1081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador will be the richest country in the world in 8 years? on: October 08, 2022, 11:58:09 AM
Just think about it, the small country of El Salvador annually loses up to 30% of its GDP just to pay various third-party agencies commission interest for the transfer of funds.
And even though the adoption of bitcoin by El Salvador has not yet made the country much richer than it was, it still has a positive impact on the country's economy, as bitcoin and subsequent digitalization have attracted foreign investment and tourism, as well as expanded financial access for the population, mostly without bank accounts.
Yes, so far Salvador has lost on the purchase of bitcoin, but in the long run he will surely win a multiple.

I hope now the OP has calculated the load correctly and it will no longer lead to such sad consequences, the attitude of users who use cheap peripherals to power expensive equipment with a high load and even 24/7 is always surprising.
1083  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Russia to Supply Electricity to Kazakhstan’s Cryptocurrency Miners on: October 08, 2022, 11:21:22 AM
They did it last year because in November 2021 there was an unplanned (over the daily limit) daily flow of electricity from Russia to Kazakhstan amounted to 1.5 GW per day, Russia additionally provided 400 GW by the end of 2021. It's just that Inter RAO previously sold a significant amount of cheap electricity from the excess generation of Siberian hydroelectric power plants to China, but after the introduction of measures to squeeze out miners, the flow of electricity to Kazakhstan from Russia increased by more than 10%.

1. Is it possible for NFTs to coexist with a crypto-gambling project?

However, there is a reverse process from having a unique NFT, you get VIP access and a number of benefits (early access to a decentralized betting application) in an online casino, for example from degenverse.com (which released NFT Degen Pass 1777 pieces were released) which cooperate with Bc.game. There are three ways to get a Degen Pass: 1- by participating in bets on the BC.game; 2- to enter the top 10 of the Big Bang betting event; 3- through giveaways on Twitter and forums.

1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of bug bounties from gambling platforms on: October 08, 2022, 09:34:47 AM
Why aren't gambling websites using bug bounties to test-run their platform security? I haven't seen any gambling platform doing this, maybe that's why most gambling websites became prone to hacking? If I am wrong what gambling project do you think have the most secured system?, peace.

If you read TaC online casinos, you will notice that many of them use third-party software solutions to ensure security, whose names are not disclosed, obviously they fully trust them and interact with them. In addition, as already mentioned here, the reward for detecting security failures was announced by Fortune Jack, Bitcasino, Cakebet online casinos or, for example, Betcoin casino conducted the Dice Bug Bounty program, You can also see the passing bug bounties on the website https://www.bugcrowd.com/bug-bounty-list/

For me, when I try to register, I get an error message about the "SQLSTATE database[HY000] [2002] Connection refused", which is extremely rare, of course, I tried it in various browsers, but I never got a positive result, I don't even know what it might be related to.

Maybe I am not looking enough? That's why I decided to ask you all these questions

1. Is it possible for NFTs to coexist with a crypto-gambling project?

Of course, you can do NFTs as slot machines in online casinos, but the fact is that you will do with them, because there should be demand for them, you can simply generate random NFTs and chase uniqueness, but then a company with a lot of weight in the industry should be behind the project. The value of NFTs is in their uniqueness and the limitations of their offer, in a casino it will be just cards.
1089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: October 07, 2022, 05:01:11 PM
Even if it is not strictly related to GBTC, which is the main  subject of this thread, an interesting development for Grayscale:

Grayscale unveils bitcoin mining-centered investment entity

Quote
QUICK TAKE
  • Grayscale is launching Grayscale Digital Infrastructure Opportunities, a “private, co-investment opportunity in mining hardware that powers the bitcoin ecosystem.”
  • The company is partnering with digital asset mining and staking infrastructure firm Foundry, which will manage day-to-day operations
.

Yes, a newsletter from Grayscale really came to the mail about this news and it is in their press release. https://www.globenewswire.com/en/news-release/2022/10/06/2529537/0/en/Grayscale-Investments-Announces-New-Co-Investment-Opportunity-Designed-to-Capture-Upside-of-Crypto-Winter.html

Grayscale also reports that in accordance with the CoinDesk Large Cap Select Index methodology, the Digital Large Cap Fund portfolio was adjusted, a certain number of existing Fund components were sold in proportion to their respective weights, and subsequently these funds were used to purchase Polygon (MATIC). No tokens have been removed from the Digital Large Cap Fund. https://www.globenewswire.com/en/news-release/2022/10/06/2529955/0/en/Grayscale-Digital-Large-Cap-Fund-Grayscale-DeFi-Fund-and-Grayscale-Smart-Contract-Platform-Ex-Ethereum-Fund-Announce-Rebalancing-of-Funds-for-Third-Quarter-2022.html

Components of the Digital Large Cap Fund as of October 5, 2022:
-Bitcoin (BTC), 65.32%
-Ethereum (ETH), 28.03%
-Cardano (ADA), 2.49%
-Solana (SOL), 2.04%
-Polygon (MATIC), 1.26%
-Avalanche (AVAX), 0.86%

Components of the DeFi Foundation Fund as of October 5, 2022:
-Uniswap (UNI), 64.58%
-Aave (AAVE), 13.81%
-MakerDAO (MKR), 10.22%
-Curve DAO Token (CRV), 6.02%
-Compound (COMP), 5.37%

Components of the GSCPxE Fund as of October 5, 2022:
-Cardano (ADA), 28.05%
-Solana (SOL), 22.95%
-Polygon (MATIC), 14.07%
-Polkadot (DOT), 13.58%
-Avalanche (AVAX), 9.71%
-Cosmos (ATOM), 7.01%
-Algorand (ALGO), 4.63%

Since the Digital Large Cap Fund, the DeFi Fund and the GSCPxE Fund do not generate any income, and they all regularly distribute the components of the Fund to pay for current expenses. Thus, the number of Fund components represented by the shares of each fund gradually decreases over time.

I also had that login problem, and I want to know which countries are prohibited, sometimes when I enter a casino I do it from a fairly secure browser, usually it has a VPN included, it will not be, that by fate the country where I am it is prohibited and since I use Opera mini, well I can enter without any problem, what happens is that I like operamini more because it has everything I need in my hands and I quickly enter, I think that if they have restrictions they should put them in the casino For people from other countries to realize, some casinos that I have recommended to friends who are in the USA do not open them.

According to paragraph 5.1 of their TaC, restrictions on the use of the casino apply to Costa Rica and in any jurisdiction that prohibits the use of cryptocurrencies or prohibits betting online. https://app.betfamous.com/user/terms-conditions

1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AIDI]Aidi Finance ($AIDI) DEX & Gaming & NFTs & DeFi on: October 07, 2022, 04:24:04 PM
It seems that the developers are starting to publish at least some updates, here are the latest ones.
Earlier there was an announcement that FCF Pay and FCFCasino. platform started accepting Aidi(BSC), so there are plans to place Aidi Matic and Verse on FCF Pay, but as the team explains, it is necessary for these tokens to be listed on cmc.
Aidi developers have been in active contact with CMC to put us on the list, and it looks like we're pretty close.
The team also has a fairly large integration process, which is close to completion for large-scale cooperation in the very near future with a certain company, which has not yet been disclosed.
They promise to make announcements as they go through this or that stage.

BNB BRIDGE - REKT  $80M
https://rekt.news/bnb-bridge-rekt/
"2M BNB stolen in a hack as complex as Binance’s naming system.

BSC Token Hub, the BNB bridge between the old Binance Beacon Chain and BSC, now BNB Chain… was exploited into minting two lots of 1M BNB directly to the hacker’s address."

BNB Chain Resumes Activity After 2 Million Token Exploit
https://decrypt.co/111448/bnb-chain-resumes-activity-2-million-token-exploit

After the incident with the hacking of the BSC Token Hub bridge, the BSC development team proposed holding a vote on chain management on the following issues:
1. Should hacked funds be frozen or not?
2. Do I need to use automatic BNB burning to cover the remaining hacked funds or not?
3. Conducting a Whitehat program for future detected errors, $1 million for each significant error detected.
4. Announcement of a reward for the capture of hackers, up to 10% of the funds returned.
The BSC validator voting feature for general opinion will be enabled in the next few days as a result of the BNB Beacon Chain update.

1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AIDI]Aidi Finance ($AIDI) DEX & Gaming & NFTs & DeFi on: October 06, 2022, 10:14:26 AM
There has been no news from the project developers for a long time, everything has somehow subsided, however, despite the drop in the token price, the developers are doing some things, for example, bugs have been fixed in AidiCraft, they are going to add the NFT reward function, AidiCraft will also use Chainlink data channels to update prices in real time. Scheduled release: October 10, 2022.

I registered, i confirmed the account and everything but when i click "sign in" it doesn't do anything at all. I even allowed popups and disabled my browser shield but nothing happens. To be honest at this point i am not comfortable using site that deals with real money but has problems with login even if i got around it somehow after this.

Is this the "sign in" button from www.betfamous.com or https://app.betfamous.com/account/login?

Have you tried it with another browser?

For any technical problem, we recommend to provide details by email to our support. This will allow us to better target the issue. Thanks

I checked the possibility of registration and subsequent login and also received an error message "Invalid credentials" tried on different browsers did not help, resetting the password also did not solve the problem. After registration, I received an email and activated my account.

It seems that you haven't confirmed your email address, that's why you can't log in.
We will change (*) the alert, to avoid confusion (as this is not a password issue).
(*) EDIT: change done on 6 october

Please contact support for this type of problem (with all your details).

Our platform has been developed from scratch, it is not a white label solution already in use. So we are aware that there must be some technical adaptations during this launch, but these free tournaments allow you to test without any risk.

The email address was confirmed, but yesterday, after confirmation, it was not possible to log in to the account, today, after re-confirming the email address, it was possible to make changes to the profile and log in successfully. Smiley

1096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: October 06, 2022, 08:55:40 AM
Within two weeks, the discount on GBTC shares set a new record, so, as of September 30, the discount on GBTC shares has increased to a record 36.2% at the moment, but as of October 5, it returned to 35.01%, which may indicate the beginning of a reverse trend.

PS. Thank you @Daltonik for the good work in this thread!

Sir @filippone your gratitude is a very valuable capital. Smiley
1097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: October 06, 2022, 08:26:35 AM
Quote
<...>
El Salvador has started accepting Bitcoin as a legal tender, what does this mean for the country and the future of Bitcoin?
This is a great opportunity for El Salvador and its people, from an invisible and irrelevant country, to be in the spotlight around the world. It will attract, technology, investors, businesses, tourists, new residents, etc.

For people who are mostly poor and unbanked, this is an opportunity to learn about this technology, invest safely and save money when receiving remittances. And having a bitcoin book and making it a subject will make all Salvadoran students and college students bitcoin experts in the long run, and perhaps others will be left behind because most of those who understand and engage with bitcoin are only those who have the awareness.

And for Bitcoin, this is good news but not so relevant. Bitcoin does not require countries to adopt it as a legal tender. It is already the de facto currency in many places like Venezuela or Nigeria even though the government doesn't like it. That's the beauty of Bitcoin, it doesn't need permission from some politicians, people want to use it and nothing can stop it.

The usefulness of recognizing bitcoin as a means of payment is undoubtedly recognized by the members of the delegation from South Carolina who visited El Salvador with the sole purpose of researching the transformation of the economy in the case of bitcoin recognition and the possibility of introducing digital technologies in South Carolina. Yes, it was a private initiative, but as Dennis Fassuliotis, president of the South Carolina Emerging Technology Association (SCETA) said after the trip: “What we saw in El Salvador is very useful for our efforts to encourage greater support and understanding of digital assets and new technologies here in South Carolina

However, Do Kwon denies that the funds frozen on the accounts of Kucoin and OKEx belong to him, I wonder what he does if he doesn't even have time to trade, and he doesn't have accounts on these exchanges, it would be surprising if he recognized these funds as his own.

1099  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining BTC with gpu on: October 05, 2022, 04:50:15 PM
Hi I want to mine BTC with GPU (CUDA), does anyone recommend a miner not nicehash betterhash or those bloated ones I don't really want a big GUI just looking for something to connect with a pool on command line. I have been trying to get ccminer working but getting this error

GPU #0: result for 08742f4e does not validate on CPU!

Do people still use ccminer? Would also prefer to cut out all the crap for the other coins to reduce compile time but was having trouble when deleting it from the makefile so I have kept it in for now.

Is it hard to do your own what would you have to do send rpc commands to a stratum pool to receive the work and execute it on the gpu or something does anyone know of good documentation I was reading stratums but it wasn't explicit about using it for bitcoin.

thanks if anyone has suggestions or material to read Smiley

Of course you can try to play with solo mining, I once tried mining on solo.ckpool.org but I gave up this idea, it's easier to buy a few tickets for some rounds and try my luck in finding a block in a fold that @willi9974 organizes here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5381245.0 or English here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5237323.2860 perhaps luck will smile
