1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: April 13, 2023, 03:04:34 PM
But he is the only driver that is getting paid and sitting on the sidelines of an F1 team and not sweating it one bit.
I just can't imagine the role he is doing now there? Like is he getting to have a say on how the car will behave or does he have that custom seat for the F1 car ready in case something were to happen to the primary drivers? It's really interesting.

I remember only one occasion did a backup take the wheel of a race last season.
Was this with Albon? That's what I remember.
1022  Economy / Economics / Re: Woman loses $73,000 in Crypto Investment Fraud -Scammer plays Book of Friendship on: April 13, 2023, 07:34:10 AM
What's worse with this is how easy it is, or gullible someone could pose as a friend and then try to give a lot of money to be invested in something that has no proof or something. It will be an easy catch for those who have yet to learn. The woman probably has a lot of money and thinks of something she can afford to lose. It's saddening to see this effect on older people. They are more gullible in terms of tech-savvy stuff.
1023  Other / Meta / Re: TheBitcoinTalkShow - 12 apr - Let's Get Physical With Digital Currencies on: April 13, 2023, 05:30:48 AM
Cool episode! I learned a lot of exciting things from the video.
  • Why it's important to use Testnet coins

"Happy new year", it's a good thing that you uploaded it before New years  Tongue
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ETH has the capacity to pass BTC? on: April 13, 2023, 01:29:11 AM
With all the things ETH has to offer the cryptocurrency space and the community, it could potentially be more head-to-head against BTC. Still, it will not pass anytime soon because BTC would rise more and more compared to other cryptocurrencies. After all, it's the first one. There hasn't been a time that the prices became close as well. We are still there.
1025  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Early Profit can be misleading. on: April 12, 2023, 11:39:06 AM
I fully agree with you. Newbie traders should first and foremost put in enough time and effort to fully understand trading before starting to focus on making a profit. It is important to understand that trading is a complex process that requires knowledge, skills and experience to be successful in the long run.
Making profits early in a trading career can be misleading and is not always a reliable indicator of future success. Newbie traders who suffer losses but continue to learn and analyze their mistakes can gain valuable experience and become more competent traders in the long run.
I believe the best thing to do is always to understand that risk is involved in trading and that making a profit is not a walk in the park. Imagine making it easy or something. It's better to gamble your money away if you are not going to utilize the knowledge that you can get by learning to trade. Consistency is a better indicator of success and not just results. But it can be a good indicator as long as it already has a large amount of data.
1026  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Other sections for this forum? on: April 11, 2023, 09:52:44 AM
Nag check ako kanina, kakaunti lang ang mga "active" threads na pwede nating ilipat sa gambling discussion, karamihan halos ilang buwan na na hindi gumagalaw...

More on sa global gambling discussion thread nagdidiscuss mga pinoy. Just to boost lang po sana yung gambling activities topic dito sa local for easy visibility. Pero salamat po sa pag notice. Simulan ko po magcreate ng mga gambling topics dito.
Will support your gambling thread. Maganda nga kung meron tayong sarili kasi madami din talagang mahilig mag gamble dito sa Pilipinas.

Some categories na possible makatulong sa pag gawa ng topic under gambling discussion.
  • Strategy and tips

1027  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: one mistake that crypto beginners should be aware of ? on: April 11, 2023, 07:45:41 AM
I think it shouldn't necessarily be a "specific" mistake but something considered a "learning" mistake. Like something "too good to be true" posts and offers, ending up as a scam. I believe that anyone of us has probably experienced a scam one way or fraud possibly like:,
  • Investing in coins believing it's going to be a life-changer
  • Trading with someone here and not verifying the amount that they have control of the wallet.
  • Believing in paying like signals but it's really within your control on how you are going to proceed with trading

There are a lot of things beginners should learn, just make sure they understand what they are doing in the first place.
I think what’s more important here is that they will not be consistent in repeating the same mistakes again as those mistakes are only good at the beginning and should only serve as a motivation to learn more and discover more. And remember OP, we should not only focus to a single mistake but all mistakes in general and correct them so we won’t be losing our money again because we fail to avoid them.
That is definitely understood already. Not repeating the same mistakes. It just means that they didn't understand what they did wrong and they just keep repeating the mistake over and over again. That's not going to be healthy for them and would probably lead them to lose money like you said. Corrective actions should be done.
1028  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Market is seasonal on: April 11, 2023, 06:30:59 AM
How can you say that the market is seasonal if you need help understanding the mechanics of the market? Saying that it's "mystical magic" doesn't explain anything. It's best to know that there is a primary reason you always kept winning trades: market sentiment. It's a bullish market; everyone would benefit from it and keep winning.

It would be hard to regulate, but the people who can are the whales.
1029  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blockchain Casinos - Consumer's Choice 2023! on: April 10, 2023, 01:48:49 PM
Where would this be posted? I'm curious as to why I just have heard of the Casinos Blockchain awards. It would be fun to see the event itself so that our votes here would be somewhat relevant.

I think the majority here knows only of Stake and not the other casinos in the poll.
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much effort should one put into Bitcoin investments on: April 10, 2023, 09:59:10 AM
It depends on what you can handle. To put on a perspective, you have to believe it would rise. If you cannot wait to see the realization of your belief in Bitcoin, then it's better to stay away from it and save yourself from the stress you can incur when investing. It's better to take care of your health rather than make it harder for yourself to gain that financial stuff. That would be an exchange for life and money.
1031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Giving out to promote Bitcoin on: April 10, 2023, 02:05:23 AM
That's very noble of you to do. It's probably because of the money that they listened to you, but it's a great start. A lot of people would have started it like that if they have something to start on. It's great that you were able to ask them to create a non-custodial wallet because it can be quite overwhelming at first if they don't have devices to use or if they want something easy.
1032  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: April 10, 2023, 12:29:20 AM
It's okay to borrow if you intend to pay it back and need it. Sometimes it's necessary, but you shouldn't make it a habit like you will borrow to pay another debt. It will be a never-ending cycle that you will not stop doing until it affects your life and go into some parts of your life. It will manifest somehow.

Unless you borrow for asset purchasing that could generate income, that's one of the best things you can do when borrowing money. Make more money with it.
1033  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5 Things I've learned day trading Bitcoin for 3 years (successfully) on: April 09, 2023, 05:48:46 PM
The best way to determine how you will keep up with the market is to monitor it continuously and ensure that you follow the trend. I agree that you can use tools like a crypto bot to take advantage of the market. You could also check Gunbot . I hope you are available to check it out. Maybe you could use it OP to your advantage as well.

I'm curious, how do you determine that you are "successful" in trading? What are the metrics that you use to know that you are, what you say, successful?
1034  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question about Freezing of account on: April 09, 2023, 05:34:58 PM
I hope that your friend wasn't scammed with this method. Probably her email got leaked and the scammers pretended to be as an exchange and then made it look like she is making transactions with the original site. It's definitely going to be a problem if she deposits or something. I don't know what kind verification that is but it might just be an attempt to get money from leaked emails or something.

I hope no one is going to get scammed anymore with this method.
1035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has a bad reputation (we should fix it) on: April 09, 2023, 02:17:57 PM
I have talked with a lot of people who are not so much into anything technological and non-tech savvy people and what I can gain from them is this.

"It's not tangible"

I think as humans, they want something real and really be held using arms or something. They want to really have that tangibility that some assets have and I think that's where it's hard to grasp for other people. Some people know that it's the people who are evil and not the technology itself so I think it's not the reputation per se.
1036  Other / Off-topic / Re: I have bought my Dream Mobile Phone Because of Signature Compaign earnings on: April 08, 2023, 08:15:56 PM
What a great story! It's fun to see these types of stories, which makes it inspiring and motivating to be part of this forum. I'm just curious, OP. Did you earn BTC in the signature campaigns? Because you might make or get more if you manage to store it safely and not move it at all and then wait 'till it rises in price more and more. Would it be worth it to stay in BTC?
1037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to spend your Bitcoin on: April 08, 2023, 03:04:27 AM
Where did you get that most people use Bitcoin transactions? That shouldn't be the case everywhere. Many people have yet to use BTC and always use the unlimited resource FIAT cash, and that's what they know. The majority are not using BTC, and people who are into BTC mostly are into HODLing and will not use it all. In some cases, they need something, and they need to have that source of cash.

I'm guilty of spending BTC. I did that and spent my Bitcoin buying goods because I was amazed that you could use it in some stores back then, but now I use it when I need to.
1038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you consider yourself as a risk taker if you buy bitcoin? on: April 08, 2023, 02:56:33 AM
Since you already have the answer as YES, it's not informative, or no need for further discussion because it's just, like you said, a yes. It will get more complicated if you check or understand it more profoundly.

It can be simplified like this.

Bitcoin = Volatile asset (The unpredictability of the market)
Buying a volatile asset = risk-taking (Uncertainty of the asset)

Risk taker = Buying Bitcoin

That should be it, TBH.
1039  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: April 07, 2023, 03:35:37 PM
What will you do if you don't know that a online casino will ask you for KYC after winning over 8,000$ on the platform? And you now manage to process with the verification and they failed to pass you? Can you consider such a casino a scam?
That would be a lot of money to be won and they would definitely know who is behind that winning bet or something. It will depend on how they are dealing with players in the site. Find some reviews about it and see if there are people who would have the same thoughts on "scam" or legit.

Also, imagine you get attracted to an online casino because of the bonuses they offer and you open an account and make your first deposit then you didn't receive the promised bonus, is this an act of scam or not?
It's a way for them to attract new players. That wouldn't be immediately equal a scam. You should be wary of "too good to be true" things.

I am trying to solve such an issue for someone very close to me and that the complaint he gave, I have no answer than maybe the bonus was canceled already before he made the deposit or there was a minimum deposit requirement.
Is there any other reason given by the casino why it failed? There has to be something.
1040  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: one mistake that crypto beginners should be aware of ? on: April 07, 2023, 03:17:19 PM
Everything is going to go through beginners' stage. That's the best way to learn, but having a mentor is better. If not, then you will have to go through it. I want to expand on what you have already said, OP.

  • Imagine joining exchanges just because it has gotten popular in a short while and may be too good to be true
  • Only goes with the crowd and follows what they see online without research.
  • Keeps everything easily accessible to anyone
.

Those things are quickly learned if the person exerts effort towards it, and if non, then you know what will happen. That someone will not be involved anymore with the crypto space because of a "bad experience."
