1021  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: RAM-Reduction & Backup Center Testing (version 0.89.99.5) on: October 02, 2013, 10:26:11 PM
I think you have to cd to the bitcoinarmory directory before switching the branch.
1022  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hacked - lost 1.22 bitcoins on: October 02, 2013, 10:08:46 PM
Offline wallets on a USB with armory and other shit also ain't safe, nothing is safe, this is the internet.

Offline wallets aren't connected to the internet.  That's what offline means.
1023  Economy / Lending / Re: [FULL COLLATERAL] "Up To 57 day loan." on: October 02, 2013, 04:09:42 AM
It looks like you just want to hedge against defaulting on this other loan.
1024  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: October 02, 2013, 03:37:24 AM
At least we know something is happening because people are still getting refunds.  So it's not like there's zero info.
1025  Economy / Auctions / Re: Qty. 48 225GH/s fpga's..... 11TH/s potential.... $73,000.00 Retail Value... on: October 02, 2013, 03:36:17 AM
KNC is at $5000 for 500 GH/s, so 11 TH/s would cost $110k, I'm sure the extra $40k would cover the cost to hire an engineer to design the boards and program the chips.  And you don't have to hope they reach their "potential"
1026  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: first week mining on: October 01, 2013, 11:11:33 PM
Buy more efficient miners with higher Gh/s per Dollar. With fewer electricity consumption. Do your own research.

No -- don't buy any more miners until you make a profit from this one first.
1027  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: RAM-Reduction & Backup Center Testing (version 0.89.99.5) on: October 01, 2013, 10:52:34 PM
Ah I tried the new version and got the same error as you.

From a diff of the two versions it looks like line 18 in leveldb/db/c.cc was added:  #define strdup _strdup.  Just delete that line and remake.
1028  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: October 01, 2013, 09:59:58 PM
Someone should send them an email:  http://www.sec.gov/about/offices/oia/oia_crossborder.shtml
1029  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase on: October 01, 2013, 09:58:40 PM
It has happened to others.  They usually post, accusing coinbase of waiting to see if BTC goes up or down and canceling unfavorable orders.  Then coinbase posts and says no, it was just a glitch we'll whitelist you and honor the old price.
1030  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YIFU IS AUCTIONNING? on: October 01, 2013, 09:56:19 PM
how can you guys tell its Yifu?

Because instead of escrow he's using escrew.  E-Screw, The newest way to screw customers over.
1031  Economy / Auctions / Re: Qty. 48 225GH/s fpga's..... 11TH/s potential.... $73,000.00 Retail Value... on: October 01, 2013, 09:45:58 PM
Why would anyone buy the FPGAs from you instead of just buying them direct?  I assume they're just the FPGA, no program, boards, PS, etc?
1032  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. IN STOCK NOW! on: October 01, 2013, 09:40:13 PM
How about +ROI for ROI > 0
1033  Economy / Securities / Re: Cloudhashing ASIC mining contracts, UK LTD company - Now Mining & Paying Bitcoin on: October 01, 2013, 09:38:42 PM
If they're not starting to mine I'll sell a 2GH/sec 1 year contract for 1.178 BTC ($149.95 @ $127.28/1BTC bitstamp price) to whoever wants it, starting mining today.
1034  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: RAM-Reduction & Backup Center Testing (version 0.89.99.5) on: October 01, 2013, 09:19:18 PM
That's weird, I don't think it even tried to compile any directory except for cppforswig root directory.  I just did a make clean in the leveldb, cryptopp, and cppforswig directories and redid make in the root BitcoinArmory directory and it didn't do anything to leveldb or cryptopp.  I did get an a.out in cryptopp, not sure from what.

BTW I'm on Xubuntu 13.04, but this is with armory 0.89.99.3

Do you have libcrypto++-dev and qt4reactor.py?
1035  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: RAM-Reduction & Backup Center Testing (version 0.89.99.5) on: October 01, 2013, 08:17:03 PM
Did you try it without the changes?  I didn't need to make any, I think I'm using 13.04 xubuntu.
1036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is it possible to generate the same adress twice? on: October 01, 2013, 08:15:34 PM
Wallets do check if the address is in use.  They check if any of your addresses are in use, that's what a wallet client does.
1037  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YIFU IS AUCTIONNING? on: October 01, 2013, 03:44:34 PM
Anyone with an account there have any info on the specs? / going price?
1038  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. IN STOCK NOW! on: October 01, 2013, 03:40:53 PM
Breaking even means $100 spent --> $200 returned on the investment....

Correct? (not sure what breaking even means, as some people like to use the term to mean they made back what they actually spent...I have heard so many uses of this that it boggles the mind)

Edit: I am not an accountant (thank God) but some folks use ROI to mean "a return on an investment" (literal).

Meaning if you spent $100 then $100.05 is considered "a ROI" (Return on Investment).

Spending $100 and making back that $100 would be breaking even, with a net gain of $0.  People here use ROI too liberally as you say.  Usually one would specify the actual ROI as a percentage.  If you spend $100 and get $110 with a net gain of $10 then you would have an ROI of 10%.  In the bitcoin world people are ecstatic to get an ROI that's not negative.
1039  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: October 01, 2013, 02:37:24 PM
there is a cutoff?  Shouldn't we have been made aware of this when originally offered a refund?  This is getting ridiculous now.

He stated that he wouldn't force a refund on anyone.  So there was bound to be a batch where some wanted a refund and some didn't.
1040  Economy / Services / Re: Script for dice betting on: October 01, 2013, 03:23:57 AM
For 1.9 BTC I'll write you a script that simulates the betting.  When you lose everything it'll say:  You saved ___ BTC.
