate on it in due time as they hear about it again. Word of mouth is strong for when people inevitably hear about it again as they won't get the quick, in depth take on it in subsequent sightings of the coin.

Also, when the coin makes news out of itself in the coming bull market, these kind of people talk to others in their lines of work and the word spreads at that level. Kind of an organic/fomo hybrid under the right circumstances if ya know what I mean. Grin
