1041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Limited Edition Ledger Nano S (Litecoin 5th Anniversary!) on: October 15, 2016, 02:37:44 PM
Nice looking unit.
Hopefully LTC gets some kind of traction.
It's a great sign that its been in use for 5 years now, but everyone is interested in the new hot coin of the month,
and LTC doesn't seem to be moving much on the exchanges recently.
IDK what it will take to get people interested in this coin again.
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex security review on: October 15, 2016, 02:31:18 PM
I would actually be very interested to know if Poloniex and other sites ever did actual security auditing.
They would be foolish not to pay for this type of service,
but nothing would surprise me with these exchanges.

I actually asked a question regarding security on these exchanges a week or two ago and got zero replies in the thread lol.
No one cares about security until millions of dollars in coins go missing.
1043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Integrate Bitcoin payment in Facebook on: October 15, 2016, 04:45:38 AM
What would BTC be used for in Facebook?
Are you talking about sending someone a tip? Because they could just post their address in their profile.

If Twitch or some streaming services allowed you to make donations to a streamer in Bitcoin,
that might generate a lot of new users.

But for Facebook, I think most people want it to stay "free".
(Quotations are there because nothing is free. Facebook is selling your info to provide you with your service.)
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 14, 2016, 10:03:32 PM
Thats a ton of work just to spread a little FUD.
Is this someone trying to promote another coin, or someone looking to decrease the price of XMR in order to buy on the cheap?
1045  Economy / Economics / Re: Is gold better than Bitcoin? on: October 14, 2016, 07:09:27 PM
ROFL this topic is actually fucking hilarious.
Bitcoin is an idea, but like Fiat currency, it is not really a tangible thing. Its an agreed upon payment method.
Although Bitcoin has a limited number that can be created, its fucking make believe internet money.
Once we are through with BTC we can just invent another coin.

Silver and gold are tangible elements that there is a limited supply of in the earth.
Once they are mined, that's the total supply. We can't just invent a new element and start using that instead.

I love Bitcoin and its a great idea, its a great thing. But comparing it to precious metals is not apples to oranges.
Its apples to make believe internet memes.
1046  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Bitcoins? on: October 14, 2016, 06:46:15 PM
I would be very careful investing in any startups online.
50% are scams at least.
Of the ones that aren't, at least 50% will fail.
Maybe 25% or 30% break even and 10 to 25% AT BEST actually make money.
Unless you have a ton of capital to invest you should just save your coins or pick a startup coin that you like to invest in.
If you DO have a lot of capital to invest you are probably better off putting some into bitcoin and waiting and putting some money in the stock market etc.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could Bytecoin come back and overtake Monero? on: October 14, 2016, 06:41:03 PM
The number of coins does worry me a little bit.
Max number of Bitcoin is 21 million? (I think this is correct?)
Maybe devs are okay with the highest price of the coin only ever being a fraction of the cost of one Bitcoin.
(I'm not sure what their plans are)

And feel free to send me a PM before the pump begins.
I could maybe make back some of the money I lost getting drunk and playing Blackjack.
Don't drink and gamble kids!  Cry
1048  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at $6000 and Top Altcoins at $600? on: October 14, 2016, 03:16:46 PM
Bitcoin will be replaced before it hits 1 million dollars.
Unless things change with the developers it will eventually be replaced by better technology.
Bitcoin is the beginning. Not the end.
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you mining these days? on: October 14, 2016, 02:47:18 PM
My hard drives are mining Burst at the same time my GPU is mining Monero.
I only get a few pennies a day off the Burst but its only a 200GB plot at the moment.
I'll add some more hard drives over the weekend and maybe get up to a dozen cents per day lol.  Shocked
1050  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is earning BTC can be good in the future? on: October 14, 2016, 10:41:44 AM
Bitcoin needs to adapt to some of the new technologies or it deserves to die.
You really think Satoshi Nakomoto wanted Bitcoin to stay the same forever?
Faster confirmation times, smaller blockchain, and things like this need to happen or the coin will become stale and eventually get replaced.
We also need to have the debate over privacy. When coins like Monero can provide better privacy we need to think about what that means for Bitcoin.
This technology wasn't invented to make people rich and thats all anyone cares about anymore, sadly.
1051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: October 13, 2016, 11:06:58 PM
Nice!
I really like the design of this Nano Ledger.
Hopefully this announcement brings at least a little attention to Litecoin.
Its definitely a solid product, people are just looking for the new FOTM and act like they forgot about Dre.
1052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tipping Uber drivers with bitcoin on: October 13, 2016, 10:58:10 PM
A printed QR code is a great way to send a tip.
Very easy and most people that use Bitcoin will probably have some kind of smarthphone and an app that can send Bitcoin.
Now we just need an easier way for the driver to turn their coins into cash and this would be a huge market that would expand the number of Bitcoin users.
1053  Economy / Speculation / Re: It took only 11 days to go from 639 to 1148 last time on: October 13, 2016, 10:56:25 PM
Never say never.
If nothing big happens with any altcoin before Christmas maybe there will be a huge pump into Bitcoin and the price will skyrocket.
Anything could happen.
1054  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to become famous in this forum on: October 13, 2016, 09:08:45 PM
Become a hero or a villain.
Either make a ton of useful posts, help new members, provide technical advice, and get good trust rating,
or
make a ton of shitposts, spread FUD, get in arguments with other members, and get a ton of negative rep.

Those are your two paths, my son.
1055  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please help me, what can I do with my bitcoins? on: October 13, 2016, 05:05:34 PM
This is the main issue with Bitcoin.
Very few places actually accept them. Its only very select things that you can spend them on.
As more sites accept BTC and more companies transfer coins to Fiat, that is what will increase the value.
1056  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Yobit is substandard on: October 12, 2016, 09:00:40 PM
Yobit is fine as long as you don't take advice from the Trollbox.
It's literally nothing but retards spamming to get you to buy the latest shitcoin they are mining.
It's somehow worse than the rest of the exchanges.
But other than that I haven't had any issues with the site.
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Apple and DASH on: October 12, 2016, 07:54:17 PM
Very true.
This is why we must not support this furniture manufacturer,
no matter how beautiful the bookcases it builds are.
Vote with your money and do not support a company doing things you don't like because that is the only thing they listen to.
1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Potcoin has almost 8% of Bitcoin's volume. on: October 12, 2016, 05:02:10 PM
Coin got pumped and dumped.
Now there are a bunch of bagholders left holding a ton of coins and a lot less money.
Hopefully this doesn't hurt a lot of new users because I know it was getting some newer investors into crypto.
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero under $8, while recognized by Apple as one of leading Cryptocurrencies. on: October 12, 2016, 04:59:30 PM
Title is a bit misleading.
Jaxx is just a wallet that was approved for the Apple store, correct?
This just means Jaxx is recognizing the currency. And Apple is recognizing Jaxx as a legitimate wallet it will allow to be hosted in the store.
(Correct me if I'm wrong here maybe I'm not fully understanding the story.)
1060  Other / Off-topic / Re: How would you guys react if you guys lost 10, 000 bitcoin? on: October 12, 2016, 04:51:28 PM
Hopefully if you lose 10k bitcoins you have at least a few left over and aren't totally broke LOL.
Money is money. You can always make more.
As long as you are able to pay your rent so you don't have to live on the streets,
and you can eat some food,
you should be happy. Smiley
Remember there are people who are starving to death every day. Sad
